Chapter 41

Today is the day that Rory and Logan hope the twins cooperate. In the last sonogram, the twins were shy. Neither one would reveal their gender. It has been determined that they are fraternal twins. There could easily be one of each.

Rory was on her way to pick Logan up at the office. She has been working from home for a couple of weeks. Everything was running smoothly. Harper is set up in Rory's office. Everyone seems to be cooperating. School will be out soon. She is 14 weeks today.

Logan was waiting in the underground parking garage when they pulled up. He was hoping to be able to take the rest of the day off. He wanted to take Rory out to a late lunch, then pick Mia up from school. He had Claira pack the three of them a suitcase. He wanted to surprise them with a trip to Stars Hollow. He figured anything they forgot, they could buy when they got there. He had already talked to Lorelai and Honor. They were putting together a gender reveal for tomorrow. That is if the babies cooperate as well as reserved them one of the cottages outback. Lorelai and Sookie added three cottages outback. This caused a bigger draw to families with multiple children. She also had a nanny service with advance notice. Rory and Logan would not be using the nanny service.

They are waiting in the exam room. Dr. Carol finished the exam. Everything is right on track. She was checking to see if the sonogram room was available. She is going to do the sonogram instead of the tech. She had a few tricks that the tech didn't have to make the babies move.

Her assistant knocked then entered the room. She told them to follow her. When they got to the sonogram room, Dr. Carol and the tech were waiting. With Logan's help, Rory crawled up on the exam table and pulled her shirt up. Dr. Carol slowly rolled down her leggings to expose her baby bump. She put the cold gel on her. Before she put the wand on Rory's stomach, she asked.

"Let me get this straight. You want to know the sexes of the babies, but you want me to email them to your friend Lane?" Rory and Logan both nodded. "Okay, here we go. Cathy, are you ready?" Cathy was the tech in the room. She was going to write it down. They had the monitor facing away from Logan and Rory.

"Well," Carol said, hitting a few buttons on the machine. "Everything is measuring correctly. Let's listen to their heartbeats." A loud thumping sound came over the speakers. It sounded like a horse running. The whole room was smiling.

"Why are we only hearing one heartbeat?" Logan asked. This of course worried Rory, she hadn't noticed. Dr. Carol moved the wand around a little more.

"Listen carefully, they are beating together." This caused Rory and Logan to smile. "Okay, Cathy, this is baby A," She said pointing with the mouse and labeling it. "You got it?" She nodded. "Now, baby B, come on," Dr. Carol said, moving the wand. Baby B flipped. Rory felt a flutter. And smiled. "It flipped," Dr. Carol said. "Its butt is all I can see, I think it is mooning me." She said with a laugh.

"Baby B must be a boy. He is taking after Logan," Rory said. Her giggles turned into laughter. Carol was moving the wand around. "Keep laughing," She told Rory. Rory laughed, Logan reached up and started tickling her.

"That's it. There, Cathy, did you see it now?" Cathy nodded her head and wrote it down. "Okay, so with a little encouragement we got the genders." Dr. Carol said with a smile.

Rory stopped at the receptionist to make another appointment in a month. When she got outside, Frank was just pulling up. Logan helped Rory into the car. He asked her if she had a preference for lunch. She thought about it for a minute, then told Frank to take them to Jimbo on 64th Ave. As the car pulled out into traffic, Rory and Logan were both smiling.

When they were finished eating, they had 30 minutes before Mia would be out of school. Rory had satisfied the babies' craving for BBQ, but now they wanted Ice Cream. Rory talked Logan into walking to the Ice Cream shop on the corner. When they got in the car, Rory was licking the ice cream cone. Logan was watching her. It didn't take a lot to turn him on. His wife is beautiful and pregnant, but this was beyond a turn-on.

"Ace, Sweetheart, you have got to stop licking that ice cream." Rory whipped her head around. And smiled.

"I'm sorry," She said, poking her lips out and looking all innocent. "No, you do not get to poke your lips out like that. You know what you were doing." Then the devious grin appeared and she started to laugh. Logan was shaking his head.

When they pulled up to the school, Logan got out to go get Mia. He was gone for a few minutes. Longer than Rory thought he should be. Some momma probably stopped him to talk. She saw him walking across the lot with Mia in his arms. He was telling her something and was laughing and nodding.

After Logan got Mia buckled in, Frank pulled out in traffic. Mia was telling them about Brianna sitting on her banana in the lunchroom.

"She had to go home and change clothes, but she didn't come back." Mia was saying.

"Who put the banana in her seat?" Rory asked.

"I not see, Mrs. Scott in the lunchroom askeded us, we not see, momma," Mia said like that was crazy for Rory to ask a question like that. She was so animated, she used her hand when she talked, more than Rory did.

They were in the car for about 20 minutes when Rory noticed they were going in the wrong direction to be going home.

"Where are we going?" she said, looking at Logan. He had that grin on his face that told her he was up to something.

"Mia, do you know where we are going?" Logan asked. Mia smiled at her daddy, then looked at her mommy and made the 'zip a lip" motion. They were all laughing. Rory leaned up and asked Frank if he knew where they were going.

Frank smiled at her, "Mrs. Rory, you know I can't tell you. Mr. Logan and Ms. Mia would be upset with me." They were all laughing. Rory sat back in the seat with her arms crossed on her chest.
