Misato apartment
Shinji was about to finish making diner when sound of can opening pierced through the air.
"You could try drinking less beer Misato" said Shinji to his guardian. He started to put plates on kitchen table in front of his roommates.
"This looks nice Shinji, thank you. As for my drinking habit I'm drinking less since you two started living with me" said Misato.
"I don't want to know how much you drank before that. But that doesn't matter. It's still good for me" said Asuka sounding rather happy about it.
"And why is that Asuka?" asked a bit puzzled Misato.
Looking at her guardian smirking Asuka replied "Well it's easy. Who is better choice for Kaji? She clapped her hands. "Drunkard like you or young, virgin beauty like me?"
"He's not into minors Asuka". Taking another bite of her food Misato added "Can't you find someone your age? At school perhaps?"
"My age? I want a real man. There are just stupid little boys at school. Look at Shinji for example" said Asuka while pointing her finger at the boy. "He wouldn't even know how to kiss a girl. He would probably just run away screaming".
Shinji started to blush a bit. Not saying anything he was calmly eating his food. Misato started looking at Shinji 'She should be nicer to him. He doesn't deserve to be treated like this'. After a bit of staring at the boy, she thought that she might tease Asuka a bit.
While smiling Misato turned to face the redhead. "Talking from experience Asuka?". Blushing young red head responded "Like I would want to do anything with baka Shinji!"
Turning to Shinji, Misato asked "What about you Shinji?". Young boy raised his head and looked at his guardian. "Got any girl you like in school? Maybe you kissed some girl eh?" said Misato with provocative voice.
A bit nervous he started "I…" but was interrupted by Asuka. "Of course not. Who would want to waste their time on baka hentai like him?"
Annoyed, Misato replied "Ok, that's enough Asuka. Be nicer to him". She took a glimpse at the boy. 'What's with that look? Is he alright?'
Shinji stood up and took his plate. He moved to the sink and started cleaning the dishes.
The young girl finished her dinner and stood up. "Whatever. I'm going to my room. Thanks for the food baka". She walked to her room. While sliding the door to her room behind her she heard Misato say "I would like to have a few words with you Shinji now that Asuka's gone to her room".
"Hmm, ok". Not sure why but the boy felt a bit anxious.
Asuka stopped. `What? She wants to talk behind my back? She's got some nerve!` She turned the light off in her room. She slid her door almost shut leaving just a little gap so she could hear what her roommates were talking about.
Finished with the dishes the young pilot turned to his guardian. "Please sit down Shinji". After the boy sat she took a sip of her beer. "So what's her name?".
"Who's name?" asked rather confused Shinji.
"The girl you kissed"
Shinji was blushing heavily. "I… How did you know? I mean….". Embarrassed he stared at the kitchen table.
"Woman intuition" said smirking Misato. "So what's her name? Was it Rei or Asuka".
'Didn't you listen when I've said that I wouldn't do anything with baka Shinji!?'
"I…. Misato please"
"I'm right am I? You did kiss a girl?" Misato continued. Shinji started to look away blushing a bit. "I'm not going to tease you Shinji I promise. Please tell me".
"…" Finally defeated, Shinji looked at woman in front of him. "Kaori. Her name was Kaori".
Asuka blinked. 'Kaori? We don't have anyone with that name in our class'. After a second Asuka remembered 'Oh, there is a girl named Kaori in class 2-C'.
Misato moved her beer away and settled comfortably on her chair. "She's from school?"
"No"
"Really? Who is she?"
He lowered his head and started looking at both his hands that were laying on the table. He was too embarrassed to look at Misato. "A girl I've met when I ran away".
"And how did you meet her?"
Shinji gasped. "You won't let go will you?" He knew the answer but still wanted to ask. Misato replied with a grin. He finally said "I was wandering throughout town and it started to rain so I've decided to move somewhere warm and dry." He made a short pause "There was a cinema nearby. I've had little money on me so it was good place to spend the night. There were playing some old before second impact movies whole night.". He made another pause. "Room was almost empty. Only a few couples. Guess those movies are not that interesting huh?" He took his hands off the table. "She was there. Alone. Her friend didn't arrive".
"Please continue" said Misato.
He stood up from his chair. "Let me get a glass of water first". After pouring himself a glass of water he went back to his chair. He took a sip and continued. "She was bored with the movie. We started talking. It was getting late and she said that her brother is away and asked if I wanted to go to her place. I think she felt sorry for me".
A bit suspicious Misato asked "It wasn't some older woman?"
Blushing Shinji responded "No. She was 16. At least that's what she said. She said her brother was out of town".
'So you went with a girl you've just met to her place?' thought Misato while taking another sip of her beer. "So you kissed at her place?". Shinji went silent. He was looking away from her. Looking at now beet red boy "Oh come on don't be shy. You kissed her…" her eyes went wide open "don't tell me. It wasn't just kissing?"
Blushing and nervously rubbing his hands he answered "N-no. C-can we skip the rest of the details?"
Misato threw her empty can to the trash and took another beer. "Let me get this straight. You two slept together? You know what I mean" She couldn't believe she actually asked that question.
Embarrassed he answered "We did" and buried his face in his hands.
Asuka couldn't believe what she was hearing.'What? Come on Misato. He's just baka hentai. He probably tells you some wet dream he had'
Misato leaned over the table a bit. "My my. Can you at least tell me what she looked like? Was she cute?"
"...she was." he emptied his glass.
"Did you spend more time with her?"
"No" he started to look sad. "Her brother called in the morning that he will be sooner. She panicked and kicked me out before he arrived. Section two found me later that day".
Misato stood up and walked to the boy. Shinji looked at Misato not sure what was going to happen. She hugged him. "I'm sorry. I know it was hard for you to open up. Thank you for trusting me and for being honest". He enjoyed the embrace. It lasted for a while.
"Thank you Misato"
"Now off you go. You have school tomorrow". She waved her hand. 'I need couple more beers'
Asuka slid the door to her room shut. 'Baka hentai' she thought before going to sleep.
NERV headquarters
Misato was in her office looking through personal files of certain teenage girls on her laptop. Looking at another page she sighed. 'Ok, last one to print'. Moment later door to her office opened and she heard her name being called. She turn around to see Kaji and Ritsuko.
"Hey. I was right it was your car. We're going to get some coffee. Want to join us?" asked Kaji.
Blonde scientist was a bit surprised to see her friend so early. "What a change. Your shift doesn't start in an hour. Why are you so early?"
Misato put last printed file into a folder and closed it. "Just some personal stuff to handle. Coffee sound great".
They went to NERV canteen and after getting needed drink they settled down at a table. Curious, Kaji asked. "So any reason why you were looking at some personal files of some girls?"
"How perceptive of you. Nothing in particular" she lied.
"I've happen to notice that they had same name. It seems like you're looking for someone" Kaji smiled.
Misato was mad that he was so observant. She decided it wouldn't hurt to tell her friends.
"Ok, I'm gonna tell you but you have to keep it to yourself. Can you promise me that?"
"Yes" was their answer.
Misato opened her folder and shown them some of the files. "Kaji is right. I'm looking for someone" after a short pause she added "There's a chance that Shinji slept with one of those girls".
"Shinji Ikari? Commanders' son? The shy boy? Seriously?" Ritsuko didn't believe what her friend was saying.
Kaji smiled. "And how do you know?"
"Shinji and I had some conversation yesterday. Asuka was picking on him. It started as usual how perfect Kaji is for her".
She got interrupted. "I always turn her down".
Misato waved her hand. "Yeah, yeah it's not about you. Anyway I teased her a bit. You know how Shinji doesn't respond to her taunts. When Asuka went to her room I asked him if he ever kissed any girl. You should see his face. After a bit of interrogation he spilled it all"
Ritsuko was looking at some photograph. "And you want to find this girl why?"
"I'm just curious"
"Yeah right. You don't have your own sex life so you want to look at someone's else?"
Annoyed by that comment Misato looked at her friend. "Oh yeah? And when did you have good sex Rits?"
Calm almost cold voice was heard. "Two days ago".
Misato gave Kaji a death stare. In defense he said "I was out of town!" Then she look back at the blonde.
"Didn't you have night shift then?" She saw grin on her friend face. "So that's why you asked for bigger budget? To hire more technicians. Is that some form of evaluation?" She picked on her friend.
"If you need some stress relief I can help". Kaji said with a wide grin but was met with cold look.
"I'm taking care of those kids. I care about their well being".
"If you say so. We didn't detect any spikes in his sync ratio for some time" looking at the files she sighed "I'm counting 19 files in here. You're going to ask Shinji which one is it?"
"Of course not Rits. I have some details from Shinji like age and name. He also said when and where he met her. At least I've narrowed it to two places. They are public places so I'm hoping there's some camera footage inside or around the area"
"Isn't that a bit much? Using NERV resources to spy on a kid. What do you think Kaji?"
He took one file and started looking. "Well I can help you with that. Not that I have anything more important. Pilots well being is always highest priority." he winked. "And since I'm working for NERV internal affairs department who's better to look into it?"
"You're curious too eh?"
"A bit yes. Care to share some more details Misato? I'm guessing she's not from his school?"
"No, she met her when he ran away"
"So" they both looked at Ritsuko "he went to bed with a girl he just met? " Misato nodded "Now I'm interested as well". She finished her coffee and continued "What if this girl or Shinji lied?"
"That's why I want to check camera footage first" Misato look through the files and picked three of them. "I'm guessing it's one of them". She handled the files to Kaji. "They met in a cinema that was playing old movies at night. I have two addresses."
Looking at photos he said smiling "Well no wonder he took the opportunity". He put down the files "I've finished my shift and can look into it".
Misato wrote cinema addresses, meeting date and handled all the files to Kaji "Here. Just keep me posted. And not a word to anyone"
School
Shinji entered his classroom a bit worried. Asuka was avoiding him since morning. She had breakfast but left before him. He was not sure was she was not speaking to him.
"Hey Shinji" Toji was first to speak to Shinji.
"Oh hey. Nice to see you guys". He looked at his school friends. "What's up mate. Where's the red devil?"
"I don't know. Asuka didn't say a word to me today. I think she's avoiding me".
"Man. I wish I had super power like this. Red devil avoiding me. Sweet dream" said Toji happily as he never was in good terms with Asuka.
Shinji sat on his seat. He faced his friends and said "She's not that bad".
"Yeah you always say that. What happened?"
Shinji sighed. "Well I'm not sure. She ate breakfast and than she left before me. I've caught her on the station before the train arrive but she didn't say a word to me".
"Man just enjoy that she finally stopped messing with you" said Toji. He sat on a chair opposite to him. "Maybe she finally decided to leave you alone".
"I doubt it" said Shinji wondering why Asuka was acting a bit strange this morning.
In the hallway Asuka met with her only friend Hikari. She said with annoyed voice to her friend "God that baka hentai is getting on my nerves".
Hikari frowned as she heard Asuka complaining about Shinji again. "What did he do this time? Did he try to peep on you?"
"God no Hikari. He knows that would be a death sentence to him".
"Then why are you so mad with the boy?" said her friend. "He's kind and gentle" she added.
"Don't get fooled Hikari"
"So what did he do?" asked the class rep wanting to get at least some answer from Asuka. She knew that Asuka was usually exaggerating about Shinji. Asuka said many things about the boy that were not true. Still she considered Asuka her friend. "Did he made a move on you?"
"He's alive isn't he? Let's just drop it ok? He's just a baka hentai".
"As you wish". Hikari knew what Asuka did like the boy to say at least. She didn't want to say that out loud as Asuka was quite picky on the subject. The entered the classroom just before the teacher.
"Rise. Bow. Be seated"
"Good morning students. Before we begin with our lesson I have an announcement to make. Next week we will have a trip to Okinawa. All the plans and details are on those leaflets. Please each one take one after the lesson ends". The class erupted.
"Quiet please, we have a lesson" Hikari tried to calm the excitement of the class. "We can all discuss it on lunch break".
History class was always boring. Listening to it felt like it takes forever. Shinji typed private message on his computer.
[Shinji] "Can I ask you something Horaki-san?"
[Hikari] "I've said many times Shinji to call me Hikari"
[Shinji] "I'm sorry Hikari"
[Hikari] "Forgiven. What do you wanted to ask?"
[Shinji] "Well Asuka left in a hurry and didn't take her lunch. She's not speaking to me today and you eat lunch with her so can I leave her box with you?"
[Hikari] "Sure thing Shinji"
When the class finally ended all students left for lunch. Asuka checked her bag and noticed she didn't pack her lunch. 'Just great. And baka Shinji already left for lunch already'. She was thinking if she should go to cafeteria to buy her food. She stood up when Hikari approached her.
"Ready for lunch?"
"I need to buy my lunch first"
Hikari smiled at her friend. "Shinji asked me to give you your lunch" She gave Asuka lunch box. "You're angry at him and he's still nice to you".
"Yeah whatever. Let's go".
They sat on their usual spot and started eating their lunch. Asuka saw Shinji in the distance giving a lunch box to Rei. 'Always friendly with the doll'. She sighed. "So we have a trip to Okinawa? Did you see the plan? We will be able to do whatever we want. Isn't that great?"
"Yes they didn't plan any school activities. We will have time to ourselves. The did plan few things like scuba diving. Did you try it?"
"I didn't. I'm so exited. I'll need to buy a swimsuit for the occasion". Asuka just had an idea. It was ideal opportunity to ask Kaji to go with her for shopping. She took her phone and typed a message. Soon she received an answer "Sure kiddo. I just need to finish some work". She happily finished her meal.
