PART FOUR:
A hour or so later in the day after his 'explanations' to Nami, PEW was making his way back to his ship at the Lougetown docks.
"Oh my head!" he groaned rubbing his temples. "I REALLY have to remember to bring more than just one bottle of aspirin, when I'm out doing my jobs," the hooded figure muttered to himself as he swallowed his pills and swigged from a canteen of water. "Finding a chemist is far and few between on the Grand Line, it's why I have so many on my ship. I'm just SO glad Lougetown has chemists here or I'd be done for!"
"Glad to hear you're feeling alright PEW," a voice suddenly spoke up causing PEW to come to a dead stop.
Suddenly as if by magic half a dozen armed men dressed in dark clothes surrounded PEW in perfect silence. The men then parted as were joined by a tall man with dark hair and beard dressed in a dark cloak covering up his dark purple coat and trousers complete with gold buckle belt with matching boots.
"Well if it isn't Max Laszlo and his followers the 'Lougetown Lurker' gang," PEW said casually putting away his aspirins and canteen. "I would have thought Smoker would have caught you all by now."
"Smoker and his Marines do make things difficult for us," Max replied to PEW. "But not IMPOSSIBLE, as you can see we have mastered the art of stealth. We can hide in any shadow, doorway, alley and sewer with them a few feet AWAY and they never notice us. They're good…but they can't search EVERYWHERE now can they?"
"That's true enough," PEW said admittedly. "Obviously he doesn't have enough Marines to do a COMPLETE search of Lougetown from top to bottom, it would explain why you're worth 9,000,000 Berries huh? That's pretty high for the East Blue, so…what can I do for you?"
"PEW 'the Informed One'," Max said getting straight to the point. "What we want is for you to hand over ALL the information on where and what days the Marine Supply Ships arrive at Lougetown with the towns money for distribution to the banks. Plus we'll be needing to know just HOW many Marines will be on those ships, what weapons they use, and most importantly…WHERE the money will be stored on said ships."
"So you can ambush and ROB them?" PEW said scornfully. "Oh that's REAL smart! Even if by some miracle you did manage to rob the ships, IF I told you of course, Smoker and his fellow Marines would come down on you fools like a tonne of bricks. So would all the people of Lougetown, hell hath no greater fury then townsfolk deprived of their hard earn wages! Smoker wouldn't need reinforcements to look for you, EVERYONE who lives in Lougetown would be on the lookout for you. NONE of your hiding places would be safe anywhere anymore, they'd search every INCH of this place to find you."
"You let us worry about that eventually PEW, now are you going to help us?"
"If you had just COME to me with your request instead of ambushing and threatening me," PEW told Max. "I MIGHT have helped you by fixing a price. But as you chose THIS approach it means you have no intention of paying me ANYTHING, so I will do no such thing!"
"So be it," Max said grimly. "Then we're forced to kill you, as you know what we want. So we'll just take all the information we want from the files on your ship."
"You were going to do that ANYWAY," PEW said carefully putting down his briefcase as he got ready to defend himself. "I've known people like you from all over and you WON'T succeed."
"Oh but we ARE," Max said confidently as he backed away to let his men defend him. "We marked your ship at the docks, by now the rest of my men are looting it as we speak."
"I kind of guessed that," PEW said gesturing around at his approaching opponents. "You're a gang of twelve and there's only seven of you here. But let me tell you something," he added with a chuckle. "They, like YOU are in for a real big surprise as my ship is well protected…like me. Shigan Oren!" PEW said before moving his arms rapidly on three of his attackers.
Max looked in in shocked amazement as his first three 'Lurkers' fell to the ground almost like they had been shot, but no gunfire had been heard.
"What the hell?!" one of the remaining Lurkers exclaimed.
"Rankyaku Sen!" PEW shouted as he made a stomping kick with his right leg. The savage swinging motion caused a gust of air, which hit PEW's opponent like a bullet of air, knocking him clear into a wall shattering it like it had been hit by a wrecking ball.
"You bastard!" one of the remaining Lurkers screamed furiously charging at PEW with a sword from his right.
"You'll pay dearly for this!" another cried from his right.
"Soru Kokoken!" PEW yelled jumping up and vanishing just as his two attackers swung their swords.
"Huh?"
"Eh?"
Suddenly the two men fell to the ground as PEW reappeared in front of them and punched them in the face knocking them senseless. That just left Max Laszlo himself.
"Alright wise guy try dodging these!" Max shouted as he drew out a pair of pistols.
"Kami-e!" PEW cried just as his enemy started firing.
To Max's astonishment PEW started bending and twisting his body out of the way of his bullets like he was made of paper! PEW kept on doing this action until Max's pistols were empty before he calmly walked up to the now terrified man. In an act of final desperation to defend himself, Max tried to punch PEW in the face, but the information dealer was ready for this.
"Tekkai Utsugi," PEW said calmly seconds before Max's punch hit his face. No sooner had the hooded figure said this, Max was suddenly sent flying backwards sliding onto the ground, clutching his fist in agony the moment his fist touched PEW's face.
"Arrrrrrgh!" Max roared in pain clutching his now throbbing fist. "What the hell was THAT?! It felt like I hit a brick wall! I think I broke my hand!"
"That's all due to my knowing 'Rokushiki' also known as the 'Six Powers,'" PEW said casually as he picked up his briefcase. "A special superhuman martial arts style, it's how I beat you and your fellow Lurkers. I used Kami-e aka 'Paper Body' to dodge your bullets, Tekkai aka 'Iron Body' to defend myself from your punch and deal the damage back at you. To defeat the rest of your gang I used Shigan aka 'Finger Gun,' Rankyaku aka 'Tempest Kick' and lastly Soru aka 'Shave.'
"But that's only five!"
"You'll see me use Geppo aka 'Moon Step' to get me back to my ship, think yourself lucky I didn't have to use it in battle."
"You may remember that the rest of my men have been looting your ship all this time PEW," Max said angrily. "By now they've taken ALL of your files, money and other possessions. We have MASTERED the art of stealth in this town you will NEVER get ANY of it back!"
"I told you before Max," PEW replied casually as he quickly scribbled something down in a note book he was carrying. "My ship is well protected, like I am…now shut up!" So saying Pew punched Max in the face knocking him senseless.
"Sorry about that Max," PEW went on finishing his note. "But don't worry the Marines will deal with you real soon, all this fighting has probably attracted their attention by now."
As PEW spoke there was the sound of marching feet getting closer. "You see? But I haven't the time to explain it's why YOU can give them this note," PEW went on tearing out the page from his notebook and putting it in the unconscious Max's hand. "It'll explain what happened here and what happened to your men down at the docks when they come to collect them. Speaking of which, I'd better get going!"
Giving a cry of "Geppo!" PEW leapt up into the air and continued to do so as he sped through the air like a bird.
The journey was very brief for PEW and before long he was at the Lougetown docks where he had moored 'The Enlightenment' when he had first arrived. Walking up the gangplank PEW was greeted by the sight of the rest of the Lougetown Lurker gang, laying prone all over the deck of his ship alive but unmoving.
"Hi guys," Pew called to the paralyzed bodies of the Lurkers. "I ran into your boss and the rest of your friends back in the alleys. "As you can probably guess," he went on putting down his briefcase and carefully checking over each body one by one. "I managed to defeat them easily, and the Marines are busy picking them up right now. Your boss told me his ridiculous plan, which involved you attempting to loot my ship for all my information files. But…as you probably ALREADY know by now, it's well protected. Did you honestly think I would just leave 'The Enlightenment' alone and unprotected for ANY idiot to steal my things? As you've discovered, I have a…'partner' of sorts who minds the ship for me. It's why I didn't hurry back, as I KNEW he'd handle things for me. But as he's now done his bit, I must now do mine."
PEW then went around the deck and carefully picked up the bodies of the paralyzed Lurker gang one by one carefully depositing them on the dock.
"You guys should consider yourself lucky my 'partner' didn't end up killing you and just paralyzed you all instead. But don't worry, the paralysis will wear off on you after twelve hours or so, but the Marines will be here soon to arrest you before that happens. Then you get to meet the rest of your friends in prison, so see you around boys!" PEW said with a friendly wave as he walked back onto his ship and unmoored it.
"Right!" PEW said to himself as his ship pulled out from the dock. "Time to get back to work."
PEW picked up his briefcase and started down the stairs into his lounge, but he came to a dead stop when he got to the bottom of the stairs. His entire lounge was covered in a slime trails and water going all over his floor and furniture! Quickly moving to his kitchen, he found more of the slime trails and water. PEW also found the contents of his cupboards had been pulled out as if someone or something had gone through them.
"Oh no!" PEW groaned to himself in irritation as if this was not the first time something like this had happened before to him.
"Now look here!" PEW said loudly looking around his kitchen. "I've told you before, I don't mind you being on my ship to protect it when I'm not here. But you seem to forget the RULES I set up here as we BOTH have to share this ship, so I will go over them AGAIN!"
As PEW spoke, he moved back through his kitchen and lounge following the smile trails and water into his study, where the same scene he had seen before greeted him.
"Now then…no coming on-board ship when I'm here, you only do that when I summon you for assistance against hostile visitors! No leaving slime trails everywhere! No KILLING and EATING of intruders when I'm not here, you wait for permission! No trying to attack and eat the News Coos if they turn up when I'm not here! No coming BELOW deck when I'm not here after defeating any unwanted intruders! No going through my THINGS! No trying to EAT my Transponder Snails!"
By now PEW had finished searching his study with no result, so he had moved onto his main cabin which was also like the other rooms, slime trails and evidence of examination by something. On a suddenly impulse he checked his private bathroom and it confirmed his fears.
"No swimming in my Bathtubs, sinks and water tanks! No eating of my salty foods! No chewing and sliming on my CARPET!"
By now PEW was standing in the centre of his study looking around knowing that his quarry was nearby listening to him. "You will NOT hide from me!"
There was a suddenly rattling coming from PEW's closet, quickly the hooded figure strode over and opened it up. Inside the darkness of the closet PEW found himself staring at a pair of beady little eyes
"This is NOT your room!" PEW said sternly to the eyes. "However," he went on calming down. "As you DID protect this ship WITHOUT killing OR eating those Lurkers, I'm willing to overlook this incident THIS time around. Just remember how we have to SHARE this ship after I helped you when in trouble, so try not to do anything that bug's me you know I do the same for you. Now…go back to the sea please…I have some cleaning up to do, ok?"
PEW turned away from the closet, as he did so, there came the sound of wet slimly movement as whatever the eyes belonged to came out of its hiding place and made for the study door. Knowing that his partner liked to remained 'unseen' until needed, PEW didn't turn around until he heard the door open and the noise went out. Turing around, PEW saw that his 'partner' had indeed gone and had left him something behind as a way of apology. It was a lump of ocean grey stone, all wet and gleaming in the cabin's light.
"I'll be dammed," PEW chuckled to himself. "He gave me some Sea Stone; he must have found it on the sea bed at the docks." Going to the door PEW called out, "Thanks for the gift partner!"

Sometime later, after cleaning up all the mess on his ship, PEW sat down at his study desk and opened up the briefcase he had gotten at Lougetown. Inside the case was a pair of White Transponder Snails, unlike the three other regular Transponder Snails PEW had in his study and main cabin, these creatures were a lot fatter.
"With THESE White Transponder Snails," PEW said to himself putting one on his desk next to other three Den-Dens. "I won't have to worry about anyone eavesdropping any of my communications with my clients if they have a Black Transponder Snail on them. I can also encrypt my calls to my client who supplied them to me."
Picking up the other remaining White Den-Den PEW headed off to his main cabin to set it up, for he was now on his way BACK to the Grand Line and there was much to do.
