Breach.
Jaune had been sleeping calmly through night inside JNPR's dormroom, and was seemingly having a nice dream.
"Waffles..." Jaune said in he sleep, before he suddenly wakes up to a call on his Scroll and quickly answers "Hello?" He hears noise for six seconds from Ruby's Scroll before the call ends "Uh, Ruby?".
Later on, Team JNPR walks at dawn towards their Bullhead. It was time for their own trip, which they had been excited to go on for a while now. But Jaune wasn't as focused on it as he should be, since the call from Ruby was still fresh on his mind, and distracted him a lot.
"I'm sure they're fine" Pyrrha assured.
Jaune looks at her "You think?".
"Probably a butt dial..." Nora said
"Team RWBY has always performed exceptionally in the field. We should be focusing on our own mission" Ren reminded.
"We're gonna be deputies!" Nora said cheerfully.
"I just got this feeling... I don't know" Jaune said, still unsure and worried of what was happening.
"Jaune..." Pyrrha said softly.
Suddenly, alarms ring out as they see the city up in smoke. And just like that, all their plans flew right out the window as the city was clearly in danger, and they had a clear duty to protect their home.
"We're changing our mission. Everyone on board!" Jaune ordered and as the team heads toward their Bullhead, he does a headcount before stopping Ren "Ren, we'll make it to that village another time. Take us into the city!".
As the Bullhead takes off, Mercury, Cinder, Líf and Emerald watch nearby.
"You don't think..." Emerald began.
"Sure looks like it" Mercury finished for her.
"That's still days away!" Emerald said.
"Leave it to Torchwick to fail such a straight forward task" Líf said
"So? What do we do?" Mercury asked.
Cinder looks down in thought before she looks up, having made her decision. Looks like their plan needed to be moved up.
Team RWBY is surrounded in the middle of the pavilion by Beowolves, Ursai, and a massive King Taijitu. The King Taijitu unleashes a mighty roar, signaling the Grimm to attack. Ruby plants Crescent Rose on the ground before kicking away the Grimm, Yang propels herself upwards, performing aerial bombardments with Ember Celica on the Grimm before three Giant Nevermores send her crashing to the ground. Blake slashes a Beowolf with Gambol Shroud before stabbing it in the head and began firing on the other approaching Grimm. Weiss slashes three Beowolves, before summoning a glyph to conjure up an ice blade. Yang gets back up and sends several cars flying towards the Grimm. As Ruby finishes slashing at a Grimm, she notices the King Taijitu ready for the attack, until she also sees Nora flying on Magnhild towards the King Taijitu, slamming it on the head and killing the beast.
"Nora Smash!" She yelled in excitement as the rest of her team arrives.
"Let's move!" Pyrrha said and Jaune sighs as the others charge in.
"Smack!" Nora bats a Creep away while Ren strikes two more. He moves on to slash at a Beowolf.
"Okay, who's first?" Jaune turns around to notice a giant Ursa standing behind him. Pyrrha is fighting several Grimm nearby. Impaling a Beowolf, and then a Creep before seeing the Ursa advance on Jaune. Behind him Weiss and Blake are fighting more Grimm "Oh-oh-okay, you're first, huh? Okay, no, that's fine. Totally fine, done this before, done this before...".
With a mighty scream, Jaune slashes the Ursa several times before it falls. Pyrrha smiles, as she notices his improvement. Ruby killed a Beowolf, until a large Ursa began charging at her. She got ready to fight it until suddenly, Lucina drops down from the sky and lands on the Ursa, stabbing it through the head. Lucina pulls her sword free before giving Ruby a smile. Ruby smiled back, thankful for the help.
While that was happening, Blake was ready to face a group for 4 creeps and 3 Beowolves. The biggest Beowolf began charging until Severa slammed down on it with her shield, hitting it with the force of a tiny meteor. Severa stood up, bashing away a Creep with her shield, before dodging a bite from a Beowolf, grabbed it by it's jaws and tore of the upper part with her hand. The other grimm were about to attack her but was quickly gunned down by Blake.
Severa ran up to Blake, but before she could say anything, Blake held up a hand, silently telling her there would be time for talk later. Severa nods in agreement as both got ready for the next wave.
Meanwhile, Bernadetta stood on a roof top, shooting several grimm "When will this end!?".
She heard a sound behind her. She turned and saw a smaller Nevermore fly towards her. Reacting quickly, she fired an arrow in to it's mouth, causing it to crash on the roof, and sent Bernadetta of. She screamed before she felt herself being caught by strong arms.
She looks up and saw her savior "Yang?".
Yang smiled at her "Hello Bernie. Nice of you to drop in".
Bernadetta gave her a blank look for her pun before she gasped "Grimm!".
"Right. You ready for this?" Yang asked as she puts Bernadetta down.
The smaller girl looked at Yang for a moment before she gained a small smile and aimed her bow "Yes... For once... I believe I am".
Yang smiled at that and both began fighting together. Meanwhile, Lyre was getting in to a pouncing stance as several Creeps ran towards her. She dashed forward, slicing up several Creeps with her claws, before burying all her claws in to a Beowolf's chest as she tackled it down. She tore it's chest open, before a Creep was about to bite her tail, but it was quickly killed by Weiss.
"Weiss! You save my tail!" Lyre said like a princess who had just been saved from a monster.
"Stay focused, Lyre" Weiss ordered.
"Oh, right" Lyre said sheepishly.
While all this was happening, Sun and Neptune arrive, flashing their badges.
"Nobody move! Junior detectives!" Sun said.
"We have badges so you know it's official!" Neptune added.
Suddenly a fleet coming from the Atlesian Military arrived. Consisting of dropships deploying Atlesian Knight-200 units and the flagship of James Ironwood. Sun and Neptune react in awe of the fleet as Sun drops his badge to the floor. As Team RWBY looks up in the sky, an Ursa takes the opportunity to attack Ruby from behind. However, it is gunned down by a dropship's machine gun. As the robotic Knights deploy, they start gunning down the Grimm. Two of the Knights are stampeded on by a Boarbatusk, but a separate group of three Knights fire on an Ursa and another Ursa has fallen from a Knight's punch.
Cinder arrives with her group and nods her head, signaling them to attack the Grimm as she walks off. As an Ursa receives the business end of Mercury's kick, at least half a dozen assorted Grimm stand in front of Emerald. Who draws her weapons from their holsters, revealing them to be dual pistols. She opens fire and all but a single Ursa fall to a barrage of Dust shots while charging at Emerald. Emerald quickly transforms her pistols into kopis blades, flipping and slashing at the rampaging Ursa to kill it. Meanwhile, Líf walks in to a middle of a large group of grimm, all of which attacks him... but a flash, all of them are gut apart by his sword and he looks up as a smaller Nevermore dives towards him, but he easily kills it with a stab to the chest and slicing of it's head. As more Knights subdue the Grimm, out of the brech comes Zwei, followed by Oobleck in a damaged Atlesian Paladin-290. The dog jumping off to headbutt a Beowolf.
An airship arrives, dropping off Team CFVY and Professor Port. As Yatsuhashi is surrounded by a pack of Grimm, he unlimbers his massive sword before smashing it on the ground, unleashing a shockwave that sends the grimm flying. Velvet and Fox respectively kick and punch the Grimm with Fox impaling a Creep. Nearby a large spiked Ursa roars before charging them. Fox intercepts it with a kick then unleashes a combo of slashes and punches with his weapons. Knocking the Grimm skyward with an uppercut, as it descends he delivers a blow to the head with both hands that sends it flying. After landing it swells up and explodes impaling the nearby Grimm with its spikes. Coco walks forward swatting a few away with her weapon. Yatsuhashi shields Velvet before the two start advancing.
Coco gives Fox a light pat on the butt "Nice hustle, Fox. Good job Fox jumps back as Coco approaches a large Beowolf "You just destroyed my favorite clothing store" She spits "Prepare to die".
Coco, after swatting away its right hand, kicks the Beowolf in the crotch. She, as it falls to the ground and looks at her, leans down and slams her bag onto its head. She effortlessly swats away three more Beowolves, then leaps back to avoid a Death Stalker's tail. Velvet steps forward, and moves a hand toward Anesidora about to open the box.
Coco stops her "Hey, come on, you just spent all the semester building that up. Don't waste it here".
Coco then transforms her handbag into a giant minigun, and starts firing, slaughtering the advancing horde of Grimm, including a Death Stalker and three Nevermores. Port and Oobleck regroup at the opening, nodding their heads. They fire their weapons at the approaching Grimm. While they did that, Byleth extended her sword and slashed up several grimm before pulling it back and cut of the head of a Ursa Major.
Soon, Seteth arrived, with a not so pleased look on his face, clearly displeased about the situation. He brings out his weapon, which was a lance, and quickly strikes several Beowolves with blinding speed, before stabbing an Ursa through the head. He noticed a Boartusk rolling towards him, but his calm and focused demeanor did not change. Once it got close, he used the blunt side of his lance to knock it in to the air. Still spinning, the Boartusk came back down towards him, but Seteth suddenly holds up his lance. The Boartusk stops spinning as Seteth successfully stabbed it through the chest with great precision.
Seteth threw the dead grimm away before brushing of his clothes "Disgusting monsters".
"Wow, Seteth is pretty badass" Severa commented.
Soon Glynda mops up the remnants of the grimm and immediately closes the opening using her Semblance. Finally the danger was over.
Later on, everyone meets in the pavilion as Roman is escorted by Mercury and Emerald towards an Atlesian airship.
"Oh, I can't believe that you caught me, you've really taught me the error of my ways" He said as an Atlesian Knight grabs him by the arm "He-hey, watch the hat!".
Emerald and Mercury then approach Ruby and they smile at each other. Team JNPR is seen exchanging smiles, Sun and Neptune bump fists, Team CFVY likewise smile at each other, and Port and Oobleck do the same while Glynda and Seteth watches from behind.
"Blake!" Severa called out as she ran up to her girlfriend "Are you ok?".
"I'm fine, Severa. What about you? You look a little shaken" Blake said in concern.
"Our... mission was less than a success. We injured the beast, but it survived because of a Goliath" Severa said, disappointed by her failed mission.
Blake puts a hand on her cheek "What matters is, you are alive. I... was a little worried about you".
"Come now, Blake. You know I wont go down easy" Severa said, trying to sound confident, despite being clearly exhausted.
"I know, but I will always worry about those I love" Blake said with a warm smiled.
Severa blushed at her words "Right...".
"Weiss!" Lyre cheered as she hugged Weiss hard "Thank you for saving my tail! Don't know what I would've done if I lost it!".
"You're welcome. Can you let go of me now?" Weiss asked as she tried to free herself from the hug.
"Nope! Not before I've had my fill of snow hugs" Lyre said happily.
Weiss sighed, but smiled as she pets Lyre on the back "You are such a silly girl...".
"The ice queen is melting" Yang joked, and ignored the glare she got from Weiss as she focused on Bernadetta "I saw your smile before. Looks like you are becoming more confident now, Bernie".
"Really? I don't feel any different" Bernadetta said.
"Don't worry, it'll sink in" Yang said as she pets Bernadetta's head, earning a cute pout.
"If you say so... but all I feel right now is exhaustion" Bernadetta said.
Yang smiles "Is that so? Well, allow me to take you back".
"Huh?! Wait— What are you— No! Not again!" Bernadetta yelled before she was picked up by Yang "Aaah! Stop! Put me down!".
Lucina giggled at the sight "We sure lead very strange teams, don't we Ruby?".
"Yeah. But that's what makes being around them a lot more fun" Ruby said with a smile.
"Yes. It is" Lucina agreed.
And with that. Everyone headed back to Beacon for a much needed laugh. Though non of them had any idea of what was going to happen, real soon.
A while later, Cinder, Líf, Mercury, and Emerald meet discreetly at a rooftop.
"All in all, I call today a success" Cinder said.
"Those stupid kids really made a mess of things" Emerald pointed out.
"Yeah. A lot of Faunus didn't make it out the tunnels. You still think the White Fang's gonna listen to us?" Mercury asked.
"No, but they'll listen to me" Everyone looked and saw Adam Taurus, one of the deadliest members of the White Fang.
"Our plans may have been a little rushed due to Team RWBY meddling. But make no mistakes" Líf began as he looked towards Beacon "The destruction of our enemies is all but assured".
Adam walks up next to him "Sounds like you have a personal reason for wanting them dead".
"Trust me, Adam Taurus. You have no idea" Líf said in a deadly tone.
The night arrived, and the students were enjoying a well earned sleep. However, in Team LSBL's room, Lucina was woken up by her scroll. Rubbing her eyes she picked it up and noticed a message which read: Meet me outside.
Confused on who this could be, and her curiosity winning over her common sense, Lucina decided to check. She got out of bed, and not wanting to risk waking up her team, Lucina decided to leave the dorm in just her pajamas. She looks down the hallways, trying to see if she could find who ever messaged her.
"Over here..." Came the whisper of a familiar voice.
Lucina followed the whisper until she noticed who it was "Cinder?".
Cinder smiled and grabbed her hand "Come with me. Nice Pajamas by the way".
Lucina blushed but before she could say anything, Cinder pulled her along. And they ended up outside the dormitory, and Lucina was freezing from the cold night air hitting her legs.
"Did you have to bring me out here?" She asked.
"Sorry. But this is the only way we can talk without the risk of waking anyone up. Besides, it's your own fault for not getting dressed first" Cinder said as she glanced at Lucina's legs.
"Just, tell me what you want? And please make it quick, I'm freezing out here" Lucina said.
Cinder chuckled "I didn't get the chance to have a proper talk with you before. That breach really did rough up things".
"Why couldn't this talk wait until tomorrow?" Lucina asked.
"Because..." Cinder began as she placed a hand on Lucina's cheek "I wanted to spend some time with you now".
Lucina blushed "O-Ok... So what do you want?".
"Come now, Lucina. I know you are not dense. You know exactly what I want" Cinder said, in a hungry tone.
Lucina gulped, of course she knew, she isn't dense enough to miss something so obvious "I... I am flattered. But we don't know each other that well yet".
Cinder smiled, like a predator "Then let's get to know each other, better".
Before Lucina could respond, Cinder kissed her right on the lips. She gasped in surprise, and Cinder held her close... and soon Lucina felt Cinder's tongue invade her mouth. Lucina was so shocked and confused, she didn't even know what to do... until she felt Cinder's hand on her thigh, and it began moving further up. Only then did Lucina finally snap out of it.
"No!" She yelled as she managed to break the kiss "I... I...".
Realizing she had no words, Lucina simply ran away. Cinder watched her run and licked her lips, still tasting Lucina on them. She smirked evily. She had claimed one thing she wanted from Lucina. And soon enough, she will claim the rest. But there was no need to rush it. Soon, she will have everything she wants... everything.
As for Lucina, she ran back inside the dormitory, and stopped next to her room. She was breathing hard as she sat down next to the door, refusing to go back inside until she was sure she wouldn't wake up her team. She touched her lips as she realized Cinder had just stolen her first kiss... She covered her mouth with her hand... and began to sob, with tears running down her face.
Only one more thought went through her mind: What will happen now?
