Battle Against Deepsea Warrior Part 3
I don't own Digimon or Yu-Gi-Oh
"Let me guess, you've had enough suffering and you want to give up?" Gansley asked Yami with a cocky smirk.
"Guess again."
"Fine. You're only 500 life-points away from annihilation anyway." Gansley said, drawing his next card he smirked. "Excellent. Rainbow Snake Eingana, it could wipe him out in one attack right now." he thought. "But what fun would that be, I need to draw this duel out a bit longer. Now let's see…ah yes." Looking at his hand he saw he had another Ruklamba, another Ashingray and Melchid the Four Faced Beast. "I summon Melchid the Four Faced Beast in attack mode."
His new monster appeared on the field beside his already summoned Ruklamba, and he chuckled. "My first order of business is to destroy your Obnoxious Celtic Guardian; my Four Faced Beast should have enough attack points to destroy it and take a bite out of your life-points." He told Yami. "Attack now!"
Yami growled as Melchid flew across the water and slammed into his Celtic Guardian destroying it and his life-points fell to 400. The shockwave from the blow sent Yami falling to his knees as his Deck Master, Kuriboh, cooed in worry.
Meanwhile, the tribe of Hitotsu-Me Giants were in their cave all of them growling and snarling as they set about preparing a large fire while an unconscious Tea slowly came too as water dripped down from the ceiling of the cave.
The water droplets splashed on her face, and she opened her eyes slowly. "Today just isn't my day…" she thought, rubbing the cut on her face. "This is meant to be a virtual world…but everything feels so real. How am I going to get out of here?" she thought, looking at the hole in the ceiling of the cave that was far out of her reach. "You've got to hang in there guys…wherever you are out there…"
Slowly, Yami began pulling himself back to his feet. "Have you given up yet?"
"Never." Yami growled back at Gansley.
"Pardon?"
"You heard me, Gansley. As long as I still have life-points, I'll never give up." Yami replied, stumbling a bit as he stepped forward.
"You're more foolish than I thought, even the most rookie business owners know when it's time to close up shop. Not that it matters all that much to me, your life-point account will soon be empty, and I'll escape to the real world at last inside your scrawny body. And it all ends in my next attack!" Gansley said.
"He's right. I only have 400 life-points left, and as long as Gansley has at least two monsters on the field, he can activate Reflector Hole, bouncing all my attacks back at me." Yami thought.
"Alright boy, the time has come for you to make your final move in our virtual game. Then I will seal the deal once and for all. Leaving you trapped here in my place forever. You will have all the time in the world to contemplate your grim future. Sounds like fun, right?" Gansley said before he burst out laughing.
"Alright." Yami said, drawing his next card and he looked at it. "A Rainbow Blessing magic card. That's not going to help me at all. I need something powerful if I'm going to beat Gansley." He thought.
"Stalling won't help you. Success comes to men of action. No one ever got ahead in the corporate world by just waiting. That only leads to defeat which is where you're heading. And to think people call you the King of Games. If only those in the real world could see you now." Gansley said.
Yami looked at the card in his hand as Kuriboh began cooing and chirping at him. "Not now. I'm trying to concentrate." He told him gently.
"I think Kuriboh is trying to tell us that Rainbow Blessing could help us win." Yugi spoke up, appearing beside Yami for a moment and the two shared a look.
Yami paused before he nodded. "I did say I had faith in my Deck Master, now the time has come to put that faith to the test." He said and Kuriboh chirped happily. Yami set Rainbow Blessing in his duel disk and the card appeared face down in front of him. "I set one card and end my turn. It's your turn!" he told Gansley.
Meanwhile, Daisuke and Veemon pushed open another door as they continued their search for the others. "Come on out you Big Five jerks, let's get this duel over with. I'm tired of you all hiding from me!"
"We've got to find a way out of here so we can find the others." Veemon said in concern as they kept searching for a way out.
Tea was in a similar situation, she watched as the tribe of Hitotsu-Me giants began boiling a large pot of water over a large fire. "Oh no, they're planning to eat me." She thought in terror. "I need to find a way out before I'm the main course."
She heard a noise above her and looked up at the hole in the ceiling, she spotted a penguin standing there before it threw down a rope made of vines. "A penguin…okay…I've gone crazy…" she muttered as the penguin chirped again.
Back with Kaiba, Mokuba and White-Veemon, Mokuba held on tightly to his brother's hand as he and White-Veemon began pulling him back up to solid ground. "We've got you Mokuba, just hold on a bit longer." White-Veemon told the young boy, the surroundings around them changing to a cliff overlooking a raging ocean.
"Don't look down." Kaiba told him.
"Too late!" Mokuba whimpered. Kaiba grunted and eventually he and his Digimon pulled Mokuba back up onto the cliff.
"You're safe." Kaiba told him.
"Thank you…" Mokuba said softly, panting heavily as White-Veemon rubbed his back.
"This place is more dangerous than I realise. Somehow Noah has gotten his hands on virtual software that can replicate the sensation of touch." Kaiba said.
"Yeah. This is sort of like the Digital World. But I know there is no possible way Noah could have breached the Digital World's firewalls." White-Veemon said softly.
"That's a relief…" Mokuba said as he stood up.
"I don't know what kind of game Noah is playing at but it's not Duel Monsters. That punk doesn't know who he's messing with." Kaiba growled lowly, he turned around as Mokuba and White-Veemon looked at him. "Mokuba, no matter what you see from this point forward. The past is over, and I may not be proud of every decision I've made but everything I did I did for us so that we could have a better life. So, let's keep moving forward, and leave the past behind."
"Right." His younger brother said softly.
"I've a feeling the worst is yet to come." Kaiba said as they walked away from the cliff.
Back at the duel between Gansley and Yami, it was Gansley's turn, and he drew his next card. He smirked at what he drew. "I activate my magic card, Offerings to the Doomed. By skipping my next draw phase, this magic card allows me to destroy one monster on your side of the field. So, say goodbye to Chimera, your last line of defence."
A bright beam of light shot from under the water, striking Chimera and it was destroyed in a bright flash of light. "All your monsters have been destroyed."
"Wrong." Yami said. "You've forgotten the special ability of my Mythical Beast. When it is destroyed by battle, I can bring back one of the monsters I used to form Chimera. So come back, Berfomet!" the water in front of him rose, forming a vortex which parted to reveal Berfomet on the field in Defence position.
"It makes no difference to me. The end result will be the same once I play this card." Gansley said.
"What?" Yami whispered.
"I tribute my Wall of Illusion and Melchid the Four Faced Beast to summon Rainbow Snake Eingana!" Gansley shouted, his two monsters combining into a pilar of light which turned into a bright rainbow flash of light that slowly faded to reveal a massive snake like monster with rainbow-coloured scales, it hisses loudly as it towered above the other monsters on the field.
Yami and Kuriboh both recoiled in shock as they saw the monster had 2200 Attack points and 2400 Defence points. "Now my serpent put the bite on Berfomet!" Gansley commanded. His monster hissed and lunged for Yami's monster, grabbing it in its jaws it began swallowing the monster whole as it weakly struggled before the snake had consumed its meal.
"So much for your defensive monster Yugi, your life-points are wide open. I know it's a bit late, but here is some advice. The next time you want to swim with the big fish, pack a lifejacket because you're sinking fast. Not that there will be a next time. You're trapped here. Ruklamba the Spirit King, free me from this prison by striking Yugi down now!"
Ruklamba hissed and fired a crimson beam of energy from its mouth directly at Yami intent on finishing him off for good.
"This can't be!" Yami gasped only for the Millennium Puzzle to glow as Yugi took over and Kuriboh jumped in the way of the blast and began to multiply forming a barrier of Kuriboh's that blocked Ruklamba's constant barrage of attacks.
"Nice job Kuriboh!" Yugi said with a smile.
"But how are you still standing, your life-points should be gone!" Gansley shouted in disbelief.
"My Deck Master's special ability. Kuriboh formed a barrier to protect my life-points." Yugi said and his Deck Master chirped happily.
"Yugi, why have you taken over for me?" Yami asked the young boy.
"I thought I'd let you take a break to recover from all those direct attacks. One more shot could have destroyed you, so I jumped in to help." Yugi answered with a bright smile.
"Thank you. You're very brave." Yami said before he looked at Kuriboh. "And thank you as well Kuriboh." Kuriboh cooed and blushed bashfully.
Yugi smiled before the toll the duel had taken on Yami caught up to him and he fell forwards. "Yugi!" Yami said, catching the boy as he took over again. "Allow me to finish this duel. This won't take long."
"You're right about that. Just because that furball saved your life-points from one attack doesn't mean you've won. Now that you've activated Kuriboh's special ability, it has become a monster in play on the field. That means I can attack him next turn, when I destroy Kuriboh you'll automatically lose the duel." Gansley told him.
"Last I checked, this duel wasn't over yet." Yami said. "And I believe it's my turn."
"Go ahead, make your final move. What can your puny Kuriboh do except fail you?" Gansley said.
"Just wait and see." Yami said, drawing his next card and he smiled. "Allow me to give you some advice of my own, Gansley. Underestimating the small can be a big mistake. In Duel Monsters as well as in business. I guess they never taught you that on your climb up the corporate ladder. So Kuriboh and I will just have to teach you that lesson the hard way by eliminating you from this duel."
"You're just bluffing. It doesn't matter what card you've drawn." Gansley said.
"Really?" Yami asked, showing him the card that he just drew.
"Swift Gaia the Fierce Knight?" Gansley asked before he burst out laughing. "That is useless. Remember my special ability? Attack me right now and I will reflect the attack back to you, with only 400 life-points to spare you'll wipe yourself out."
"I wouldn't be so sure." Yami said and Gansley growled. "Activate face down card, behold the magic card Rainbow Blessing!" his face down card revealed itself and glowed brightly. "When this card is combined with Kuriboh a great power is released."
Kuriboh cooed softly as its body began glowing and its fur gained all colours of the rainbow. "What kind of stunt is this? Rainbows and furballs, you expect to beat me with this trick!?" Gansley shouted.
"Alright Kuriboh, form the rainbow arch!" Yami said and Kuriboh nodded and flew across the field forming a rainbow bridge from Yami's side of the field to the other.
"What is he doing?" Gansley questioned.
"You should look up the Deck Master rulebook." Yami said. "Now since I have no cards in my hand, I can summon Swift Gaia the Fierce Knight without a tribute summon." His knight appeared before him, the horse rearing up and neighing loudly.
"Now to put you out of business. Your monsters are not my targets, I am aiming directly for your life-points. Thanks to the rainbow arch I am able to bypass your monsters and strike you directly!"
Swift Gaia the Fierce Knight took off, galloping across the rainbow arch directly towards Gansley. "No! My Deck Master Ability doesn't work on direct attacks!" Gansley exclaimed.
"Yes I know. Thanks to Kuriboh I was able to find out your weakness. Now prepare to be crushed by the competition!" Yami told him.
Swift Gaia roared as he thrust both lances directly into Gansley's chest making the member of the Big Five scream in pain. "You little brat…I was so close to winning your body and leaving this virtual nightmare behind for good!" he shouted as his life-points fell to 0 and he vanished in a flash of light.
Yami fell to one knee and sighed in relief. "I'm glad that is over for now. Now to find our friends, who knows what danger Noah has put them in." he said as Kuriboh flew over to him. "Thank you again, Kuriboh." The duel monster chirped before fading away.
Meanwhile, Noah smirked as he watched the conclusion of the duel. "It seems Yugi was stronger than I thought. Or maybe the Big Five aren't the dueling experts they claim to be when I hired them. We'll just have to see how the others fare in the coming duels." He said.
Yami looked around before a door appeared beside him. "A passage." Yugi said, appearing beside Yami. "Let's check it out, we might find the others."
"You're right, perhaps that is where it leads. Our friends may be in great danger. Let's just hope we're not too late." Yami said, opening the door before walking through it, the door shut behind him and it vanished.
