Shinji and Kaede's night in the hotel

After Shinji removed his pants, Kaede started to feel nervous. She had a reason to be nervous; Shinji and she were about to cross a line they were originally supposed to hold off on crossing. But…they did love each other and were committed to each other ever since they met last year in Shiganshina. And they couldn't deny their growing affection for one another.

Shinji turned to look at her and gave another small smile. She returned the smile as he climbed into the bed beside her.

"I…I'm not sure how to go about this," he told her.

"Me, either," she replied, somewhat grateful that, despite removing his clothes, he kept his boxers on a while longer. "Uh…maybe we should start with kissing…and we'll see where that takes us. We have all night."

"Okay. I'll let you start."

Kaede moved towards Shinji and wrapped her arms around his back as she proceeded to kiss him, sending them falling on the sheets as she was now on top of him.

Shinji had placed his hands on her back as he felt Kaede's tongue slip into his mouth; he didn't expect her to be bolder than he was right now. Actually, he hadn't expected himself to be in such a position with Kaede, or any girl for that matter, and finding himself enjoying this moment. He could feel her breath on his face.

"Mmm…mmm," Kaede moaned as she felt his tongue in her mouth.

Suddenly, her right hand started to move downward, towards the bottom of her shirt, and she pulled it up when she ceased the kissing, pulling it over her head and tossing it to the floor.

"Am I going too fast?" She asked him.

"No," he answered, taking in the full view. "You're fine."

Sure enough when they went on their double date with Historia and Ymir, Kaede was still small in the boobs department, but after a while she stopped caring about her size. Even when she turned into her Dark Titan in an influenced form based on the Female Titan, it was difficult for most to draw comparisons between hers and Annie's Titan; Annie's looked like a larger, skinless version of herself while Kaede's was just a version that had more feminine features instead of the androgynous appeal that most of the Titans possessed. But Shinji, seeing her breasts exposed to his eyes instead of being covered, had nothing bad to say about her bosom; Kaede was simply beautiful without compare to other women he'd seen.

In an act of self-control, Kaede, who had really wanted to reach for Shinji's boxers, went for her shirt instead; there was no need to rush things. And Kaede didn't want to spoil the moment with Shinji. If there was one thing the girl had to show that was quite a feat in people that possessed the power of the Titans, it was restraint; to demonstrate no measure of self-control was to show others that anyone that could turn into a Titan with any type of ability that could be used to benefit a community was not capable of being trusted to any degree. Self-control was a must…and it was a precious ability that needed to be shown, even in the most solitary of moments with others…like this one.

Shinji kissed her again as his right hand found its way to her left breast. It reminded him of that time he was at Rei's apartment, but this was better because, unlike that time, which was completely accidental and unintentional, he was being permitted by his girlfriend to touch her there. He felt her left hand caress his shoulder and neck; even though they were still just moving around, he felt better with her.

"Mm," Kaede went, feeling something underneath her that felt restricted, and looked down at Shinji. "I guess that's a sign that you're excited."

"Eh-heh," Shinji chuckled. "Yeah."

"Hey, don't be embarrassed. That's a good thing."

Shinji was no stranger to sexual education, but what he had learned in school was very…limited. After he discovered the technology that Paradius City possessed that was years ahead of what the people knew back then, he spent his spare time brushing up on whatever he could. If there was a schooling system reestablished during the time the Eldians had reclaimed the city, it was likely that those blessed with new knowledge from the past would impart such important lessons to the next generation.

"Whenever you're ready to move forward," she told him.

He wasn't ready to move further just yet, but he was tempted to do something else. With little hesitation, he moved his head to Kaede's right breast…and wrapped his mouth around her nipple, causing her to gasp.

"Oh!" Kaede went, surprised by Shinji's next move. I didn't think you'd do this, Shinji. Very bold of you. Very, very bold.

Bold…and crazy about Kaede, Shinji didn't think he'd do something like this, either. This was just something he thought would please her. He felt her hands on either side of his head and she fell on him completely, hearing her shudder in ecstasy.

"I just…did it," he answered her.

Both teens looked down at where the girl was on top…and again, despite being told not to be embarrassed in front of her, Shinji couldn't help but blush. This had Kaede assuming that, despite Shinji's own restraint with her, the limited restriction in his boxers had to be a groaner. At least that was how she was thinking, anyway.

"I think if we put it off any longer," she told him, reaching down between them with her right hand, "you'd probably tear a hole in these."

Kaede had grabbed the top of his briefs and tugged them down, freeing his restricted appendage.

Shinji was surprised by her own boldness. And then he gasped when she put her hand on him down there for the first time.

"Ah, Kaede," he went.

"You should lie still for a minute," she told him, smiling as she then spread her legs onto either side of him as she positioned herself onto him. "Ah…ah…"

Unlike what she could access in memories from the collective well of knowledge from all the Titan Shifters that came before her and her own experiences as a Titan Shifter, this was a completely different pain that Kaede was experiencing. It wasn't a knife or a rock that she was being harmed with of her own volition; it was a part of her boyfriend, and the area she was being harmed in was a part of herself. As she lowered herself further down onto him slowly, she felt his hands grab her wrists as he looked at her with concern and discomfort; she could see how he was afraid of hurting her…but this wasn't really his fault…and she felt her progress halted.

"Kaede," he uttered to her, feeling where they were connected, the concern on his face for her discomfort more upsetting than his own discomfort.

"It's okay, Shinji," she told him, but she knew it wasn't; neither of them had ever done this before, so her hymen, the one part of her that she was sure wouldn't regenerate like her arms, legs and organs would if she was ever severely injured, and it was just in the way now. "Just…give me a moment. Ahh…"

She raised herself up a little…and then brought herself back down on him, feeling him reach deep within her.

"Aaah!" Shinji gasped, feeling something like a thin layer of something smooth had been pierced open by him.

"Ugh!" Kaede followed suit, her hymen now broken and feeling Shinji fully immersed within her, and she panted for a few moments as the pain subsided. "It's…my first time…but you…feel really good, Shinji."

"Thank you, Kaede, but…are you alright? I didn't want to hurt you like this."

"I'm okay. And this only happens the first time. It's only because of you that I am able to experience this. I never thought that I could ever be with someone I love this way."

This brought up her memories of her greatest fear of being around other men and one of them took advantage of her vulnerability. And now…that fear was no longer a driving force in how she was around people now that she knew better because of Shinji. She could have children that would be like other people's children. There wasn't a day that went by where she would think about that day happening. Lowering her head down onto his chest, she bit on the nipple on his left side.

"Ah…Kaede…Kaede," Shinji gasped, feeling slightly out of his comfort zone now; it wasn't difficult for him to feel this way with a girl he was involved with, completely now.

She felt him wrap his arms around her back.

"Maybe…you should be on top now, Shinji," she told him.

"Why?"

"Because…I don't want to be the one calling the shots all the time. You should call shots, too."

She raised up in front of him and smiled. He smiled back and raised up in front of her, placing his arms on her shoulders and leaning in to kiss her. It was crazy, having to decide which one of them was in control of what they were doing, but Shinji, despite his growing endurance to stand up for himself and his own beliefs and opinions, as well of those of others that he chooses to stand up for, he was comfortable with Kaede being more in control at the moment because he didn't want to hurt her, even though it was next to impossible for him to hurt her permanently because she could recover from any harm due to her Titan powers. And for Kaede, she didn't exercise control over anyone except for the Wall Titans around Paradis; with Shinji, control was next to impossible because she didn't want to control him. No, they were equals in their relationship; neither was the dominant in what they were to each other.

Slowly, Shinji turned them over so that now he was on top of Kaede, looking down at her with eyes that couldn't help but marvel at her beauty and personality.

"You're so…wonderful, Kaede," he told her.

"You're wonderful, too, Shinji," she told him, and braced herself for what was to come now.

Shinji placed his palms on either side of Kaede on the bed…and pulled back a little. And then…he pushed forward, back into Kaede.

"Ungh!" He groaned, feeling like he had just pricked himself under something that was like a bag, only its texture was different.

Kaede moved a little when she felt Shinji's first thrust. It didn't really hurt, but it reminded her of her former timidity that stemmed from her fear of others. This…was just something they needed to work on.

"We're…we're joined, Shinji," she told him, and he thrust again.

"Are you feeling alright, Kaede?" He asked her.

"I'm feeling fine, Shinji. How does this feel for you? Good…or bad?"

"It feels…good. Really…good."

"Knowing that…really…makes me…feel better."

Having started, Shinji found himself unable to stop. He wasn't even sure if he could stop; Kaede's walls had surrounded him and he could barely get away.

"Kaede…I…I can't…can't stop," he told her as she raised her arms to hold his shoulders.

"I can't…stop, either," she responded, barely able to raise up her upper body, so she wrapped her legs around his back, entrapping him in her embrace. "Shinji…Shinji…"

She then gasped as she went wide-eyed, seeing Shinji and herself surrounded by stars, fireworks, ocean waves and a bonfire on the beach as she felt herself wrapping her arms tightly around Shinji…and then feeling her legs tighten their hold on him. Inside, she felt like something akin to a dam had burst open and caused a flood; if this was how an orgasm felt, especially the very first one with someone you love, it was quite a feeling, pleasant and indescribable to a degree.

"Shinji, you…you…you're very… Whoa…ah…ah…" She uttered, her words incoherent and unable to reach her brain properly.

"Ah…ah…ah…" Shinji reacted, his eyes wide and glazed over from what had just happened between them, and then he collapsed upon Kaede's chest, breathless. What was that just now?

"Bliss, Shinji," he heard Kaede say under him. "It was bliss."

And it was blissful, indeed, for both of them. As Shinji got off Kaede and laid on her right side of the bed, he looked at her like she was the most incredible person he had ever met, and she really was. He raised his right hand to her caress face and smiled. She raised her left hand and caressed his back.

"I love you, Shinji," she told him.

"I love you, too, Kaede," he replied, and then they leaned into each other and kissed again before they passed out from exhaustion.

Feeling as though she was anywhere but inside the hotel suite with Shinji right now, Kaede opened her eyes to find herself laying in the sandy, grassy terrain the realm of the Eldian Paths took for her whenever she went there. Rising up to observe her surroundings, she saw them in a different light now; the environment was still the same, but her perception of the place was different after her first time with Shinji. A little surprisingly, she was naked as she had been when she fell asleep beside Shinji in the hotel suite, which she didn't let bother her, since she was in a different place right now that nobody else had the ability to enter without access to the power of the Titans that she now possessed solely.

You will know you're reborn tonight…

"Kaede?" She heard Shinji's voice behind her, and she turned to face him, seeing him standing there, also in the same state of undress as she was.

"Hey, there," she greeted him, going over to hold him.

He hugged her and looked around the mystical terrain that was where his lover's ancestress had resided for generations until released by Kaede several months back.

"Does this place seem different to you?" He asked her as he looked up at the sky.

"Yeah, it is," she answered him. "It's different because we're different from who we were just moments ago. We can see it through different eyes."

Shinji accepted her explanation to why this place seemed different to them. He reached for her left hand and held it in his right hand.

The lights in the night sky became brighter and the sand beneath their feet became just as bright.

"I don't think there will ever be a place as mystifying as this one is," Shinji expressed.

"Yeah," Kaede agreed, and walked forward, leading them towards whatever they could go in this realm. "Mystifying and beautiful."

So cry no more, oh, my beloved…
