( Sly Voice-Over)
Explaining Thaddeus's arrival to Interpol was easier than expected: the second Barkley saw him, he decided Thaddeus was my grandfather. (Chief Barkley shakes Thaddeus's hand and guides him to a seat as Sly looks bemused.) The other members of Interpol are relieved to see I have a family: the rumor mill said I was secretly actually, well, me. (Sly walks by several other officers, who greet him with handshakes and slaps on the back.) Since it's well known that Sly Cooper, international criminal, had no living relatives, my uncle and grandfather make them sure I can't be the same person. They even tell me to take some time off to spend with my family (The scene cuts to an all-Cooper heist.) It goes well.
It's a good thing the hide-out has extra room, but dinner times are still a little cramped. (Everyone is gathered around a table as Murray walks in with a chef's apron and oven mitts on, a humongous pot in his hands. He drops it in the center of the table.) We were just sitting down to eat one night when The Guru contacted us. (As Murray lifts the lid of the pot, a cloud of steam bursts out, then forms itself into the shape of The Guru, deep in meditation.) He's been traveling South America, communing with spirits and refining dreamtime techniques. He's getting Bad Vibes from Bolivia, the sort that he thinks needs our intervention. (As the voice-over continues, and the Guru explains, Murray hugs his old teacher. The Guru's steam-form hugs back.) Robot vibes. We didn't have any other leads, and besides, the Guru's never lead us wrong before.
So we packed our bags, gave notice to Interpol, and flew to Bolivia. (Sly and Carmelita are out of uniform but not particularly disguised in the front row, Bentley and Murray-dressed as an old man and his helper-in the third row. In the middle row is Thaddeus, dressed appropriately for a Victorian-era Gentleman, and Tennessee, in jean shorts and a biker jacket with a skateboard on his lap, talking excitedly and waving his arms-and occasionally, the skateboard.) We don't know what we're getting into... but we're ready.
