Harry Potter and a Sirius Matter

I don't own Harry Potter or any rights pertaining thereto. This story will start with Harry Potter in the King's Cross Waiting Room and be AU to canon. Pairings may or may not be canon. Events may not be as first published by JK Rowling and are not intended to suggest new canon.

The moon set at 18:30 on 6 June 1994 and was a waning, not full moon. For this story the date will be kept as published as a full moon in The Prisoner of Azkaban and moonrise will by 18:30, when Remus Lupin began to change into his werewolf form. The sunset at around 21:00 will be 21:40 in story to reflect Hogwarts northerly location.

James Birdsong noted that I had Harry ask Hermione why Buckbeak had ripped her to shreds. I'll address that in this chapter.

In bed, Harry thought about their walk, together, through Hogwarts to the Gryffindor dorm. Hermione kept looking at Harry, briefly and then turning away.

"Alright, Hermione what is it that you want to ask me?" Harry asked.

Hermione took a deep breath. "Why did you ask me why Buckbeak had ripped me to shreds?"

"You hadn't done the ritual greeting so I had expected Buckbeak to rip you to shreds. That's how it came out. You assumed correctly what I actually meant." Harry stopped for a moment. "That was the question you wanted to ask me?" Harry asked, though it was more of an exclamation.

"Why did you kiss me?" Hermione was now all matter of fact, as though she were collecting data for an essay.

Harry was now on the spot. He thought Hermione might not appreciate knowing that it was to see how Ron would react. "Ah, it felt right."

"It felt right?" Hermione asked, crossly.

"You think that it meant you'd have to let me do things to you to keep our friendship going? Well, it doesn't. Our friendship will carry on. More than friends, I hope. Sure, you've done things I don't like and we'll talk about those. You were the one who got me through the riddle to face Quirrellmort. You solved the mystery of the monster last year. It wasn't your fault we couldn't save Sirius. There were a couple of more experienced wizards who failed to catch the rat and they knew better than either of us what it could do. I was going to have my Firebolt checked. You just beat me to it. Sorry, I was annoyed about that. I shouldn't have taken Ron's side. I do that too much. I'm worried I'll lose the first friend I ever made. You're the one who makes sure I get my work done, though it shouldn't be your job. You tried to save Buckbeak, even attending hearings at the Ministry. I am sure you impressed people there. You punched Malfoy. I think I have to protect you somehow. I, Harry James Potter, Head of House Potter offer Hermione Jean Granger the protection of House Potter."

"I, Hermione Jean Granger accept the Protection of House Potter."

There was a blue magical glow surrounding both of them. Why did you do that, Harry?"

"It felt right!" they both chorused.

Hermione had given Harry the time-turner. That had gone into the trunk. Harry would put it in his Gringotts Vault on the morrow.

As Hermione had turned to go up the stairs to the girls dorm, Harry asked, "Friendship and bravery and?"

"Love." Hermione had whispered.

Harry woke early and got himself showered and dressed. He went down to eat. Severus Snape was also an early riser. Harry went over and apologized to Professor Snape for sending him into the wall in Shrieking Shack and saying that Sirius was very plausible. Snape was shocked to say the least. His reaction was unusual. He helped himself to extras. Slytherin NEWT students could never remember his ever doing that before.

Harry sent Hedwig off with a letter to the Dwarves of Edinburgh saying that he'd killed a Basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets, under Hogwarts but not part of it and thus part of Magical Scotland. Hedwig scoffed at the address. The owl still flew off, though.

Wearing the time-turner around his neck, under his clothes, Harry set off through the floo with the Minister and party. They soon turned up at Administrative Registration Services. It was on second level. It was part of the Department for Magical Law Enforcement. Unusually, it was also where Amelia Bones could be found. She was present for the Will reading of one Sirius Orion Black. Everyone took their places in the room. Dumbledore had no real wish for Harry to be present, unfortunately the Minister and Senior Undersecretary had taken a shine to him. The Official, Reginald Golding Flint, began to read.

Hi Everyone, this is the Last Will and Testament of Sirius Orion Black of sound mind even after a dozen years in Azkaban without trial, I might add, and of total awesomeness and handsomeness.

Harry James Potter I failed you in life, but not in death. I am your Magical Guardian, Godfather and pronounce that from the moment of my death, you are Emancipated. I leave everything to you. You'll have to see the Black account manager at Gringotts; Slingshott's his name. You should see the Potter account manager, too. I don't know his name. You should have seen him that first time you went to Gringotts. We didn't speak enough for me to find out if you had.

For the Minister et al (not as awesome as I) I, Sirius Orion Black, was not the Potters' Secret Keeper. As I told you, Harry, I was the dummy Secret Keeper, not the real one. I also did not receive a full Wizengamot trial or any trial at all.

Harry you should stay behind. The next bit is for you and you alone. Sorry, everyone else, there are no bequests.

Harry saw Lucius Malfoy leave with his brows knitted together. Harry wondered if he'd stick like it. Harry promised Amelia Bones he would visit her after his business here was complete. The Minister and Senior Undersecretary left with Amelia Bones.

"If you are ready, Lord Potter," Reginald said. Harry sat up straight. "Lord Black wanted you to learn some of what you inherited. Lord Black blood-adopted you into House Black. These are the head of House rings for the Potter and Black Houses. Lord Black wished to do this with you earlier, but the Gringotts account manager for House Potter was never available. The words to claim each ring are I, Harry James Potter, Head of House Potter claim the Lord ring of House Potter and all titles pertaining thereto by right of inheritance and by right of conquest.

Before you do that, Lord Black wished for you to take an inheritance test. Just a few drops of your blood." Harry gave a few drops of blood. The parchment turned from blank to provide the information Harry expected. When he came to the titles he was shocked. He was Lord of Gryffindor, Ravenclaw and Slytherin by inheritance and Lord to Slytherin and Hufflepuff by conquest. That meant Voldie was descended from Slytherin and had conquered Hufflepuff. Harry chuckled. He had been the Heir of Slytherin. Who knew? That was actually a very good question. Harry was Lord Peverell, Lord Potter and Lord Black. The only Peverell Harry had ever seen was in the book Tales of Beedle the Bard. That had been the tale of the three brothers. And Death. King's Cross hadn't been a dream.

Harry had loyalty compulsions towards the Weasleys and Albus Dumbledore. He had an 85% block on his magic. He was tied to the Wards of Hogwarts and a ward at 4 Privet Drive that drained magic from him. He had a 100% block on occlumency, legilimency, animagus magic and natural parseltongue. Reginald explained that the Head of House rings would remove the blockages. They would also remain invisible on Harry's fingers, until he wanted them displayed.

Harry said the words and claimed his house rings. He didn't feel different. Reginald made 2 copies. One for their records and one for Amelia Bones and her case file. Harry felt pleased that Amelia Bones had opened a file for him.

Dumbledore tried to stop Harry from going into Amelia Bones' office. Harry reminded Albus that he'd been there when Amelia had asked him to stop by. Amelia poked her head out of the door. Her famous monocle was in her eye. Harry wondered, if it was similar to Mad-Eye Moody's eye and had spells in built.

"Still here, Headmaster. I'm sure I assigned Aurors to escort you out."

"I told them I could find my own way out. I wanted to escort Harry back to Hogwarts."

"Harry is required to answer my questions. Unless he wants you present?" Harry shook his head. "Make your own way out." Dumbledore departed.

Amelia indicated that Harry should sit. Harry did.

"Aren't we going to shake hands?" Harry inquired.

"No, wizards don't shake hands, except to seal deals." Amelia watched Harry turn pale. "Who have you shaken hands with?"

"Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, Arthur Weasley, Neville Longbottom and Hagrid, I think. I didn't shake Draco Malfoy's hand."

"At least you have some modicum of self-preservation. From my niece's descriptions of your Quidditch games I had my doubts. Falling off a broom at 100 feet above the ground from every Dementor around Hogwarts converging on you is not sensible."

"I heard Dumbledore cast a cushioning spell. I wasn't worried. My magic would have saved me. It did before when I was nearly seven and I brought back a report card that was outstanding. My Aunt's husband nearly beat me to death and took the whole family, but me on holiday. I have few memories about that. I have no idea how I got to hospital, but I know I wished my self there. I woke up next morning back there. It's like the memories are there, but behind a wall I just can't get through. My back bears the scars of his beatings."

"You were safe and well cared for?"

"I was called Boy or Freak by all of them. I didn't know my own name until I started muggle school aged 5. I was frequently sent to my cupboard-under the stairs without food for days on end. I had to do all the chores. I am an expert chef. They told me my parents had been killed in a car crash and had been drunken unemployed layabouts."

Harry showed Amelia his back. Amelia had a camera handy and took some pictures. Harry put his shirt back on.

"How did you come to be there? My parents died October 31 1981 and my muggle relatives found me on the front doorstep on the morning of the 2nd November. Apparently, McGonagall was one of those there. She said they were the worst sort of muggle and she's right, they are. Dumbledore insists I go back there each summer. I don't know what happened to my parents' house, I've never been there. Pettigrew was the secret keeper."

"I am sorry you said Pettigrew and then the words are jumbled up."

"I think I just proved Sirius Black was not my parents' Secret Keeper. Oh, I met two wizards, Emmeline Vance who shook my hand and Daedalus Diggle who almost shook my arm off. I was 8 or 9 at the time. Hagrid took me shopping for my first year supplies. Must have had 27 letters come through. My muggle relatives were determined I wasn't going to go to Hogwarts. I don't remember if I shook anyone's hands in the Leaky Cauldron. Took me to Gringotts and had my Vault Key. He said Dumbledore had the Key in his possession. I made sure I kept the Key.

Hagrid said I was a legacy student. I don't know what that means. I've never seen a Hogwarts rule book or any material Hogwarts presumably gives to muggleborn. I suppose I should have asked to borrow Hermione's. I've looked in the Library, both sections and I can't find any books on Wizarding Etiquette or genealogy. I've tried ordering three books that Hermione mentioned that first train journey, but the order never seems to get through. Modern Magical History, The Rise and Fall of the Dark Arts, and Great Wizarding Events of the Twentieth Century.

Quirrellmort was in the Leaky Cauldron. I wished I had shaken his hand. His flesh would have turned to dust then saving me the whole year of unwanted adventure."

"Quirrellmort?"

"Didn't Susan tell you?"

"Why don't you so I know I've got the whole story."

"Halloween, not my favourite time of year, and Hermione shut herself in a girls loo. There's a troll released into Hogwarts. I drag Ron along to find Hermione. He never did apologize. We hear the troll in there with Hermione. Ron locks her in there. I unlock it and go in. I jump on the troll's back and stick my wand up its nose. Shame I didn't know any offensive spells. Ron then uses Wingardium Leviosa to knock the troll out. Surprised me, because he couldn't even pronounce it that morning.

I was in detention in the Forbidden Forest with Hagrid when I came across a figure drinking Unicorn's blood. Firenze chased it off. I know now that it was Quirrellmort. He was after the Philosopher's Stone that Dumbledore had hidden in the Mirror of Erised. There were a whole series of defences starting with Hagrid's Cerebus Fluffy and ending with Snape's potion riddle. I confront Quirrelmort who didn't have a terrible stutter, but did have Voldemort growing out of the back of his head. He wanted a new body. I turned the flesh to dust and a wraith came towards me. I got hit by a full strength stunner and woke up in the Infirmary three days later speaking to Dumbledore. He said the whole school knew. I don't know how. He wouldn't tell me why Voldemort was after me.

Then I had Dobby, the house-elf I freed visit me to tell me I couldn't go back to Hogwarts for dangerous things had been set in motion. Naturally I refused so Dobby used a floating charm to give my muggle relatives' visitors an up close and personal view of desert. I'd spent hours making that perfect. I get a warning from Mafalda Hopkirk. That tells my relatives I can't do magic out of school. I'd been moved to Dudley's second bedroom and then I got fed through a cat flap, the door was locked from the outside and my window had bars fitted. I was rescued by Fred, George and Ron Weasley using Arthur's flying car. Odd, considering I had never told them where I lived.

Molly did accompany me to my Vault and I saw what they had. Or what they didn't. Dobby stopped Ron and me going to the Express. We then flew up to Hogwarts. Ended up near the Acromantulas. Ron wasn't much use. We'd have a second run it with the spiders. Ron was no use then either. The car was. Lot of balls that car. Lockhart tried to obliviate us and brought the roof down. Then I went to find Ginny near death, a diary that Lucius Malfoy had planted on her, that belonged to Tom Marvolo Riddle. May I use my wand." Amelia nodded. "Tom Marvolo Riddle I am Lord Voldemort. He described it as Ginny pouring her soul into the diary giving him form. Then I fought the basilisk. Had a bit of help. Fawkes flew in and blinded it and the Sorting Hat delivered the Sword of Gryffindor. I killed the basilisk, its fang broke off in my right arm. Fawkes cried over it. I used the fang to stab the diary and Tom faded away. Fawkes flew everyone out of there. I freed Dobby. Malfoy started a spell Ava and Dobby introduced him to a wall."

"What did Sirius tell you?"

"He said he'd got to my parents' house, met Hagrid coming down the stairs carrying me and demanded me. Hagrid said he was under orders from Dumbledore to take me to Hogwarts. Sirius loaned him his flying motorcycle. Shouldn't he have secured the crime scene? Sirius then went after Pettigrew. Cornered him. Pettigrew cut off his own finger segment and blew up a gas main killing a dozen muggles. He turned into a rat and left. Sirius said the next morning he woke up in Azkaban. Something else Sirius said. Barty Crouch and his sick wife visited their son. Is that permitted? With Polyjuice two enter and two leave and there's still a prisoner who conveniently dies."

Amelia kept her countenance in place. It was a struggle.

"Have you heard your parents' Wills?"

"No."

"Let's go back across to Admin." Harry got dressed properly. Amelia noted the time-turner.

"What's that?"

Harry knew he was caught. "It's a family heirloom. It belonged to Lord Charlus Potter. I got it off Hermione who'd been using it to get to classes this year. She said it came from the Ministry, but I know this is not a Ministry Time-Turner. I'm going to put it in my main Vault, if I've got one." Harry showed Amelia the inscription.

"Before we go, is there anything else you'd like to tell me?" Amelia said that in a tone adults use with children whom they know have another guilty secret.

"I offered Hermione the Protection of House Potter, yesterday night and she accepted. I don't know what I did, it just felt right."

Amelia's monocle finally fell out. That was the last thing she'd expected to hear. She sealed up her office. They made their way back to the Admin office. Reginald was still on duty.

"Please read me the Potter Wills."

"All of them Lord Potter."

"Yes, all those that have not been read," Harry said.

"Madam Bones, I will have to ask you to leave."

"They form part of the case I am working on."

Reginald read the Wills of James Potter, Lily Potter, Fleamont Potter, Euphemia Potter, Charlus Potter and Dorea Potter.

"Have you ever sent me letters asking me to come in and hear the Wills being read."

"Yes, several."

"I never received any letters from you. Come to think of it. I've never received any fan letters, either. I've quite a lot to ask my Goblin account manager about have I not?"

"You have indeed Lord Potter-Black. Goblins are not noted for their cooperative natures."

"I invoke Sacred 28 confidentiality." Harry didn't know where that had come, but there was that blue flash of magic. Harry thanked Fate, Destiny and Death. Amelia Bones had confirmation that the Potters were still members of the Sacred 28. She thought she saw a flash revealing the Potter Head of House ring.

Amelia Bones and Harry Potter made their way to Gringotts. Harry showed his key and requested a meeting with the Potter account manager. He also asked for a meeting with the Black account manager Slingshott 10 minutes after that.

Amelia stated her reason for being there was possible fraud. They soon found their way to Blackaxe's office. He was the Potter account manager. Had been for over 30 years. They sat down.

"I have a deposit to make in the main Potter vault."

"I'm afraid you can't access that until you're 21. The Key is here at Gringotts and will be held until you are 21. Your other main vault is the Fleamont Vault. You can't access that until you're 17. The Key will be kept here until you are."

"Tell me why you didn't retain my Vault Key and present it to me when I came in here the first time aged 11. You've had two further occasions to meet me when I came in to draw money out. You didn't. Why not?" Harry raised his voice at the end.

Goblin guards entered. Harry explained what had happened when he was 11 and named Griphook as the teller. The guards went off to converse with Griphook.

"I want to see my account, Vault 687," Harry demanded. Harry had to summon some Gryffindor courage.

Blackaxe produced a single sheet of paper with numbers on it. It was the account summary. He'd withdrawn 600 galleons. He thought he had 400 in his trunk. That was before he knew Ron knew how to get in his trunk. 155 payments of 100 galleons a month to the Dursleys, 15,500. 15000 for prepaid school fees. 2000 for a Nimbus 2000. Harry had been told it was a gift. He'd paid 10500 galleons for three Weasleys, 5000 for another two and 2500 for two more. That made 18000 galleons. That was 51,100 galleons. Initial sum 72000 galleons. Blackaxe had paid himself 1200 galleons and there were a further 600 galleons going to Ron Weasley and 200 to Hermione Granger. Total spend 53100 galleons out of 72000 galleons. Harry had 18900 galleons remaining."

You receive a copy of Wills, including those sealed, do you not?" Amelia Bones asked.

"We do," Blackaxe replied.

"There are a number of discrepancies. Lord Potter-Black's parents made it clear in their Wills that Harry was not to go to the Dursleys. You failed to hold his Vault Key here at Gringotts. You have paid yourself for unspecified reasons. The Key has been with Lord Potter-Black since the beginning of his first year in 1991, so how were these payments authorised. As a Legacy student of a pureblood house, the sum is 5000 galleons, not 15000. You have had this account, which is solely for the education of the named holder paying out money to others. Who authorised this?"

"I was told that the Nimbus 2000 was a gift. I did not authorise the expenditure. Who authorised the payments to Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger?"

"I assure you it was done by people using your Vault Key."

"Your assurances are worthless," Harry said. He was now getting angry. You knew I was not to go to the Dursleys, yet you're sending them money every month."

A senior account manager entered with guard and they took Blackaxe away. Harry heard the thud of an axe taking the head off of a goblin.

"I am Senior Account Manager Tranok. I shall be taking over the Potter account. Any liability Gringotts had to you Lord Potter-Black ended with the death of Blackaxe. I just love the ignorance of Wizards.

Harry's anger continued to mount. "You steal from my account and have the gall to tell me I am screwed."

"That's right, wizard. I'll arrange for Slingshott to come in and deal with your other business. Have a good day, Lord Potter-Black."

"Hagrid tells me there are goblins to a depth of 100 miles below London's streets."

"We are a numerous race, human."

"Tha bàs air tighinn. Tha ath-dhìoladh a-nis," Harry said as his anger exploded. It went from below Gringotts living quarters all the way down a hundred miles and all the way back up. Goblins died. Died in vast numbers. Harry knew he'd said Death is come. Retribution is now. He did not know he'd said it in gaelic.

"Now, we are even," Harry said. "I hope what you stole from me was worth all the goblins who just died. Take any money from any of my accounts without my personal authorisation or try any form of retribution and I shall come back and finish you off. Have a good day, Tranok. I look forward to working with you over many prosperous years. I think I'll take a rain check on the other matters."

Amelia Bones escorted Harry Potter out of Gringotts. Harry hadn't made it to his main Vault for the Time-Turner. Amelia took Harry home with her to Bones Manor. She had her house-elf Mirrel go pickup Harry's trunk and possessions. Harry found he was down 100 galleons. Amelia bought him the three books, A History of Magic, Hogwarts: A History and Wizarding Etiquette and Wizarding genealogy from a bookstore she knew in Knockturn Alley. Amelia was shocked at the vehemence with which Harry declared he wanted his money back. Every penny from the Weasleys.

Harry accepted the Life Debt Ginny Weasley owed him. Amelia had far more on her hands than Barty Crouch sending Sirius Black to Azkaban without trial. Still that was her first order of business. She returned to her office and wrote up that Sirius Black was not the Potters Secret Keeper. He was the decoy. Fudge was the first auror on the scene with Muggle deaths. As he should, he secured the crime scene. Sirius Black was gone when he was free to check and sent to Azkaban without trial. Barty Crouch was not interested in hearing from Fudge that he hadn't checked Sirius Black's wand. There was a possibility that he had arranged for his son's escape from Azkaban during an illegal visit.

This was all music to Fudge's ears. Crouch had been and still was a rival. He signed search warrants for Crouch Manor. He was vindicated when Barty Crouch Junior was found. He received the Dementors Kiss. Fudge actually praised Amelia Bones. Crouch Senior was untouchable until he'd been found guilty at the full Wizengamot. The Daily Prophet would print the story almost verbatim.

That afternoon Amelia Bones was summoned to Hogwarts. Dumbledore had been furious the time-turner had been given to Harry Potter. He'd expelled Hermione Granger. She was crying. Amelia Bones told Dumbledore that he couldn't expel Hermione Granger. She was being arresting for theft from Harry Potter. The time stamps confirmed Harry's filing charges had occurred before Dumbledore's expulsion. Dumbledore's twinkle ceased.

"I'll use the floo in your office to take Hermione Granger in and my niece Susan. Do tell her she'll getting an early start to Summer as I'm taking her out of school, now."

"You must return Harry Potter. It is essential that he return to his relatives."

"Harry Potter is in protective custody." Amelia saw Hermione start at Protective. "He is a witness in an important case and we cannot risk anyone getting to him."

Susan Bones soon turned up with her trunk and Hermione's. Dumbledore demanded to know why Hermione was also being withdrawn from the year.

"She is charged with a serious offence. Ministry accommodation is usual."

"I am Chief Warlock."

"When cases are ready to proceed to the Wizengamot, you will be notified."

"I am Hermione Granger's Magical Guardian."

"Only when she is in Hogwarts. She's been arrested, so your responsibility is ended." The three went through the floo to Amelia's office. There she found Dawlish trying to restrain a group of Goblins. Low enough for only Susan and Hermione to hear, Amelia said, "Any form of retribution."

The Goblins turned on their heels and made their way out. Susan and Hermione looked at other wondering the exact same thing, what was going on.

"Dawlish secure Hermione Granger for interrogation and bring 3 drops of veritaserum." Dawlish did as he was ordered. Susan watched, concerned. She didn't know Hermione Granger at all, but she wouldn't wish this sort of interrogation on anyone.

"State your name."

"Hermione Jean Granger."

"When you shook hands with Harry James Potter in your first year on the Hogwarts Express what did you want?"

"A friend. I didn't have any."

"Why did you take 200 galleons to act against Harry James Potter?"

"He knows. I confessed."

"Did you know the 200 galleons was from Harry James Potter's own account?"

"No."

"Would you have taken the money had you known?"

"Yes,"

"Why?"

"My parents didn't want me to attend Hogwarts. They'll pay my fees and basic books. I always buy more than that and I didn't have any money. I don't get a monthly allowance. That 200 galleons has to last me. Apart from Charms, Transfiguration, DADA this year, Runes and Arithmancy the education I receive at Hogwarts is crap. It's not worth the £25000 a year my parents pay. I'd get a far better muggle education at a muggle boarding school for half the price."

"Does Harry know that you took the money?"

"No."

The questions ended. Hermione looked guilty.

"Prepare Cell 5 for Miss Granger. I will take her first to my home and then on to where Harry James Potter is been kept to see if he wishes to continue to press charges. Miss Granger will be gone overnight."

"I see," Dawlish said. "Those kinds of negotiations." He nodded sagely and went off to do his boss' bidding. Amelia shook her head.

The three took the floo to Amelia's home. Hermione and Susan were surprised to find Harry sprawled out fast asleep. Mirrel brought a tonic. Amelia detected a kidney stone. The tonic would dissolve it. They poured it down Harry's throat.

Harry was not having a peaceful sleep. In his dream he stood before Fate, Destiny and Death.

"You MADE me commit genocide," Harry screamed.

"You are a weapon of war," Fate said, coldly.

The Goblins haven't fought a war since the Wizards broke away from the Muggles or normals, if you prefer," Destiny said. "You were angry that the Goblins screwed you over. You wanted to make them pay. There were a lot of Goblins. Rather more than we were expecting. We sort of drained more magic from you than we should."

"We need to find you a kick-starter for magical power or you won't recover," Death said.

"Oh, great," Harry said melodramatically. "You've turned me into a squib. For your information, at 4 Privet Drive there's a wardstone that drains my magic. Reverse that and you'll have the kick-starter or rather I will. You know the goblins will wait until I have to go into Gringotts and then kill me, don't you?"

"We had to leave some goblins. We couldn't allow the Wizards to gain control of Gringotts," Destiny said.

"Flitwick is half-Goblin. I had planned to go into Ravenclaw and have him train me in Duelling. He might accept just so he can send lethal spells my way. Hermione hit Malfoy. Malfoys will sue just as soon as everyone knows I have Hermione under my Protection. Likewise, Ron won't sue Remus, until he knows Remus is my Steward. I will accept the Life Debt Ron owed Sirius."

"That's done," said Fate. "One dead wardstone drained for you. You'll sleep for 72 hours and be at full power. Use little power in your spells. You may feel light-headed. If you put as much force in your spells as you have been doing, you'll leave a trail of destruction."

"72 hours. That'll be Friday. I've things to do." Harry was a little annoyed.

"Just relax. There's nothing you need to do that can't wait," Destiny said, reassuringly. Harry slept.

Fate, Destiny and Death looked at each other.

"That was a close run thing," Death said.

"You've come out with that ever since the Duke of Wellington said it. You gave him preferential treatment when he died," Fate said.

"You're trying to divert the conversation," Death responded. "I didn't give him preferential treatment. Harry able to do what we wanted. We've preserved his magic, we did get a little bit lucky and he will be stronger."
