Chapter 12: Warden of the Zone
Disclaimer: See Chapter 1
Hello everyone, hope you are well, and enjoying the content of this story, and are exited for what is to come, well, I have been talking about this one a bit in other chapters and here he is, The Enforcer of the Laws of the Zone, Walker
On with the Show.
With Technus finished, and looking to get some answers on the crooked Enforcer of the laws of the Ghost Zone, Maddie opened the file labeled Walker, Warden of the Ghost Zone.
They saw a picture of the ghost in question, "He definitely looks he's crooked, almost like mafia, especially with that fedora he wears," Jack said.
Name: Walker
Species: Ghost
Title: Warden of the Ghost Zone
Occupation: Warden of the Ghost Prison. As he put it himself: Judge, Executioner, Jury, Executioner, Jailor, and if necessary, Executioner.
"Why did Danny say Executioner three times?" Jack asked.
He really likes that part of the job.
"Oh, how does one even execute a ghost, especially if some of them are the souls of dead humans that have yet to pass to the other side for one reason or another?" Jack asked.
"I don't know, he must have found a way, maybe something along the lines of inflicting enough damage to them at once to overwhelm a ghosts ability to recover," Maddie theorized.
Friend or Foe: Foe
Powers: Standard Ghost Fair, Ecto-blasts, Size alteration, Super strength
I have already somewhat gone over two of the big encounters with Walker, as both of them involve Wulf. However, my first encounter with him was when I was going to ask Dad a question and then he was showing me the Specter Speeder, and Mom got angry with Dad for forgetting their wedding anniversary,
"Right, when I went to see my sister, the kids thought we were going to get a divorce, as they didn't have the full picture. as both our anniversary and her divorce anniversary are so close together," Maddie recalled.
"Yeah, they did," Jack made another mental note to figure out a way to help him remember important dates.
Mom slammed her fist on the engines of the Speeder, and it activated the controls, which sent me and the speeder into the Ghost Zone, perhaps it's a safety mechanism if the Speeder is attacked. "How did we not notice that, the engines are super loud normally?" Jack asked.
"I believe we were deep into having an argument about the fact that you forgot our anniversary for the 18th year in a row," Maddie said.
"I didn't totally forget, I had the present ready to give you, aside from the wrapping, I just got so caught up in my work, especially on the speeder, that I just didn't realize what day it was, had anyone mentioned something, like where we planned to go out for dinner that night, I would have remembered what day it was, mentally I was off by a week. I just…" Jack said, in a tone that made it clear that he was still kicking himself over that ordeal.
"I know, hon, you are still the genius I married, just clumsy and we need to work on that, as a family," Maddie said, rubbing her husband's back, in support of him.
First time in the Zone proper, by the way, kind of horrifying the first couple of times going in there. I almost immediately ran into Walker, not knowing his name at the time. Despite breaking one of either his rules, or one of the Zone's, more likely one of his laws, by trespassing in unauthorized vehicle as he put it, he let me go asking to never see me around there again or else we were going to have a problem as he said. I quickly got out of there, and returned home.
"At least he let you go with a warning," Maddie said.
However, little later, I accidently knocked the gift Dad had gotten for Mom, and left home, into the Ghost Zone and had to go get it. I found it and the Box Ghost, because of course I run into him, in a storage realm, or was it the Box Ghost's realm, I don't know, and then we both were arrested by Walker. My crimes was apparently trespassing, loitering, causing a disturbance, and possessing contraband from the human world, he arrested me and sentenced me to 1000 years in his prison, and that was him being lenient for a first offence. Eyebrows raised in question, I ran into some of my rouges that I had fought already in there as well, I started a prison riot and managed to get to the warden's office to get the present, but Walker kicked my butt easily. He had me at his mercy and then suddenly Sam and Tuck appeared in the Specter Speeder, through a wall.
"What?" Both of the Fentons were confused as to how that was possible.
Turns out, in the Ghost Zone, humans are the ghosts, meaning that humans phase through ghost buildings and ghosts can't physically touch you in the Ghost Zone against your will. "Good to know," Maddie made a note about that fact. So, I turn back to human, Walker tried to lay a hand on me, but just phased through me, I grabbed the present and we left the Zone.
Ever since that day, Walker has sought to recapture me. He wanted to turn Amity Park, during the first Wulf encounter, against me to a point that I would beg for the safety of his prison, yeah right, though he was close to doing it. It was Walker that had overshadowed Dash, and some of his men overshadowed some others, which is why some of those popular kids were willing to become Ghostkateers.
"Now it all makes sense," Jack said, annoyed at the fact that there wasn't actual interest at the time.
Actually, he and his men overshadowed a lot of the town, maybe not as much as Vlad did to become Mayor, but a lot. Fentons just shook their heads. He then later overshadowed the mayor, which makes sense, the enforcer of the rules takes over the one that makes the rules. I got captured by Walker, through the floor of City Hall. It was here that Walker played perhaps his greatest trick, he made it look like I had taken the Mayor hostage, to try to make it seem like I was a villain, "and everyone believed it, and it only reinforced the idea in our heads that Phantom was up to no good, when he was the victim," Maddie said, guilt in her voice.
Bloody worked too, for a time, it wasn't until it at least I want to say the Ghost King crises that the public had started to change their minds again about me. Wulf had exorcised him from the mayor and then Mom had shot a portal from her bazooka, and it was sucking both of them into it, but before they left, both vowed that we would meet again, but Walker taunted me, and he was right this time, "Feared on Earth, and Wanted in the Ghost Zone, You've lost, Ghost Kid, Lost." Walker won that day.
"You can't win them all, Danny, just do the best you can, fight the good fight as they say." Jack said.
"Just the question of what happens when he does fail, what if he meets a ghost that would kill him in combat?" Maddie asked, concerned for her current youngest child, who has a terrible weight upon his shoulders.
"That will not happen, we will make sure of it," Jack vowed.
I would see him multiple times again. He helped defeat the Ghost King's army and was at the Christmas Party, but he didn't help save Christmas Eve, as he had to book the ghost that was ruining it. Apparently, Christmas is a big deal in the Ghost zone, and messing with it, you will be thrown in Walker's Prison. "At least that is a good reason to lock someone up, also another thing that we thought Danny was guilty of." Maddie said.
I recently encountered Walker at the summer camp me and my friends were at, which I talked about in Wulf's file. He was there looking for Wulf, and was, at first, only taking students that had stumbled on his search parties, and then once he realized I was around, did so as to draw both me and Wulf out. Me, Sam, and Wulf went into the Ghost Zone through a portal Wulf had left open to save everyone. Walker nearly strapped a shock collar on Sam before Wulf sprang from the shadows and grabbed Walker. I ended the fight by putting the Warden on Ice, and then got the vat that was holding everyone in suspended animation out of there, and Wulf brief got his tongue stuck licking the Walker ice sculpture. Jack snorted, in laughter.
I haven't seen him since, but no doubt he is planning his next scheme to capture me.
All this because I knocked a gift into the Ghost Zone, I can't believe it.
Note: He hates when I use fact that he can't touch me when I am human against him. Also note, Fenton Thermos Capture rays can be used to close portals to the Zone, at least the ones that Ghosts can create, like Wulf tearing them open.
"Very good to know as well," Maddie made a note of it.
Scrolling down a bit more, they saw a picture of another ghost.
Name: Bullet
Species: Ghost
Title: Walker's Right hand
Occupation: Vice-Warden
Powers: Standard Ghost Powers, Carries a Ghost ray gun that uses a Stinger ability that delivers a painful shock to its victim.
Bullet is Walker's Right Hand and second in command of the Ghost Zone Police Department, or GZPD. I have only seen him a couple of times, the first was during the first Wulf incident where I rescued Wulf from Bullet's ecto-baster that had chain stinger hold on Wulf. He was also among the ghosts that began overshadowing people.
Mom ended up sending him back to the ghost zone with her bazooka that can open portals to the Ghost Zone, by lodging it inside of him.
"Oh yeah, I remember that," Maddie said.
I later saw him among the ghosts fleeing the awakened Ghost King and he was beside Walker when the Rogue's gallery showed to help me defeat the King's army. Haven't seen him since.
"Odd, you would think he would have been alongside his boss during the second Wulf incident, but maybe he was off catching another "rulebreaker,"" Jack said with air quotes around the last word.
"Who knows where he is now. Up next is Ember, the Rockstar, Jazz loved her music. With Walker finished, and their answers about him satisfied for now, Maddie closed his file and scrolled up the list to Ember, The Singer.
Well, that will do it, The Warden of the Ghost Zone is done, and next time is one of nearly everyone's favorite Ghosts, Ember McLain. So, despite the fact that I have a long way to go in terms of files, I am also working ahead on some of the Post-reading the files chapters. If anyone wanted to know, when I was labelling the chapters with numbers today, as I have decided that I am sticking with the order that I have place them in, I realized something interesting, Dan will be chapter number 30 exactly, holy moly, this will be my longest one yet, and will be for some time, I hope you all stick around for the long haul, and look forward to the ideas I am cooking up for this and stuff I plan to use for its sequel, which will not be as long as this one, I promise that.
I just want to draw attention to another of my stories, I think I mentioned it before, but if you like Fairly Oddparents and you like my style, please go give my story titled Adoption some love, it would be much appreciated.
Ok, long winded speech over. See you all next time.
The Emperor is out. Peace.
