By day, Ann the Mew does grunt work for the legendaries of the High Council. By night, she secretly breaks High Council code to enjoy earth sights with the lower legends. After she and her friend are taken hostage, Ann is presented with a choice: Work as a spy for Team Rocket in the Hall of Origin, or watch her life crumble around her. Rex finds himself thrust into a world of Pokémon and forced to play a part in the dangerous show of an unknown puppeteer. Together with Bristle, the egotistical self-proclaimed guildmaster of a small town, and the growing population of her guild, they must find a way to escape the storyline that has been laid out for them before it reaches a disastrous ending.

A medium-sized town sits peacefully, undisturbed for years. That will soon change with a surge of wild Pokémon, but these are different than standard ones that live in the wilderness.
