PENG | CHAPTER 05: KENDO CRACK | BY TWISTED ETERNAL WOLVETTA
Tate Yuuichi genuinely had no idea how this had happened. For whatever reason, Fujino Shizuru had enquired him about kendo. Before he knew it, they were in the training room. Luck accompanied them as well, for they were alone. Or well, was it fortunate? Yuuichi was conflicted, how was he supposed to respond to this? The student council president was positioned before him with a kendo sword clasped between both palms. His hands encased hers, showing her how to lift it steadily. "You, er… you move it like this." He angled the shinai skywards above their heads.
"Then, like this?" Fujino slowly levelled the bamboo blade downwards before them.
"T-that's right!" Yuuichi couldn't help but stammer, feeling unsure about their predicament. Fujino was so close that they shared body heat. Lifting the shinai again, he had them repeat the motion. "You need to get used to the swing until it feels natural. There's other moves I can show you, but we should start slow."
"Hm." The student council president turned her head slightly to view him. "Innuendos are my specialty. What a surprise indeed you would use them."
"I-I didn't m—"
Yuuichi's heartbeat raced as a genuine laugh poured by Fujino. In the background, spare kendo sticks tumbled from inside a trolley.
A/N: I discussed this idea with Hildebrant some months back. We threw around a few concepts and eventually came up with this. I always did love experimenting with unlikely interactions, it keeps the creativity flowing. I will experiment with this pairing again. I would adore seeing a sword duel between them.
