PENG | CHAPTER 08: SLENDER-MARIA | BY TWISTED ETERNAL WOLVETTA

"Why me?!" Plunging down the classroom corridor, Arika skidded along the slippery tiles. What's wrong?! Is she in a nightmare, is this some kind of joke?! Looking over her shoulder, a panicked dread swarmed her very soul; a chill freezing her spine. Yards behind her, Maria Graceburt came charging forth with her arms held high behind her. What's up with her?! "H-haaaghhh?!" Stumbling, she practically almost flew down the stairs. Just in time, she caught her footing and hopped half the steps.

"Those without tact serve detention within the tower!"

Miss Maria's voice bellowed from upstairs, causing Arika to freeze. H-Had she lost her? A-ah, why is she stopping?! Rushing towards the exit, her anxiety spiked when realising the doors were locked. Slamming against them, she quickly noticed a note plasted there. [BEHIND YOU] H-huh? Unfortunately, she did just this. Somehow, the Epitome of Grace—no, of Nightmares was directly behind her whose face didn't exist.

Arika's back jolted against the doors in shock. T-this hadn't been the case before! Worse, dark tendrils started forming behind Maria. An eerie atmosphere fastened down upon the student. She didn't understand her situation, nor why she was alone. Nobody but herself and Maria were inside these corridors. "I-I…! No!" She yelled, crossing her forearms before her face.

"Your tactlessness will be the death of you!"

Unto the student, Maria wrapped her tendrils around her.

Before Arika could respond, darkness greeted her. W-what? "H-hello?" She called out, a dim light from above slowly illuminating the room. A stack of candles were hung from a golden basin. Staring at it, Arika realised something.

This isn't Garderobe.
