Epilogue

Uatu the Watcher Speaks….

And so, a new life rose from the ashes. For Peter and Gwendolyn Parker, a more productive path awaited them. For the moment, he would continue as a freelance photographer with the Daily Bugle. Eventually though, he earned a scholarship and devoted himself to his chemistry. The photography and journalism drew less and less of his attention. (A vestige of Jameson's actions in the other realities? We'll never know.) She adjusted to her life as Spider-Man's wife and college student. May Parker continued to be the center of their world.

Spider-Man's presence reaffirmed justice for New York and beyond. He would never have a scare like the Green Goblin's again. With Gwendolyn's help, he perfected his weapons and innovated others. His friendships with Dr. Strange, Daredevil and the Fantastic Four deepened into mutual trust. He was no longer the loner but part of a growing world of super beings.

Norman Osborn's healing opened other doors. Thanks to Dr. Strange, he healed entirely. He and his son, Harry, brought OsCorp back from bankruptcy. Harry and a nurse struck up a friendship and more. Upon Peter and Gwendolyn's graduation from Empire State University, they received jobs at the facility. Their efforts brought about a great deal of innovation.

Thus did Strange's gamble pay off. Thus did Spider-Man's decision to catch his love rather than use his webbing pay off. Realities turn on such split-second decisions.

And I watch all such things and remember….

For I am the Watcher….
