Parties weren't as easy as they looked, even with details missing here and there, Damon could see that the people coming in were impressed. Its just a matter of confidence. He was wearing a silver Cavalli mask with his tux, hair slick back, just looking over his volunteers. He recognised most of them and he knew Elena wasn't here yet.

Some teachers were chaperoning too, when Damon spotted Alaric, he walked up to him, "Mr. Saltzman."

He seemed amused, sipping from his drink, "Damon, very elegant party. I am surprised you pulled it off."

He shrugged, "Yeah teamwork and all that jazz."

"So I got your email. Look, as much as l like your idea, it's not something the school does." Alaric said keeping his glass down on the white clothed table.

Damon huffed, "But why? It's brilliant. Elijah and many other guys have been working on amazing independent projects, if they could have some people come in and tell them that, maybe even promise an investment we can make someone's future." He sounded really serious, turning to him and firm on getting Alaric to agree.

"Even if it doesn't become a sure thing, it can be like a fair you know- real investors can critique their plans and give them good advice. I could have just asked my dad's friends but I want to this by my own." Damon knew Alaric wanted him to at least try and break from his trust fund boy reputation and he knew seeming overly passionate would give Alaric a sense of accomplishment, like he changed Damon.

He saw Alaric deliberate over it for a few moments before he sighed, "Well if any project picks up that kid won't have 300k worth of student loans debt."

"Exactly."

"Fine, I'll talk to the trustee board and see if they are interested in this event." He agreed, Damon smiled, sure of himself now, "You won't regret this, and don't call my father though."

"Okay." Alaric said patting his shoulder. Damon sighed of relief as he walked away, Elijah's project was bound to get picked up, it was unique and brilliant. Damon had an eye for things like this and it was something he was sure of.

He wanted to find Elijah to give him the news but realised he was not here yet. He wrote a quick text to him. Just when he put his phone back, he heard his date, Rebekah call him. He turned around to find her dressed in a red dress, that had a plunging neckline. Her golden tresses framed her face in bouncy curls. Her blue eyes shined behind her golden Dama mask.

"Looking for me?" she asked with a hand on her hip.

He grinned wrapping an arm around her side, hand resting on her plump behind. "I certainly was looking for a Michaelson." His lips brushed against her cheek, "Sweetie, this is suppose to be a black and white party."

She tilted her head towards him whispering, "You can't just yet tell me what to wear and not, you're not my boyfriend."

He chuckled, "Don't count on that."

"Huh, that's exactly what I tell people when they tell me to be dressed according to a bland code." She said turning slightly to stand in front of him, "So what changed your mind? I thought you were after a target."

He held her hand, taking her to the dance floor, bringing her close to his body, "Target was getting boring."

"Or interesting, maybe real- scared you off." She bit her lip.

Damon bit the inside of his cheek, twirling her and when she came back to face him, he said sternly, "Have to take one step back to jump two steps forward. Besides, I don't chase."

"Uh, Salvatore!" He heard Elijah call after him, he turned his head to see him arm in arm with a girl who dressed in a white lace dress with a very sheer skirt. Long glossy brown waves rested atop her chest. Wearing a silver Grifone mask. When they got closer he got a good look at the dress, it was backless. Sun-kissed skin was on display asking to be touched.

No, this couldn't be Elena, she was far too modest for something like this. But then those eyes, almond eyes with dark curled lashes couldn't be anyone's else.

He was sure his jaw was hitting his chest at this point, and his gaze was set on the vixen in that angel dress.

Elijah's voice broke through his fever-dream like thoughts, "I got your text, what is so urgent?" he sounded excited, giddy- weirdly in a happy mood. Of course Elena Gilbert was his date.

Damon cleared his throat, finally looking at Elijah, he didn't miss the way Elena grinned as if telling him to eat his heart out.

"I wanted to talk about a potential event, the school may arrange."

His eyes wouldn't look away for more than two seconds before they would land on Elena again. Who was twirling a wavy strand around her finger.

"You know what? Maybe when we are alone."

Elena laughed, then looked at Elijah as if it were ridiculous, her hand grasped Elijah's arm, "We are all counsel members here, is he forgetting I am the vice president now that he arranged one stupid party."

And she's back.

Elijah's shoulders sagged, "No more events, no more dances- I can't get a date like this every two weeks." Elijah said gesturing towards Elena who smiled brightly.

"Its not a dance, it's about your project. We can talk about it later."

Elena's head snapped towards Elijah, "What project? You didn't tell me about it." She genuinely looked offended that Damon knew and she didn't.

Elijah's cheeks heated up and turned a burning red, Rebekah interrupted, "Maybe because you're not his wife yet." Her tone was catty.

Elena's disapproving stare landed on Rebekah, she bitterly responded, "Aw Rebekah, your need for attention is already transparent in that red dress at a black and white party, stop over compensating."

Rebekah chuckled humourlessly, "At least I didn't half ass it like you did by wearing an actual transparent dress from 'House of Expensive Sluts'."

Elijah quickly interrupted, "Girls, this conversation is taking a rough turn. Come on Elena, let's get drinks. Damon we'll talk later."

He waved a hand at Damon before taking Elena away, whose glare was still set on Rebekah and him.

Rebekah muttered angrily, "Preppy cow."

Damon held her arm, "Don't play with fire if you're not ready to get burned."

She rolled her eyes, circling her arms around his neck on the dance floor, "Huh, she can't do shit to me." The blonde said confidently.

Then turned her head back hissing, she snarled, "Look at her just giving us those nasty looks. My poor brother is telling a story she's hardly listening to."

Damon grinned slightly, moving Rebekah around so he could see, and she was right, Elena was indeed focused on them across the room, it had nothing to do with her little brawl with Rebekah. To test his theory, he held the bombshell blonde close against him, getting her attention. Rebekah leaned in, peppering soft kisses against the skin of his neck. From the corner of his eyes, he could see Elena's scorned eyes fixated on them. Her fists clenching the front of her dress in fury.

When he saw her disappear, that's when he moved away from Rebekah, "You look like you could use a drink."

She put her hand on her chest, "Such a gentleman."

He looked in the crowds for Elena but she was nowhere in sight, neither was Elijah. She couldn't be with him, alone- no way.

Standing in the spot near the drinks table where she was a few moments ago, he scanned the groups and couples.

"Who are you looking for?" Stefan appeared beside him, reaching for a glass, "Elena Gilbert?" he asked with a brow raised, "She's here with Elijah by the way."

Damon snorted, "Yeah, I know dumbass, I set them up."

Stefan now had an amused look on his face, "Wow, not threatened by the suave president guy, are we?"

Damon's eyes narrowed, "I am not threatened in the slightest." And that was the truth, Elijah didn't threaten him, Elena did. She was so hell bent on getting even all the time she would get married to Elijah if it meant getting back at him.

"Oh well, no need to be I guess, poor guy is right there." Stefan pointed in the direction of the back way, where he was talking to his brother, Klaus. However, he seemed in a hurry as if trying to get out through the hallway.

Damon's mouth twisted in a smirk, he pat his brother's back, so Elena was waiting in a classroom for her 'date'.

He blended in the crowd, taking the front exit point out in the hallway, looking from the glass fitted in closed doors.

His search stopped when he saw the girl he was looking for through the small glass window in the chemistry lab.

Turning the knob and entered the room. Quiet, predatory steps towards his prey, that stood facing the large window, tense posture as if she was alarmed.

Without making a sound in the nearly dark room, he reached for her clenched hands at her side, slowly they uncurled, lacing with his fingers. He heard her take a deep breath when he nuzzled her temple, taking in the coconut scent from her conditioner. She squirmed slightly but didn't move away from him, when his lips found the curve of her neck, tracing a consistent line with his kisses. She whispered, "Elijah?"

He nodded against her neck, tightening his grip on her hands, wrapping them around her waist, so her back was pressed against his chest, his open mouthed kisses moving down to her back. Like he had been imagining earlier to touch the skin with his fingers and lips.

Her breaths got short, sounding loud- like she would melt right there.

One of his hands reached down, disappearing under her dress, she squeezed her eyes shut when his fingers rubbed against her core over her wet panties moving in circles while his mouth continued its assault on the skin of her shoulder, "God- this is-", when his movements slowed down, she tensed up about the change and whimpered.

Protesting his abrupt stop she tried to move away, but he held her there, "Damon!" she whispered loudly moving away.

"Huh, you knew, didn't you?"

Turning around she hissed, "Guess I figured it out."

"Oh stop it." He sounded down right angry, taking a step forward he held her elbow, pulling her against him, "You knew all along, but you pretend not to, I am not going to give you anything unless you fucking ask for it."

She was surprised at his demand.

He nodded, "That's right, you can't act like you don't like it and I force it on you. You can't get away with it anymore. So either admit you want me, or get your itch scratched by the guys you pretend to like."

Elena swallowed thick, wanting to plant a slap on his face for even suggesting that. How dare he accuse her of enjoying any of it?

"You're the one who followed me, I was waiting here for Elijah." She took a step ahead feeling bold.

He too stepped forward, forcing her to move back, till she was pressed against the glass window, he gritted out, "You weren't waiting for him, Elena. You didn't wear this dress for him." He said lifting one strap with his finger, his other hand moved to lift the mask from her face, "I didn't follow you here. You led me here. So either admit it or beat it." The sound of her mask hitting the floor echoed in the room. Same as the sound of her shattering pride, any form of control.

When she remained frozen under his glare, he shook his head, "You know, wearing a dress like this doesn't change you, at least Rebekah isn't a coward." Before he would leave her there, she reached to hold him by his shoulders, "No- okay stop."

She took a deep breath, Damon's crystal blue eyes were urging her to confirm anything. "I, Damon- I." Stammering over it all.

Elena could sense he was getting tense, angry- as If she owed it to him. After the performance he pulled with Rebekah she shouldn't want his hands on herself. Yet she did. Elena wanted release and craved how Damon made her feel. Yes, Elijah was sweet, he was the type of guy she pictured herself going out with but- Damon was entirely different. Unpredictable, dangerous, possibly the worst thing happening to her.

Was this how people got addicted to drugs, she thought.

His lips lingered over hers, just waiting for her to say it, "Would it help if I tell you I want you? More than any girl I could want at this party."

Her eyes darkened in lust at his words, lips slightly parted to just finally say it. Fuck it, she thought.

"Damon, I-"

Her words died in her mouth when the door opened.

"Seriously?" Caroline's voice echoed in the room, Damon cursed as he turned his head back and saw Caroline with his brother by her side, "Elena, Elijah is looking everywhere for you."

Stefan shrugged, "I told you she'd be around here."

Caroline's eyes narrowed on the scene, Damon had Elena pinned against the window, her brunette friend was an inch away from kissing the guy.

"What is going on here?" she asked approaching them with a slight limp in her leg, Stefan held her upper arm, helping her. At her inquisition Elena pushed Damon and distanced herself from him, "I don't know care, he followed me here."

Damon huffed, "Great, here we go again."

Her face turned red and she bent to pick her mask, "I don't know what he's talking about."

Caroline snapped at Damon, "Okay, this is getting a bit crazy, Salvatore. What do you not understand about the sentence 'Leave Elena alone'?"

His tongue pressed against his cheek as he glanced at a guilty looking Elena, who seemed like she was crawling our of her own skin, "Got it, Barbie."

Stefan snickered at the scene. Caroline stood in front of Damon as if shielding her friend who held her arm, "Its fine Care, let's go." The blonde accompanied Elena outside leaving Damon with his brother, who seemed entertained by the whole scene.

"That was interesting."

Damon turned to him, clicking his tongue, "You couldn't hold her for a few minutes?"

Stefan raised his hands in surrender, "Woah, you're the one sneaking around while her boyfriend is out there sniffing for her like a dog, you're responsible."

"He's not her boyfriend." Damon said dismissively, "And what is with you teaming up with that annoying little bitch all the time?"

He saw Stefan's face stiffen a bit, "Okay, you can't talk about Caroline like that." He pursed his lips, "She was just helping her friend."

Damon narrowed his eyes, "Of all the girls in this school, hell in this town, you like her?"

Stefan's face twisted in cringe, "No, I don't like her. We're friends."

Damon chuckled, "You are friends with a girl that you're not sleeping with?"

"She has a boyfriend."

"So if she didn't have a boyfriend, would you sleep with her?" Damon asked with a brow raised, "Come on Stef, no need to be shy now."

He scowled, "I am not shy. And no I wouldn't ruin our friendship." He stated clearly.

Damon laughed slapping his shoulder, "Oh stop lying to me. I know your tell." He winked, "That's how I always win cards."

"Really? What is my 'tell'." He scoffed to which Damon pursed his lips, "That's for me to know and you to dot dot dot." He said with a chuckle walking out of there.

When he went back to the party, he ran into Elijah, he gestured Damon to come after him, and so he did with a huff towards the other end of the room near the food table, "What event are you planning?"

Damon bit his lip, relieved that this wasn't about Elena, "I talked to Mr. Saltzman and he said that we can present to real investors in school, like a big business expo. We're calling school trustees and maybe some founding families. To see if your project is good enough for an investment."

A thousand expressions passed on Elijah's face. Excitement, nervousness, happiness, shock all at once.

"But I have so much work left before it's ready for a presentation. And If we are going to exhibit this I would need to give a proper demonstration."

Damon put his hand on Elijah's shoulder in an effort to calm him down, "Look, you need to focus on this now because I am making it happen one way or another. If you need money, I can give you it."

Elijah shook his head, "No-No I don't need money right now, I just need time. But there's so much at school and the counsel."

Damon raised his hand as if asking him to stop, "Don't worry, I got you into this so if you want, I can help with the work."

"You will?"

"Sure, think of it as an investment."

Elijah had a little smile now, "Yes it is, if this thing works out, I'll count you in."

...

..

His weekends were hardly different than his week days, it was official, Alaric Saltzman had ruined his life, but now that Damon wanted to make his business expo happen, he would have to put up with it. Even if it meant school on Saturday.

He was in the teacher's staff room, preparing for his tech quiz that was just one week away. His threat about failing the quiz really had made Alaric so cautious that he was solving quizzes day and night.

Alaric was at one of the desks, reading a newspaper and drinking his coffee but had set an alarm for Damon. They were using this room because Alaric said the coffeemaker was here.

"Done." Damon said as he put his pen down and picked the paper up, Alaric peeked over his newspaper, "Don't you dare fold it into a plane again."

Damon snickered as he got up and walked to the desk, "Here, that's 10 for today."

Alaric checked his answers quickly and huffed, "That's just good luck."

Damon raised a brow, "Really? Ten times in a row? Come on teach, tell me there isn't a test out there that can fail me."

Alaric grinned as he looked up at him, "You're certainly failing at being humble with the little amount of success you've got."

"That's just loser talk." Damon said making a mouth of his fingers. Alaric got up his chair, dusting his hands, "Okay then Salvatore. Looks like we both can get our weekend. Just let me get you some practice sets from my class."

Damon frowned, "More sets? Urgh. So you mean you're getting your weekend, I am getting homework."

"Exactly." Alaric chuckled getting out of the room, Damon cursed as he paced around the room, one more week and then this tech quiz hell would end.

He passed by Mr. Stanley's desk, the chemistry teacher from his previous grade. But what got his attention was a card stack in his basket near the files.

Damon bit his lip picking it up, it read.

' Teach a friend' – Stanley Wilson's student tutoring club.

Session teachers-

Nicole Anderson

Gabriel Knight

Elena Gilbert

Daniel Fell

Damon's eyes glinted as a wicked plan formed on its own, oh he would make her say it today, one way or another.

Because if this wasn't destiny, he didn't know what was.

...

Elena had spent the whole night uncomfortable, partly because Jeremy was blasting his edgy metal music declaring that he was once again heartbroken and the world just didn't understand him. But a big reason was also the dance. She was ashamed of herself for acting so desperately, for wearing a dress that was barely there, to getting herself involved with Damon.

Not to forget dodging Caroline's million questions.

She had even left her texts.

"It looked weird, if Damon is bothering you like that, we should tell a teacher."

"Why aren't you as worried as I am?"

Elena wrote a whole bunch of excuses but couldn't convince the blonde to drop the subject. So she got up, went downstairs to her empty house, her parents were both gone and she was in a house with a very angsty Jeremy.

Getting herself some snacks she started watching TV. Just letting the brain dead content distract her from thinking about anything so much so that it was 2 in the afternoon and Elena didn't move.

When the door bell rang, she groaned against her couch pillow and shouted for Jeremy to get it, but she doubted he would hear over his music so she stumbled her way to the door.

When she opened the door, a shriek escaped her when she saw Damon, standing there with that mischievous look on his face.

"What are you doing here?" she asked hiding her body with the door. But he peeked any way, "Teach a friend."

"Excuse me?" she spat.

"You are one of Mr. Wilson's session teacher's for chemistry. Aren't you?" He asked feigning confusion.

She looked up as if thinking, Damon chuckled when he saw her counting the million clubs she had signed for.

He didn't even have to try, it was like Elena set herself up by signing for so much stuff years ago.

She finally said, "Yes but I only had one student, Kyle Rogers. And he said I was a homework monster so he left me. And then I never got another student."

Damon faked a pout, "So sad, well your prayers have been answered because I've got your session card." He pulled out a green coloured card with a table that indicated time, "I need to prep for my tech quiz, and chemistry is not really my thing."

Elena held the card and got out of his way as he walked in, "So this session is now? No way, I am not doing this, I'll call Mr. Stanley now."

"Yeah do that, but you know how that will go." He said circling her, she frowned as he continued, "He'll ask you why, and you'll say its because you don't want to teach the first student you got in months, then Mr. Stanley will cut you from the club and that would be great because you'll finally have a 'how I got fired from a volunteer job' story but that's not it, Mr. Stanley will no longer write his recommendations in your applications after that-"

Her eyes were getting wide staring into space as If she could picture it, she interrupted, "Stop! No okay, stop- I'll do it."

Damon smirked. God, Elena was so dorky it swelled his heart.

He eyed her appearance, she was wearing PJ shorts and a cami. Her hair looked like she hadn't yet brushed it.

Noticing his eyes on her, she smacked his arm, "Don't look at me, perv. I am going upstairs to change. Go sit in the living room. God, I can't believe this epidemic has spread to my house."

Damon rolled his eyes as she went upstairs. Then he looked around the place and tossed his bag on the couch. After turning the TV off, Damon picked up the random candy wrappers and threw them in the trash, feeling like he couldn't sit unless the place was spotless.

Elena came back down the stairs to find him puffing up the cushions on the couch, holding her grin back, she coughed to get his attention, "Okay, now what topics do you want me to teach you?"

"Most of organic chemistry." He shrugged. Elena gestured towards the table at the corner of the room that had a few chairs around it, she sat down on a chair and he took a seat close to her, opening his books, she muttered, "Huh tech quiz genius wants my help."

His grin widened, "Elena, you can't be mean to me. Or I'll tell Stanley and your tutor ratings aren't helping as it is."

She hissed. Then opened his book, scanning through the things he had marked, "Markovnikov rule, so before we understand this, do you know about hydrocarbons and their derivatives."

Damon sighed as he sat back, "No but I do know what you were about to say to me last night."

Elena's eyes widened, she sat up straight ignoring his statement, "So let's start there. I'll draw you a table, which is my best technique to remember all of it, be it alkane, alkenes or other derivatives like halides, ketones- get it?"

He nodded, then put his arms on the table leaning forward as she wrote down the table neatly, using different coloured pens, "This is our base. You need to know this before we jump to organic chemistry."

"Just like I need to know you want me before I ever touch you again." He murmured. Her shoulders were stiff in alarm but she shrugged it off.

She ignored how his knee was brushing against her thigh. His gaze was fixed on her making her jittery.

"Okay, so now we have to go through the nomenclature. That's very important."

When his knee brushed against her again, she gritted out, "Damon, stop okay. I am very serious. Please pay attention."

He chuckled, "I am Ms. Gilbert." Using a nervous school-boy tone.

She continued to explain the naming to him, then she jumped to the reactions. It's not like he hadn't solved a thousand papers about it, he acted as blank as a paper. Just watching her explain every little thing in detail like her life depended on it. He had to admit, Elena was adorable when she explained things, especially her little methods of remembering certain mechanisms, acting about it as if its a new discovery. The sparkle in her eyes was endearing.

"So now you draw me the table." She gave him a task, forwarding a notepad and a pen in his direction. Damon chewed on his lip as he began writing something down on the paper.

Elena sat back and watched him, she tried to get a peek but he wouldn't let her. "No-no wait till I am done." He hid the page with his arm.

"I am just checking if you're using the order like I asked you to."

"I am. Relax."

It was five o clock and they had been studying for so long, she was tired.

"Okay done." He huffed. Elena sighed out of relief and reached to take it from his hand, when she looked at the pad, her face went from relieved to a poker one.

"That's a doodle of a naked woman." She said looking up at him, he was grinning shamelessly.

She palmed her face, "Are you serious? Damon this is a great opportunity that you are wasting. Your attitude is disgusting, I spent all afternoon teaching you."

He pursed his lips, "Well you can't just expect me to draw you an organic chemistry tree three hours after learning it."

"No, you're not serious about this, that's the problem." She scolded.

"I am. Why don't you give me equations." He insisted.

"You're going to solve equations?" She mocked, "You can't even get the nomenclature right."

"Give me a test already."

"Fine. But if you score below than 8 out 10 you're writing down the tree twenty times." She said with her chin up, Damon shrugged, "Okay, deal but if I get a full score you'll kiss me."

"What?" she asked as if surprised at his audacity, "Kiss you? This isn't a bet. I am teaching you."

"Look, it's all a part of being a good teacher. I put my blood, sweat, tears into work and you as a teacher need to appreciate it." He explained to her as if she were stupid. "Its just a kiss, don't be such a prude."

Elena clicked her tongue, "You know what? Fine- get a full score and I'll kiss you."

"Deal, but none of that peck stuff okay, an actual kiss." He added.

"Sure. It's not like you'll be able to get all my equations right." She said writing down a test for him.

Damon watched her amused, then looked around the room, various picture frames with family pictures, with her best friends , a bunch of them with Matt.

"Must be nice having so many people around."

Elena looked over her shoulder to where his eyes were pointing, then huffed, "Yeah, it's just family trips and town events, why? Your family doesn't do all that stuff?"

He shook his head, "No I've travelled, just not like this. Its mostly been Stefan and I."

Elena then remembered about his mom.

"Where did you travel?" she wanted to change the subject.

He looked back at her, "Europe, Australia, all over the country- wherever my dad needed to be for the time being."

"Then why move here?"

He pursed his lips, "Mom's house- where we live, it used to be my mother's house. I guess my father finally missed her."

"And do you?" she asked in a low voice to not trespass on his private matters.

He bit the inside of his cheek as if clamming up then let go with a huff, "I don't even remember her, I've seen a few pictures. But my grandparents say she was beautiful inside out- Well she did look like me." He changed his tone at the end to move from the topic.

Elena shook her head with a laugh, "Yeah I am sure she was."

Then she gave him the test, Damon quickly started on it. Very confident about it.

He'd act like he was confused in certain questions, just to keep her thinking she was winning.

"Pizza's here." Jeremy walked into the room and put the box on the table, "You've got company."

"Just my student." Elena said waving her hand to tell Damon to get back to work.

"Yes and her lover." Damon added.

Elena smacked the top of his head, "Behave."

Jeremy rolled his eyes as he walked around the table, "Did Bonnie tell you what's wrong with her? She's not talking to me, is this about some other dude?"

Elena didn't want to hurt Jeremy, if Bonnie wanted to keep the Enzo thing a secret, so would she, "No. Jer, she didn't tell me, look why don't you give her some space. Let her deal with it."

Damon interrupted, "Or maybe just get another chick."

She turned back to place her finger on Damon's lips, "Shh. Get back to work."

He playfully bit her finger to which she hissed, pulling away from him.

Jeremy grumbled, "Fine, if she wants space then space is what she gets." Elena raised her arms in question when her brother stomped heading for the stairs in anger. "Ugh, great-more hell music" she muttered.

Elena shook her head opening the pizza box, "You hungry?"

Damon didn't look up from the paper, humming something.

"Huh?"

When he didn't answer Elena snapped at him, "You can speak."

He glanced up with a grin, "What a time out, one slice please."

Elena cut him a piece and put it on a plate, "As if you take my orders seriously."

"Well, I do when my very sexy teacher asks me to." He said giving her the paper, "I am done."

Elena took the test from him while he munched on his pizza and for entertainment watching Elena's facial expressions change from calm and cool to shocked.

"Wait." She said sitting down and began re-checking. She repeated the process 3-4 times but they were all correct.

"Huh, everything is fine. I guess." She looked up at him suspiciously, "You called hexagonal water, hexa-sexual stuff half an hour ago and now you've even got branch chained compounds right. Either you were lying about not knowing chemistry or I just performed a miracle."

He had a cheeky smile, "You performed a miracle."

Elena put her hand on her hip, "So all of this was just a waste of time. You don't need coaching."

"Yes I did, now I know all of the nerdy ways to memorise it." He said reaching to tuck a strand of her hair behind her ear. She pouted, "You realise I spent all day for nothing."

"Well, not nothing." He leaned forward implying what he meant.

The space between her brows furrowed, she hesitated, "You cheated, Damon- you don't get to ask me to kiss you." Her eyes were already set on his lips. Her hand came to rest on his jaw as If trying to push him away but it made no move.

"And you ran away last night, without telling me what I wanted to hear. Kept me wondering all this time if you'd actually say it." He whispered as if a secret.

Elena swallowed thick, surprising herself when she leaned forward to crash her lips against him. Not like the first time she kissed him, it was rough and desperate.

Her fingers curled in his hair when she felt his hands wrap around her waist, picking her from her chair effortlessly to rest in his lap, Elena moaned when his teeth dug into her lower lip. Maybe it was true, she couldn't get enough of him, it must mean she wanted him. When he parted to kiss her neck, using her hand, she cupped his face harshly she brought him back to her lips, shifting slightly over his body so she could circle her hips against him, wrapping her legs around his waist and the back of the chair.

"You win Damon, You win." She panted pulling back for a second with hazy eyes, climbing further if it were possible, he was looking up at her while she was holding his face in her hands, forehead resting on his, as she tried to catch her breath, "I want you." His fingers were running in her hair, Elena let out a breath, "Too bad if anyone ever found out, I'll kill you."

He chuckled, "Don't threaten me. You know the lengths I can go to for a dare." His hands held both hers, clutching it one behind her back, she squirmed trying to get out of it. "Damon- What are you doing?"

He held her up, getting up form the chair, and sitting her down on the table, she pushed against him as he laid her down against the surface, holding her hands above her head.

She watched as he towered over her, his kisses started at her mouth, soft and sweet but slowly his tongue forced her lips open and she kissed him back, her protests weakening. He placed sloppy kisses down her chin to her throat. His free hand reached to grab at her shirt pulling it down to reveal her black laced clad breasts. He brushed his lips against the olive plump skin. She arched her back to which he eagerly responded by licking a circle around her pointy nipple and closing his lips around it, "Yes, God- yes." Elena cried.

"Hmm, I hear a car." He said looking up at her, her eyes widened, "Let go! It's probably my mom or worse my dad!"

He sighed, letting go of her hands she pushed at him till he moved back, adjusting her shirt quickly, she looked around and began picking up the books that had ended up on the floor with shivering hands.

When the door opened, Elena gulped when she saw her Dad walking in, "Hey sweetie, you've got friends over?" he said taking off his coat.

She shook her head, "No- no its just someone from tutoring club, now he's leaving." She gestured at Damon who shook hands with Grayson, "Damon Salvatore."

"Grayson Gilbert. Ah- I think I've met your father at one of the town meetings my wife dragged me to." He said with narrowed eyes.

"Can't miss him, he has outrageous political opinions." Damon said taking his bag from Elena.

Grayson laughed slightly and then pat his shoulder, "I won't comment on that since I belong in the OR and not on counsels. But yes they are pretty amusing. Well, you can stay for dinner."

Elena shook her head and Damon too refused with a fake laugh, "Oh that's fine Dr. Gilbert, I just had dinner, and it was exactly what I wanted. All week long."

She scowled at him.

"Pizza. Just had some pizza." He added and headed for the door, "But thanks for the offer and thank you, Elena- I am sure that I'll never forget my organic chemistry now."

Elena was fuming in her spot and once he left she finally looked at her Dad who took off his glasses, "That's a good kid. I like him better than Matt."

She cringed, "Dad! You don't even know him. Besides- its nothing like that."

"He's with you in the house on Saturday, studying a bland subject like chemistry. No- no I wouldn't do that to myself in high-school for any other reason. I remember taking this lecture of political science to impress your mother when we were dating-"

Elena interrupted, "Its not the same. Arghh just stop whatever this is. I am going to bed." She was on her way up the stairs when she looked out the glass panel near her front door to check if he was gone. He just got in his car, driving off in his usual crazy speed, then she saw someone, a tall and broad man, dressed in black so he couldn't be recognised. His head had been in the direction of Damon's car and seeing him take off, the man too got in a car and sped after him.

What was all that about?

...

..

"He looked very sketchy." Elena explained the whole thing to Bonnie on Monday in the cafeteria.

"Sketchy? What do you mean by that?"

"It was like the man was following him." Elena said raking her hand through her hair nervously.

"So Damon has a stalker, a man-stalker?" Bonnie asked surprised, "And why were you watching him? Did something happen?" Bonnie asked with a mischievous grin.

Elena blushed wildly, "No!" she looked down at her salad, "He wishes." She snorted, "Not anything. Just a chemistry lesson." She shrugged it off, "Besides, it's not about that- don't you think it's weird that a guy is following Damon."

She huffed, "Well none of the guys like him here, maybe it's Matt. He's always been protective of you."

Elena rolled her eyes, "It wasn't Matt, that guy was- built like a- okay maybe it's Matt." She cursed, "You know what, don't tell anyone about this, I'll talk to Matt."

...

Elena had a full proof plan when she headed towards the football field from her practice. She waited for them at the benches, a book in her hand for reading but she would occasionally peek over it to spot Damon who was per usual on his way to a goal.

Over the few weeks, she had heard about how coach Tanner would prefer him over the others and it pissed them off.

Once the whistle blew for a break. Elena looked up from her book to see Damon take off his helmet. His skin was stained at spots, hair tousled. He high-fived a few guys on his side. Then walked over to the stands, when he saw her, his eyes twinkled with surprise, "Well, well we've got an unusual spectator." He said grabbing a water bottle, gulping it down then splashing some water on his face.

Elena was unblinkingly focused on the few drops trickling down his neck over his Adam's apple, to under his Jersey.

Then she snapped out when she remembered why she was here, "Ah- I am here to talk to someone."

"You're not here to join our football team now are you?" he mocked.

She was about to give him a befitting response when Matt interrupted them, coming over there with one arm raised as if telling her he saw her, "Hey, I got your text. What's this about?"

Damon raised a brow as she looked back at him once before walking towards Matt, she held his wrist, taking him a bit far for privacy.

Damon couldn't believe this girl, not this shit again. Things take one small step forward and it scares her back into her ex-boyfriend's arms. He was not able to tear his eyes away from them.

Meanwhile Elena sat down on a bench with Matt once she made sure they had their privacy, he was the one to start, "I miss you Elena. I know I've screwed up beyond repair but we aren't suppose to stay apart."

Elena looked down when he grabbed her hands, "Please, I'll do anything to get you back."

"Listen Matt, you can't just do anything." Especially things like stalking or maybe physically harming someone, she added in her head.

But she couldn't just say it, what if he wasn't the stalker? What If there was no stalker.

"No, I mean it, I can do anything you want. I promise I'll never even look at another woman. I don't love April, she was just a mistake, I was stupid. I love you, I know that now." He declared.

Elena bit her lip, thinking of ways to ask him, but she knew she'd have to slow play it. Maybe test her theory a bit before accusing Matt. What if she asked about Damon and be ends up finding out about her and Damon?

No way.

"We can be friends because that's what I need right now." She said with a forced smile. Matt sighed of relief, then hugged her tightly "I am fine with that Elena, you have no idea how crazy I was going thinking you'd never talk to me again."

Damon couldn't hear the couple in distance, but from what he was seeing, Elena was back to being sweet on him. Smiling, laughing- not pulling away when he hugged her. It was like a slap in the face. So back to ignoring him and getting screwed over by Matt? Fuck that. Two could play this game.

...

..

Everyone was waiting in the counsel meeting, Elijah was late. Well except Damon, he wasn't here.

"Enzo wants to meet up with me, he says I should meet his new friends. Which is code for meet my new girlfriend." Bonnie rambled.

"No-no." Elena put her finger up, "You're not going there to meet his girlfriend. That's going to ruin you, plus he'd think you've been single and waiting for him."

Bonnie's green eyes looked up as if thinking, "I feel like I have been waiting for him."

"Bonnie! It's just going to give his ego a boost, you can't tell him that." Elena whispered. Bonnie pouted then took out her phone and began texting someone, after she was done she shrugged, "Okay, don't be mad at me. But what if I take someone with me, like a date?"

"Why would I be mad?" she laughed, "That's a great idea."

Bonnie bit into her lip as if ashamed, "Because I just asked Jeremy and he said yes."

Elena gasped, "You asked Jeremy to be your prop date for Enzo?"

"No, he just thinks it's a date."

"Bonnie!" Elena whined, "He's my little brother."

"Elena he won't know, plus you said this is a good idea. I promise I won't do anything bad." She confirmed grabbing her hand and squeezing it.

Before she could convince Bonnie out of it, the door to the room opened and Damon walked in with some files, but the surprising thing was he sat in Elijah's seat, "Urgh look at the president being late and all."

"President?" Elena spat, Damon slightly pushed her chair that was normally adjoined with Elijah's to the side so he was the only one at the head of the table , "Yes. Interim, substitute- President. Elijah is working on a very important project and he has passed on his responsibilities to me."

Elena's jaw dropped, "What? But-"

"Enough chit-chat. Elena these are some things you need to take care of immediately." He gave her a whole list of chores.

From disciplinary work to arranging the file cabinet, "Bonnie, there are some printing issues with our newspaper, I need you to take care of that. Mason- posters for the game this week, start the work guys."

He handed everyone their schedules.

Elena checked Bonnie and Aaron's too, but her list was the longest. She glared at Damon as he handed something to Rebekah.

When she opened her sheet, she blushed.

Elena knew there definitely weren't counsel duties on that sheet.

She got up her chair and walked up to Damon, clearing her throat because he was so busy stroking Rebekah's thigh and whispering something in her ear.

"Yes?" he inquired looking over his shoulder.

"Um I've got the most duties of all of us, even arranging the file cabinet- Elijah's never asked me to do that." She said with a hand on her hip looking down at him in anger.

"Aww someone got their princess panties in a twist." Rebekah tutted, as she dragged herself forward, putting her arm around Damon's shoulder.

He too rolled his eyes at Elena, "You are the vice president, hence you have more responsibilities."

"But Elijah-"

He interrupted her, getting up his seat so he was face to face with her, "I am not Elijah. Okay? You've had your fun dragging him around like a rag doll, not me. So either you listen to me or I get you suspended from the counsel for the week."

"Listen to you?" she gritted her teeth.

"Yes. Now before you leave here today, I need that cabinet to be spotless. I want everything labelled- grouped and organised. And if I see one tiny mistake- I swear to god, Gilbert, you'll be on paper duty for the weekend." He didn't look angry but Elena could see something was wrong. She could read the fire blazing in his blue eyes. He was really mad at her.

"Fine. President asshole." She snarled heading over to the filing room, as she soon as she got inside her eyes filled in angry tears. He shouted at her in front of the counsel. Her counsel.

Then she sucked her tears up realizing she didn't have much more time than a few hours, soon she got distracted in grouping the records, dusting them.

She would peek from the window from time to time and see everyone was busy or working, a few times she did catch Rebekah and Damon together, not a care about their nauseating PDA which was just her rubbing herself all over him in his president seat.

Bonnie had texted her from the newspaper club.

I hate Elijah for leaving his tyrant sidekick behind, how are you doing?

How was she doing? She felt so many things. Indignant, annoyed, angry- but most of all jealous. It took everything in her to admit to him that she wanted him and here he was torturing her with work and his disgusting act with Rebekah. Or was it not an act.

She felt stupid. He didn't deserve anything from her. Not like this.

In fifteen minutes her alarm rang loudly, indicating it was time to head home. Elena was still sitting on the floor near the open cabinets and putting things to folder holders.

Damon heard Elena's usual schedule alarm from outside, everyone was packing up to leave but she was still in there. He looked around and huffed, putting his bag down he walked to the door and opened it. She was sitting on her knees arranging a portion of the cabinet, pretending like she didn't hear him come in.

"Your alarm is going off."

She reached into her pocket and turned off her phone, not even looking at him.

"Huh, silent treatment?" he questioned, then closed the door after himself, walking over to where she was sitting, "Let's see what you've accomplished."

He checked the cabinet, seeing if she had put the files in correct order, then he randomly picked up a file and checked if it was organised. "Well you're not anywhere near done here. But sure- go home. You can do it tomorrow."

She looked up at him, visibly enraged, "Why are you doing this?"

He shrugged, "Because its fun."

She shook her head, throwing the folder in her lap as she got up, "Its not fun! This is some twisted way of punishing me for something I don't even know I did."

He folded his arms across his chest, "Punishing you for what?"

"For- for- I don't know! Okay, I don't know but you don't get to insult me in front of everyone." Unexpectedly tears started welling up in her eyes.

She hissed, "You and your bitchy girlfriend can have the whole school to yourselves, but I've worked hard for this counsel. So you can't toss my position as vice president in the trash."

Looking away, wiping the tears that had hardly escaped with the back of her hand.

"Why are you crying?" he asked taking a step towards her. She put her hand up as if asking him to stay there, "I am not crying. Just leave me alone."

"No, you are crying and I need you to stop." He firmly said walking to her despite her protests, "Why? Will you put me on paper duty if I don't?" she responded angrily, not knowing why she couldn't stop crying, her eyes were just leaking at this point.

"Tell me why you're-"

She snapped, "Fine! You want to know why?" pushing him, she said loudly, "Because you're being a dick to me and I don't know why! One minute I am exactly what you wanted all week long and the next you're looking at me like you'd rather I disappear. And I hate that any of this even matters to me." She walked out of there hot on her heels. Damon followed her to the now empty counsel room, as she looked for her bag.

"Because why should it matter? You're a man-whore. You take three dates to a movie just because you can, three dates! How did I even let myself get here? No self-respecting-" her words died in a gasp when be held her arm, pulling her to him, his lips crashed against her in a brutally forceful way.

He could taste the tears on her lips, she didn't know that they belonged to him- they would help put out the fire that had been wrecking his heart and body from the inside for two days now after he saw her with Matt at practice and the following day in the cafeteria.

Her hands pushed at his chest, though she was not reluctant about kissing him back after two seconds, opening her mouth for him and gasping when he pulled her flesh against his hard body. He just wanted to lie her down on the table and fuck her till the only name she could remember was his.

Elena did come to her senses after a few moments because she did push him with force this time, and in the next second slapped him hard across his face, "No- no don't touch me! Asshole."

She swung her bag over her shoulder and ran out of there, rubbing her lips with the back of her hand, whatever he made her feel, it didn't matter. She walked out of the building, texting Bonnie if she was ready to go so they could share a ride. When she saw him coming out of school, she hid behind the corner of the wall, facing away from the parking.

Damon looked around for a few moments then realising she was gone, he shook his head going towards his car.

Elena was surprised when she saw the same man.

The same man dressed in a black hoodie and dark pants come out from the barbed fence that bordered the trees. He was hiding his face, keeping his distance so it didn't look suspicious but when Damon drove away, he waited a few moments before walking towards the road.

Elena had to find out if it was Matt, she just had to. Getting out from her hiding place she followed him, maybe he was parked a bit away, but he looked in a rush to get to his car because he started running. Once he went across a corner behind the school, she lost him.

It was like he disappeared into thin air.

Elena looked from side to side to see if he was nearby, then went back to the parking lot.

Was Matt really stalking Damon or was this someone dangerous?
