"Can Miss Swan, please report to the Deans office." A voice appeared over the intercom.

Bella's cheeks flushed red in embarrassment, "Mr Banner, if this is about the other day with the phone? I do deeply apologies… I was on my period!" Bella stuttered out making an excuse for her behaviour.

A few of the students giggled.

"Miss Swan, firstly I do not want to know about your monthly cycle. Secondly I do forgive you for your mishap the other day, but I wasn't the one that got the Dean involved so, I suggest you hurry along the Dean doesn't like to be kept waiting! You're excused from my class for the rest of the lesson."

The look of horror came to replace the embarrassment that sat upon her face, Bella quickly gathered her books and stuffed them into her bag. Before hurrying to the Deans office.

"KNOCK, KNOCK!"

"Come in!"

Bella took a quick breath in and let it out, as she twisted the door handle to enter.

"Hi Bella!"

"Mr Varner?" She questioned, "I thought I was here to see the Dean? In the Deans office? Am I in the correct place?"

"Slow down, Bella. I'm acting as Dean this week, as Dean Scott is away for business." Mr Varner explained.

"Oh? Am I in trouble?"

"No! Not at all. I brought you here to meet someone!"

"Okay…"

Mr Varner pressed the intercom button on the desk, "Miss Cope, can you please send in the new assistant coach."

A few seconds past, and a gentleman walked in from Bella's past.

"Bella, this is Mr Frew, he'll be our assistant coach this year!" Mr Varner introduced.

"Isabella, what a pleasant surprise to be seeing you again!"

"It's just Bella now…"

"Of course, as you wish."

"So, I'm guessing you already know one another?" Mr Varner wondered.

"Bella here was one of my students from Forks high, she always had a passion for sports! But when I asked her to run track and field, Bella and Miss Hale would always try and sneak off. I always had to get Jasper and Edward to go after them to carry them back." Mr Frew chuckled as he relived the story.

This just made Bella wince, at another memory that involved him… An awkward tension seem to subtly form in the office.

"Not to be rude, but why am I here exactly?" Bella questioned wanting to move the subject along.

"Yes, well Bella, I am here on the behalf of Coach Clapp." Mr Frew explained, "You know all the basics and we looked over your transcripts, so we know, you know what you're doing! Bella you're in the top of all your classes and we would love for you to come work for us, as the teams physical therapist, to get you more advanced when you step out into the real world."

"Wow! I don't know what to say… Thank you! I won't let you or the girls down!"

"Girls?" Mr Frew questioned "Are you some sort of feminist?"

"Mr Frew, I think this is a tad bit inappropriate to ask our students." Mr Varner chimed in.

"Yes, my apologies Miss Swan… I'll see you tonight at five outside the locker rooms and then we can get started."

"Sounds great!"

Just then the bell rings, "Oh shoot, I need to get going to my other class! I'm so grateful for this opportunity, I don't mean to talk and run, but my next class is on the other side of the campus."

"It's understandable Bella. I'll see you later on."

Once Bella left the office Mr Varner thanked his co-worker. "She's going to love it David, thanks for giving her a chance."

"Bella's going to be great! I just hope the boys don't intimidate her…"

"Bella! Wait up!"

"Angela! I didn't know that you were taking this class this year. I didn't see you in the class."

"Girl, I hid in the back row. I'm only here for Tyler's sake." She waggled her eyebrows and laughed, "But I don't think I'll last long. I only signed up to see how to crack some bones in the right way, can't be letting my Ty getting all sore, now can I? Speaking of Ty, will you be attending the game tonight?"

"Actually, I can't, I start a new job sort of… I'm going to work under one of the physical therapists tonight."

"That's amazing, Bella! I know you've been dreaming of doing this for a while now!"

"It's almost a dream come true; I don't want to jinx it. Hopefully, the girls and I will get along!"

"I'm sure you will! I mean they will look at you like a goddess, because you'll be the one helping them when they are injured… Their own Florence Nightingale!" Ang said with a wink.

"ANGELA!"

"I'm guessing that's Tyler."

"Yeah it is, why don't you come over and say hello?"

Bella looked over to the group of boys by the lockers… And there he was… "Maybe another time." She sighed.

"Oh, okay. I'll see you around?" Ang said before parting ways with Bella.

"Was that Bella?" Edward asked, as Angela approached the group of guys.

"Yeah, she was telling me she's starting with one of the teams tonight! Isn't that amazing!"

"Wow she really is chasing after her dream!" Tyler chimed in.

"She certainly is…" Edward sighed.

All Edward could think about how back in the day, if one of them received news they would always tell one another. It hurt that he had to find out from Angela, but under the circumstances this is the only way he would find out information on Bella. It was their dream together, Edward would play baseball and she would be his own therapist, because he could only trust her, when he was hurt…

"Edward!" Tyler shouted for the umpteenth time, shaking his friend from his daydream.

"Sorry, dude. My head was somewhere else, what were you saying?"

"It's time for class."

"I'll catch up, in a second." Edward mentioned as Tyler and the others walked ahead.

"You've been in your head, quite a lot recently." Jasper stated.

"What's that's supposed to mean?" Edward asked with a stern tone.

"Dude, you need to stop thinking about her! Just forget her man! You have a full campus of ladies to drool over."

"Go fuck yourself, Jasper!" Edward said barging past his roommate.

"No Mom, I promise that I'm being cautious." Bella groaned into the phone.

"What about your surroundings?"

"My surroundings are clear Mom!"

"Are you sure about that?" A rough voice spoke from behind Bella.

"AHH!" Bella screamed, dropping her phone to the floor.

"Sorry, little one. I just thought it was funny." Eric chuckled.

"Eric! You scared the hell out of me!" Bella cried.

"C'mon Bee it was for my own comedic purposes."

"Giving me and my Mom a heart attack, was for your own comedic purposes… Mom!" Bella raced to pick her phone up from the ground.

"ISABELLA MARIE SWAN, DO I NEED TO CALL THE COPS?!"

"No! It was just Eric being a lanky twat! I'll call you later Mama, love you."

"Hey! That's not nice."

"Neither is scaring someone!" Bella scolded the baseball player, while putting her phone in her pocket.

"I'm sorry Bee, I was just walking to the field for our game tonight and when I saw you, I wanted to say hi!"

"Well, hi Eric, I kind of gathered you were attending the game tonight, since you're carrying your gym bag." She chuckled.

"I'm I seriously that predictable?"

"Ever since we were kids!"

Eric laughed, "So, where are you heading?"

"I'm actually heading to the same place! It's my first day training with one of the therapist for the games."

"Oh wow! That's really amazing, Bella!"

"Yeah I suppose so…"

"How's the nerves? I can see it in your face, that something is bothering you."

"I just hope the girls like me…"

"The girls?" He questioned.

"Yeah the softball players?"

"Right… Would you like to walk with me there?"

"Yeah, it could possibly calm my nerves and give my Mom a peace of mind, she thinks I'm going to get attacked in this neighbourhood."

"Don't worry Bee! I'll protect you." He said flexing his muscles.

"My knight in shining armour."

"At your service, my lady." He said with a bow, making Bella giggle. And off they went to the campus field.

"Bella, hey!" Mr Frew waved at her, "I didn't think you would be this early?"

"Well, my dad always taught me it's better to be thirty minutes early than on time!"

"Your father was a smart man! I'm sorry to hear what happened to him. He was always great with you and Edward."

"Thanks… I appreciate the kind words…"

"Are you ready to meet the therapist?"

"Absolutely!"

Meanwhile Coach Clapp was just about to give one of his speeches, to the boys in the locker room. "Okay boys, we're playing our rivals today! Even though it's our first game against them this season, I need everyone to be on their A-game. No funny business, you hear?"

"YES COACH!"

"Now I want you all out on that field for battering practice, bar the captain."

The team left the locker room, just leaving the Coach and captain. "Yeah, Coach?"

"I'm going to say this once more, lad. Your head hasn't been in the game lately! I don't know what's distracting you, but you need to get your head out of your arse!"

"Will do, Coach!"

"Good, Cullen. Because I don't want to scare this new PT trainee of ours with another head injury of yours!"

"I'll do my best to not frighten him off."

"It's a girl, but whatever, I'll take your word, Cullen."

"A girl you say. I'll try and keep my clothes on, so she's not tempted to fall head over heels for me!" Edward joked with a smirk on his face.

"And no womanizing either! Just get out of here!" Coach ordered.

"And this is the locker room, this is where we will keep all the medical equipment, as this is the first place we will bring an injured player to assess them. Usually, we would sit out in the dugout just in case a player goes down on the field so we can easily get to them, before moving them back here for full assessment." James explained to Bella.

"Hopefully, we won't get too in the way." Bella said nervously.

"We don't usually, there's nothing to fret about. They are always standing at the railings to engrossed in the game, so we would just normally sit back and relax or when they are warming up before the game we can stretch them out if we think the players need it."

"Sounds easy enough."

"It really is, we just have to be on our toes, if something bad happens out there and get to the player fast!" You can never tell when the game is going to change and do a 180 on us, but I'm sure you know that by now?"

"Yeah, I've basically known it all my life…" Bella agreed with a frown on her face.

"Me and my big mouth. I'm sorry, I bet you are so tired of people telling you that."

"It's okay, he was a big deal around here."

"I met him briefly and he was such an inspiration."

"I just hope I'm making him proud of me up there?"

"You are! I don't doubt you for one minute!" James encouraged his trainee. "Are you ready to meet the team?"

"I was born ready!"

"That's the spirit!"

Bella walked out to the dugout with James. Bella took in her surroundings of the dugout; a few benches and the walls were plastered in the Spartans logo painted in the blue and yellow colours.

"COME AND HYDRATE!"

"And that loud voice belongs to Coach Clapp. I'll introduce you to him first, don't worry his bark is much worse than his bite." James teased.

They walked further along the dugout to find a man with a baseball hat on his head, and a megaphone in his hand.

"Hey Coach!"

"James, hey! Is this our new trainee?"

"Yes, this is Bella."

"Hi sir, it's a pleasure to meet you."

"You look familiar." The Coach pondered.

"Maybe because her Dad was Charlie Swan." James helped.

"Oh wow, you're the spitting image of him."

"I hear that a lot."

"Specially in the eyes, so tell me Miss Swan are you wanting to follow in your fathers footsteps, by working on the field?"

"You could say so. I can't play like him but being able to help athletes when they need assistance seems like a pretty amazing job!"

"Absolutely, our players couldn't do what they need to do without our PT's, speaking of which here come some of the boys now."

Did that coach just say boys? Bella thought to herself, there has to be some sort of a mistake. James looked over at his trainee, to see her face frozen in fear.

"Don't worry Bella. They'll probably not say anything to us, they might wave, but try not to be intimidated."

"Uh, James?" Bella said pulling him to the side, away from the Coach.

"Yes?"

"I thought I was going to be working with the softball players?"

"Oh, no! Did someone tell you that?"

"Not really, I just assumed since I'm a girl that I would be working for the girls softball team." She admitted.

Bella was entering full on panic mode. Her whole body felt like it was on fire and she was struggling to think straight. Was she really this naïve that she didn't realise she would be working with the baseball players.

"I suppose if they need you over there too from time to time, I wouldn't mind letting you go over." James said, "But you were assigned to be my trainee, and this is where I work, so you'll be mostly working with the guys baseball team. Is there going to be a problem, because I don't want you to be in an uncomfortable position?"

"No, not at all! I'm more confident I'll do a good job, they're all players at the end of the day, it doesn't matter about the gender."

"That's the spirit! Now before we introduce you to the team, we'll go over any incidents we may face today! So, we are prepared."

"Dude!" Jasper says.

"What?" Edward asks not knowing what his mate is playing at.

"Oh, this is just fantastic!" Tyler chirped in.

"Now he's definitely going to be distracted." Jasper mentioned with an evil laugh.

"Can one of you idiots, just tell me what you are on about?"

"I kind of want you to figure this out, to see how long it will take you." Jasper admitted.

"I have no time for your games tonight! Just get back to practicing!" Cullen ordered.

"YES CAPTAIN!" Tyler and Jasper mocked with a salute.

Edward took a look across the playing field to see if there was anything abnormal, but everything looked in place. "Eric! Let's go this isn't an old grannies meeting!"

"I'm coming!" Yorkie told his captain.

After her quick briefing with James. Bella began her mission, and her mission was to avoid Edward at all costs, but also watch him like a hawk. She nearly had a close call before when she caught him before scanning the field so, she did the only thing thinkable and hid behind the tall player that was in the dugout.

"Miss, this is a closed practice, you can't be here. There's about a few minutes left before they allow the public in." The number 92 player explained.

"It's my first day on the job, I'm Bella the new trainee PT, I'm working alongside with James."

"Yes, she is!" James agreed, "Bella this is Paul also known as our tallest player!"

"Have you ever thought about taking up basketball?" She wondered aloud. "Sorry! That kind of just slipped out."

Paul chuckled at the new PT. "I already do, in the off season." He assures, "Anyways I better get out there before Coach Clapp has anything to say about it. Have fun newbie!"

"Hey Bella, the games about to start!"

"Okay…"

"How are you feeling?"

"I think I'm a bit overwhelmed. Is it alright if I head to the bathroom?"

"Of course, they are just in the locker room. I'm going to head out the field and start stretching some of the players."

"Okay, I won't be long!"

"Think Bella think! Maybe I could run to the store really quick and buy a box dye… No that's too time consuming. What about a hoodie? No… I know a hat! It's the perfect disguise, I'll just pull it down to avoid eye contact… And I'm talking too myself like a loon."

Bella opened up the lockers, to see if one of the guys had left a cap, luckily enough she found one! She made a mental note to return it at the end of the game.

"I'll be right back Coach! I just forgot my knee pads!" A voice said that Bella was far too familiar with.

"Oh crap." She muttered to herself. Why did this have to happen, her only thought was to hide and fast!

Bella ran, and crouched behind the benches, as she didn't think she would make it in time to the shower cubicles.

Suddenly her phone rang out!

"Is anyone there?" Edward asked as he turned from his locker.

The phone continued to ring.

"Hello?" Edward questioned, now more curious.

Maybe if Bella stayed really quiet, he would hopefully forget that someone was there, she hoped. But this was ridiculous she had to face him at one point.

Come on Bella, be brave!

She stood from her crouching position revealing herself to him.

"Bella!" He took a step towards her, she took one back, he frowned. "What are you doing in the male locker room?"

"I…"

"It doesn't matter. We need to talk, can we?" Edward asked hopefully.

"I…"

"Please say yes!" He begged with his eyes.

"HEY BELLA, ARE YOU IN THERE, THE GAMES ABOUT TO START!" James called for her.

"I'll be right out!" She called back.

"Bella, don't go."

"I have to, and so do you."

"They can wait!" He said sternly.

"We can't do this. Edward please! I can't be late on my first day on the job."

Edward stalked towards Bella, like she was his prey. Until her back hit the shower cubicle wall.

"Edward!" She gasped.

"So, you'll be the one stretching me out before a game. How did I end up being so lucky?" He smirked.

"I don't know what you think you're doing!" Bella said jabbing a finger into his chest, "But I ain't going to forgive you just because you turned your charm on!"

"So, I charm you?" He asked smugly.

"That's not the point!" She seethed.

"Maybe I can charm you to forgive me? After all I've decided to forgive you for what you did."

"For what I did!? What on earth are you talking about? Actually, save it I don't have time for this…" Bella says, before quickly leaving him behind in the locker room.

"FOR FUCK SAKE!"

Bella heard Edward curse as she left with confusion plastered across her face.

A/N: So, was that the Bella and Edward interaction, we were hoping for?

I've made Edward really clueless in this chapter, as well as Bella now that I think about it.

Anyways, I hope you've enjoyed this chapter. Once again I'm overwhelmed by the response I received from chapter 2. I enjoyed reading the reviews a couple of you left, it makes my day.

I'll see you soon for chapter 4!
