Thank you for all the reviews and responses to the story. I love reading the comments as I work on future chapters. It's definitely encouraging and makes me want to post the chapters quicker.
The reviewer response is much better on than it is on AO3, however the formatting issues are better on AO3. If you like the story but want to see the centering issues fixed, then I would suggest AO3….. either way, thank you for reading.
Do y'all enjoy my weekly updating (Wednesday). Or would you prefer that I post each time a chapter is completed? Even if it means that I update 3 times one week and none the next.

I fell asleep with a smile on my face after I spent the evening talking to Edward. The butterflies had returned to my stomach when we engaged in conversation even if we kept the topics light. I was also pleased that our off days aligned this week. Something I'm sure would be a rare occurrence. I was looking forward to spending the day with Edward.
….
I didn't sleep well the entire night. I became hyper aware that my bed wasn't as comfortable as Edward's. I also spent most of the night lying awake while replaying the conversation that Edward and I had.
Why would he think that I'm embarrassed of him? Have I been ignoring his feelings? Was he hinting at something and I missed it? I never even thanked him for taking care of me…..maybe he's upset over that. I hated to think that I was being insensitive to his feelings. Especially after everything he's done for me.
The light burned my eyes, even with my lids still closed. I must have forgotten to close the curtains before going to bed. I groaned before rolling out of bed, desperately tired and in need of food.
I travelled down stairs to rummage through the pantry and gather the needed ingredients to make Edward and I some blueberry muffins. Once they were in the oven, I nervously twiddled my thumbs, unsure if I should also bake something else. The timer dinged as Edward entered the room. Perfect timing.
"I made breakfast." I called over my shoulder to Edward. I turned the oven off before pulling the muffins out. Being a little prideful, I turned to show him. My train of thought stopped in its tracks as soon as I saw him. He was clad in only a pair of low hanging pajama pants. His bare chest showed off how well defined his abs were.
"Good morning Bella." His words broke me out of my stare. A blush rose to cover my cheeks and his sly smirk told me that he caught me staring.
"Good morning." I mumbled, still embarrassed. "Would you like a muffin?" I offered as I began taking the muffins out off the tray.
"Thank you." He smiled before grabbing one. "Let's have a seat." He gestured to the table. I grabbed the butter and a knife before following him. I decided to take the seat closest to him this time.
"I have a question for you." I looked at him nervously. "I'd like to take a chance to explain my side and viewpoint but I also want to hear yours. I think that we should make decisions together." I bit my lower lip as I waited for his response.
"Ok? What's wrong?" His eyebrows pinched together.
"Nothing's wrong, I've just thought about it all night. Why did you think I was embarrassed of you or our relationship? I want you to be completely honest with me. I don't want to ignore your feelings on the topic."
"I didn't think you were embarrassed of me or us." He gestured between us. "My brain was running a thousand miles a minute and I started worrying."
"Do you promise that you're telling me the truth?"
"Yes Bella." Edward reached out and took my hand in his. "You have done nothing to make me think that you're embarrassed of me. I was overthinking everything. I understand you want to wait." His thumb rubbed soothing circles on the back of my hand. "You mentioned wanting to explain your viewpoint before I explain mine."
"I don't feel the need to hide our relationship and I don't feel the need to deny that you're my husband. I asked for us to wait to tell people because I was scared. I was established here. I have my friends, my coworkers, and I'm in good standing at work. My whole world was turned upside down and I was worried that it would ruin everything."
"Oh." He was quiet.
"But I was wrong. It was wrong of me to be so self absorbed. I didn't consider your feelings or wants. It was wrong of me to make a decision about our relationship without including you. Yes, it's true that I want to build our relationship without interference." I turned my hand in his and interlaced our fingers. "But it won't hurt anything if we tell people. I want to know how you feel about this situation. If there is someone you want to tell, then you should be allowed to do so. I'm sorry that I didn't listen to you."
"Oh Bella." He smiled before looking at our hands. "I never thought about that before. I'm glad that I got the chance to hear your point of view. I was dropped into your life, in the middle of your friends and family. It makes complete sense that you're weary of how our marriage could affect your work relationships. Especially after your friends acted poorly."
"But it was wrong of me to make you keep it a secret."
"It's fine." He chuckled. "I don't have anyone that I was going to tell. Everyone who matters to me already knows. I didn't want to slip up and call you my wife while at work in case that it would bother you. Also, you have given me no indication of being embarrassed nor were you acting self absorbed. It's ok to be worried about how your life is changing."
"We should have made the decision together." I gave him a pointed look, he was incredibly understanding. Why does he have to be so nice, so perfect.
"It's not too late. Let's decide now. My viewpoint is that we don't have to tell anyone unless directly asked. I won't lie to someone if they ask me about you but I also won't randomly announce it to people. I also think that it'll be nice to get to know each other without outside interference. Just you and me." His words comforted me.
"I want to make sure that I understand you. You are willing to wait before announcing, only telling the people who ask?" I wanted to be clear about everything.
"Yes."
"Ok and from now on, we will make decisions together. From the beginning."
"Agreed." He winked at me. He stood up and walked to the fridge to grab a drink. "Want something?" He asked.
"No thank you." I felt a little sadness when his hand left mine. I missed the warmth of his simple touch.
I was intrigued just by watching him. His easy movements, the way his arm flexed as he opened the fridge. My eyes internalized every motion he made. He quickly grabbed his milk before returning to the table.
"Feel free to say no." He seemed a bit nervous as he sat back down. "I was thinking that next weekend we can invite some people over."
"Ok, how many people are we talking about?" I questioned him. I would be happy to entertain anyone who was a friend of his. Anything to make him feel more comfortable around me.
"Not many. It would just be me, you, Alice, Jasper, Emmett, and Rosalie. I thought that we could invite them over and have every kid's dream sleepover."
I chuckled a little at his wording but I liked the idea. It would be nice to spend time with our friends…. as a couple. "Dream sleepover?"
"Yeah." He rubbed the back of his neck nervously. "We could have them over Friday after work, have a barbecue and go swimming or something. They can stay the night and then on Saturday we can spend the day lounging, watching movies, or have a game day. They can spend the night again before leaving on Sunday. It would be a friends weekend. I understand if you think it's stupid." His words started jumbling together.
"I don't think it's stupid." I patted his leg. "I think it's a great idea and I'm excited to spend time with our friends. I'll ask Rosalie and Alice if you'll talk to Emmett and Jasper."
"Sure. I'll call them later today." He looked pleased with himself. I removed my hand from his leg when I noticed that it was still resting on him. "Wait! You are off next weekend, right? I thought I saw your work calendar and I planned everything around that."
"Yes, I'm off." I chuckled at his thoughtfulness. He was definitely considerate enough to think about my schedule. "You mentioned swimming. Where would we do that?" I loved swimming but wasn't sure what Edward had planned.
"Bella?" He looked at me confused.
"What?"
"Have you not been in the backyard?" I hadn't realized it but he was right. I had only ever been inside the house. Even then, I hadn't looked in every room.
"Ummm no." I bit my lower lip.
"Well, I'm sure that you'll find a backyard of decent size with a pool. How have you not been outside or even looked out the window?"
"I don't know." I answered a little sheepishly. "I've been busy." It was a poor excuse for being unaware of my surroundings.
"I'm also going to guess that you haven't seen the game room." He was only half teasing.
"No. But I shouldn't be surprised that a house this large has a game room. Maybe we can check it out later. How do you get there?"
"You haven't done any exploring after the first day, have you?"
"No. It felt weird to walk around your house. Almost like I was being nosey."
"Bella." He looked at me sadly. "This is your house too. Not just mine."
"I know. I know. I've also been busy since that first week. I haven't really had the time to explore."
"Fair. I'll give you that one. You can get there by a door on the other side of the stairs, almost like it's under the stairs. I'm surprised you haven't noticed or opened it. It leads into the basement where we have a large tv, open room area and plenty of game tables."
"Like? That room sounds massive."
"It is. The entire basement was turned into the recreational room. There is even a full bathroom and half kitchen down there. You asked about the games or game tables?"
"Both. I just want to know what all's down there."
"There's an Xbox for Emmett and I. There's also a pool table, ping pong, air hockey, and a few other things that we could pull out."
"That sounds amazing." I was in awe. I thought for a moment before looking back at Edward. "Will you go to dinner with me tonight? Let me take you out….. like a date." I bit the inside of my cheek in fear that he would reject me. He might think that I'm moving too fast.
"I'd love to. Do you have a preference of where we go?"
I felt relief wash over me when he agreed to go. "There's an Italian restaurant about ten minutes from here that's amazing. I would love to go there."
"Ten minutes? No hiding." He looked at me to see if I'd reconsider.
"No hiding." I smiled at him.
I looked towards the stack of cards in the center of the table. Making a quick decision before my nervousness could play a role, I tore the top card.
"I think we should start this card game." I slowly flipped the card over before letting out a disgruntled sigh. "I thought they were going to start out easy." I complained before biting my lower lip. Who knows if Edward even wanted to talk about this.
"What's wrong? What does it say?" He took the card out of my hand before I could respond.
Discuss your dating/sexual history to prevent confusion in your relationship. Be open with your answers.
"Do you not want to talk about this?" He looked a little hurt. "Talk to me, what about this is hard?"
"It's not that." I sighed. "I know that this topic isn't hard and I know that no topic is off limits. I'm willing to talk about anything with you. I thought that the first question might be different and I wasn't sure that you would want to talk about this."
"Of course I'll talk about this with you! I agree, I thought the first topic might be different but that doesn't change our commitment."
"You're right. I guess that I just said the first thing that popped into my head. It isn't even how I feel about it. I'm not against talking." I was trying to reason with what I said. I had no idea why I was complaining about the topic card. If anything, I wanted to know Edward's answer to this.
"Bella, relax." He grabbed my hand. "Let's go sit on the cough so that we're more comfortable. We can discuss this and you can even bring the cards if we decide to choose another afterwards." I nodded before slowly following him. "Sit next to me?" I didn't say anything but did as he said.
We sat next to each other but not close enough to be touching. "Do you want to start? Let's start with the dating history" I suggested.
"Most of my dating history has been lackluster. I had one promising girlfriend named Kelly, who I dated in high school. I started dating her when I was fifteen and we didn't break up until after graduation. We had sex for the first time when we were 16. After Kelly, I had four different girlfriends but I dated none of them for long."
"What were their names?" I interrupted.
"Their names?" He repeated my question.
"It doesn't matter." I shook my head.
"It matters to you. After Kelly was Vickie, Taylor, Avery, and Kathrine. Those were all my girlfriends. I was in an on again off again relationship with a girl named Irina, we were mostly just fuck buddies."
"Fuck buddies?" I was a little taken back by what he said.
"It means that we were just friends who…"
"I know what it means." I cut him off. "I was just a little shocked. I've never had a 'fuck' buddy or participated in one night stands."
"I've had a one night stand." He rubbed his jaw line with nerves.
"How many?" I asked.
"Just two or three."
"How many total sexual partners have you had?"
"9?"
"Your answer sounds more like a question." I teased.
"What about you? It's your turn to dive deep into your dating history."
"Well I never had a boyfriend until I was in college. While growing up, Jacob and I were close. We never dated but we definitely experimented on each other. He was my first kiss, the first person to touch me, and my first everything but sex."
"Why everything but sex?" His voice sounded a little tighter than usual.
"We thought that crossing the line and having sex would be to much for our friendship because that's all we were. Friends. The only reason why we were 'experimenting' on each other was because we were always together. Our fathers were best friends so in turn, we were best friends. Neither of us wanted to go to college inexperienced but we also didn't want to fall into a relationship together."
"I thought you said that I had nothing to worry about with him. If you were kissing and touching each other, then you were basically having sex."
"No, don't fall down the rabbit hole. Jake and I's relationship never progressed to sex just like if you and I were to kiss or touch, It wouldn't mean that we were having sex. As soon as we graduated, everything stopped. We have not done anything like that since we turned eighteen. If anything, most of our relationship was just kissing."
"How am I supposed to feel about one of your best friend's seeing you naked when I haven't done the same." I was shocked by his words. He chose such an odd phrasing.
"He hasn't seen me naked!" I defended myself.
"Bella." His eyes narrowed at me. "We kept our clothes on. Touching on top of clothing. Hands up and down pants or under blankets if clothing came off. Jake has never seen me naked. Again, we experimented but didn't have sex. It didn't mean anything to either of us, we just didn't want to go to college while uneducated."
"I have a hard time believing that you haven't seen each other naked."
"Edward." It was my turn to narrow my eyes. "You've seen more of my body than Jake has. Especially after you took my dress off." I couldn't help but tease the last part. "I never thanked you. Thank you for taking care of me when I was sloppily drunk. Thank you for respecting me and my body when you helped me undress and redress and thank you for taking the time to take my makeup off."
"Bella, I'm your husband. It's my job to take care of you."
"Well, I appreciate it and I appreciate you caring." I couldn't help but smile at him.
"You're welcome. But don't think you're done answering. I believe you about Jacob but I want to hear the rest."
"I got a boyfriend in college, Tyler, and I lost my virginity to him when I was nineteen. Tyler and I only dated for about two years before breaking up. My second boyfriend was Andrew and we only dated for nine months before breaking up after he cheated on me."
"I'm sorry that he cheated on you." I could hear the sincerity in his words.
"It's ok. He was a tool anyways." I thought for a moment before asking Edward another question. "When was the last time you had sex?"
"About a year, what about you?"
"Two years at least. I'm clean and have never had any diseases."
"Me too. I'm clean."
"Good." My response was awkward but it was good to know. We were both adults and should be able to discuss safe sex practices. "Are you wanting to go out to lunch or dinner?" I asked while trying to break our newly formed tension.
"Dinner but I need to make a few phone calls before we go tonight. Are you wanting to pull another card now? You get to set the pace."
"Not right now, I might grab one later or tomorrow. I don't want to pull too much and rush anything."
"Sure. Do you want to leave for dinner around five?"
"Yes. I enjoy eating early. We can come home and watch a movie afterwards if you want."
"That sounds nice." He agreed with me before leaving the room to make his phone calls.
Once Edward was gone, I turned my body to stretch out on the couch. I rested my head on the armrest when I pulled out my phone to text Rosalie and Alice in a group chat.
Who's off work next weekend? -B
I am. -R
Me too. Why? -A
How do y'all feel about a weekend long sleepover. Including husbands/boyfriends Come over on Friday after work and plan to stay until Sunday morning. -B
I'm in. What do I need to bring? -A
Swimsuits and a good attitude. -B
I'm also in. Do you have any plans? I'll ask Emmett if he's off. -R
I don't know. Not sure of plans, we can watch movies, eat snacks, swim, and play games. -B
Sounds like fun. -A
I was glad that they agreed to come to the sleepover. As juvenile as the idea sounded. It was like my childhood dream coming true. It will also be nice to see how Edward interacts with his family.
EPOV
It was very eye opening to discuss my sexual past with Bella. I'm a little worried about her and Jacob's relationship but I've decided to put my fears aside and trust her. I also saw her eyes widen when she heard my body count. I could tell that it had made her nervous when she heard that I had nine sexual partners. Especially compared to her two and a half. I doubted that she wanted Jacob to fully count.
I stepped away from Bella to call Emmett. I wanted to talk to him about next weekend before I had a chance to forget. It pleased me that we were playing into every kid's fantasy about wanting a large sleepover party. Part of me was playing into my childhood desire and missed the cousin sleepovers.
"Hey man, what's up?" Emmett was quick to pick up the line.
"Nothin much. I was just calling to invite you to my place next Friday through Sunday morning."
"That's ok with B?"
"Yeah, she liked the idea. I think she might still be feeling lonely."
"I'm sorry to hear that. Is she still salty about the whole marriage."
"Emmett." I had a warning tone in my voice.
"What?! It's a genuine question. Rosalie and Alice said that she was upset and I'm just making sure that y'all worked it out. No need to get grumpy, maybe I should tell Bella that you need to get laid more." I knew that he was joking with the last part, but it still got under my skin.
"We don't do that."
"Pardon?"
"Bella and I aren't having sex, okay." I growled the words out.
"I'm sorry man.'
"Don't be. It's not her fault that she was forced into a marriage and doesn't want to fuck the man who was roped in with her." I was partially joking and partially defending our choice to not fall in bed with each other as strangers.
"You like her!"
"I don't know man. She's sweet and definitely hot. I just want her to be happy even if that meant we were only friends." I want to be more than friends.
"Shit dude, you do like her." He was silent for a moment before continuing. "I've never seen you be so quick to defend someone. If you want her, like truly want her and want a relationship with her….. then go for it man. Just know if you break her heart, I'll break your face."
I was glad that Emmett was so willing to defend Bella. Even without his threat, I had no plans to hurt her.
"Can we get back to the topic?"
"What did you call about again?"
"Emmett." I grumbled.
"I'm kidding. I'll be there and so will Rosie. Do we need to bring anything?"
"Yeah, booze and a good attitude."
"I'll have to ask Rose about the alcohol part." He was quiet for a moment. "Rose and I are trying for a baby so I don't know if she'd be up to drinking. But I'll talk to her. What's one more week?"
"Congrats! I'm glad that you and Rosalie are trying, I know that a baby would make y'all happy. No worries if she doesn't want to drink. We can have plenty of fun without Alcohol."
"Thanks for understanding."
"Of course. I know that you'd do the same for me."

I dressed in a knee length skirt and a black tee shirt. The restaurant wasn't overly fancy but I definitely wanted to look nicer for our dinner. I paired my outfit with some flats and braided my hair to the side. Edward also dressed nicely in a pair of khakis and a blue polo.
"If you want to give me the address, I'll drive." He offered. I agreed by plugging the address into his GPS.
"Ok, but next time we should take my Camaro."
"Deal." He provided me with a crooked grin as we got into his car.
The drive to the restaurant was quiet and quick. We didn't have anything to talk about but the silence didn't feel heavy either. I was excited when we finally pulled into the restaurant parking lot. I'm a big fan of Italian but I was also excited to be on a date with Edward. I hope that he also thinks this is a date.
"Table for two?" The host asked while staring at Edward.
"Yes." We followed her to our table. Edward walked beside me, guiding me with his hand on the small of my back.
Edward and I sat across from each other while browsing the menu. "What do you normally get?"
"Shrimp Alfredo. I know it's basic." I never strayed from my pasta. I was afraid to try something new, incase I didn't like it.
"Then I'll have the chicken Alfredo. Do you want to share an appetizer?"
"Sure. Which one were you looking at?"
"Toasted ravioli, but only if you want it."
"Sure, Edward. I'd love to share with you." I had no clue why he seemed so nervous again.
We order our meals and appetizers before starting a new course of conversation.
"I called Emmett today."
"What did y'all talk about?"
"I asked him if he was available to come over next weekend."
"Oh good, is he coming?"
"He says he will be there. Have you talked to Alice and Rosalie yet?"
"Yeah, when you went to make your phone calls. I wanted to text them before I forgot, They both said that they were coming."
"Good. I'll send Jasper a text later. It looks like we will have a packed weekend."
The meal had just arrived when we changed the topic of our conversation.
"Did you know Rose and Emmett are trying for a baby?" Edward waited for my answer.
"She told me on girl's night. I didn't say anything because I didn't know who she was telling. It wasn't my business to share. Emmett told you?"
"Yeah. I asked him to bring booze for the weekend but he wanted to discuss that with Rosalie first."
"You wanted alcohol? What happened to not drinking?" I teased him.
"Well, we will be in a safe environment. Why should you have all the drunken fun?"
"Low blow." I faked being hurt. "You're right, it's my turn to undress you and wipe off that pretty makeup you wear." I stuck my tongue out. Reel it in Bella. Don't be so childish.
"Do you want kids?" Edward's question snapped me back to reality.
"What?"
"I was thinking about how Emmett and Rosalie are starting a family. I realized that I didn't know if you wanted kids or not."
"I do. One day. Maybe two or three. Not to many though. Are you wanting kids?"
"I haven't thought about it much." He pondered for a moment. "I'd be ok with a couple of kids. I think that we could make some cute kids." Was Edward already thinking about having kids with me?
"Yeah, they could be pretty cute." I chuckled nervously. "I think that we should have three little girls."
"Oh, really? I think that we need three little boys. All with brown hair and brown eyes just like their mother."
"No, no, no. That's boring. They need green eyes and your bronze hair."
"How about an even split. My eyes, your hair. One boy, one girl, then a tie breaker."
"Deal." I chuckled at the idea of planning out our future kids.
"This is really good!" Edward moaned around the food that he was shoving in his mouth.
"I know! I'm glad that we came out tonight, I'm really enjoying the time that we spend together." I couldn't help the honesty that spilled from me.
"Me too." His smile made my heart melt. "Do you want to go home and watch a movie?"
"I'd love to. You get to pick this time. You weren't that impressed by Finding Nemo."
The waiter brought us the check and Edward paid despite my protests. He wasn't even willing to split the check with me. He was focused on treating me. He was also a gentleman who held the door for me. He kept me close as we went to the car and he even opened the car door for me.
We were listening to the gentle hum of the car when Edward broke the silence.
"We should do this again. Wednesday, after work. I want to take you out, my treat."
"I'd love to go. But you treated me tonight so I think it's my turn to treat you."
"Nonsense. You asked me out so It's my turn." He pulled A folded card out of his pocket and handed it to me.
Take your partner out. Treat them properly and cherish your date.
"That's kinda specific." I realized that the card came from his 'romantic' deck.
"Yeah." He rubbed the back of his neck. "I was going to ask you out but you beat me to it."
"Sorry." I mumbled.
"Don't be, I enjoyed myself." I handed him the card back. He stuffed it in his pocket as we continued to get closer to home.
We arrived home and quickly stripped our shoes off. I made the decision to sit close to Edward since I was missing the feel of his touch. Edward gladly accepted my close proximity and wrapped his arm around my side. He pulled me closer to him and draped a blanket over our lap.
As the movie began playing, I tucked my feet under my body and rested my head on Edward's shoulder. The movie he chose wasn't terrible but I definitely didn't find it exciting. I was restless by the middle of the film and started squirming around to get more comfortable.
"Bella." I paused my movements and my checks started heating up.
"Sorry." I quietly murmured.
"Don't be sorry. I can just tell that you're bored."
"Is it that obvious?" I bit my lower lip.
"With all your movements, yes." He chuckled. "Do you want to do something else instead?"
"No. We should finish the movie." I stood from the couch. "I'm going to grab myself a drink, do you want one?" I offered.
"Water, please."
I took my time in the kitchen while grabbing our drinks. I don't know why I couldn't sit still for the movie. An idea popped into my head when I spotted our deck of cards on the table. I took a breath before tearing off the next card and flipping it over.
Spend the night together, platonically, in the same bed.
I was partially glad that I would have a reason to sleep in Edward's bed again. The comfort level was much better compared to my bed. I grabbed our drinks before heading back to the couch with the card.
"Thank you." Edward smiled and took his drink from me.
I sat a little further from Edward but he pulled me back into his side. I placed the card on his leg so that he could easily read it. He stared at the card for a while before commenting.
"Ok." He whispered.
"Ok?"
"Yeah, why wouldn't it be ok?"
"I don't know. You were looking at it for a while."
"I was just thinking." He gave me a small smile.
….
After the movie ended, we collectively got ready for bed.
"I'm going to shower upstairs but will meet you back down here." I told him while heading up the stairs.
By the time that we were in the bedroom, I was nervous. I had chosen a long tee shirt and a pair of leggings. I was self conscious about how I normally sleep. Edward was dressed in a tee shirt and a pair of gym shorts. He definitely looked different than he did this morning, while shirtless.
"Do you sleep with a fan on?" I asked him.
"Yes, do you?"
"Yes. But I also use a lot of blankets. I hate being cold."
"You don't look like you should be cold." He chuckled while climbing in bed. I followed his lead so that we were facing each other under the sheets. I placed a pillow in between our bodies to prevent myself from reaching out to him.
"I guess not. I don't normally wear leggings."
"Oh, what do you normally wear then?" I wasn't sure if he was teasing me or actually asking. Either way, I was feeding into his question.
"Just a tee shirt and panties. You? I noticed you had a bare chest this morning." I don't think that he was prepared for my answer. His eyebrows shot up and he made a low growling sound.
"Just boxers."
"Are we talking about trunks, boxer briefs, or boxer boxers?"
"Wouldn't you like to know."
"Maybe I would." I murmured.
"I'll show you mine if you show me yours." I could tell that he was teasing me but it didn't prevent the color from rising in my cheeks.
"You wish." I rolled my eyes before rolling to my other side.
"Maybe I do." He whispered before turning the lights off.
"Good night, Edward." I set my phone alarm before rolling onto my back.
"Good night, Bella." Edward reached over our dividing pillow and kissed my forehead.
His action surprised me but I refrained from saying anything. Instead, choosing to focus on how soft his lips were and how sweet his action was.
