Preface

I's said that good stories start in disaster, and clearly this was such a story.

Isabella Swan, a forty-three year old psychologist, was watching her son grow up before her eyes, and it was all happening too fast for her liking. Having a teenager wasn't easy, especially a sensitive one like him, but he was her life. A good job, a great kid, what more could she ask for? Clearly not her neighbor Lieutenant Edward Cullen, with his masculine tattoo-covered body and his racy, sarcastic character, causing her already bad day to become remarkably worse.

Edward, also forty-three, deciding that returning from the Middle East would be best for his seventeen-year-old son, never imagined that his new neighbor would be so insufferable. However, despite being more unbearable than he could tolerate, he was crazily attracted to her strength, vitality and, yes, that she was drop-dead gorgeous .

Did they expect to watch their children fall in love? Or having to tolerate one another for their kid's sake? Definitely not.

Did they expect their attraction, once given free rein, would result in a earth-shattering romance? Or, and here's the icing on the cake, a positive pregnancy test? Impossible! Completely inconceivable!

Was it a bad idea, or the start to an adventure of a lifetime? One full of compromise, hope, and love. Oh, and a cute little girl, who would turn their lives upside down.
