A story about a little less "noble and selfless" Subaru. The story starts in arc 6 (so minor spoilers) but will have Subaru sent back in time after receiving many buffs and If memories through contracts with Satella and Volcanica. This is no crackfic even if it sounds like one and I try my best to stay lore-friendly.

4. Chapter 4

(Authors notes: small request from those who are willing to be my beta reader ? Or whatever it's called to help me with typos and the way i say words unless i see actual examples i can't improve so if your willing hit me up with you e mail or discord link

I will be introducing some new spells in this or next chapter for now i already finished making one still working on another one here it is

Blanket : Spell is in fact reverse of El shamack for normal shamack it's alters perception of those it affects such as separating targets sense or perception of it's surrounding and rendering target blind

Blanket on another hand do opposite it alters perception of the target rendering target imperceptible to it's surroundings rendering it invisible for all who are not in blankets area of effect

(It's same concept of reverse effects usage as it's in cannon example be goa fire ball spell and Emilia's ice dart attack it's still fire based spell but opposite effects making it into new spell so blanket can be indeed considered cannon friendly)

And instead of normal black cloud associated with shamack blanket it's self is imperceptible for all who are outside it's range and for who are inside it's range it's appear as light fog for spell still have behaviour of a shamack

This is one off new spell i made so far not sure if i end up using it now or later so keep it in mind

And now let' get into it

Chapter 4 : THE EYE OF THE STORM

As Subaru finally weaken up from his relaxing sleep on Emilia lap he looked around himself to see beautiful half-elf girl looking at him with a soft smile and kind look

"How long was I'm asleep" asked the boy with still drowsy look in his eyes

"For about one or two hours " said half-elf with her bell live voice

"You should waken me up your legs must be sore" said Subaru as he was slowly getting up from Emilia's lap

"You seem like you really needed rest so i just let you sleep" said half-elf with mother like tone

"Thanks you for letting me rest last month was a bit hectic for me" said Subaru with a bit off a chuckle

"is that so you must be working super hard then" said the girl with her finger on her lips and slight blush

"Who says super hard in this day and age" said Subaru as he was chuckling

"why do i feel your making fun out off me" said half-elf with a pout

" So i am curious had Roswell been different in his hmmm... let's say way of teaching you about your role as Quin " said Subaru with slight curiosity

"Yes Roswell for some reason decided to get a instructor to come in 3 times a week to practice how to make speeches he was really adamant about it too" said half-elf as she was thinking

"Then he had me practice singing and dancing but singing instructor just left after few minutes saying it lost cause" said Emilia with lowered head

At this Subaru remembered Emilia singing first time he heard it he thought he might as well use emilia's singing voice as deterrent against witch beast for it's was just that bad

" dancing you can dance now" asked Subaru with a tilted head

"No not really for i cant seem to follow the song " said Emilia as she just pulled her knees to her chest and grabbed her own legs placing her chin on her knees in sad manner

"That's probably mean that your tone deaf nothing that cant be fixed with few tricks and a bucket " said Subaru as he chucked remembering first time he said this to her

" Your making fun out off me how will bucket help me" said now angry looking Emilia

"When you place a bucket on your head and try to sing the sound from you will bounce around bucket making it vibrate you can use this vibration as a way to determine how out off sink your voice is with a song" said Subaru with his fingers in air as if teaching a child

" your not joking are you" said now serious looking half-elf

"No not at all it's something that people use back in my hometown for tone deaf people " said Subaru as he remembered his home with a nostalgic look

" can you tell me where are you from" said half-elf

" a place you never heard of that i am sure and something i prefer not to say as it's makes me sound like lunatic or delusional individual " said Subaru with a bit off resignation in his voice

"I will believe you" said half-elf now looking curious towards the boy

" ok let's see i am from place known as Japan that is located on planet earth who is not part off this world " said Subaru with a bit off a smirk on his face as he seen half-elf with widened eyes

"Do that's means your from behind grate waterfall" said Emilia with what can now be described as a wander in her voice

" No the term used Behind grate waterfall is inaccurate but it's normally left at that because people here can not fully understand what it means different world " said Subaru looking at half-elf with a soft smile

"So what it actually mean then" asked Emilia with a tilted head

"Best way to describe it be look into a night sky and you see stars each and every one off those stars represent different sun somewhere far away and next to that sun there's many big floating rocks some off them have life and this life refers to that floating rock as their world " said Subaru in teaching manner

"so a life from those different rocks coming here will say i am from a different world " said Subaru making the point

Only to see half-elf if in awe with a widened eyes

"Do that means your from a sky then" she asked in innocent manner

"That i am unsure myself to be honest for i don't actually know how it's was done to bring me here i do know who did it though " said Subaru with a chuckle

" so someone bring you here for something and now your stuck and can't go back" said Emilia with tears in her eyes

"More less yes but there's more to it and it's really complicated and a long story so i normally avoid talking about it too much " said Subaru with a half smile

"Don't you miss your home " she asked bit saddened

"I do but not as much now for i find a way to contact my parents back home" said Subaru with a smile

" i would love to talk to your parents they must be really nice" said emilia still looking at Subaru with awe and now some understanding of why he is not bothered by her appearances

" that's next to impossible for anyone that is not me or Beatrice for they cant get access to a means needed to talk to my parents " said Subaru with bit sad look

Emilia felt bit jealous of the spirit for having access to talk to Subaru parents but she pushed this though aside for now

"Now i want you to promise me to keep my hometown secret for me as my origin normally brings more trouble for me then it's worth " said Subaru with a sad smirk

"Ok i promise" said half-elf with a warm expression on her face feeling that she is important for a boy to tell her such secret

" say i think diner be ready soon it be nice to eat food that not made by me from time to time " said Subaru as he stand up and did some stretching

"Yes rem or Petra should come over to inform us about it soon i think " said Emilia as she was standing up as well

" Well i think Petra have her hands full right now with girls " said Subaru as he was chuckling

"Oh yeah i seen you bring a small girl with you" said emilia in innocent manner

" Emilia you making me sound really evil when you say it like that you know " said Subaru as he looked towards half-elf

" but then who is she" Emilia asked curiously

"She is Natsuki meiling my adopted daughter her mother was not very nice so i had a chat with her and well things happened so that's that" said Subaru as if it's normal thing to him

"Ohhh poor girl i wander can i help her somehow " said Emilia with a bit of sad expression

" you can help her by being good role model for she is at age where she likes to impersonate people around her she likes " said Subaru with warm smile

" she is still a child after all and she needs good people around her to grow up with " said Subaru as he was looking around for his little kid

Emilia for some reason nodded to her self holding her fist to her chest as if she made up her mind about something

And as duo was walking back to the mansion from the garden a maid in golden hair showed

" Greetings lady emilia and dear guest my name is federica bulman i work as maid in this mansion as well as i train new maid" said the maid with formal greeting

" call me Subaru and i call you federica i hope we will get along " said Subaru in his casual manner

" pardon me dear guest but as a maid i can't address guest of the lord without proper horrific " she said shaking her head

" then how about this you look after my girls and i help you with some chores you have" said Subaru with his trademark smile and thumbs up

" But dear guest i can't possibly let you to do work off a servant " she replied bit shaken

" there was a time i worked as butler so i know my way around the work off a servant don't worry " said Subaru as he waved his hand only for emilia and federica to widen their eyes at revelation

" Subaru you never said you where a butler before " said Emilia looking at the boy

" hmm... there was time when i needed any job i can get my hands on and butler just so happened to be one off jobs i got" said Subaru as he remembered his time with rem and then his first arrival at mansion

" well i be more then happy to have some extra time for my self and if it's to look after lady Beatrice and adorable little girl meiling i am more then happy to accept " said federica with big smile and her sharp fangs where in full display Subaru took a note off it but paid no attention

" and i was told to inform you that dinner is ready and to ask you to make your way to dinner room " said federica with a maids courtesy and was leading duo to dinner room

On the way there Subaru seen Beatrice running away from two girls one had dolls in her hands and other had bunch of clothes in hers

Upon seeing Subaru Beatrice launched herself to him only for Subaru to catch her in process carry style and as Beatrice looked at Subaru she had a look of " Don't you even think about it" written all over her adorable face

Subaru looking at Beatrice begin to widen his smile with and had eye's of pure mischief in them

Beatrice was about to say something but was interrupted by two girls who finally managed to catch up

" Now now girls federica said dinner is ready we should attend soon " said Subaru looking at two girls who nodded almost immediately

" After dinner you can play with Beatrice to your harts content " said Subaru as he looked towards Beatrice who had look of betrayal in her eye's

"Or do you not want to play with your friends" said Subaru as he poked Beatrice cheeks

Only for petra to come up to Beatrice in asking manner with a sad look on her " Beatrice you don't want to play anymore " she said adorning look of a lost puppy

Beatrice knew she can't say no to those eye's given up shortly And said " fine i suppose i play but no more drees ups in fact " she said with a humf only to have two girls height five each other something meiling learned from her time with her now father and showed it to Petra

" Ohhh my adorable little girl begin to mimic some off my subarusms" said Subaru with look of pride in his eyes

Meiling just lowered her head and looked back to Subaru in shy manner " Subaru-nii is mean" she said with adorable pout

" ahh how much you changed in such a short time makes me soo much more happy seeing you running around like this without care in the world " said Subaru in a dramatic way only to earn giggling from all girls but Beatrice who simply sight

" Stop your tomfoolery and let's go eat before food gets cold in fact" she said with a humf

Only for Subaru to poke her cheeks saying cute cute

Federica seeing Beatrice act in this way was pleasantly surprised for she never seen her act in such a carefree way before and after she shrugged off the shock from what she seen she leads everyone to the dining room

Inside dinning room Subaru and gang seen twins and Roswell already at the table welcoming them to sit by the table

As everyone but the maids took a seat Roswell said " now i hope everyone already knows who is this girl here by the table " he said as he pointed toward meiling

" she is my adopted daughter so be nice to her " said Subaru interrupting what ever Roswell was thinking of saying

Only for Roswell to twitch his eyebrow but he continued " i hope you do know who she was before becoming your adopted daughter " he said with a sinister smile

" Oh yes i do know and i already talked to her mother about it" said Subaru as matter of a fact only to earn even bigger smile from Roswell

" a yes the mother i believe she runs a nasty organisation back in gusteco " said Roswell who was about to burst into massive smile

" Correction she used to not anymore " responded Subaru as a matter off the fact something that wiped the smile off clowns face

" and what's do that mean if i might ask my dear guest " he said in neutral manner

"It's means she will no longer be problem to anyone ever again as well as her organisation is out off business permanently " responded Subaru with a bit off a smirk and meiling simply grabbed Subaru's clothing Holding on to it

"Erm Subaru what do that mean " Asked Emilia in innocent manner

" It's means that she is dead and all her so called children had been freed from her torture " said Subaru in serious manner

This earned looked of sadness directed towards meiling from everyone but Roswell and those who already known

" Now if you done enjoying miserable past and her pain to your harts content my dear clown can we actually eat" said Subaru in deadpan manner

This earned angry looks from almost everyone as a result Roswell given his half assed apology and directed everyone to eat

After they finished the meal meiling could not help but comment " Subaru-nii food is more delicious " she said in innocent way only to earn confused look from Emilia then eye twisting looks from Roswell and lastly a look of hurt pride from rem who was burning with determination to improve

" Of course it is a food made by family members is always more delicious then food made by strangers " said Subaru as he was petting little girl head but rem and ram known that's bullshit for Subaru's cooking skills are no joke they still remember that cake

" ohh i would like to try your food as well" said Emilia with a pout

" Hmm how about i make some tomorrow as i promised federica to help her out a little if she looks after my adorable girls but that's only for one day some time tomorrow meilings caretaker should be showing up" said Subaru to now surprised clown and emilia

"you already have caretaker for little meiling " said Emilia with a small sad look on her face and had a look as if she failed in something

" well to be more honest it's more meiling is her caretaker then other way around " said Subaru as he was chuckling

" Naked-nesa is just to silly" said meiling agreeing with Subaru

" so i want to have as much help looking after my adorable girls as i can " said Subaru with a shrug

Only for Emilia to regain her determination

And federica felt like this favour might be way more then she bargained for but if it's only to look after few girls it should be fine right right

" and who is this caretaker is if you don't mind me asking " said Roswell as he looked towards Subaru with calculating look

" Hmm nothing special only a really energetic girl who is a bit of air head as well i know you will get along well " said Subaru as he looked at emilia

" Subaru why i feel you making fun out off me again" said Emilia with a pouting expression only to ern giggle from everyone but Roswell

For Roswell this development is unexpected a small girl can still be planned around but caretaker of this girl who he knows nothing about might prove to be troublesome

But Roswell decided to wait and see for there's too many unknowns for him to deal with and his book said nothing about it

Roswell for first time in a long long time felt that he knows nothing only for him to shake his head off getting rid of this ridiculous thoughts for if his book don't mention it then it's not important it's not first time this happened

As the day grows to a close mansions member went to sleep meiling was given room next to Subaru that just so happens to be next to Emilia as per Roswell instructions

But meiling instead of going into her room went to fort of mystery to her bed she been sleeping for last month and now next to her bed there where 2 more beds hers in the middle of two,

one belongs to Elsa's other shaulas for this is spot where she felt safest in the world inside her adopted father's castle between two people she now trust as much as Subaru and her bed is covered in her favourite dolls for they are dolls of elsa , Subaru, Beatrice, shaula people she holds closest to her hart

As she looked towards beds she seen really happy looking elsa almost as if she is in love with shaula and shaula was ordering her to stay at her side and don't cross any where near her bed meiling nodded her head happy and jumped into her bed and buried herself into blankets with a dolls in her hands

And Subaru chose to sleep instead his mansions room with Beatrice as duo fallen a sleep somewhere in other part off mansion there was a clown and red haired girl on his lap doing their own nightly routine

" Say what do you think of the dear guest now " asked clown as he begin to infuse mana into girls forehead

And the girl holding back hear moaning voice said " i still can't put my finger on him his all over the place one second he acts like goof ball other like solder or a knight then he acts like merchant and now he haves adopted daughter " said ram with a blushing cheeks

"This boy is indeed mystery even to me but i will see past his mask one way or another " said Roswell as he looked past the window

" i might need your help for this my dear ram" said Roswell as he looked to maid

" Anything lord Roswell " said ram almost as if she's love stricken

" this caretaker that comes tomorrow i want you find out anything you can about her " he said as he finished mana infusion

" it shall be done" said ram as she jumped off his lap and give maids nod

Roswell looked into the night sky and said " what will you show me tomorrow natsuki Subaru "

The next day early in the morning there was a woman half naked with a cape walking in from outside towards the mansion entrance as per her master's instruction she must come as if she come from somewhere and not the fort

She then got to the door and started knocking it but the way she was knocking the door was bit too strong as entire door was shaking for sheer force of it

But before the she can brake the door maid opened it and was greeted by blue haired maid

" How can i help you" she said in polite greeting manner befitting that of a maid

" my master told me to come so here i am" responded shaula with a bit of inpatient tone

" You must be caretaker for meiling i take it" responded rem and shaula simple said " ankle bitter number two is one i look after" she said with a smirk and puffed out chest

Rem nothing similarities between Subaru and this woman facial expressions could tell they are related in same way so she gestured her in and lead her to Subaru room but before they got there rem can tell Subaru is not in his room but instead he is in garden but before she can say something half naked woman said

" I found master " and she just took off towards garden braking window as she jumped out off it

Rem struggling to keep up with the new guest seen broken window and half naked girl trying to hug Subaru only for him to dodge her as rem too jumped pass the broken window she approached the group of Subaru sleepy looking Emilia, annoyed looking Beatrice, and giggling meiling

" Subaru-kun is this the caretaker you mentioned " said rem dropping horrific as she was looking at half naked women like she is a pest

"Oh yes that's her by the way want to join in my morning ritual " said Subaru as he looked at rem with his happy and cheerful trade mark smile for being called Subaru-kun by rem after so long

"Ritual " said rem with a tilted head

" Cardio gymnastic something i do every morning " said Subaru with a thumbs up

" oh yes that weird dance thing you do every morning " said rem

" It's not wired it's good for your health and should be enjoyed by all" said Subaru with determination to make it happen only for rem to sight and join in as well but before they begin federica and petra come out off mansion to investigate the noise only for Subaru to invite them too petra immediately accepted and federica reluctantly agreed

"Victory " shouted almost everyone but federica and rem even puck joined as well coming out off his crystal but before he can say anything towards anyone he was grabbed out off air by meiling saying kitty soon followed by petra and Beatrice

As 3 girl's where pulling puck from all sides wanting to play with a cat Emilia giggle seeing this and said play nice with him but left him with the girl's anyhow only to be met with a scared looking cat who was about to protest but got squashed by little girls as they hugged him

" Oh hey puck looks like you will soon be called lolimancer " said Subaru as he was laughing out loud to himself seeing angry looking cat staring him down

"Subaru-sama might you introduce us to your caretaker" said federica

At this ram appeared as well from inside the mansion

" Oh ok meet my assistant ,star keeper and caretaker of my daughter shaula " said Subaru as he presented the half naked women

The name cost some stir among the residents of the mansion but where immediately dismissed as mistake for there's no way this girl is a sage for a sage is a wise man not this stupid looking thing

" How shameless to call your self by this name" said ram as she approached shaula and shaula having been her name denied by some random pest could not allow to let it past so she was about to cut rams head off but was stopped at last moment by Subaru

" STOP " said Subaru in commanding voice and shaula frozen her hand next to ram neck she then turned her head toward Subaru and said

" But this thing dares deny name given to me by my master she needs to be punished " said shaula as she point toward ram who only now got her bearings ram took a step back and lower her head

" my apology dear guest i didn't expected anyone to call them self by name shaula especially not by woman " said ram in professional manner but underneath her professionalism she knew that if Subaru haven't stop this girl she be dead now

" shaula we will need to work on your trigger happy personality later for now be nice " said Subaru as he waved his hand

" ram be careful with your mouth you will be one paying for it" said Subaru looking at ram with bit of understanding

"Yes master " responded shaula instantly as if she just forgot what happened

No one dared to question shaulas name after that display

" now don't worry everyone shaula is harmless as long as you don't insult her or one's she is looking after then she gets bit dangerous " said Subaru with a chuckle

" if you say so Subaru " responded Emilia with a bit off concern but ram dared not question it she simply remained silent

" Now federica i promised that i help you out how about i make breakfast for everyone so you can look after my girls ok" said Subaru in pleading manner

" are you sure she is safe " said federica pointing towards half naked woman

" shaula stay on your best behaviour understood " said Subaru looking at scorpion

Who immediately with a big cheerful smile on her face responded " i will be on my best behaviour yes sir" giving small salute only for Subaru to roll his eyes

" Yes don't worry she be fine federica just refrain from talking like ram and you be fine" said Subaru as he pointed towards red oni

" If it's just that there's shouldn't be a problem " nodded federica as she took all little girls and half naked woman along with her to play

" now i should probably start on making breakfast " said Subaru pumping him self up as he went to the kitchen

Followed by ram and rem

" you better control that beast off a woman barusu" said ram looking at Subaru with distain

" And you better control your mouth for it's what created this situation in a first place " said Subaru as he looked at ram with a smirk

" Subaru-sama even i get upset if you talk with my sister like that " said rem with dangerous glint in her eyes

" so i supposed to take her abuse and say nothing " asked Subaru with raised eyebrows

To this rem could not respond and ram simply huffed

" by the way sin archbishop of lust died not long ago" said Subaru like after thought

Rem and ram frozen stuck

" You better not be joking or else i-" ram way saying but was interrupted by Subaru

" should i send shaula to baby sit you for my stay here " said Subaru with a smirk

Ram shut up but rem asked " is this true that sin archbishop is dead " rem was containing her rage but maintained civil conversation

To this Subaru took off his hat and pulled book from it " this is what remains of her " as he showed partially eaten gospel to maids

"This is " asked maids in unison as they still didn't recognised the book

" Gospel" Subaru said one word and both maids took a step back from the book rem was about to hit it with her weapon

" Don't worry Roswell already knows you can confirm with him " said Subaru as he put a book back into his hat and placed hat back on his head

" so it's true " said rem

" Yes it is" responded Subaru as he begin preparing food

At this ram left the kitchen but rem stayed

" how it happened " she asked

" Help me out to make food and i tell you how she met her end " said Subaru with a small smile and rem nodded her head

As duo now where preparing food Subaru recounted the story leaving out few key details says it's secret such as tower or assassins organisation but did mentioned the rabbit something that earned a gleeful expression from rem as he described how she was eaten alive by it

" now i ask you don't tell anyone about what you learned even Roswell " said Subaru looking at rem

" But if he commands me i have to respect it " said rem with a sad look

" but you don't have to say everything just say that she got trapped and rabbit got to her but don't say how or where she was trapped you still not lie to him " said Subaru with a smirk

" But why not tell him" asked rem now confused

" I don't trust him that's all" responded Subaru as matter of a fact

" do that means you trust me then " she asked with a hopeful expression

" Do i have reason not to " he responded with a smile

Rem with a bit off a blush said "no" and continued working away but this time they where having more uplifting conversations and before long the food was done and rem went to summon all mansions residents for a food

As Subaru was bringing food to the table he seen frederica who was adoring happy but tired expression and he said " you didn't agreed for a chase did you " he asked knowing full well what that entailed

" mailing said it be funny to run around in garden and before long shaula-san wanted to run around as well" said federica with a bit off resignation in her voice

" Let me guess she run off all the way to village and back " said Subaru as he chucked

Federica looked at Subaru with a bit off angry expression " no she was running in the forest around the village like 20 times with meiling on her shoulders " said federica as if she was chasing after her

" let's say she spent a lot off time in one spot and now that she can move around more freely she tends to run all over the place " said Subaru as he looked at tired maid

" just wait for her in the spot she left and she normally returns back after about good 10 or 20 minutes " said Subaru as if he remembered first time shaula and meiling went for a run

" I will keep that in mind for next time " said federica as she finished serving the table

Federica soon offered to help bring food from kitchen to table and before long all mansions residents where gathered by the table and for once it went by peacefully after breakfast was served Emilia said she needs to talk to spirits and Subaru followed her to the garden

" Subaru you don't have to come you know " she said looking at the boy

" Oh ok i understand you don't want me around ok i leave you alone " said Subaru as he turned around and started walking toward mansion

Emilia immediately stopped Subaru " i don't mean it like that " she said as she was panicking

" then how do you meant it " said Subaru with a bit off mischief in his eyes seeing now panicked half-elf

" i i umm... i erm.. " at this emilia was struggling to come up with anything to say and Subaru looked at her amused

" well i am waiting " said Subaru with a smirk

" umm you see ermm when i talk to spirits they seem to be really attracted to you so " said Emilia as she was playing with her fingers

" and what that supposed to mean " said Subaru with a tilted head

" It's makes it really hard for me to talk to them " said emilia almost with a shout

" So you don't want me around then ok " responded Subaru as he continued walking back to mansion

" No no it's not that but you know " said panicked half-elf

"How about this i help you talk to spirits if my spirit affinity is a problem " said Subaru as he turned back to look at emilia

" But how can you do that and i need to talk to them as part off my contract " said emilia as she was still feeling bit frustrated with situation she found herself in she don't want for Subaru to leave but he attracts attention from spirits making it hard for her to communicate

"Easy i just say to spirits how fun you are to tease " said Subaru with a shrug and a giggle

Emilia now looking at Subaru with a pout " your messing with me " said angry looking half-elf but to Subaru she looked cute

Subaru was thinking for a bit but then he called in any and all spirits in area saying " this girl here is fun to tease have fun" and like avalanche spirits come out running like children in kindergarten towards their favourite toy

Emilia was overwhelmed for so many spirits come out and all off them gathered around her at this emilia frozen for there too many for her to handle

" Now now little ones don't be inpatient try one at the time " said Subaru with a chuckle

And at this the voices in emilia's mind slowly diminished to more manageable levels she turned at Subaru saying " you can handle so many voices at once" she said with a bit off a wander

" a trick for you to improve in your spirits arts imagine spirits not as spirits but as a small children and you should try treating them as such " said Subaru as he looked at amazed half-elf

" then how do you can call in so many " she asked

" Same way you call in children to play simply shout out laud in your mind for kids to gather like Who wants to play and spirits like children they are will respond well most off them " said Subaru with a chuckle

At this emilia tried to imagine spirits as small children and before long the balls off light that she knows as spirits begin to sound really clear to her she was amazed that such a small trick can be used to help with her spirit arts

" The better you are at dealing with kids the better your spirit arts become well for the most part " said Subaru as he seen spirits dancing around emilia almost like bunch of kids asking to tell them a story

Something even emilia understood so she told them about her time with mansions residents before she even realised she was talking about Subaru and after she was done spirits still didn't leave like normal this caused bit concern for the half-elf

And so she ordered shaula to clean her own mess shaula surprisingly did just that no complaints and no back talk she normally do towards everyone other but not federica she asked meiling about it but she simply say she doesn't know why so federica after some time passed and duo in the garden finished what they where doing she went to ask Subaru about it

" my apologies Subaru but i wanted to ask you something " said maid using her maids manner of speaking

" yes go ahead " responded Subaru

" I was just wandering how come shaula-san seems so obedient towards me but absolutely ignore everybody else " she asked with tilted head and curiosity

" oh about that you probably remained her some one from past or she thinks you are that person from past shaula is really bad at telling who is who you see " said Subaru with a chuckle

" Then i must give my thanks to this person from past i wander who that might be " said federica with a small tilted head

" A witch of wrath Minerva who had blond hair like yours that's probably why she mistake you for her " said Subaru as he waved off now frozen stiff maid and he walked away

As day went by Subaru was doing his own thing making sure that assassins in the fort of mystery are well taken care off as well as making few items to sell for his money will dry up soon if he don't get some soon

As night rolled in he got elsa with him and went to on a bit off a trip to sell his items using the bat Express and he got elsa a clock to ensure she don't attract too much attention

" well then handsome boss what we are to kill this lovely evening " said Elsa in seductive manner

" No one we are here to add more skills to your arsenal for outside off being a killer you know nothing " said Subaru as matter of a fact

Something elsa can't refuse because it's true

" And what skills do you wish for me to learn then " asked elsa intrigued

" trade or a merchant way off doing things" responded Subaru to now confused elsa

" but why me ?" she asked pointing towards herself

" two main reasons first your agile and strong you can get away or fight your way out if things go bad second you still carry your reputation as bowel hunter and there will be time when some one will try to hire you as assassin and i want to know who will be they " said Subaru he looked at elsa in serious manner

And finally he got back to mansion it was midnight but he got into mansion undetected by others and find himself inside bedroom then he promptly fall a sleep

Now inside his room of shadows Subaru looked around and before long he seen tella trying to make some food with apron or be more accurate naked apron

"Hmm i just wanted to surprise you that's all my beloved " said tella as she purposely left her less covered areas be more visible towards Subaru

" and why your in that " he asked with a bit of a smile

Tella looked back at Subaru and see his eyes that where beginning to be filled with lust she then finished what she was doing and bring some food closer towards Subaru

" I wanted to make sure your new authority will not be awakened by anyone other then me my beloved " said tella as she placed food on the table and began to climb on top off Subaru gently touching him on his legs

But common people loved natsumi schwarz for they seen her as someone that clear out corrupt trash and even helping some less fortunate people and before long natsumi schwarz was known by locals and common folks as beautiful princesses of darkness that helps protect children from horrors such as slavers for she made it so really fast that slave trader of any kind where met by death

An it was happening what seemed like all over Lagunaca no matter where you run or hide if your a slave trader she will find you and kill you almost as if she knows where you going to be before even you do yourself

And she did almost crushed any and all slave traders in kingdom in less then a week because of this demi humans almost where worshiping her for she is the only one they can turn to if they had a problem with their missing family members captured by slaver for knight's never did much for non human people

That made knight's look pathetic as result something that a certain duchess's can't allow to happen

" Felix you are needed i need you to find out truth of this you will make your way to knight's headquarters and meet up with sword saint " said crush in serious manner at this Felix demeanour changed and he simply responded " understood " as Felix was leaving the room crush sit down at her table thinking

Did the witch free herself after so long did sage sacrificed him self to take her out too many questions and no answers and the timing can't be worse royal selection will soon start and if witch is free then that doesn't bide well for her plans

Felix soon meet up with Reinhardt and they made their way to matters domain to enlist aid from top magical user in kingdom Roswell

As they entered the mansion they where greeted but Subaru who was bit confused

" Hey Reinhardt what brings you here today " said Subaru in friendly manner

" Subaru it's nice to see you again but unfortunately i can't say why i am here it's important that i meet Roswell as fast as possible " said Reinhardt with a courtesy

" Oy rein stop with a courtesy no need that amongst friends " said Subaru as he casually slapped reins back this earned small warm smile come out off sword saint

" i understand Subaru " responded rein

" now Roswell should be in his studio probably scheming something nefarious follow me " said Subaru casually

This earned a chuckle from Reinhardt but then he said " you should be bad talking the lord off matters domain " said Reinhard as he begin to follow Subaru Felix hiding behind Reinhard followed as well looking curious towards Subaru

" I believe we haven't met but my name is Felix nice to meet you " he said pretending to be woman

" nice to see you as well Felix i take your a knight same as him " said Subaru as he pointed his thumb towards Reinhardt in casual manner

" You know i been meaning to ask do you get a lot off proposals from men or women considering your a man your self i must say they all women " at this Felix felt shocked that Subaru knows he's a man yet took few moments to compose himself and said " both" in cute way

" my name is Natsuki Subaru and i am a man off tricks nice to meet you" said Subaru in his trademark way something that earned a giggle from Felix and a small warm smile from rein

" And we are here " said Subaru as he casually opened the door to Roswell studio revealing Roswell sitting by his desk who looking at some papers

" oh my dear Subaru what's this about " said Roswell visibly annoyed by sudden intrusion

" they want to talk to you it seems important " said Subaru as he let sword saint walk in the room followed by Felix Roswell felt some sweet begin to form on his forehead did they found something that might put him in dangerous situation he thought to himself

Subaru was about to leave but was stopped by Roswell who insisted he stayed " but lord Roswell this matter is off utmost importance and must be handled with extreme care " said Reinhard " sorry Ross looks like i am not sufficiently important to learn off this so i am out " said Subaru as he yet again attempted to leave

"But my dear Subaru your insights can prove to be really useful regardless of situation at hand " said Roswell as he was closely looking at Subaru and thinking "is this his doing "

" if you insist Lord Roswell i am here to inform you that national security is at risk and we are to assess the potential danger to the nation " said rainhard with serious expression

This shock the clown " what has happened " he said dropping his accent and mannerisms

" Sages tower had been consumed by shadows and is now missing " said Reinhard with full seriousness only for Roswell to scream "Whaaaaat" hitting the table with his hands looking at sword saint with his eyes almost popping out off it's sockets

Subaru was maintaining stone expression but inside he was barely holding laughter in

" the sage council ordered every highly skilled magic user to go to the site and investigate i am here to assist in event that the witch had been freed " said Reinhardt with full courtesy

Roswell looked at Subaru as if asking "is this your doing " Subaru simply pointed toward himself as if saying "you seriously asking me that" then looked at swords saint and said " is there more joining or only us tree" he asked still bit shocked " only us tree are currently available on short notice " at this Roswell felt like he should have left for something random just to avoid being dragged into this mess almost as it's was planned to get him out or so he felt but nothing concrete he can say to let him stay he have to go and so he did

Just as they left Subaru closed the window and dropped his stone expression in favour of laughter for he was on the ground rolling around after some time he got off the ground and muttered to him self " now this should keep him from planning anything nefarious for a bit" said Subaru with a smirk as he left to inform maids

As this news reached Roswell it also reached his teacher who was looking at her seal monitoring equipment saying that seal is still intact she then looked at it again and it still says that the envy is still sealed echidona looked at her friends as said " sages tower is gone and i have no idea who or why did it" she said with stone cold expression this earned a bit off a stir from witches "is the seal" asked Minerva " she is still sealed but i don't know where " she responded this send a bit off a chill down everyone's spine "how fascinating " said Echidona with sparkling eyes looking back towards Roswells book attempting to find out what happened

Seeing that he doesn't need to hide himself too much now Subaru decided to loosen up a little for he knows ram will ignore anything she deems as bs and eventually she will forget to report back to Roswell as for other maids they don't carry his monitoring job unless ordered and Roswell had no time to order anything for he was bit preoccupied

And pretending that he got tired from messing with kids Subaru went to sleep sooner then normal he then left behind some bracelets that have miasma leaking from then locked the doors left decoy covered in blankets as if he is there and went off to mess with the nation a little bit more for there where few more tasks to do for him to take out remaining slavery rings expose few corrupt noble men and make knight's look like incompetent fools never rest for a wicked he murdered to himself

As investigation party where making their way to tower they where met with fleeting people going into all directions carrying news off towers disappearance

As much as authority's of all nations tried to control the situation in following months there where no stopping the mass panicked hordes of people as result in near future the travel restrictions of any kind where revoked between any nation and any hostilities where simply put on hold until the situation can be put back under control for all nations simply did not have man power to put out fires of small hostilities happening between travelling people everywhere at once at same time the information about anyone was being spread everywhere due to mass travel resulting into major corruption officials being exposed in all nations simply because people who knew off them where talking about them in different locations

A sheer amount of problems being exposed and made public knowledge where overwhelming for anyone to deal with and followed by the treat of a witch of envy herself being free people demanded changes to be made in all nations but that's in a future

Oblivious of the storm that's coming soon to hit a world the investigation team finally reached towers last know location and to their dismay the tower was indeed gone only a big massive crater was left behind

" Lord Roswell is there's anything you can tell us about this " said Reinhardt looking at Roswell who was simply staring at the crater

" i can tell it was a massive single spell but who made and how that i don't know only few people in the world have this sort off power that being divine dragon and the witch of envy herself how ever even working together they will not be able to pull something like this off " said Roswell as he was terrified about a creature capable of this

" You saying that divine dragon and the witch joined forces " asked Felix in disbelief

" No that's impossible what i am saying a sheer amount of mana needed to perform this be equal to them two working together and still falling short " said Roswell as he was still shaking his head for something like this is simple absurd

" Who or what is capable of something like this then" said Rainhardt as he too was looking at the massive crater in the ground

" Yin spells in general are mystery to me for the concepts of this branch of magic is something i just can't understand " said Roswell with a bit off sad expression

" Great spirit Beatrice who is now contracted to boy named Natsuki Subaru if you want to ask for further information on yin spells you need to ask her and to get to her you need to go through him " Said Roswell as he thinks that perhaps This is his handy work but then dismisses idea for a boy have no where near the mana requirements to feed Beatrice this much mana to pull this off and even if Beatrice used all mana reserves she collected over last 400 it was still short by a astronomical margins there's simply no way it's impossible for Beatrice to be one to pull this thing off

And as they hastily returned from their trip to tower in total it took them a two weeks a time Subaru spent really well for he was no longer under watchful eye of Roswell

And his Natsumi Swartz persona was relatively well known around the kingdom in trade circles as well as knight and criminal circles he also made certain equipment for his assassins to use to get out off danger in case it's needed what he calls "Emergency recall" a simple small bracelet designed and calibrated to cast al shamack on single person aimed straight to library for one time use as crystal simply brakes after use but is good get out off dodge tool

As well as develop few new spells and improve his reputations with the mansion residents further especially Emilia so yes Subaru was really active during Roswell's unplanned absence and he used every second off it

But all good things come to end as investigation party returned to mansion to ask for Beatrice

" Subaru if you be so kind can you call Beatrice for me " said Roswell in his sickening voice

" depends i will not bother beako over something stupid i prefer if she played little more with meiling or petra " said Subaru as he surged his shoulders

" Subaru we need to ask Beatrice about dimensions and what it is " said Reinhardt with a bit off curiosity

" Dimensions why do you need to know something so simple for ?" said Subaru with tilted head only to earn twitch from Roswell eyes as he don't like the way Subaru said it's simple

" But if you can't interact with another dimension as you call it how do you know it's there " he said with anger in his eyes

" There a ways to know but it will take me days to explain how you can reach this conclusion or there's other methods more hands on " said Subaru with a smirk

" A one way trip to other side or al shamack spell " said Subaru as he picked up a pen and pierced first and second peace off paper then pulled pen out from second paper illustrating the journey

" One way trip " asked rainhardt

" yes as alternative dimensions might not follow rules that govern this dimension as result you might not have a way back or you might end up no where just like in between dimensions there's simply no way off knowing unless you actually go there " answered Subaru like it's a simple thing

" A rules that might be different " asked Felix in questioning

" For example imagine a world where magic of any kind just don't exist nothing magical related at all " said Subaru as he was looking at trio who were struggling with a concept of it

" but how can a world like that exist " said Roswell as he looked at Subaru

" not much at all unfortunately as far as i can say there's no immediate danger from the witch for there's No reports about her whereabouts no destroyed villages no witnesses of a witch not a single person had actually seen anything even remotely witch like going anywhere nothing the only thing that's happened is tower just disappearing that's it " said rainhardt as he looked to the ground feeling like shit for unable to provide better answers

There he asked everyone who was available to help put that stuff where it belongs on top off the dragon for the cloth was a dragon size blanket , pillow and a sleeping hat

"Now with this old man can rest a little easier i hope " said Subaru as he was now looking at a dragon with a sleeping hat and the dragon himself actually looked somewhat happy about this as he snuggled up to the pillow

After seeing dragon sleep on glass like structure in the sky for so long Subaru couldn't help him self and wanted to assist the dragon in some way and this was his way of doing it

" Ok now i don't have to worry about old man he looks happy " said Subaru with a proud nod to himself and went to his workshop

" Say elsa how the supplies looking like " said Subaru to elsa who was making some dolls in the workshop

" We have all supply needed to last for good few moths and amount of requests to meet my boss right now is staggering but majority off those requests come from one person " said elsa as she was still making her doll

As result they where stuck in traffic jam for little more then 1 h and when they finally reached the inn if they where just nobody there was no way they get a room but reservations where placed way before they even left by Roswell so Subaru gang had nothing to worry about

And they went on their date around capital at this emilia end up enjoying her self she only wished that people would not treat her as walking calamity for her appearance few days gone by with Subaru and emilia messing inside capital and the day of announcement finally comes

Emilia wanted to leave Subaru behind but Subaru said he simply sneak in anyway and will be there regardless she like it or not emilia furious about this wanted Subaru to promise that he will not get in castle but Subaru said " i am needed there even more so then you " this spooked Emilia as she took a step back looked at Subaru with opened eyes

" I hold few titles that's make me needed there for royal selections beginning as the fifth candidate will be announced " he said in serious tone looking at Emilia

" What are you talking about Subaru " she said in a bit shaken voice

" You will see wen it all starts " said Subaru as he get up off the bed and begins walking towards exit off the room

" you want to come with me or you go alone your choice " said Subaru as he was leaving the room with emilia still inside it

Emilia not knowing what to do followed Subaru as he was making his way towards castle not saying a word afraid what it might happen is she spoken

" you want to ask don't you but are afraid " he approached the carriage with matters domain logos on it

" Your choice emilia take this carriage and go on your own or follow me and enter castle in style " said Subaru with a wide smile looking at the half-elf who was panicking unsure what to choose but she need to choose now and so she did she grabbed Subaru's hand

" I take this is your way of coming with me then " said Subaru looking at Emilia who nodded her head still holding his hand for dear life

" very well then come this way becko should be done with preparations " said Subaru as he walked towards a random door

And what followed was nothing anyone could predicted as Roswell was waiting for Emilia to come into the castle other candidates showed up but she was no where to be seen there was even felt presented and just at the right moment when Roswell was about to run out looking for this dolls whereabouts but there was an earthquake followed by a massive thud

Then a roof of the building got peeled off and dragon volcanica himself walked into the castle right into the middle off everyone and on top off his head there sit tree people Subaru Beatrice and Emilia who was still in shocked state unable to process of what's even happening dragon then simply lowered his head letting Subaru to jump off he then picked up Beatrice and placed her on the ground close to him and then he looked at emilia and said

" I PRESENT YOU ROYAL CANDIDATE TO THE THRONE EMILIA " said Subaru as he extended his hand towards dazed half-elf girl who grabbed it and landed on the ground then he gently lead her to rest off candidate and signalled volcanica to take its place behind sages council so he did

As volcanica was walking past sages council they where frozen in absolute submission for his share presence was overwhelming to them

As for Subaru himself he stood right next to Emilia who was still trying to process what happened

But it's was not just Emilia who was dazed everyone in castle was for they simply fallen to their knees at the sight of divine dragon

" well are you going to start this thing or what " said Subaru towards the dazed council of sages who slowly begin to regain their composure

They then did as instructed by Subaru and proceeded to do with the ceremony and all royal candidate's did their speeches and so did emilia but none dared to act out off turn or in any form of disrespect for Volcanica himself was present

But then one member of sages council asked " and if i might ask who are you " said the old man with a shaking voice looking at Subaru

" Oh about that My name is Natsuki Subaru spirit artist and currently i act as sage at your service " said Subaru as he did his introduction in knight's way

This prompted the stir in the audience as everyone looked at the boy some wanted do deny him but seeing him arrive on the dragon volcanica himself none dared

" if you are current sage might we know what happened to sage shaula " said council members

" oh correction shaula was never a sage she was sages assistant and she's probably running around capital having fun right about now " said Subaru like it's normal

" then if you are current sage you must know what happened to sages tower" said Felix looking at the boy

" sages tower had been moved for it's defence was way too lacking i mean i managed to infiltrate it with two children for crying out loud " said Subaru with annoyed expression

This made everyone's mouth opened wide " you must be joking " said julius first regaining his composure

" No i am not here is one child he pointed at Beatrice and another is ridding on shaula shoulders my adopted daughter Natsuki meiling " said Subaru with a smirk

Julius looked at Beatrice who then introduced herself for everyone " Betty's name is Beatrice great spirit of yin contracted to Natsuki Subaru and a keeper of fort off mysteries in fact " said loli spirit who had displeased expression

At this no one dared to question the boy for he have grate spirit contracted to him and he come in on a holy dragon for crying out loud

" Are we to assume that the seal to the witch is safe then " said rainhardt looking at Subaru

" it's safer now then it had been in last 400 years " said Subaru looking at rainhardt who then nodded " he is saying the truth "

This earned a collective sights of relief from everyone in the castle but then another question arose

" Why is sage supporting the half-elf like her " asked mikolow sages council member

( authors notes : i think his name was mikolow the prick that is real hater of demi-humans )

" i support who i want and have no reason to explain my self to any one same way as anyone else " said Subaru as a matter of a fact this earned mikolow to get bit frustrated

" Do you know who she is she is half-witch " at this volcanica slapped his tail right next to him and left a hole there

" are you saying you know better then him to chose her as candidate " said Subaru pointing towards dragon

" I did no such thing but supporting a half-witch like her will bring ruin to this nation " said mikolow bit frightened but undeterred

" Now for a record i can introduce you to a real witch if you want " said Subaru as he looked towards the man who was now losing colour in his face

" second if you're afraid demi-human war 2 then you should be voting for emilia because that will stop it from ever happening " said Subaru as a matter off a fact at this there was murmur in the castle and mikolow asked " can you share your wisdom sage " he said with gritted teeth

" simple the reason demi-human war started was due prejudices toward them from people like your self from their perspective they where fighting for a better tomorrow in where they don't need to suffer unjustly simply because they look different by casting your vote on a demi human you show your sincerity towards demi human that you don't want to fight and want to live and prosper together " said Subaru like it's the most obvious thing in the world

And it made sense to everyone but people who hate demi-human " but how can you live-" one noble was saying and got interrupted by Subaru

" and demi-human war number 2 will start as result of people like you Congratulations " said Subaru as he was clapping his hands in mocking manner looking at now silent nobleman

" but there's must be a good reason why somebody in your position will support her" now not daring to call her half-witch mikolow stated

" but why do i need to explain my reasons to you for ? " Subaru redirected questions back to him

He then shut up unable to come up with a proper reason

" Then sage we must ask what happened to royal family " said crush looking at Subaru hopping for answers

" family infighting for a power the one responsible for it had been dealt with by Emilia's camp here is hers gospel " said Subaru as he tossed half eaten gospel towards sages council crush not satisfied with it yet

" I am to believe she was witch cultists " said crush

" yes she was witch cultists sin archbishop representing lust cappella Emeralda Lagunaca i believe some off you had heard off her " said Subaru looking at old man Wilhelm who gripped his sleeves

At this revelation crush took few steps back and looked at dragon then back to Subaru " so the reason why divine dragon didn't saved royal family is because " crush was saying with a shaking voice

" because he can't interfere with family's fight for power if it doesn't endanger nation as a hole " said Subaru like it's matter of a fact at this everyone was shocked

" everybody are equal under a dragon after all royalty or demi-humans is no exception " said Subaru with serious voice

" Isn't this the holy rule of this nation can all of you say you still follow it? " said Subaru as he looked at everybody in the room

" thought so " he said with disappointment and shaking his head

" now let's see where this nation go to into anarchy or into military state or perhaps be in ruins in next few years or a decade or perhaps this nation will adopt democracy who knows" said Subaru with a shrug

"but if you choose to undermine or otherwise hamper her only because she is half-elf i will come after you with full authority of a sage this rule applying to all candidates not just emilia" said Subaru making a statement that shut everyone up

" you can call me the judge of this election if you wish for this is sages role to ensure that selection is fair but outside off this i am but just a person " said Subaru with a shrug

" will you ensure that election is fair and just " asked Reinhardt and crush at same time

" That is sages promise to you all " at this rainhardt and crush said " he is telling the truth " and everyone breath sight off a relief everyone but Roswell for he was gritting his teeth

And as the commotion come to it's conclusion Subaru signalled volcanica to take it's leave and returned back to his now massive bed with a warm food and barrels of alcohol waiting for him for this was the bribe Subaru used to get volcanica to play along

Post ceremony everyone wanted to talk to Subaru who just disappeared leaving the Emilia and Roswell to deal with the mess and because emilia was one Subaru supporting everybody went to her while they didn't asked what she will do as a ruler but more about the boy however it's a start even if they all had to get over their disdain for her looks and few hours later emilia and Roswell finally left the castle

Roswell said to bring Subaru to crush manor for discussions and he return back to his domain for damage control as the towers disappearance had created what he now calls a perfect storm

On the way to crush manor emilia encounter Subaru on the road holding his thumbs as if he is trying to stop a taxi upon seeing him Emilia promptly dragged him into the carriage

" Subaru you you you" emilia still with her emotions raging everywhere was pointing her finger towards a boy

" take a breath in and out in and out " said Subaru in calm manner signalling emilia to calm down

" Just say for how long are you sage " emilia looked at Subaru in questioning manner

" When a tower disappear that was the day i became sage" said Subaru with a chuckle

" what happened to the tower " she said almost screaming at him " it's placed somewhere safe i can even bring you there if you want but there's nothing much to see and well you might don't want to enter it " said Subaru with knowing look

" is it because" said emilia with her hand on her mouth stopping herself from saying

" No she is in the basement but tower it self is well troublesome " responded Subaru looking at Emilia who nodded

" so the month you where gone on your journey you become a sage in that time" she looked at Subaru with new eyes

" Yea i run off and become a sage among other things " said Subaru with a shrug

" what are those other things " she asked seriously

" Nothing much i did told you before though but did you listened or actually understood it well that's different story " said Subaru with a shrug

At this Emilia looked down being told she should had known if only she paid more attention and now that she thinks back on it he did mentioned that shaula been stuck in one place for bit too long and now she just wants to explore around as form off make up for lost time

" And you did told me but i just" emilia was now feeling like absolute shit

" You see right now this desire of yours to just run away from this is what's preventing puck from coming out " said Subaru as he pointed toward Emilia legs who where jumping up and down at rapid rate

Seeing her legs in this manner emilia grabbed hold off it and held it with her hands to stay still

" I am afraid of something then " she said as she looked at Subaru

" Yes you are afraid of something if i make a guess i can say it's something from your past then it's something to do with your appearance and lastly your afraid to ask questions for some reason " said Subaru counting on his fingers and looking at Emilia

" then what do i do " said scared and afraid half-elf as she rolled up into a ball still in carriage

" that's for you to decide how ever i can tell outcome of your actions " said Subaru looking at now ball emilia

" if You decided to run away outcome will be that nothing from your current situation will ever change and elf's you wish to free will remain frozen forever and when forced to wake up your mind will be broken and become unstable and with your powers that you possess you eventually will become a real witch " said Subaru looking at now crying half-elf who was sobbing

" how ever if you decide to stand up and face your flaws and your past with courage and strength of your own will you will become Stronger and you feel like you regained something that you where missing all this time and from that something you can move forward into the future with a head held height and potentially save your people " said Subaru looking at emilia who was staring at Subaru as he spoken

" Will this really save elf's in the forest " she asked

" This by it self will not but it's a small step towards that future but you can continue walking towards it until you reach it all you need is a small step and perhaps a pat on your back just like back in the village you and i went first time" said Subaru with a smirk

Then Emilia remembered that entire situation of how Subaru just pushed her into that mess and he pushed her because she needed to be pushed in there

" but what if i fail" she said with uncertainty

" then you stand up figure out why you failed and try again " said Subaru with a shrug

" you make it sound so easy " emilia looking at Subaru like he's never had anything to worry about ever for everything works out for him or so she thinks

" For every one off my achievements regards how big or small they might appear i failed about 3 to 10 times every single time and there where times when my failure cost life's of people i loved but i marched on and improved my self so i might not lose anyone important to me what you see is but end result off this journey how ever from where i started i was way behind where you are now " said Subaru looking at emilia with a serious expression

And emilia lowered her head and given a small nod

" You must be really strong " she said in resignation

" no i am not not by a long shot i had friends to take care off me and they where ones who made it possible for me to be where i am " said Subaru giggling to him self and at this emilia looked at him like he is making a joke

" stop joking around this is serious " said Emilia

" did you forget what i said about my jokes " responded Subaru with questionable look

At this emilia realised something " you joke about serious stuff so you can " said emilia as she covered her own mouth

" It's a coping mechanism for me to not be permanently depressed " said Subaru with serious expression

Emilia now beginning to understand how much actual pain he went through if he constantly jokes then " you are almost always sad " she said with her eyes tearing up

" not always i do joke normally as well because if i don't i will no longer know how to have fun or enjoy something and eventually i become permanently depressed " said Subaru with a shrug

Emilia now understanding Subaru little better could not help herself but hug him

" it's been hard haven't it " she said as if she trying to ease his pain

" you do realise that it's you who need a hug more not me right " said Subaru only now emilia giggled at absurdity of situation

And Subaru simply lifted half-elf and placed her on his chest as he laid down in carriage and then he hugged her as well " this way you and me get a hug heh " emilia nodded her head and just hid her head inside his chest never letting go off him With a few tears coming out off her eyes

And they just stayed like that for what felt like eternity as rem was purposely making circles around capital after noticing the hugging duo

" Rem bring us to inn we will delay the trip to crush manor for a day and send her a letter saying that there was some unfortunate accident on a trip and we got delayed for a day" said Subaru with a bit of lauder voice so she can hear it

Rem looked into carriage and said " but lord Roswell was insistent that we make trip to her today " said rem and Subaru responded " i am not taking her to see crush in this state if Roswell have problems with it he can talk to me " responded Subaru in serious manner with finally in his voice rem simply nodded her head

Emilia not saying anything for she just snuggled up into Subaru and he kept holding her

As carriage finally reached the inn emilia was now asleep and Subaru princess carried her back to her room and laid her to sleep yet emilia refused to let go off him and in half asleep manner she used her elven strength and just pulled him closer and wrapped herself around him with her arms and legs preventing him from leaving

" looks like i am stuck like this till she wakes up " said Subaru with resignation and just hugged her back and fallen a sleep himself

As emilia was sleeping she had a dream of the past and she seen her mother fortuna and father figure green haired man and at first it was pleasant dream but eventually it turned into a nightmare and she felt cold really really cold but a strange warmth was making it's way to her hart and giving her strength to fight the cold

she don't understand this warmth but is incredibly grateful to it and as the nightmare continued she seen everything of what happened that day at first she felt really sad for losing her mother figure but then she also felt really happy because she now remembered her same with all other people she left behind inside the forest this given her strength to move forward and save then

Even as she remembered the moment she frozen herself in her fight with that thing that attacked the forest she still felt this warmth and before long there was a crack and sound of shattering glass for her memories are now back for good

Yet emilia wished to stay for little bit longer as the warmth was soo smoothing and so pleasant so she tried to embrace it more but she couldn't as it was slowly drifting away so she chased after it and she caught it in her embrace as she did so she woken up form her sleep only to see sleeping Subaru right next to her for it was still a night

Emilia now understand that the warmth was actually Subaru body heat coming off him and that made her feel really nice inside

She then noticed her position and how much she wrapped herself around him at first she was panicking and embarrassed but refused to move a muscle for she might wake him up and as her panic slowly subsided she begin to appreciate her current situation as the warmth coming of Subaru was just so pleasant to her

And at same time her curiosity about the boy next to her was making her do things she would not be able to do if he was awake for it's to embarrassing

so she slowly and softly touched his cheeks she then slowly moved her hand over to his hair then on his shoulder then his arm then his back and before she realized on his ass and at this emilia removed her hand almost instantly feeling that she done something she should not have done but she refused to separate herself from him even if she was now blushing heavily breathing mess off a woman for his warmth was too pleasant for her to let go off

So she repeated the motion at same rate gently and slowly but Subaru hart rate slowly normalised and he stopped breathing deeply even if she continued the motion Emilia figured out soon that she is doing something wrong so she tried a little faster and it worked for his hart rate increased and he was back at breathing deeply yet slowly

but when she was moving it faster his clothes where getting in her way so she just pulled his pants down all the way to his knees

And now without obstructions she begin to move her hand in a motion speeding up little faster and faster as Subaru was making more and more noises that where really pleasant for Emilia to hear as she too felt a new sensation waking up in her but she just don't know what it is so she decided to ignore it for now

This continued for next 4 days Subaru rem shaula Beatrice and meiling where messing in capital and enjoying good time in the evening time Subaru go out in his Natsumi schwarz persona to do some "shopping" around the capital but not in the capital by night time he sleeps in the bed woth a Beatrice and rem sneaks in but sneaks out few moments later

Well you can ignore one passive because it's what you call lust Witch factor basic i believe everyone who had that witch factor had this passive as it's is ability to impregnate anything with a pulse

Like there's good reason to believe that all Demi-humans where originally born from animals who some lustful individual had a bit off fun with and ended up with entire race as Demi-humans that's not Camila btw for she was the one who made them Demi-humans into more human like

So based on this i leave Subaru's one passive to impregnate anything as a bit off a joke on the witch factor

But other passive and active are legit
