The Ulysses continues descending further down into depths as a school of fish swam nearby, and the submarine begins to approach an undersea canyon.

Inside it's hull, an elderly woman who was also in the Iceland expedition was at her station talking to someone through her headset. Named Wilhelmina Packard.

"So I says to him, "What's wrong with my meatloaf?". And he says to me... Oh." Packard said and a flash appeared on a lightbulb. "Hold on a second, Margie, I got another call." She flipped a switch and turns to Rourke. "Sir, we're approaching coordinates. Hello, Margie? Yeah, so anyways, he says..."

Close by, Milo enters the bridge and looks around at the 3-leveled bridge of the glass sphere.

"All right, let's have a look around." Rourke said.

"Aye, sir." Helga said. "Set course to 2-4-0. 15 degrees down angle on the bow planes. Come right 2-4-0."

"Depth is 3,400 feet, and hull tregrity is 100%." Koki said.

Milo soon made his way up to the bridge level.

"Welcome to the bridge, Mr. Thatch." Rourke said. "OK, everybody... I want you to give Mr. Thatch your undivided attention."

"Good afternoon." Milo greeted by a white board. "Can everyone hear me OK?"

Audrey chews on a piece of gum and blew a bubble as it then popped.

"Heh, OK, uh, how-how 'bout some slides?" Milo said by a projector.

Audrey and Vinny glanced to each other.

"The-The first slide is a depiction of a creature." Milo said holding a slide. "A creature so frightening that sailors were said to be driven mad by the mere sight of it."

He placed the slide into the projector, but shows an awkward photo of Milo in a swimsuit, swimming mask, and flippers, dinosaur floatie at the beach. And was holding a fishing rod with a hooked fish as his cat played around with it. And which earned a few laughs.

"Hubba, hubba." Packard said dryly.

Milo quickly removes the slide. "Uh, I'm sorry. That's... wrong." He said and looks through the slides.

"Geez, I used to take lunch money from guys like this." Audrey said in a Spanish accent.

"Anyway, this, uh... OK." Milo said finding the right slide and placed it in the projector. "This is an illustration of the Leviathan, the creature guarding the entrance to Atlantis." The projector showed an image of a large lobster-like creature attacking and destroying an old ship.

"With something like that I would have white wine, I think." Vinny said.

"Uh... that's scary." Jimmy nervously said.

"Jimmy, it's just a picture." Chris said.

"It's a mythical sea serpent." Milo said. "He's described in the Book of Job. The-The Bible says "Out of his mouth go burning lights sparks of fire shoot out". But more likely it's a carving or a sculpture to frighten the superstitious."

"How does one carve a sculpture at the ocean floor?" Aviva wondered.

"I don't know." Martin shrugged.

"So we this masterpiece." Rourke said. "Then what?"

"When do we dig?" Mole excited asked appearing in front of him and Helga.

"Actually, we don't have to dig." Milo said turning the projector off and holding a black chalk. "You see, according to the Journal, the path to Atlantis will take us down a tunnel at the bottom of the ocean, and we'll come up to a curve into an air pocket right here." He drew the ocean surface and a curved tunnel and small Ulysses and air pocket. "Where we'll find remnants of an ancient highway that will leads us to Atlantis." He drew a pathway and an A. "Kinda like the grease trap in your sink."

"Cartographer, linguist, plumber." Helga said holding her firearm in her right hand. "Hard to believe he's still single."

"You said there'd be digging." Mole said pulling on the sleeve of her black sweater.

"Go away, Mole." Helga said.

"Captain, you'd better come look at this, sir." A sailormen said at the steering wheel.

"OK, class dismissed." Rourke said heading up. "Give me exterior lights."

The Ulysses continues descending through the dark water as 2 lights turned on.

But then everyone was in for a shock.

The lights shined around as they saw a vast graveyard of countless ships and boats littering across the seabed.

"Whoa." Chris said speechless.

"Look at that." Helga said.

"There are ships here from every era." Milo said.

"But, what could've caused them to all sink in this area?" Martin wondered.

The Ulysses glides through the water as the exterior lights flashed around shining on the seabed. Suddenly, movement occurred on the seabed as something big moves off.

The Ulysses glides through the water as in the dark water below, something big moves just below it as it made a howling sound as it moves through the towers of rocks.

At her station, Packard placed a used cigarette in a cup as beeping occurred in her monitor as the cigarette hissed. She flipped a switch as then radio static occurred as Packard heard something unusually, and listened as she tries to work it out.

"Commander, I think you should hear this." Packard said turning to Rourke.

"'Predeshtem logtu nug... nah geb'." Milo read a section in the Shepherd's Journal.

"Commander? Commander?" Packard said.

"Okay, that translates to...?" Aviva asked.

"'Enter the lair of the Leviathan'." Milo translated.

"Commander?" Packard said.

"'There you will find the path to the gateway'." Milo finished.

"Commander?" Packard said.

"Yes, Mrs. Packard." Rourke said. "What is it?"

"I'm picking up something on the hydrophone, I think you should hear it." Packard said.

"Put it on speakers." Rourke said.

Packard flipped a switched, and then instantly a strange howling groaning and whooshing echoes through the sub as everyone fell silent and listened.

Outside, the Ulysses continues on as hidden behind the rock columns, something big swims by watching the sub.

"What is it?" Rourke asked. "A pod of whales?"

"Doesn't sound like any whale I ever heard." Chris said. "Sperm Whales can dive deep, but that can't be one."

"Uh-huh. Bigger." Packard said.

"It sounds metallic." Helga said. "Could be an echo off one of the rocks."

"Do you wanna do my job?" Packard said. "Be my guest."

"She was only suggesting." Aviva said.

"Is it just me, or is that getting louder?" Milo wondered.

The howling sound continues as it soon fades away to silence.

"Well, whatever it was, it's gone." Helga said breaking to moment of silence.

Martin then looked outside to see if anything was out there.

"See anything?" Chris asked.

"Nothing." Martin said. "It's too dark."

"Helmsman! Bring us about." Rourke said to the helmsman. "Tighten our search pattern and slow us to-"

Suddenly there was a massive crash as if the submarine was struck by a mega-sized freight train as everyone was knocked off their feet.

The Ulysses was thrown back as a giant sea monster rams the sub head-on as the exterior lights flickered out, and the monster swims by the submarine.

Inside the hull, 2 sailormen held on as the alarm bell rang and alarm lights flashed red as Audrey ran through the hall.

"Out of the way!" Audrey said running pass them.

Audrey quickly rushed to the open doorway to the boiler room.

The Ulysses sinks as a giant lobster-like creature shaped like an Eurypterid came out from the darkness roaring.

And then it slams it's massive left pincer claw against the side of the submarine.

Inside, Audrey quickly made it to the boiler room as she got to a platform as crew members quickly ran as water started to flood as Audrey looked down.

"Everyone out of the boiler rooms now!" Aviva called through a speaker pipe.

"Tell Cookie to melt the butter and break out the bibs." Rourke said to Helga as the monster was seen nearby. "I want this lobster served up on a silver platter."

"It's coming back!" Chris yelled.

"Load the torpedo bays!" Helga ordered. "Subpod crews, battle stations!"

"Brace!" Martin yelled.

The sub was then struck again as they were knocked off their feet.

In the Ulysses' underside, crew members quickly rushed to the Subpods.

"Battle stations!"

Vinny and Mole quickly got into one, and the other Subpod crews got ready.

"Steady, boys." Rourke said through an intercom. "Don't panic."

The Ulysses sank as then the monster's smaller claw snatches the sub by it's tail.

And then it's other claw grabs the sub as Milo was then tossed off his feet and fell and hits the side of the glass sphere.

He soon recovers and turns and saw the creature's eye, but the first he saw was that the eye was actually mechanical.

"Jiminy Christmas!" Milo exclaimed as the eye retracted. "It's a machine!"

The Leviathan stares at the Ulysses almost as if it's examining it and trying to work out what it was.

In the boiler room, the alarm bell continues ringing as Audrey quickly rushed over to the value, and starts turning it to close the watertight door.

And then 3 crew members quickly appeared running to the doorway as water was rushing in behind them.

"Wait! Wait!" They yelled. "Uhh!"

2 of them made it through as the second made a jump for it as the door was lowered down and closed.

"Launched subpods!" Rourke ordered.

"Subpods away!"

At the Ulysses' underside, 22 12 foot long sudpods launched out from values as one made a sharp turn to avoid the Leviathan's claw.

The subpods rushed off and quickly pulled up and flipped over rushing back towards the Leviathan.

"Fire!" Rourke called through the radio.

The subpods then fired torpedoes as they soared through the water, and they struck the Leviathan's armored back as it turns to the faster subs and releases the Ulysses.

"We're free." Rourke said. "All ahead full."

The Leviathan turns away as the Ulysses quickly heads off.

The subpods rushed around as the Leviathan manages to crush one in it's claw as it explodes. And then manages to crush another subpod.

"Fire torpedoes!" Rourke ordered.

"Fire torpedoes!"

Near Ulysses' tail, 2 turrets rotated each with 2 men turning values. And then they fired 4 torpedoes as they soared through the water towards the Leviathan.

The Leviathan chased after the subpods as the torpedoes struck it's back.

Inside one of the rooms, an African American cook was busy unpeeling potatoes.

"Man your battle stations."

"Heck's going on out there?" He said.

The Leviathan turns to the Ulysses, and then bright blue lines lit on it's shell, and then fires a powerful electric beam.

And the beam struck side of the sub.

Inside, the blast went through the hull as 3 sailormen ducked as the brightness was enough to flash and their skeletons were shown from the light.

In one of the armory rooms, a bomb was accidentally knocked loose and then fell.

It then punctured through the floor, and crashed behind the cook as he quickly got up.

The bomb broke through a number room as some men were caught by surprise.

The bomb broke through 2 more rooms, and then finally broke through the ceiling into a lower magazine room as some other weapons were knocked down.

The cook bewildered looked down through the hole.

"All hands man your battle stations!"

"What the heck was that?" A man called as the cook looked up.

The group of men looked down from the hole.

"It's a bomb!" A man said.

They then quickly begin to flee out of the room.

"Go, go, go, go, go!" A man yelled.

The cook then nervously looked back down.

In the magazine room, the bomb sat still as it's rotor has been accidentally activated as it was in the worse possible place.

"Son of a..." The cook quivered.

In the boiler room, a rivet shots out of it's slot as Audrey finished closing the last watertight door.

And soon, more rivets started flying around as she quickly grabs a shovel, and used it to shield her face as she rushed across the room. And quickly got to the ladder and climbs up.

"Get me the bridge!" Audrey said.

A sailormen closed the hatch to the boiler room.

"Sir, it's engineering on 4." Packard said reading a newspaper.

Rourke then answered a pipe.

"Rourke!" Audrey called through the intercom. "We took a big hit down here-"

"-and we're taking on water fast." Audrey said. "I don't wanna be around when it hits the boilers."

"How much time do we have?" Rourke asked.

"20 minutes, if the bulkhead holds." Audrey said.

Then suddenly, a clang was heard with rushing water as Audrey turns to it.

"You better make that 5." Audrey stated.

"You heard the lady." Rourke said. "Let's move!"

"Go, go, go, go!" Chris yelled quickly rushing off.

"Move! Where?" Milo said as a crew member got him moving. "Move where?"

"Packard, sound the alarm?" Helga said.

"He took his suitcase?" Packard said busy talking to someone through her headset. "Marge, honey, I don't think he's comin' back."

"PACKARD!" Helga yelled.

"Packard, we gotta go!" Koki said running off. "Now!"

"I have to call you back." Packard said. "No, no, I'll call you." She put her cigarette out.

Milo ran through the hall placing his jacket on as an alarm sounded as he followed Audrey.

"All hands, abandon ship." Packard said.

"Move it, people!" Helga said as they quickly climbed into an Aqua-Evac. "Sometime today would be nice!"

"That's everyone!" Martin yelled. "Let's go!"

Milo, Audrey, Sweet, Chris, Martin, Aviva, Koki and Jimmy quickly rushed to the seat as Helga was behind them.

"Come on!" Helga said as they sat down. "Everybody grab a seat and buckle in."

"Lieutenant, get us out of here!" Rourke said as Helga got to the passenger seat.

The Ulysses started to sink, and the Leviathan let out a screech as it soon saw the submarine.

Inside, Helga was having trouble pushing a lever.

"Lieutenant!" Rourke yelled.

"I'm working on it!" Helga said.

The Leviathan swims towards the Ulysses as it roars out, and then wires on it's face fused together as they fired an electric blast. And it struck the Ulysses and blasted completely through the sub.

Helga then quickly kicks the lever, and then 2 panels exploded from the sub's back.

"Hang on." Helga said as they rushed forward.

The 3 Aqua-Evacs quickly flee from the sub as a fourth Aqua-Evac rushed out as the lights from the Ulysses flickered and went out. And then it exploded as it rips in 2, and then suddenly the front half of the Ulysses bends upwards as the loose bomb went off, and the explosion from the bomb and other weapons in the room combined released a massive explosion as it took out the close by Aqua-Evac.

Soon, the Leviathan came charging through the debris cloud as it chased after the crew.

The Aqua-Evacs rushed through the water along with the remaining subpods as parts of the Ulysses flew by. And a piece of it's armor hits the back of the Aqua-Evac where Milo and the others are in.

"Where to, Mr. Thatch?" Rourke asked.

"We're looking for a big crevice of some kind." Milo said looking through the Journal.

Rourke soon spotted a trench ahead of them.

"There!" Rourke said spotting it. "Up ahead."

"All craft, make your mark 20 degrees down angle." Helga called out to the surviving crew members.

"Roger!" A crew member said. "20 degrees down angle."

"Right behind you!" Mole said.

The Aqua-Evacs and subpods quickly rushed towards the trench with the Leviathan in hot pursuit behind them. And then it lunges forward and crushed an Aqua-Evac at the back of the group.

"Sacre bleu!" Mole exclaimed in French as his and Vinny's subpod were barely missed.

"We're getting killed out here!" A subpod pilot yelled.

The Leviathan chased after them as it's left arm hits the side of a sea-cliff as the subpods and Aqua-Evacs quickly dove down into the trench.

The Leviathan breaks trough the gap, but the narrow trench made it too big to follow them as it tries to snatch them with it's claws. And then it fires a blast at a subpod trying to regain control.

It fires another blast near another subpod as it turns avoiding it. But the subpod then hits the side of one of the Aqua-Evacs as it's engine was taken out and then exploded as the Aqua-Evac suddenly lost control.

"Look out!" A man yelled.

The Aqua-Evac lost complete control as it hits the rock of a tunnel, and then explodes as the remaining Aqua-Evac and subpod dove down into the tunnel.

"It's only a grease trap. It's just like a sink." Milo said trying to remain calm. "It's only a grease trap. It's just a SINK!"

The Aqua-Evac and subpod dove further down into the tunnel as the electric blasts from the Leviathan continue hitting the rock trying to get them. Soon, they managed to reach a bend as they started to head upward. The tunnel got somewhat narrow as Helga tries to avoid hitting the sides, and a few rocks hit the windshield of Mole and Vinny's subpod as the glass cracked as they soon entered a large underwater cavern and headed up as above was what looked like surface water.

Everything was dark, and then the Aqua-Evac and subpod erupts out of the water like whales surfacing for air.

Soon, Vinny and Mole opened the hatch and climbed out as Helga and Rourke climbed out of the Aqua-Evac as she turned a light on and looked around.

They that they were in a large cavern, and the light soon shines on a carving of a creature's mouth with other carvings close by.

As they have found the beginning of the path to Atlantis.

But not without a sacrifice.

Author's Note:

Shame that the Ulysses didn't had a longer role in the film. Now, that loose bomb, sound familiar to you? After seeing a deleted scene of the crew getting attacked by Squid-Bats, a crew member tried to use a grenade to take one of them. But was accidentally knocked out of his hand and fell into a magazine room. And them, BOOM, the Ulysses was taken out.

I believe that was a reference to the explosion of the USS Arizona during the attack of Pearl Harbor. Which was it's 60th anniversary at the time.

So, I decided to do something similar but more base from the Arizona's explosion from Michael Bay's film, Pearl Harbor. As a 20th anniversary reference since both Pearl Harbor and Atlantis: The Lost Empire were nearly a month apart.

And I got something crazy to say, an African Zebra Cobra escaped from a house in a neighborhood in Raleigh. But it was caught Wednesday at 8:45 P.M. I live just 30 minutes from Raleigh, but it would be crazy if it got near my place somehow. It was caught by a glue trap and right now, in a place where the rest of the glue will be removed from it's scales.

Now, everyone think it's odd how 2 Coelacanths were shown when in reality, they weren't rediscovered at 1914, until 24 years later in 1938.

And last thing, think it could be possible for the Ulysses submarine to actually be built in real life?

And last thing, this is a 1914 version of the Wild Kratts, in early 20th Century clothing. They didn't time travel.
