Hazel Marie and Kakashi adjusted quickly to life with Iris, Atlas, Athena, and Argo. The spare room had been turned into the nursery though only one crib was in there for now. Hazel Marie opted to stay with the cloth diapers and Iris now had clothes that fit. Iris was gaining weight steadily as they had kept up with feedings every three hours. Team Kakashi had returned two weeks later then Tsunade send them back out with Kakashi on another mission.
Her baby bump had grown now making her feel like she was four months along and her bump reached her ribs so Iris was strapped to her back using a Moby wrap when leaving the house and made sure her hair was pulled up. Returning to teaching wasn't too much of an adjustment and she would let Iris crawl around the classroom with her three ninken who made sure she stayed safe. Kurenai came back to teaching as well, Mirai strapped to her chest and it added entertainment to the two classrooms.
As far as wedding plans were going, they had seen Fuu before Kakashi went on his mission so he could get measured. Kurenai, Shizune, and Hinata came with her for their dress fittings though they had chosen to wear kimonos, as did the groomsmen. With her growing abdomen, the design she had chosen didn't add any complications to her dress fittings which was good.
"Haze?" Shizune called from down the street and she looked up from where she was looking at toys to entertain Iris who was asleep, strapped to her back. "She certainly was tired, wasn't she?"
"Yeah," she grinned as she glanced over her shoulder to see her blue hair.
"Team Kakashi is back. We have new information about her."
"I see," she felt her smile fade some and took a breath to follow the woman through the streets to the Hokage tower with Atlas at her side while the other two were back at the sanctuary.
Climbing up the stairs if Shizune knocked on the door to Tsunade's office twice before they entered. Naruto was sitting on the floor, turned her way and pouting with a growing bump on his head, Sakura was beside him with her fist clenched, and Sai had his nose in his book. Kakashi turned where he stood in between them and his eyes widened as they fell to her stomach.
"Welcome home," she smiled as she walked over to him and he kissed her brow before glancing at the sleeping baby on her back.
"Haze," Tsunade spoke and she looked over at her, seeing a man who looked to be in his late sixties sitting on the couch, wearing traditional clothing and a white beard that went to his chest. The man got to his feet with the help of his cane before hobbling towards her. "This is Fumihisa Ito. River's grandfather."
"Oh... hi," Hazel Marie spoke, shaking the man's wrinkled hand.
"I hear you have been doing well in caring for her," Fumihisa spoke, his voice deep.
"Yes sir," she nodded, turning so he could see the sleeping baby though her heart felt heavy.
"I live on the mainland and when the village had been attacked, despair had filled me when I thought it meant everyone had been killed. So when I heard this man asking around, we cried knowing that she is safe and healthy," he sighed, reaching out to touch her curly hair.
"What will happen now?" Hazel Marie asked, glancing at Tsunade who's expression was unreadable.
"Kona and I are too old to be able to properly care for a nine month old baby and it is obvious that she found the perfect family," Fumihisa smiled and she looked at him surprised. "All we ask is to be apart of her life so she can know who her parents were and where she came from."
"He brought her birth certificate..."
"Give me a moment," Hazel Marie whispered, feeling lightheaded as surprise filled her and Kakashi grabbed her forearms to keep her steady. "So... Iris... River can stay...?"
"I have legal adoption papers right here," Tsunade spoke gently and Hazel Marie felt a few tears escape as she took a shaky breath. "That is if you are okay with that?"
"Y-yes," she smiled.
"So Iris was the name you called her?" Fumihisa asked and she nodded, feeling his hand on her shoulder. "It is a beautiful name. How about we compromise, River Iris?"
"We don't need to compromise," she chuckled as she looked at the man. "She was given a beautiful name, no need to change it to one that's been used for a a few weeks."
"Thank you. Shall we sign some annoying documents that will tie her to your soon to be growing family?"
"Okay."
Feeling Kakashi's arm wrap around her under River, they walked over to Tsunade's desk where she spread out two files. Fumihisa signed everything first, then Hazel Marie, then Kakashi before feeling movement at her back. Noticing this, Kakashi soon pulled the waking baby out of her nestled sling as Hazel Marie was given one of the files for her own records.
"Oh River, look at you," Fumihisa gasped and the blue haired baby squealed excitedly as she instantly responded. Kakashi held her out to the elderly man who took her, wrapping his arms around her as her small stubby grabbed his face. "Such a happy baby. Do you love your new mommy already? Yeah...? Looks like you'll get a new sibling soon too.."
"Two siblings," Hazel Marie spoke softly as River was babbling away at her grandfather.
"Twins...?!" he gasped and she nodded. "That is a rare occurrence."
"Lucky, I guess."
"And a beautiful dog too? You're all set, River. You'll never be bored, will you?"
"Eleven dogs if we summon all our ninken," Kakashi spoke.
"Will she become a shinobi like you?"
"If that is something that sparked her interest."
"I'm glad people like you found her. Hearing what you had found and how you found her, I worried about her recovery but she seems to not even remember what happened."
"Is Kona your wife?" Hazel Marie asked as River looked at her and pulled her into her arms as she reached out.
"Yes. We will probably plan to move closer so we can visit her more frequently."
"I would love that."
"Have your parents met River?"
"Um... no," Hazel Marie frowned.
"Both of our parents died when we were young," Kakashi spoke simply.
"So your babies won't have...? Oh that will not do, we will make sure to be there for them just as much. We are family now, right?" Fumihisa asked, his arms opening. Hazel Marie went to him as a quiet sob escaped her while his arms wrapped around both her and River as she held her.
"So now you officially have a kid," Naruto cheered and Hazel Marie laughed as she had forgotten that Team Kakashi was still there.
"So exciting," Sakura cheered as she pulled away from the old man.
"What assistance would you need and how long to help you settle anything to move?" Tsunade inquired.
"If I had a team like this, it would possibly only take a week but the time to transport our possessions..."
"Haze has created a lot of new ideas so we have storage scrolls designed for moving purposes. Moving furniture, bags, supplies, food could be condensed down to a few scrolls in a bag," Shizune spoke.
"You can't take Naruto or Sakura, Fuu needs them for finally fittings," Hazel Marie spoke as the wedding was planned to be in ten days.
"I will send Team Gai otherwise you will yell at me for making Kakashi late to your own wedding."
"You two are not married yet?" Fumihisa asked. "Talk about moving fast, but you shinobi are always rushing."
"Sai, if you would go find Might Gai, the rest of you are dismissed. Fumihisa, we do have some available housing around the village..." Tsunade's voice got quieter as Hazel Marie headed out of the office with Team Kakashi and took a breath of relief as she held River on her hip.
"That is not how I thought that would go," she admitted once they left the Hokage tower and Sai ran off.
"I will admit that I was uncertain of how things would go when we met him," Kakashi spoke as he wrapped his arm around her waist.
"I have a question," Naruto asked, his arms behind his head as he walked beside Kakashi. "I keep hearing that we're in pairs for some reason or another. It's obvious that Asuma and Kurenai are going together, I heard that Yamato and Shizune were dating so they would go, but what about Sakura, Iruka, and I?"
"Sakura will be lined up with Iruka since their friends and you will be with Hinata Hyuga," Hazel Marie spoke mischievously, seeing him stumble and almost fall.
"H-Hinata...?!" He stammered, his face crimson. "W-Wha... why...?"
"She's a sweet girl. Shy, but when she gets talking about her passions, she gets all sorts of fired up," she mused. "Will that be a problem?"
"N-no..."
"Good."
"Haze!" Glancing over she saw Kurenai coming towards them with Asuma who was holding Mirai. "Goodness, I swear your belly is getting bigger every day. Your poor back."
"How are you guys today?" Hazel Marie asked.
"Mirai slept all night for the first time last night," Kurenai smiled. "How's Iris?"
"Kakashi found her grandparents, her given name is River."
"Uh-oh... what's going to happen?"
"We were given full custody of River and they're working to be able to move closer," Kakashi spoke.
"Oh my goodness, I'm so happy for you...! Well I mean it's sad that it had to happen, but..."
"I'm grateful," she smiled as River started babbling and glanced down to see her chewing on her fingers. "We should get to Fuu's so I can feed her."
"Finally fittings for you as well?" Asuma asked.
"I think it's everyone's final fit other than mine due to the uncertainty of how quick the twins are growing."
"It's still crazy to think there's two in you, shortie," Naruto snorted.
"It won't stop me from beating your ass or just stop cooking for you."
"Now that's not fair!"
"I may be short but no name calling," she snorted as they reached the clothing shop and walked inside. "Fuu, we're here!"
"Oh my favorite client," Fuu came into view and snatched River out of her arms. "Are you standing yet, little flower?"
"She's trying," Hazel Marie mused as the seamstress ignored them all as they followed her into the back. "We found out her name is River and her grandparents let us fully adopt her."
"So exciting," Fuu gushed. "Each of your outfits are in their own bags and labeled.
Kurenai eased Mirai into the sling she still had on and helped her shift it so Mirai was curled against her chest with her feet under her left arm before following after the other four to find their dress bags and wandered off to different dress rooms. Hazel summoned a black scroll for baby supplies so she didn't have to carry around a diaper bag, removing a clean cloth diaper, pad, and wipes. Fuu took them and began to change the happy baby she had taken too as she summoned a blue scroll she had strictly for milk and summoned two pouches before removing a bottle from the black scroll and prepared a bottle.
"Did you schedule the final fittings at opposite times on purpose so the other couples didn't see each other's outfits?" Hazel Marie asked as she traded Fuu the bottle for the dirtied diaper and wipes and sealed them and the two scrolls away as Fuu began to feed River.
"I can't let them ruin all the fun," Fuu grinned.
"I need help," she heard Naruto call and chuckled.
Taking River from Fuu and propped her on her hip opposite of Mirai, the bluette held her own bottle as Fuu wandered over to where he was. She could hear the seamstress calmly talking him through the different pieces, answering questions the hyperactive blond asked. Asuma was the first to come out, in a white embroidered navy blue traditional top with black bottoms. Kurenai was next, her kimono a eggplant purple with silver flowers and a black obi around her waist. Sakura then came out, her kimono a few shades lighter while the sliver flowers had hues of blue and her obi was white. Then Fuu reappeared with Naruto who's top was the inverse of Asuma's.
"He just needs to tame that hair," Fuu grinned.
"There is no taming it without buzzing it, I've tried," Hazel Marie laughed.
"I'm still not sure why I can't see yours when you can see mine," she heard Kakashi and turned to look at him and froze.
"It's bad luck to see your future bride in her dress before the wedding," she heard Fuu comment.
The silvery white jacket and dress pants went beautifully with the blue embroidered vest and tie against the black dress shirt. He had taken off his forehead protector and both of his eyes were open as his hair looked like he had tried to comb it back with his fingers. She found herself bitting the inside of her lip as he walked towards her and kissed her, a teasing look in his eyes as she struggled to think.
"And help her get over her shock," Kurenai chuckled before Hazel Marie had to look away as River finished her bottle and she sealed it away to be cleaned when she got home. "Those seals are becoming more useful the more I see you use them."
"It lets me not have to worry about carrying anything," Hazel Marie shrugged as she tried to silently calm the heat of her body from seeing Kakashi dressed like that.
"Does it pull awkwardly when you move or feel too loose?" Fuu asked, already having checked the other four though with theirs being traditional, they most likely wouldn't need any adjustments and came to circle him.
"Not that I can tell."
"Kakashi-sensei, it looks so weird to see you dressed like this," Naruto frowned.
"It's a good look for him," Asuma grinned.
"Haze, can I talk to you for a moment?" Kurenai asked and she nodded, letting the woman pull her to the far side of the room before grinning. "Do you need a babysitter?"
"Maybe," she breathed, her eyes focusing back on Kakashi, his mismatched eyes locked onto hers and she saw his smirk through the mask as if he knew what he was doing to her.
"I have to say, seeing him like this is making me struggle to keep clean thoughts about him."
"Mhm," she whined as she forced herself to look away from him and back at Kurenai.
"River is comfortable with us so it would not be any problem to watch her for the afternoon or even the night if you need it. It's been... what, a month since you found River? Believe me, I understand what you are going through personally."
"I don't want to use you as a babysitter so I can get some hot sex..."
"Haze, take the offer," Kurenai grinned.
"Okay," she whispered, feeing Mirai wiggle around and glanced down to see her sound asleep. "Let me know when I can repay this kind of favor."
"Oh absolutely."
"Kurenai, you can go change," Fuu called and Kurenai gave her a knowing grin before walking off.
"Are you good?" She heard Kakashi from behind her and flinched in surprise as she felt him press his face to her neck.
"Y-yeah..." she whispered and he pulled back, marking her turn to face him.
"What were you discussing with Kurenai?"
"That's a secret. Now, go change," she grinned.
"I almost don't want to, seeing that look in your eyes..."
"Go."
"Still not fair that I'm not allowed to see your dress," he mused before kissing her deeply through the mask, making her whimper before he pulled back and walked off.
"Definitely a good call to have him in a suit," Fuu grinned as she came over and took River once more. "I never realized how tone that ass was under his usual clothes."
"Fuck..." she whispered under her breath.
"Do I need to watch the little flower?"
"No, Kurenai is going to watch her."
"Sounds good."
Twenty minutes later, everyone was changed and Hazel Marie carefully lifted the sling from over her head, helping Kurenai put it on as she cradled the sleeping Mirai. Removing the blue and black seals, she handed them over to Kurenai who slid them into the sling beside Mirai. Seeing Kakashi's brow raise, she ignored him as she took River back from Fuu and they all left the shop.
"Be good for Auntie Nai," Hazel Marie murmured to River before handing her off to a grinning Asuma.
"Haze...?" Kakashi growled low as she took his hand and began pulling him away.
"What?" She asked innocently as she pulled up with her up to jump across the roofs.
"What have you planned?"
"Many things," she grinned.
"So you asked Kurenai to watch River?"
"She offered and pretty much refused to let me say no. Altas, return to sanctuary," she shrugged and he grinned, pulling her into his arms to make their trip back home faster.
