"Well what is it?" Iris questioned anxiously, all eyes in the room were focused on Wells who had just entered the room,

"Well I was analysing some of Barry's blood and I noticed some abnormalities, they were pretty much unnoticeable, which would explain why you didn't find anything Caitlin," Wells told her, "I saw something similar on my earth, his blood had been infiltrated my a small parasite, that is attacking his system. It would give any normal human awful cold like symptoms for a couple weeks, but it seems to effect a meta-humans' powers." Wells said thoughtfully,

"So how did Barry get this parasite?" Joe questioned,

"I was curious about that to but then I remembered the meta Barry thought with a few days ago, he was from earth two and was able to shoot energy from his body remember," Wells answered, a look of realisation dawned on both Cisco's and Caitlin's faces,

"He must have been carrying the parasite in his body and when he shot Barry with that energy blast, particles of that parasite entered Barry and infested his blood stream," Caitlin said, rushing over to her microscope.

"So how to we cure him?" Joe asked,

"Normally, you would have to wait it out, like your average cold, but sometimes people developed worse symptoms and antibiotics would have to be administered. Though I don't believe that would work on Mr Allen here, as his speed healing would burn right through them." Wells answered.

"Well I can't just wait his out," Barry said a tone of panic coming through his voice, "I've already hurt people and even though Cisco's extra strong meta-cuffs are working at the moment I doubt they will survive a couple of weeks," Barry continued, his eyes darting around the room nervously.

"I know, that's why I'm requesting Cisco and Caitlin's help on working on a cure, I have the antibiotics that are used on my earth and together I was thinking we could work something out," Wells told him. Instantly Cisco moved from where he was sitting and went over to where Wells was standing. Caitlin was quick to join them and all three of them left the room after giving Barry some quick reassurances that they would do everything they could to find a cure for this thing.

"You guys should go home," Barry said to Joe and Iris, they had been sitting with in for a while after Cisco and Caitlin had left the room with Wells. "Go home and get some rest, maybe get a shower and a change of clothes, I may be here a while and I've got the rest if the team I'll be fine." Barry attempted to reassure them, but they didn't look to sure.

"I don't know Barr, I wouldn't want to leave you alone," Joe said looking a little nervous,

"I'll be fine I promise," Barry tried to reassure them again.

"You go home dad, you were hurt and you should get some rest," Iris said trying to encourage him to go home, "I'll let you know if anything changes and then you can come back in the morning and I will go home and get some rest." Iris told him; Joe seemed to consider this for a moment.

"Okay, but I will be back first thing in the morning," he said firmly. Both Barry and Iris nodded, indicating that they had heard what he said, as he was leaving the room Barry called out,

"Don't forget to let Caitlin check your burns before you go, otherwise she will kill you," it was said jokingly but they all knew that if Caitlin's looks could kill they would be dead if they didn't follow her medical instructions.

"Yeah good call, I would like to see you guys again," Joe joked and the three of them chuckled as Joe left the room with a wave, going to find Caitlin and then head home for the night so he could sleep in an actual bed. A luxury the rest of team flash wouldn't have that night.

Down in Cisco's lab the rest of team flash was hard at work. Caitlin was analysing all of Barry's blood samples again and running them through different programmes that Cisco was inventing as fast as he could. Wells was studying the antibiotics he had trying to work out a way to make them effective for Barry. "Okay, I have tweaked the formula a little bit, I think this could work," Wells informed the other scientists. Caitlin instantly rushed off to get a fresh sample of blood from the speedster, as Cisco helped get the new and improved antibiotics into a syringe that would be able to administer them. When Caitlin returned three minutes later, they watched with bated breath, under the microscope, to see if the new formula was effective.

"It's doing it!" Cisco whispered out excitedly, when he saw the parasites being attacked, but then they seemed to get stronger and they absorbed the antibiotics and making larger and more aggressive attacking Barry's red blood cells and killing them. "They are not doing it," Cisco groaned revising his earlier statement.

"Ugh!" Wells slammed his fist down on the table.

"Well back to work," Caitlin said in the cheeriest voice she could muster. It was already midnight and they knew they were in for an extremely long night.

It was six in the morning when Joe returned. He saw Cisco half asleep in the cortex, coffee in hand, obviously watching something on his computer,

"Morning," he said quietly making his way towards Barry and Iris,

"Shh science," is all Cisco said, without looking up from his computer. Joe couldn't help feeling a little bad, Cisco had also been struck by Barry's lightening, yet he got to go home, and sleep and Cisco had been working all night. He shook of the feeling of guilt, there wasn't a lot he could do, and Cisco was doing this for his friend and if he really hadn't been wells Caitlin would have sent him home. He walked into the med bay where he saw Iris asleep in a very uncomfortable looking chair and Barry was asleep on the bed, that Joe had left him in last night. When he sat down next to the bed Iris stirred a little,

"Morning dad," she sighed out, her voice was rough was sleep,

"Good morning, do you want to go home and get some proper rest?" he asked his daughter,

"I will as soon as Barry wakes up," she whispered, stretching out her back that had been scrunched up in the chair the entire night. It didn't take long for Barry to wake up after that, he let out a small moan of pain and his arms and legs twitched a little,

"Barr, are you alright?" Iris questioned gently. When she got no response, she looked towards Joe with a face of quiet panic, it was then Barry's eyes snapped open and they were glowing that awful red colour like they had before, "Guys!" Iris yelled out, "A little help please." Cisco came running in from the cortex, he looked much more awake than Joe and seen him mere minutes ago,

"Oh no, that's not good," Cisco said glancing at Barry and then his vitals. He ran back out of the room and called to Wells and Caitlin over the comms. A minute later, two sets of feet could be heard running towards the room and Caitlin was holding something in her hand,

"We've got it!" she exclaimed rushing to Barry's side. She pulled on some gloves quickly and cleaned his arm before injecting him with their new meta-human antibiotics. Everyone watched Barry in silence as his eyes flickered between red and brown and then he passed out. Caitlin check his vitals and took another vial of blood, "Its working," she breathed out, "he's going to be okay," everyone let out a sigh of relief. This was all about to be over.

It was three hours later when Barry finally woke up. As he opened his eyes, he could see Caitlin's face peering down over him, she shone a light into his eyes, before helping him sit up, "How are you feeling Barr?" she asked,

"Much better thanks," Barry responded giving her a soft smile, she quickly returned it before asking him for a urine sample. He let out a soft sigh but quickly obliged and headed into the bathroom. When he returned Caitlin hurried off to check everything was okay and Joe and Iris entered the room.

"I'm happy your feeling better Barr," Iris said giving him a quick hug,

"Me too, you scared me there for a minute," Joe admitted,

"I'm okay now, I promise." Barry reassured them and he gave Joe a quick hug. A few moments later Caitlin returned,

"You are completely healthy," she told him with a warm smile, "we can take off those meta-cuffs now," she told him. Cisco entered the room to take them of and gave him a quick hug, glad to see his friend feeling better. Barry flexed his wrists, happy to be free of the cuffs.

"Thank you all for everything, "he said gratefully,

"Thank you for getting better."
