Jaune- Pyrrha, and Ren sat on the couch, and with nothing else to do they turned on the t.v, Jaune didn't know why but for whatever reason he didn't find anything he wanted to watch.
"So why did you guys want to go to Beacon?' he asked Ren and Pyrrha
Pyrrha hesitated for a moment not knowing if she should answer Jaune with the truth, but she had already done a lot of things she normally wouldn't have, so she decided that if she had already gone this far why shouldn't she finish what she started.
"I...I wanted to have friends," she answered Jaune
"All of my life, the only thing that I've known are competitions and going to social events, but" she tried to explain to Jaune but try as she might she couldn't find the right words to use
'It's a lonely life, the people there ...no one is your friend, ad you can't go to school because you travel a lot" she said to him
Pyrrha waited for Jaune to laugh, listening to her own words made her realize just how childish she sounded, yet Jaune and Ren who was listening never laughed.
"My great-grandpa was a hero, my grandpa fought in the war, my dad lead entire armies, one of my sisters is an explorer one went to the army and another is a huntress."
"Even my mom before she settled down, was a huntress and I'm just me"
"I wanted to prove to them, to me, that I was just as good as them, that I didn't need to be babied, that I could stand with them," Jaune said to her.
Pyrrha couldn't believe her ears, compared to her selfish desire for a normal life Jaunes reason was something she couldn't hope to understand
He came from a long line of heroes, heroes that had decided that he wasn't fit to be one of them.
"The day I left for Beacon, my grandpa saw me, it was him to tried to train me"
"He didn't try to stop me from leaving, he was the only one that believed in me and failed him," Jaune said to her, his words seemed as if they lacked strength as he spoke.
"You haven't failed" Ren answered Jaune, despite not saying much he had somehow reminded Jaune that if what Qrow said was true then Jaune had one more chance.
"How about you Ren?" Pyrrha asked Ren
"My hometown was destroyed by Grimm."
'Nora and I have always been together ever since...I know I cat bring my town back, but I can make sure she doesn't lose anyone else" Ren answered her.
the three of them sat in silence, a silence that didn't last long as the bathroom door opened and Nora walked out.
"Well I'm here because Ren is here and wherever Ren goes Nora goes"
"Because were Ren and Nora" Nora said to everyone as she hugged Ren from behind.
Both Jaune and Pyrrha watched Nora hug Ren but they both immediately noticed that her smile wasn't real, it was something she was using to hide behind.
It was like a mask she used to protect both herself and Ren from the world around them.
A knock on the door caught everyone's attention and Nora immediately went to open the door, standing there was a bellman, at his side were the bags they had left at Beacon.
"Hellow students your luggage has arrived," the man said to them
Pyrrha- Jaune and Ren immediately walked up to the door and helped the man bring their luggage inside.
'Sorry we don't have any money, right now" Jaune said to the man, he wasn't lying, after all, he didn't have a lot of money with him at the moment, just enough to pay for a ticket back home and maybe pay for another meal.
"Don't worry bout it, Beacon has already taken care of it" the bellman answered Jaune before bowing and leaving.
As they brought their bags in none of them noticed the crow that watched them through the window.
"Guess we should get change," Nora said to everyone before she opened her suitcase and took out a clean set of clothes, she immediately went back into the bathroom.
When she came out she was wearing a pink skirt, white long sleeve shirt with white long socks, and pink shoes.
Pyrrha immediately entered the bathroom and changed into a light brown dress and over it, she wore a red cape coat, for her feet she wore black sandals.
Ren was next and surprisingly he did change but his clothes were no different from the clothes he wore for fighting, they lacked the padding or whatever it was that he used to protect himself with.
He wore a green long sleeve shirt and white pants, with green shoes.
Jaune was the one that somehow changed the most outside of his armor he wore a black hoody that had the picture of a bunny on it and blue jeans with black sneakers.
Again someone knocked n the door this time Ren was the one to answer it, Qrow had come back, and t everyone's surprise he was drunk.
The man had barely managed to get to the room before somehow falling asleep at the door.
So when Ren opened the door to see who it was Qrow fell into the room, somehow despite hitting the floor hard enough to make a sound when he landed Qrow didn't wake up.
the four of them pulled the man into the room and closed the door.
They knew that someone had to have given Beacon their location, it was the only way the school knew where to send their luggage to, and the only person that knew where they were staying was the man that was currently passed out on the floor.
Pyrrha loke around this was it, she didn't know what it was but she knew this was it.
She tapped Jaune on his shoulder and pointed at his sword and shield that were still on his wist, Jaune despite changing out of his armor kept his weapons with him.
Pyrrha mentally made a note to copy this from him from now on.
The two of them said their goodbyes to Renand Nora before heading to the roof of the hotel.
"Jaune you heard him, you have to learn fast," Pyrrha said to Jaune hoping to motivate him as she took out her spear, that she had brought with her before leaving the room.
She didn't need her shield or her armor, Jaune was nowhere near her level of skill, and despite being stronger than her, Pyrrha knew that could easily beat Jaune if she needed to.
Pyrrha closed her eyes, she would allow Jaune to see her at her best, she wouldn't hurt him or hit him for that matter, but she would show him the distance between the two of them
he knew that if Jaune was to pass the last exam, he would need to be at his best, but the exam was just the beginning, everyone in that school would be better trained than Jaune, regardless of who they were.
They would have years of experience, while he either had a few days or a few months at most.
Pyrrha opened her eyes and used her Aura to strengthen herself and increase her speed.
She became a blur, she was certain that from Jaune's perspective she was touching him from all sides at once.
She finally stopped moving when Jaune lost his will to fight and dropped his sword.
He had tried and failed to hit her more than once, but she had unwillingly gone too far and broken his resolve completely.
Pyrrha hated herself for what she did, but now that Jaune was at rock bottom, he had nowhere else to go but up.
She watched as Jaune fell to his knees and she knelt in front of him, she placed her hand on his shoulder and looked into his blue eyes.
The blond teen looked at her green eyes and she gave him her warmest smile.
She didn't know what to say, she didn't know if her words would help at all but she knew one thing she could do.
Pyrrha gave Jaune a warm hug and felt her Aura mix with his, she somehow felt everything Jaune was feeling and she cursed herself when she felt how utterly defeated and useless he felt.
She wondered if Jaune knew what she felt or understood why she had done what had just done to him.
Jaune, on the other hand, could feel Pyrrhas regret, but he now understood her a little bit better, they were partners now, for reasons he didn't understand he felt that Pyrrha and himself shared a bond no one else did.
What that bond was he didn't know, but he knew it was there.
Maybe it had to do with the fact that Pyrrha had awakened his Aura, maybe it didn't, but he slowly raised his hands and returned Pyrrha's hug.
"Ready to try again?" Pyrrha asked him.
The next two weeks were the same, Qrow would wake up take them to the park and they would fight each other, then he would send them back to the hotel and then he would go out to drink.
While he was gone Pyrrha and Jaune would go to the empty roof and train together after two weeks had passed and Monday arrived Ren and Nora joined them in their training.
Ren would point out Jaune's flaws while Nora told him to avoid her attacks.
There were times when Qrow would come back drunk but dint pass out, instead, he would start to tell stories about his old team.
He told them about Summer Rose the most beautiful woman he ever knew, his sister Raven and the idiot who slept with them both.
Whenever Qrow remembered his old teammate, he would say
"I don't want to remember that guys name."
One day Qrow called them all over to him and told them to listen, he didn't bother telling them to sit down he just wanted them to listen.
"Alright your all going to start survival training"
"Look these are my instructions, you can either have a hot meal or a good nights sleep, not both"
"there's a part of the city that is sealed off because it's infested with Grimm and that's where all of you are going," He said to them before he fell asleep
After hearing those words, they all looked at each other not knowing what to do or say after hearing the man's warning.
"there's no point in worrying about it now," Jaune said to everyone as he took out a flier someone had given him when he had gone out to buy food.
During their stay, they found out that Beacon was paying for their stay, this included their food, all they had to do was order and go down to pick it up.
The flyer was an ad announcing a group Pyrrha never heard of laying at a club nearby.
"Let's have some fun, before he tries to kill us" Jaune said to everyone
