Luz always hated Father's Day, mostly because she never had a father. When she did find out who her father was, she hated it even more. Today, she was doing the one thing she never got to do. She was walking in the Realm of the Dead, entered the castle, and right into the Throne room, where she was immediately wrapped in a hug.
"Luz, Princess, it's good to see you again." Belos said.
Luz returned the hug.
"I don't know why you still call me 'Princess', I'm 7'3, in my thirties, have two kids, and I'm the Emperor. I haven't been a Princess since my eighteenth birthday."
"To me, you'll always be my princess." Belos said, "To what do I owe the pleasure."
"It's... Father's Day. I never had a father to celebrate it with." Luz said.
"Well, you do now." He said, "So what do you want to do?"
"It's supposed to be your day." Luz said.
"And nothing would make my day better, than finally being able to be a father." He said, "I can already tell there's something you want. Out with it."
"I... I want to get a family portrait done." Luz said, "I want to be able to have people come over to the castle and I can show them, finally be able to say, 'This is my family, and I couldn't be happier'."
"Think you can get the others to agree?" He asked.
"I already asked them, all I need is you."
"Well then, I'll go get a... better outfit on." He said.
Luz felt happy. She was finally going to get a happy family moment. When her dad was ready, in his opinion, he stood near Luz.
"Dad, take the mask off." Luz said.
She took the mask and tossed it to another part of the room. Belos ruffled Luz's hair. Luz made a spell circle and brought them to the living world.
"You really need to add a color to your spell circle." Belos said.
"You can do that?" Luz asked.
"Only a few powerful witches can, but yes. Did you always think mine was red? It used to be a pale orange."
Luz looked at her finger.
"I wear white a lot, so I think it's a very good fit." Luz said.
Belos didn't even get to say something, when he felt a fifteen year old tackle him with a hug.
"Grandpa!" Azura said, "I can't believe you're here!"
"Azura, Carino, please let your grandfather up." Camila said, carrying baby Alex.
Azura let Belos up and he walked over to Camila.
"Hello, Darling."
"Hello, Mi Amor."
"Is this my grandson?" He asked.
"Yes, it is." Camila said, handing Alex off to Belos.
"He's a handsome prince." Belos said, looking at Luz, "You have such a wonderful family."
"It's your family as well." Luz said.
The whole family lined up, Belos in the back, because, even though Luz was over seven feet tall... he was still taller. A few days later, Luz was looking at the painting on the wall. Below the painting, was a golden nameplate, that said, The Royal Family. Luz wiped a tear from her eye.
"My family."
