Tracey was lifting a heavy box into the building.
"Last one." Tracey said.
"Honey, let me help with that." Her mom said.
"No, this is my business, I'm going to do the work." Tracey said, "I didn't spend four years at Hexside, moving heavy bags of fertilizer and fighting giant carnivorous plant, to lose to one measly box."
Tracey got the box onto the counter and let out a breath. She looked around the room filled with plants and smiled. Her mom came over and hugged her.
"You've grown up to be a wonderful young lady." She said, "And a great witch."
"Thanks mom. I know it was weird for you to accept that I was experimented on, but I'm glad you've come around... John don't eat that!" Tracey said to her brother, who was about to eat a berry.
Tracey took the berry out of her brother's hand and put it in her mouth and ate it.
"Jeez, you're eighteen and about to start college and I still have to be your big sister!" Tracey said.
"I don't see what the big deal is." He said.
Tracey face palmed, she recently turned twenty two, it's been about eight years since she became a witch and she still has to explain this.
"You are Human, things you eat here can kill you." She said.
"I figured I would give you one last scare before I go to college." He said.
"Don't know why you need to go to college." Tracey said, "I didn't go to college and I'm opening a business."
"Sweetheart, there is no college here." Their mom reminded them.
"Whatever." Tracey said with a smile, "I'm glad you came to help, but I can really do this myself."
"No way in hell am I letting my sister do all the work to open a flower shop." Johnathan said, "You know, it's kind of funny, you became this magical creature and decided to... become a florist."
"Hey, I'm great at Plant Magic." Tracey said, rolling up her sleeve, "I mean, I got this patch for it."
John rolled his eyes and pulled something out of a bag.
"I got this made for you." He said, "Figured you'd like it."
He handed it to her and she looked at it. It was a wooden sign that said, "Miller's Flower Shop" written in a fancy font and dark color. A few flowers were around the words. Tracey smiled and hugged her brother.
"Thank you." She said.
Tracey walked outside and climbed the ladder. She hung the sign up on the metal bar sticking out from the building.
"Perfect." She said.
She climbed down the ladder and walked inside. She looked at the door and smiled before flipping the closed sign to open.
"I have a business." She said, "I've actually made a business."
Tracey's mom came over and hugged her.
"I'm so proud of you honey."
"Yeah, you finally managed to do something." John teased.
Tracey rolled her eyes and went behind the counter. She put and apron on and smiled.
"Time to get to work."
