Heather, Emily, and Tracey were on the Grudgby field with the other students, except Luz and Amity. There was a lot of talking from the other students, but the three of them were pretty quiet.

"So, what are we doing here?" Tracey asked.

"Don't know, we were told to come here." Heather said, "If it means less time in class, I'm all for it."

"You just like to complain about everything, don't you?" Emily asked.

Heather just shrugged. After a few minutes, Principal Bump and Eda showed up.

"Greeting students, I am proud to announce that you will be getting your Palismen today." Bump said.

There was a few whispers among the students, mostly in excitement. Eda stepped up.

"Now, the trees used to make them are still untouchable while the Princess and Emperor try and bring them back from the edge of extinction, so we have a new idea." Eda said.

The Bat Queen landed with a big nest.

"Thanks for the help, Bat Queen." Eda said.

"No worries, the palismen have been ready since they were told about this."

"Now, every palisman is important to a witch, becoming more than just a staff, but an extension of yourself." Bump said, "For example."

The demon on his head came off and formed a staff.

"Frewin here, helps me see."

The trio looked at each other.

"Did you know he could do that?" Heather asked.

"How would we know?" Tracey asked.

"Now, all of you, form a single file line and start to thinking about your deepest desire." Eda said, "You will find your Palisman when one connects with you."

The trio watched as students got their Palisman. Soon, it was Heather's turn.

"Deepest desire, huh?" Heather asked, "I want to become the greatest Illusionist on the Isles and use it mess people."

The Bat Queen chuckled.

"Strong sense of misdirection, Echo will be happy."

A blue bat Palisman flew out and landed on Heather's hand.

"You are too pure for this world." Heather said, adoring the bat.

"She... is being sensitive with it." Emily said.

"Heather and sensitive are not words that belong in the same sentence." Tracey said.

Tracey walked up and kneeled.

"I want to be a strong witch, one that will be able to stop anyone that hurts my friends."

"A sense of strength, with a bit of venom in her voice. Viper will be pleased."

A snake slithered out and wrapped around Tracey's head. Tracey rubbed her palismans chin. Emily came up and smiled.

"I want to become the Oracle Coven leader, while also training griffins."

"I've been waiting for someone to match the ferocity that Leo has."

A griffin flew out and landed on Emily's shoulder. Eda watched as the next generation of witches took the next step towards being true witches. After it was done, she went home and rested on the couch.

"I wonder why Luz and the little girlfriend of hers wasn't there. I hope she's alright."

Eda barely got her mug to her lips when she heard footsteps quickly approaching her house. The door was kicked open revealing Luz, holding a staff with a dragon palisman, Amity was quietly behind her holding a staff.

"Eda, Holy Fuck!"
