So why do I like and believe in the DC SM/WW pairing?

She looks him in the eye, and they gaze at each other, their thoughts united. “I have fought warriors you would not believe. Monsters…gods…with power to make worlds tremble. You make them all seem weak. And not because of your strength. Strength is everywhere in this world.” she began as she placed a hand on the symbol that signifies him as Kal-El and Superman. But the symbol is not what defines him; “If you have to fight Doomsday again, you will beat him because of who you are. Clark. Kal-El. Superman. And because you will not fight him alone.”

They recognise each other’s character as someone would really want to be with, whatever happens. That kind of chemistry is much more sincere and heartfelt than the clichéd type of attraction that stems from seeing someone mysterious and different.
