"What chain reactions did you and your friends start?" The Major's words repeated themselves inside Max's head as Max lowered his head on the table.

"This is all wrong," Max thought to himself as he opened his eyes and looked at the empty park.

In the past, he had the two kids with him and their presence alone was enough to help him deal with things when they became complicated.

Granted most of the time they ended up either killing everything in front of them, running away when they realized there was no way they could win.

He had originally returned to this world to remove the mark he had placed on the devil girl's shoulders, that way he would sever any attachments he and his friends had to this world.

Yet when he tried to tell the red-headed devil that she was now free, the nail in his pocket forced his words to become something different.

Now for whatever reason, he couldn't just leave this wretched devil-infested world, despite wanting to.

"Maybe I can just give them to someone else," Max thought to himself as he noticed a group of schoolchildren walk past him.

The nails in his pocket were reacting to this world or perhaps he should say world's, it wasn't the first time he had shown up in a reality where different worlds met and interacted with one another.

Hell, it was in one of those worlds where he managed to get Thor's hammer and Captain America's shield, plus a couple of other things.

Yet this world was or is different, if Max had to describe this pocket reality, he would have said that someone attempted to make light of the situation they were in.

Things like angels- fallen- demons- devils- gods and humans along with everything else didn't ever get along.

No, he had seen plenty of worlds before to understand that.

Yet in this reality, everything seemed to work in a shade of gray like if all sides had found a compromise and were sticking to it, despite said compromise constantly being broken.

Max began to tap on his wrist computer and found that it managed to connect to another world, luckily for him, it was one that he and his friends had used to pass the time, and as such it was one of the ones he liked.

He didn't bother standing up, he simply opened the portal beneath him and let gravity do the rest.

The world he emerged in was one where everything died and the only thing that kept the world going was the many reality marbles that were still ongoing despite their masters and enemies being long gone.

He found the ancient mansion he and his friends used to live in and to his surprise it was clean and had power running through it.

"Welcome back master" he heard a woman say to him and Max found himself looking at something he thought would have died a long time ago.

The woman was nothing more than an incomplete doll, she was nothing more than an unfinished project, just a basic wooden doll that wore a red wig and a maid uniform she had found when she woke up.

"Where did they all come from?" Max asked his maid as he looked past her and looked at the many robots- automatons- golems and other humanoid and mechanical creations that stood behind the doll.

"Some reacted to your presence as well as the presence of your friends and made their way here"

"When they discovered that you had already left, I tasked them with the recovery of all of the treasures that remain in the world, of course, that meant reclaiming and restoring others like themselves" the doll answered Max before she lifted her hand opened her mouth, stuck her hand in and pulled out a massive spear.

"It is the spear that separates all worlds, it is now dormant as all worlds have become one, but have not fully died yet," the doll said to Max.

"Rhongomyniad" Max said as he took the spear, he closed his eyes for a moment and created a small opening, in reality, it was from this empty void in reality that the sword of victory Excaliber came out of.

"What's happening?' Max asked himself as the nails and crucifix in his pocket began to react to Rhongomyniad and Excaliburs presence.

"A chain reaction" the doll answered Max as the images of the Moon crashing into the Earth began to flood into Max's mind, yet this event wasn't alone as other planets crash into one another.

The mages were soon replaced with both the heroes in the throne of heroes and counter guardians fighting against each other, as well as those that were kept inside the moon cell.

Yet the fighting wasn't exclusive to them alone as humanity, as well as every other creature that didn't depend on magic to live, was now forced to fight against creatures they once thought of as myth because the reverse side of the world had suddenly been forced to mix with the main world.

Needless to say, gods and devils fought in this great war, and in the end, the only things that were left in this dead world or reality were the creaturs that stood in front of him, soulless machines that can only imitate and never truly create or appreciate anything.

"Why are you giving this to me," Max asked the doll

"It said it was meant for you, as there is another war that will soon be occurring" the doll answered Max

"What if I choose to leave that world?" Max asked the doll, but it didn't answer.

"How does the mansion have power?" Max asked the doll as he tried to change the conversation.

"We restored several science-based generators- as well as magic based ones while using magic tech as an intermediate to maintain the energy stable and keep the respected power sources from violently interacting" the doll answered Max

'Okay now explain it to me using none confusing language" Max said to the dol

"Magic and science act violently with each other, however, both are needed in this period, so to keep them from blowing up we used machines that used both to keep the house from exploding, so the house now has electricity- running water and a fully stocked kitchen" the doll answered Max.

"Did they find anyone else alive?" Max asked the doll as he began to explore the mansion and he was surprised to find the once broken and dust-covered walls were now fixed, clean.

The hallways that were once dark filled with rubble and gave off a gloomy feeling were now clean, bright with red and gold color and if Max was honest he felt underdressed to be walking in them.

"We have found gods and devils that survived the war, but they remain content with their isolation"

"We have also found a couple of humans that achieved immortality using one method or another, as well magical beings"

"All of them are content to live in isolation, as they see everything as being pointless now" the doll answered Max

Max didn't say anything after that he just walked into a giant room found a radio turned it on, then after finding out that nothing was playing on any station, due to them not existing anymore he took out a c.d and began to play some music.

It was the first time music had been heard in the world in countless ages, how long it truly was didn't matter, as the sound was carried all over the world until it reached the ears of those that remained, for a brief moment those being smiled, and then went back into depression.

"How about I give you guys a new order, keep gathering all of the treasures like we ordered you guys, but why don't you guys try to restore the old buildings and things that remain, like the roads and statues."

"You know do something to pass the time so that you don't have to be so bored," Max said to the doll who began to dance like a ballerina.

'Ofcoursemaster, we will be thrilled to serve you" the doll said before running out of the room and passing the order down to the rest of the machines.
