Arc One: Mystery
Chapter Eighteen: Xatu's Great Power
I just stare in awe. In a room that's supposed to be dark, I can surprisingly see the Mystic Pokemon very well. Maybe it's because I know what he looks like so well that I can piece it together, or maybe Arceus just made him glow whenever he wishes.
Well, whatever the reason, he's here. In front of me. Looking at me. And I'm at a loss of words.
Things sure have escalated quickly.
"You're still in shock, are you not?" He says back.
I...still can't say anything. I'm just speechless. I hear him chuckle a bit. "I understand that you have been in quite the predicament looking for me. Thankfully, you have uncovered the secret of this mountain, and to that, you should be very proud of yourself."
Still, nothing comes to my mind, but I know that I have to say something.
"Y-you really are Xatu, right. Like, THE Xatu?" I ask him.
"Ha ha ha!" He goes. "Still at a loss of words I see. Not to worry, I understand. I can see both the past and future, as well as now of course. I know what has happened on your journey."
A smile forms on my face. "Yeah, uhh, you don't know how much this means to-oh, wait, you do."
"You are correct." He says as he walks past me. He then adds, "Come, young one. You have a question, and I have the answer for it. You just have to follow me to my cliffside so I can answer it."
I decide to follow him and add, "Oh, ok. But why do I have to go there if you know the answer to it?"
He takes a moment to think to himself. "I get a better feel of what must happen to make sure the future stays the same. Not to mention that Arceus helps me figure out how I should phrase it."
He then sighs, "It has been a long time since I've had a Pokemon enter this place."
"When was the last time you saw anymon else come in here?" I ask.
"Now that's a question I'll have to find out after I take yours." He says, laughing.
I start to laugh with him. Man, it feels good to be in a good mood.
As we walk through the blue Aura that lights up the path, I ask, "What were you doing outside your room?"
"Can't a Pokemon go outside after being cooped up for a while?" He answers. "Of course, I make sure that no mon sees me whenever I do decide to leave. Those who don't have a pebble aren't allowed to ask any questions."
He also reveals a small brown bag under his right wing, "Not to mention that bring this with me in case I come across something that is of my interest."
I continue walking until I realize something. "Wait a minute!" I panickily say to the bird. "That didn't count for my question, did it?"
He then laughs even louder. "Of course not! I would never pull that kind of trick on anymon. A simple question like that costs nothing what so ever."
"That's a relief." I say as I sigh.
"Red?" I hear somemon say. I smile then appears on my face. I bet it's Lucas, but I wonder, should I run up ahead to tell them who I found, or should I just wait for him to look for me and-
"There you are." Lucas says as he appears from behind the wall. "What took youuuuuuuuuuuuuu..."
He then stops as he stares at Xatu, completely in awe. "R-Red...is that who I think it is?" He says as he slowly smiles.
I smile with him. "Sure is, buddy. This is his cave, alright."
Immediately, Lucas' smile brightens as his tail wags out of control. He then hollers, "YES! HA, HA, HA! GUYS! XATU'S HERE!"
"There are more of you?" Xatu asks me.
I rub the back of my head. "Only two more. Does it matter?"
He takes sometime, but then says, "...no..."
I then hear Sparks' reply to the Rilo, sounding a bit confused. "Yeah, we know. That's why we're trying to find him."
"No, I mean that he's standing right in front of me." Lucas calls back.
"..." "..."
"WHAT!?" Both Sparks and Eve yell as they rush over, with Sparks using Quick Attack, and Eve teleporting over, and both of them are just as surprised as Lucas.
"X-Xatu?!" Eve says as she looks at him. Sparks, on the other hand, keeps up his pace and starts to run around the green bird with excitement in every step he takes.
"Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh, it's really you!" He says over and over again. Eve just stood still as the Small Mouse Pokemon continued to run around Xatu.
Thinking that Xatu might find it somewhat annoying, I decide to say, "Sparks, I think you need to give Xatu some space."
Before Sparks can respond, he stops in the air. Not because of himself, but because of Xatu, who nods.
"I understand your excitement, but I'd appreciate if you would leave some space to myself, like your friend said, ok?"
Sparks then answers, "Oh, sorry. I get very excited very fast, and this is one of those moments where I'm super excited."
Xatu then sets the Pichu down onto the ground, the mouse says, "I can't wait to tell Chatot that we found you."
I smile at the thought. It's not that he said he didn't believe we could find him, but the way he phrased it made it crystal clear that he thought we'd come home empty-handed.
So yeah, I'm rubbing it in his face when we get back.
"Is this everymon that came with you, Red?" Xatu asks me.
I nod. "Ya. Everymon else is back at Treasure Town. We're the only ones that traveled here."
"Alrighty then. Do you four wish to continue to my cliffside?" Xatu says.
Lucas then jumps in the air. "Yes please, that's why we're here!"
Xatu then moves forward and says, "Then follow me."
We then follow the bird. As we do, I feel somemon tap my shoulder. I turn and see Lucas, who is still super excited.
"Can you believe it?! He's right in front of us!" He says with the same excitement as a little kid, pointing to the Xatu. He then adds, "I would have thought he would be on the other side of the river waiting for us."
"He was outside. He said that he doesn't like staying at the cliffside all of the time." I say back, in case he was wondering why he wasn't on the other side.
"That makes sense, and it's good thing that we found him before we got to the other side." Lucas says. "We would be standing there for a while waiting for him to come back, or worse, we would just think that he wasn't here."
I laugh. "I guess luck is on our side now. Hopefully it's smooth sailing from here."
I then look over at Eve and notice that she's being quiet and has her head down, as if she's thinking. Come to think of it, she didn't say anything when she saw Xatu besides his name.
I then brush it off. I was the same as her when I saw Xatu for the first time. She's still speechless about it I bet.
We keep walking until we reach the edge of the river, still as strong as when we were here.
Sparks then says, "Thank Arceus that you're here, Mr. Xatu. Do you think that you can help us cross this river?"
Xatu continues to look out to the river. He then turns to the Pichu and says, "Yes, I'll be happy to, but I'll need some help to do it correctly."
He then teleports in front of Eve, surprising her. He then says to her, "Sorry for startling you, young Vulpix, but would you mind helping me out a bit."
Eve stutters, but manages to say, "Uhh, sure, but what can I do?"
Xatu turns back to the rushing water. "I need you to use Ice Beam to freeze some of the water so that we can make a wall. I shall use Psychic to help keep the ice stable while we walk through."
Eve still remains nervous. "A-are you sure that is a good idea? Couldn't you just Teleport us over there?"
"Nothing in life will come for free, we must all play a part if we want to receive the prize at the end." He says back.
He then starts to glow with a similar blue color like the Aura lighting up this cave. He then says, "Are you ready?"
Eve takes a moment, but then nods. "Ok, I'll try my best."
"Hey, Mr. Xatu." Sparks says. "What can we do to help?"
He answers, "Nothing at the moment. Just be ready to cross the stream when it starts to freeze."
Sparks, Lucas, and I then wait off to the side as Eve takes a deep breath. Then, she lets out a light blue beam that resembles lightning onto the water, and the area surrounding it starts to freeze up.
"Perfect." Xatu says, "Now, continue moving forward. I shall keep the ice from breaking."
Eve nods a little as she aims higher up the river. As she does that, Xatu covers the ice with the same glow that he's covering himself with. Soon, Eve manages to create a wall of ice that, with Xatu's help, keeps most of the water at bay.
Get it? At bay.
...
...
*COUGH*
Anyways, when Eve finally gets her Ice Beam to the other side, Xatu says, "That's enough." To her.
Eve doesn't waste a second as she collapses on the floor as soon as she heard him. She is clearly very tired out from that move and she was trying to catch her breath. "That...was...probably the most tiring thing that I've done in a long time." She barely says.
I than picked an Oran Berry out of our explorer's bag and walked over to the fox. I then go on my knees and say, "Here, you deserve this." With a smile on my face.
Her cheeks turn red as she grabs the berry with her mouth. To my surprise, she manages to slip the berry down her throat in one gulp. As the berry disappears, it's power makes the Alolan Ice-Type glow with a familiar blue color. Soon after the light faded away, she gets onto her four paws and says, "T-thank you." With her face still quite red.
Lucas continues to wag his tail as he approaches her. "That was awesome, Eve. You used your Ice Beam for so long. I've never seen somemon use a move for that long of a time."
Eve smiles at the Rilo's comment, clearly flattered, and says, "Thanks, but I-I think we should make our way down the path now."
"She is correct." Xatu says. "You four can make your way through the water. You all should be fine now."
"Alright!" Sparks says. And in a blink of an eye, he's on the other side, waving to us. "Come on over, guys."
I look to Lucas, we both nod at each other, and make our way pass the half-froze water. We don't take our time, though, as we don't want to stress out Xatu any longer than he has to, as I don't think holding up all the water is an easy task to do.
Soon, Lucas, Eve, and I join Sparks on the other side of the river.
"Isn't this so cool?!" Sparks says. "Xatu's helping us through this river, and pretty soon, he'll be answering our questions. I can hardly wait."
"Yeah, but where's Xatu?" Lucas asks as he points to the other side. "He's not over there."
"I'm right behind you, small Riolu." He says as Lucas turns around to see Xatu staring at him.
The Emanation Pokemon lets out a small yelp, as the green bird says, "Please stand back away from the river. I'm about to let my grip off of the ice, and I don't wish for any of you four to be swept away by the current."
"Sure thing." I say as we all move away from the ice, which is starting to crack as we inch away.
When we get far enough, Xatu says, "Ready yourselves." And stops using his power.
Right at that moment, the ice holding up the water comes crashing down and rushes down the stream.
"Wow, I'd hate to be in there." I say to the bird. "Thanks again for helping us through, Xatu."
Xatu turns and says, "You all are very welcomed. Now then, I believe we are almost to our destination."
This makes Lucas grin from ear to ear as we're almost there. I follow suit, as how can I not? This is super exciting.
We follow Xatu down the path, but that doesn't last to long as we come face to face with...stairs.
Memories of me failing at the simple task of going up and down stairs flood my mind as I stare at them. I may be better at them now, but I still hate them so much. Hopefully I don't mess up.
"Hey Mr. Xatu?" Sparks asks. "Is your cliffside at the top of this staircase?"
Xatu smiles and says, "Yes, we'll be there shortly afterwards."
He then starts to go up the stairs, and we all follow him. As I carefully make my way up the stairs, the same yellow mouse decides to hop onto my head. Thankfully, I don't lose any of my balance.
He then says, "Can you believe it guys? At the top of all these stairs is where we'll have our questions answered."
He then turns to Lucas and asks, "Sooooooo Lucas, what are you going to ask Xatu?"
Lucas puts his paw on his chin as he thinks. "Hmm, I haven't thought about that. Maybe I can ask him if I can find somemon to help me learn Aura Sphere."
"Yeah, that'd be super cool if you can end up making one." Sparks says.
Lucas then asks Sparks, "What are you going to ask for?"
He puts his hand on the side of his chest and says, "I'm going to ask him how we can stop the Mystery Dungeons from spreading."
"Yeah, we really got to take care of that." I say. "I think you all know what I'm going to ask."
Sparks nods. "Yeah. That's as clear as day."
He then twists around 180 degrees to look at Eve and says, "What about you, Eve? Have you thought about what you'd like to ask him?"
Eve keeps her head down, but looks at Sparks and says, "It's...a personal question."
Sparks puts his eyebrows up. "Oh! Ok then."
I look at the Vulpix and half-smile. Now I know why she was quiet. She was thinking about her question. I then whisper to her, "Hope you get the answer you're looking for."
At first, it doesn't seem that she heard me, but I hear, "Thank you. I hope you find out more about yourself."
I then add another half to my smile...and then trip over a stair, causing my face to slam into the stairs, while Sparks' entire body crashes into it. "OWW!" We yell as our faces hit the hard rock.
Dang it, and I was almost up to the top. About six more steps and that would have been it.
"Red! Sparks!" Eve says out loud. "Are you guys ok?"
I put my hands to the stairs and lift up my head, "Yeah, this isn't even the first time I've slammed into something hard today."
I then feel something running down my nose. I wipe my right hand over it and bring it to my eyes. "Great, now I have a bloody nose. How about you, Sparks?" I ask the fallen Pichu.
He gets up and turns around. I can tell that he fell hard, as not only is he looking a tad purple, but he looks dizzy too with spirals in his eyes. He does try his hardest not to cry as he says, "C-could be better. Can w-we have an Oran Berry, p-please?"
"Sure thing, you guys." Lucas says as he looks through his bag.
Eve, however, panics and says, "I'm sorry. That was my fault. I didn't mean to make you-"
I put my hand up and say, "It's ok. Really. I'm just bad at climbing stairs. That's a proven fact." I go and pick up Sparks and go to put him on my head, when I see Eve still looks shaken up after what I said to her, and it makes me a bit more confused. She did listen to me, right?
"T-thanks Red. Oh boy, I'm seeing stars above my head." Sparks says.
I then look back to Lucas and notice that he's still looking through the bag. I get even more puzzled and ask, "Lucas? Aren't you going to grab two Oran Berries for us?"
I then notice that he's starting to sweat. Eve then walks up to Lucas and says, "You ok, Lucas?"
He then turns to Eve and says, "Did...did somemon eat all of our Oran Berries?"
We all shake our heads...and then realize what he just said.
"WAIT! Are you saying we're out of Oran Berries?!" I ask out loud.
It takes a moment for Lucas to answer, but he eventually says, "...yes..."
I continue to stare at my partner like if this is some kind of joke. "Heh, heh. You're kidding, right?" I ask nervously.
Lucas looks at me. "Do you think I'd joke about not having Oran Berries when you two need them?"
I chuckle. "Well, I was hoping so."
Eve gets more panicked, "What are we going to do now?! You two are hurt, we're out of berries, and our badges-"
"Eve, relax." I say. "We're not that hurt. I mean, we are, but no nose bleed lasts that long. Trust me. In fact, I think mine's almost done, and Sparks can just ride on my head. Besides, Xatu probably has some berries for us that can help us, right?!" I yell at the end as I watch the bird.
He doesn't turn around, but he still says, "Yes, I do have some supplies that can help you two, we just need to get past this door and we'll be on our way." As he shows his bag.
"Door?!" I hear Sparks say. I then see him jump from my head to Lucas as he dashes up the stairs, though he almost falls off. "Heh, just made it."
I smile and wipe my nose as Eve says, "I guess you guys are fine."
"Come on, let's join them." I say to Eve. "It wasn't your fault we got hurt. Don't worry about it and let's just move on, ok."
She then looks at me while I smile, and then she smiles. "O-ok, if you say so." She says.
Before we can go and catch up with Lucas and Sparks, who are both standing right next to the large door, I notice Xatu climbing up the stairs. At the last step, however, his bag catches the edge of a stalagmite, causing it to fall from the bird. It then begins to tumble down the stairs towards Eve and I.
I ready myself, but then Eve says, "I got it." and gets in front of it.
The bag then hits her, but she holds her ground, making sure that the bag doesn't go any further down the steps.
"Thank you, Vulpix." Xatu says calmly. "You don't mind bringing that up to me, would you?"
"Sure thing." She says as she grabs the strap with her mouth and walks up the stairs ahead of me.
I then look at the door. It's very big, and looks like it is very well decorated. Besides the door are two solid rock walls, with the stairs (that I'm still on) leading to the river at the end.
"This is really it, huh?" Sparks asks Xatu. "Your home is right behind this door?"
"Indeed." Xatu says. "Your journey is about to come to an end."
He then turns to the Vulpix, who is just about the finish climbing the stairs. I notice that she's shaking a little. That bag must have been heavier than she thought at first.
Xatu reaches his wing out and says, "Thank you for-"
We are all then taken by surprise when Eve collapses onto the stairs and, along with the bag she was carrying, rolls down the stairs.
"Eve!" Lucas and Sparks scream, while I just think, "What is up with things going down the stairs?!"
I'm almost too shocked to move, but thankfully for me, I didn't have to move that much to get in the way of the falling Vulpix. But when she hits me, I lose my balance and fall back. I close my eyes and prepare myself for my painfully fall onto the rock stairs. But then I feel myself stop as I look perfectly straight up in the air.
Thank goodness, Xatu got me right before I slammed my head into the stairs. But as I'm pulled up back on my feet, I realize that it was actually Eve who stopped me, even though she just went unconscious seconds ago.
As she pulls me back on my two feet, I ask, "What happened to you? You just...fell."
But she doesn't say anything to me and turns to Xatu. She then adds to everymon's confusion when she runs straight for Xatu, putting her head down as blue energy appears around her head.
Wait, she isn't using Skull Bash on Xatu, is she?
She then jumps and screams at Xatu before she's stopped floating in the air, only a few feet away from the bird. "Calm down, Eve." Xatu says in a confused tone. "What's gotten into you?"
The rest of us are wondering the same thing and just stare at Eve. Finally Lucas speaks up, "Yeah, Eve. Did you hit your head on the stairs hard?"
Eve then says loud and clear, "THAT BIRD ISN'T XATU!" Everymon's eyes then widen.
"Sorry, what?!" I yell.
Xatu just shakes his head at the response and says, "You must have hit your head quite hard in order to come to that conclusion." As he goes to set the Alolan Vulpix down, he says, "Lucky for you, I should have Oran Berries for you."
Eve then starts to growl, "Like the ones you stole from us and then hid them in your bag?!"
"What?!" I think to myself. I look down and realize that Xatu's bag is right in front of me.
Now, regularly, I won't just dig through somemon's bag without his/her permission, but I'm going to over look it this once. I open the bag and check through it, and to my surprise, I see a whole lot of Oran Berries.
Ok, so Eve was right about the berry part, BUT he could have always had them in his-
I then freeze when I see something else in there: A red ring.
My mind races to when I last saw a red ring, and that was back when we fought Fang and Shard, and they used them to make illusions that hid their true identities.
But if that's the same one, then does that mean that Xatu is a-
"Fine." Xatu says as the light around him twists into a different Pokemon. It isn't a Stableye, Gengar, or a Zoroark, but instead, it has a mostly brown round body with yellow rings around his arms (his left arm has the same red ring), a grayish head and hands, and one red eye that makes up his face.
"Great, a Dusknoir." I think to myself.
This is one of the Pokemon that I never wanted to meet. They just look evil and seem like they're always planning something. And what's worse is that he's also probably working with Scar, which would explain the ring.
We can't ever catch a break, can't we?
"I was planning on revealing myself anyways sooner or later. I guess there's no time like the present. Wouldn't you agree?" He says as his second mouth smiles with the Vulpix starting to go higher into the air. Eve's face turns into horror as the Gripper Pokemon holds her tight.
The rest of us are still surprised from being tricked, but I take one look at Lucas, I see that he's already going to attack the Ghost-Type.
His paw turns silver as he dashes right at our enemy. Unfortunately, like Eve, he's stopped before he can reach his target by Psychic.
"Let go of me...y-you ghost!" Lucas says as he's in the air.
The Dusknoir pays no attention to him. Sparks, trying to keep his distance away from the Not-Xatu, uses Thunderbolt. However, the Dusknoir manages to bend the lightening so that it hits Lucas instead.
The Rilo screams in pain as Sparks immediately stops his attack. The Dusknoir then wickedly smiles and says, "Listen up. I did not come here to play games. I came here so that I too could ask Xatu a question, but I lost my Lucky Pebble on the way here." He then chuckles, as he lifts the zapped Pokemon higher in the air.
"Now, if you care about your friends, I request that you give me all of your pebbles you have with you, or else you'll be sorry that you didn't pack anything for the river."
I don't know what to say. Both Eve and Lucas are in trouble, and we do care about our friends, but we don't have a Lucky Pebble with us, so we can't give him what he wants!
The only thing we can do is fight him.
I then look firmly into his one eye and say, "Let go of our friends, right now, or you'll be the one that'll be sorry!"
The Dusknoir takes me as a joke, and then laughs, "You realize that I have two of your friends, I can do much more than hold them still in the air." He then puts more force on Lucas and Eve, but around their necks.
"I'll ask for last time. Hand me your pebbles, now!" He says with his burning red eye.
I freeze in fear as I see Eve and Lucas start coughing, but I can't do anything without having what he wants, and-
"But we don't have any with us!" Sparks speaks out.
The Dusknoir then pauses and turns toward the Pichu. "I'm sorry, what did you say, rodent?"
The Pichu gulps, but then says, "R-Red accidently got in here, and we only got in here because of our badges. W-we have no idea where one is!"
Dusknoir is not pleased with the Small Mouse Pokemon, and with a wave of his other hand, he creates blue fire.
"LIER!" He yells at Sparks as he tosses them at him.
Sparks closes his eyes, and puts both of his small paws in front of him. But then the fire splits in two and goes right around Sparks by just an inch.
"W-what? I missed?!" Dusknoir says dumbfounded.
But then a faint growl is heard from behind him. He turns back around and sees that Eve is starting to break free from his Psychic grip.
I start to worry. On one hand, it's good that Eve is fighting back, I just hope she doesn't get too carried away like last time.
"You heard what the Raboot said..." She says angerly. "YOU'LL BE SORRY!"
She then frees herself from his grip and uses Ice Beam as soon as she hits the ground. The dark ghost quickly drops his Psychic and sinks into the ground to dodge the attack, leaving Lucas to fall toward the ground.
Thankfully, I jump up the stairs to try and catch Lucas, but unthankfully, I jumped too early and landed on the ground below him...and then he landed on top of me. I hold my yelp through the pain, but least I broke his fall.
"Thanks Red. Sorry about landing on you." Lucas says as he gets off and quickly grabs my hand so I can get ready.
Sparks rushes to our side and yells, "W-where did he go?!"
"He's somewhere in the ground." Lucas says. "But it's too dark to see his shadow."
After hearing that, I try to focus really hard. If there was anytime for me to go all out, this is one of them. I get myself ready to use Ember.
"BEHIND YOU!" I hear Eve's voice ring inside my head. I don't think twice and use Ember as soon as I turn around. However, not only does it turn into Flamethrower, but Dusknoir was indeed there, and was caught completely off guard, as he is smacked straight to the wall.
I then feel myself getting enraged and getting powered up as well. "Oh yeah, this'll be fun." I say as I feel myself become even stronger. Thank you Arceus.
I stay on the offensive and jump toward the ghost and feel myself become one with fire as I use Flare Blitz. My head slams into the ghost as he once again takes a big hit in his stomach. I then bounce off him and go to use another Flamethrower when Lucas tackles me.
"RED! WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?!" He screams at me and then slaps me in the face.
I'm shocked by this, and put my hand over where he slapped me. "W-what do you mean? I was attacking-" I then look to where Dusknoir was on the wall and realize something: I wasn't fighting Dusknoir...I was attacking Eve.
My mind blocks out everything as I think it over again. No, I was fighting Dusknoir. I'm sure of it! I know what I saw, I-
...unless that Dusknoir used his ring to mess me up. It then clicks and I get even more enraged.
"That stupid ghost casted an illusion over me and made me think I was attacking him!" I then make a fist as my aura becomes angrier. I then yell, "You're in for it now you hear me!"
I then look up in the air and see some stalactites hocked on the ceiling in the air. I then look down and see the stalagmites that are on the ground. An idea then forms in my head.
"Lucas! Sparks!" I start, but then I see the ghost charge at me. Not wanting to repeat a possible mistake, I choose to avoid the ghost and not attack it. Lucas jumps the other way and Sparks just ducks, together, we all dodge his attack.
As it passes by me, I hear him say, "Thanks for your help." In Eve's voice, which just sends chills down my spine. That guy is heartless.
As soon as I hit the ground, I resume. "Do you think you can paralyze him, Sparks?"
He gets on my head and says, "That would be by using Thunder Wave, but I've never done Thunder Wave before! Only Thunderbolt!"
"What?" I say. "Wouldn't it just be the same thing as Thuderbolt, only you make your lightening...wider?"
Sparks blinks a few times, probably thinking about what I said. "Maybe." He mumbles. "I'll try it!"
I turn to Lucas and say, "Lucas, just make sure you can back Xa-well, Dusknoir up into a corner. I'll try to help you guys as much as I can!"
Lucas thinks for a moment, but then gives a thumbs up.
I then look for the ghost, and only after a few seconds, I spy the Dusknoir heading toward Eve, who's still knocked out!
"OH, NO YOU DON'T!" I scream. I'm not letting her down again, so I do the only thing think I should do: Kick a rock-err, stalagmite. As soon as I hit it, the top half breaks and bursts into flames as it shoots at the ghost, who, THIS time, had no idea what was coming at him.
Hitting somemon has never felt this good. After it buries the imposter into the wall, I jump in the air for joy. "Yes! I always wanted to use Pyro Ball!"
It doesn't take long for me to realize that our job isn't done, as the Dusknoir pushes the rock off of himself. He then puts his hands together and makes a dark ball full of ghost power.
He then says, "Take this, you-" Before he is able to finish, he is then hit by small, yet many, yellow bolts. He then glairs at the source of the attack, Sparks.
"That's it?" He says confused, "What did you think you would accomplish with that?" He then moves his body slightly to fire it at the Pichu, but then suddenly the same yellow bolts travel around him, making him flinch.
"Actually, that's exactly what I wanted to happen." Sparks says with a smile on his face. The Dusknoir growls trying to regain control of his body, but he's hit by Lucas' Metal Claw, and he's sent to the edge of the staircase.
"Looks like we got you on the ropes, now!" Lucas says with a gleaming claw. He then charges at Dusknoir. He, however, gets ready to stop him by using Pyschic.
Poor thing. He forgot about me.
You see, while he was distracted with Sparks and Lucas, I had used Bounce to get up to the ceiling. What do I plan to do you ask? I plan to knock down a few stalactites on him. Yes, that's crazy, but that just means that he won't see it coming.
Before he can freeze the Rilo, he hears something break above him. He looks up and sees rocks falling. He, however, manages to stop both the rocks and Lucas.
Panic enters Lucas as the Dusknoir says, "Clever, but not good enough." He then starts to throw the rocks at a frozen Rilo.
"You tried, but your still no match-" He is then interrupted by me falling from the sky using Flare Blitz on him. He may have seen the rocks coming, but he forgot to think about how they fell.
I then bounce off him as he slides even closer to the stairs. He goes to get up, but Sparks' Thunder Wave kicks in again, and stops him.
Lucas falls to the ground hurt as I send one more rock at him.
"TAKE THIS!" I scream as I launch the Ghost-Type down the stairs at full speed. As he tumbles down, he turns into different Dark-Type Pokemon before he is then swept away by the current that he had warned us not to fall into when he was still disguised as a Xatu.
After we hear the satisfying splash of his literal downfall, I yell, "That's what you get when...you m-mess...with..."
I then fall back, but I feel somemon catch me.
Wow, that was the longest time I was in that...form. I should really give that a name sometime. Just...not...right...now...
I hear somemon grunt and another say something else, but I'm too tired to tell who said what.
I just really, really, really want to take a- I then feel something get stuffed in my mouth. A berry. Somemon must have gotten me one to munch on. I then take a bite and soon, I feel like I just woke up from a nap. Most of the energy I used in the battle I feel come back in a second.
I then feel a Pichu on my head. "Feeling better?" He asks me.
I nod, "Yeah. I'm glad that's over. I really hate those guys. Scar must really hate us."
Lucas then grabs our bag that he had tossed to the side before the fight began and says, "And our bag's just fine this time, which is good, because Eve needs help."
"Right! Eve!" I yell. I turn to her and see that's she's still under, but her head and body are bleeding a little, and it gets worse when I remember that I was the one who did that to her.
We all dash to her side. I panic and find myself spitting out words, "She's going to be ok, right? She'll be ok? I didn't mean for that to happen, it was..."
Lucas puts his paw on my shoulder and says, "Don't worry. I think we still have a regular Reviver Seed in our bag, so she should be as good as new in no time."
My eyes tear up as I stay panicked and say, "But I did this to her. If it wasn't for you, she'd..."
I stop, and then cry. "What if she doesn't forgive me?" I ask. "What if I just ruined everything...AGAIN?!"
Lucas then hugs me, which is something that I can use right now. "Don't worry." He says. "She'll understand. Even if it takes some time, she'll know you didn't mean to do that to her. It was all an accident in the end."
I notice that he still has a small bruise on his arm. "Just because you messed up a little doesn't mean that it's over." He continues. "I can tell that you didn't think he would stop both me and the rocks, but I trusted that your plan would work, and it did."
I feel his aura calming down my aura as Sparks takes a Reviver Seed out of the bag and puts it in Eve's mouth.
"That oughta do it." He says as he closes Eve's jaw. She then starts to glow, and after a bright light shines around her, causing us to close our eyes, the only remains of her injuries is some dried up blood from her cuts.
She still, however, doesn't move. I stop crying, and instead start sweating. "Uhh, that did work, right?"
Lucas puts his paws on her. After a while, he says, "She's fine. I just think she's still tired out."
I let out a big sigh of relief. "Good, heh, heh."
"...", "...", "..."
"Now what?" I ask.
Sparks hops back on my head and says, "Well, I guess we go see the real Xatu, assuming if he is here, that is...man, it's been a long couple of minutes."
"That's for sure." Lucas says. "You two can go knock on the door. I'll stay here with Eve until she wakes up."
"Are you sure you don't want to see Xatu?" I ask my best friend.
He nods and says, "Yeah, I'm sure. It shouldn't take that long for her to get up. Besides, it's not like the door is that far away from us."
I turn and look at the door and see that a bunny hop should do the trick.
"Alright then." I say. I then take one, big leap towards the door.
"This is it. For real this time." Sparks says. He then looks down at me. "So, do you want to knock?"
"Sure." I say. I lift my hand up and take a deep breath. "Let's hope this works out."
*Knock* *Knock*
