A/N: Mackenzie is six in this chapter. Happy Halloween!

Early October

Lisa was sitting in her home office working when she heard movement at the door, she looks up to see Mackenzie. "Hi sweetie."

"Hi Mommy."

"Do I get a hug?" Lisa asks.

"Of course, Mommy." Mackenzie says as she walks across the room.

Lisa turns and reaches her arms out to Mac. "How was school?"

When they separate Mackenzie sits on the loveseat in Lisa's office. "It was okay. What am I supposed to be for Halloween?"

"I don't know Kenzie, what do you want to be?" Lisa asks.

"I don't know Mommy, that's why I asked you."

"Okay." Lisa chuckles. "Tell you what, after dinner we will look up some costume ideas. Sound good?"

"Yeah Mommy." Mac smiles.

"There ya are." Sonny says walking into Lisa's office. "Dinner has arrived ladies."

"What did you get Daddy?"

"You're just gonna have to get your booty downstairs and find out for yourself." Sonny tells Mackenzie.

"Daaaaddddd." Mac groans.

"No Ma'am, that ain't gonna work." Sonny shakes his head.

"It was worth a try." Mac says as she stands up from the loveseat.

Sonny looks at Lisa. "Do I even need to say this?"

Lisa narrows her eyes at him. "Don't go there Quinn." She turns to look at Mackinzie. "Should we go see what Daddy got us for dinner?"

"We should Mommy." Mac says walking towards Sonny.

"Alright Kenzie." Lisa says settling onto the sofa with her laptop. "Let's get to work."

"I want you and Daddy to dress up too." Mac declares.

"Is that so?" Sonny chuckles from the other side of the sectional sofa.

"Yes Daddy." Mackenzie tells him.

"Well, in that case, this better be a pretty cool costume." Sonny chuckles.

"Focus people." Lisa shakes her head. "We need to figure this out."

"I don't want to be a princess." Mac offers.

"Good, cause I don't either." Sonny laughs.

"We could be pirates." Lisa says.

"I don't really like pirates." Mac responds to Lisa.

"What about the flintstones or a cave family?" Sonny asks and can tell she is struggling to picture it.

"Here Kenz." Lisa says turning her laptop towards Mackenzie. "This is what Daddy means."

"Oh, I like that." Mac says scrolling through the photos.

"Option number one on the list. What else could we be?" Lisa thinks out loud. "We could be cheetahs or tigers and Dad could dress like he was on a safari." Lisa suggests.

"I don't know Mommy." Mac says not taking her eyes off Lisa's laptop as she scrolls. "Ooo an astronaut!" Mackenzie taps the screen.

"I could be okay wearin an astronaut costume." Sonny nods.

"So, we're all in agreement then?" Lisa looks at both Mac and Sonny and sees them nod. "Astronauts it is."

Halloween Night

"I swear, the things I do to make that little girl smile." Lisa says looking herself over in the mirror in her costume.

"It could be worse." Sonny chuckles coming to stand behind her. His hands glide from her hips to her butt. "But it does look damn good on ya."

Lisa turns to face him. "I'm glad you're enjoying this. We look like walking traffic cones in these orange astronaut jumpsuits."

Sonny pulls her against him. "Kenzie is happy, and we look fantastic. What more could we want."

"I can always count on you to try and make me not feel stupid." Lisa says before kissing him.

"Yes Ma'am." Sonny mumbles.

"Mommy, Daddy we look so cool." Mac says walking into Lisa and Sonny's room.

"Heck yes we do Kenz." Sonny says turning to look at her. "Ya excited to go tricker treatin?"

"So excited." Mackenzie smiles. "You know how much I love candy."

"That we do sweetie." Lisa chuckles watching her flop on the bed.

"In that case, let's head on over to Uncle Jason and Aunt Mandy's." Sonny says reaching his hand out for Mac to grab and pulling her to her feet.

"Yay Sophia." Mackenzie giggles as she bounces out of Lisa and Sonny's bedroom.

"To have that much energy again." Lisa chuckles watching Mac.

"Other than Christmas this is her favorite day of the year or have ya not heard her say that none stop for the last week or so." Sonny tells Lisa as he walks towards the bedroom door.

"No way I could have missed that." Lisa chuckles.

The three hop on the golf cart and drive the two blocks towards Mandy and Jason's house. "Daddy, look at that house." Mac points a house with a huge blow-up dragon in the front yard.

"Oh wow. That thing's almost as tall as their house." Sonny notes.

"Why don't we have one of those?" Mackenzie asks.

"Cause I feel like it's cheatin, all ya gotta do is blow it up. And that ain't decoratin if ya ask me." Sonny responds.

"Why do you care so much Daddy?"

"It's about pride in a job well done." Sonny chuckles.

"It's literally Halloween decorations Sonny." Lisa tells him as he pulls into the driveway of Mandy and Jason's.

"Ya ain't gonna rain on my Halloween spirit." Sonny tells her. "Can I get some back up her Kenzie?"

"Yeah Mommy, Halloween is the second best day of the year." Mac says very sure of herself. "And we have to have the best looking house so everyone is jealous of us."

Lisa shakes her head. "I don't like it when you two gang up on me."

"Now ya know how I feel." Sonny tells her as they walk into the garage.

"Sonny boy." Jason calls when he sees them.

"Hey Jace." Sonny responds.

"Astronauts?" Jason says looking between Sonny, Davis and Mackenzie.

"You're just jealous you don't look this cool Uncle Jason." Mac says before walking into the house to find Sophia.

"God they get more and more grown up every day." Jason shakes his head. "Remember when they were just babies?"

"It seems like just yesterday it was their first Halloween and now here we are, six years later." Lisa agrees.

"It really is crazy how time has flown." Sonny says.

"Beer?" Jason offers turning towards the refrigerator in the garage.

"Ya know we're always down for a beer." Sonny chuckles.

"Geeze Sonny, you make it sound like we have a drinking problem." Lisa laughs as she takes the beer from Jason.

"Problem? No. Just havin a good time? Yes." Sonny points the neck of his beer bottle at Lisa.

Lisa rolls her eyes. "Okay Sonny."

"Hello all." Mandy says walking into the garage. "How was the moon?"

"Just cause your kid doesn't force ya to dress up with her, don't mean we are that lucky." Sonny jokes with Mandy. "But I'd be lyin if I told ya I don't enjoy it. I know the days are limited that she is gonna wanna do this."

"That is true. The days are counting down until they think we are the most boring and unfun people in the world." Mandy agrees.

"Trust me. Those days are not far away." Jason tells them.

"I don't want to think about that." Lisa says.

"She's still gonna love ya baby." Sonny kisses Lisa on the temple.

"Daddy, Daddy." Sophia calls as her and Mac run out into the garage. "It's getting dark, is it time to go tricker treating yet?"

"Yeah, can we?" Mac adds.

"I suppose we could get headed that way." Sonny says looking between Mackenzie and Sophia. "Ya girls ready?"

"So ready Dad." Mackenzie tells him.

Sophia looks at Jason. "Are you coming with us?"

"Of course, I am sweetheart." Jason smiles. "Go get your candy bag and we will get going."

"Okay you two." Mandy says pulling her phone out of her back pocket. "You know we have to take a picture before you head off." The girls pose and Mandy snaps the pictures. "An astronaut and a doctor, prefect."

"Have fun girls." Lisa tells them. "We will see you in a while."
