A.N. Just a fun little one shot while I wait for S2 to come out from behind the paywall attempting to keep cable relevant.
Enjoy!
"Amity! You Made it!" Luz called, waving enthusiastically at her from where she was standing with Willow and Gus.
She smiled and waved back. "Yep, I made it." Luz ran up to her and pulled her into a hug. "It's, uh nice to see you Luz." She said, blushing like crazy as she pulled away. Thank goodness Luz was an absolutely oblivious witch. Less fortunately Willow was not, and would absolutely be teasing her mercilessly later.
She shook her head and looked at Luz. "Anyway, you said there was a new glyph you wanted to try?"
"Yeah! It was in an old oracle track textbook I found at the library! Maybe it will let us see the future!"
"We'll see Luz, oracle magic is generally pretty vague when it comes to the future." Willow said, smiling at their friend's infectious excitement. "Shall we get started?"
"Yeah!" Luz jumped forward and began drawing the new glyph in the dirt. It was a complicated one, and it had to be pretty large to fit all the details. By the time Luz was done with it all four of them could have stood inside if they squashed together.
Luz stood up and brushed herself off. "Alright! Who's gonna do the honors?"
"Well I did the last one, so that makes it Amity's turn." Gus said.
"You up for it Ami?" Luz asked her, making her blush, again.
"Yep uh, sounds good." She managed to stutter out over her crush. Get a hold of yourself Bligh.
"Awesome! Then Willow and Gus, you two get your shields ready and I'll be the spotter."
They all got into position. Willow and Gus in the back with their shields up, Amity in front ready to activate the glyph, and Luz behind her, ready to pull Amity behind the shields in case the glyph exploded again.
"Okay ready? Hit it!" Amity activated the glyph, Luz immediately pulling her back behind the shields. The glyph glowed brightly for a moment, and then something started to rise up from the ground. Or rather, someone.
Whoever it was began to solidify, turning from a glowing outline into a witch with a single green streak in her brown hair, wearing a pink dress and black studded leather bracelets. She looked, actually, she looked like a cooler and more mature version of Amity.
"So, this was today. Huh who knew." The older witch brushed herself off and turned to look at them. "Oh gosh, we were so cute!" The witch, who Amity was now pretty certain was an older version of her, laughed and whipped out her scroll to take a photo of them. "I can't wait to show this to Luz."
"So you are Amity then?" Willow asked.
"Yep, that's me, ten years older than little me here." She gestured to the glyph she was standing on. "This allows you to summon a future version of yourself to answer questions. It does have some limitations though. Each person is only able to use it once, and it only lasts around a minute. So I won't be able to use it again, and there's not a lot of time for you guys to ask me questions. So I'll just give you the answers I gave us last time."
She grinned and pointed to a ring on her hand. "Yes Gus, this is a wedding ring. Willow, yes it is who you think it is. Luz," her smile softened, "don't worry. You'll find a way home. And me, trust your friends. They'll have your back as long as you let them."
She smiled at them and bowed dramatically. "Adios kids! See you in ten years!" Then, with a flash of light, she disappeared.
Willow laughed and rolled her eyes. "Nice dramatic exit Amity."
Later, as the three friends walked home, Luz having headed in the opposite direction to return to the Owl House, Amity asked Gus a question that had been bothering her. "So Gus, what's a wedding ring?"
Willow nodded. "I was wondering that too."
"Oh yeah! They're a human thing!" Gus said excitedly. "When humans get married they give each other rings to represent love! Isn't that cool!"
"Yes," Willow smirked at Amity. "Very cool."
"Who knows, maybe Luz started a wedding ring trend in the Boiling Isles."
"Oh, I definitely think that Luz is responsible for Amity wearing a wedding ring."
Amity squeaked and Gus glanced at her. "You alright there Amity? Your face is really red."
