Luz landed outside the Owl House and put Eda down. She handed her the staff and Luz's hair, hands, and eyes returned to normal. Luz stumbled a little and seemed to have no memory of what happened (Which is a great read by the way).

"W-w-what's going on?" Luz asked.

"Do... do you not remember?" Eda asked, "Kid, you went off on my sister. You managed to beat her with a single punch. Is there anything you remember?"

Luz thought about it, trying to remember the last thing in her mind, when she started to hyperventilate.

"I... I died! I had a spike through my heart! How am I even here?!"

Luz frantically moved her arms around her chest, looking for blood or hole or anything that you'd expect from a giant spike going through your chest, but she found nothing, no blood, no hole, hell even her clothes didn't have anything wrong with them, if anything, they looked like they just came out of a washer and dryer.

"Eda, give me the portal." Luz said.

"Why?"

"Because there's someone I need to talk to." Luz said.

Eda had an idea of where this is going.

"Just give me a second, Kid, I have to grab something."

Eda went in and grabbed the cloak she made, a book, and reached into the cake and pulled King out.

"King, enough messing around, we're going to the Human Realm."

Eda opened the portal and Luz took off. Eda ran to catch up. Luz ran up to her house and knocked on the door, rapidly. Camila opened the door and was surprised to see Luz.

"Mija? What are you doing home from-"

"Stop. You've been hiding something."

Camila's eyes widened. She quickly ushered Luz inside. She was even more surprised that there was an older woman and her... dog (?) with her.

"Mom, this is Eda and King." Luz said, "I've... been living with them over the summer. She's... sorta... a witch."

"A witch? Mija, are you feeling okay?"

"Mom, enough of walking around the issue. You've been hiding something."

Luz's irises flash red, which made Camila drop the act.

"Luz, I haven't been completely honest with you." Camila said, closing the curtains, "You were born several months early, I was told you wouldn't make it. I couldn't allow you to just die, so I turned to something I never truly believed in... Dark Magic."

"Dark Magic? That was banished from the Boiling Isles years ago." Eda said.

"What's Dark Magic?" Luz asked.

"It's something that even I won't mess with. It one of the earlies forms of magic, one used before Glyphs were a thing." Eda explained, "You don't need a Bile Sac to use it."

Camila dropped a book on the table.

"I looked for something that could save you."

She opened to a page with a bird made of fire.

"A Phoenix." Luz said.

"When you were a kid, I used to tell you the story of the Phoenix. It was actually a spell to keep you from finding out who you really are."

"What am I?" Luz demanded.

"The spell I used, it managed to keep you alive, but it gave you the powers of a Phoenix. If you get stabbed in the heart, get shot in the head, anything like that, you will die and be reborn."

Eda butted in.

"This is where I come in." She said, "Kid, there's a legend in the Boiling Isles."

She handed Luz the book. Luz looked through it and saw a giant Phoenix fighting some kind of giant monster.

"Kid, you're the Phoenix, an all-powerful being, that is destine to save the Boiling Isles from Titan's Wrath."

"Titan's Wrath?"

"The end of the world." Eda said.

Luz just flipped the page and saw a girl with orange and red eyes, red arms, fire for hair and had the words 'The Phoenix' above it. Luz sat in stunned silence. In the Demon Realm, Belos was on the same page of the book.

"My Liege."

He closed the book and saw Kikimora.

"Yes, Kiki?"

"Lilith is here."

"Send her in."

Lilith came in and kneeled in front of him.

"I-I-I'm sorry, Emperor Belos, I failed again. I'm ready to accept my punishment." Lilith said.

Belos stood up and walked over to Lilith. He patted her head.

"There, there, Lilith. It would be unfair of me to punish you for failing. You weren't prepared to face a God." He said, "You shall have another chance."

"T-t-thank you, Emperor Belos."

"You have until the end of summer, a week before the Day of Unity, to capture the Owl Lady, get her portal, and ELIMINATE the girl."

"Y-y-you mean kill her?"

"You didn't have a problem with that earlier."

"It... I wasn't trying to kill her, I was just trying to make Edalyn use her magic."

"Regardless, you and Golden Guard will work together to achieve this." He began to walk back to his throne, "You may leave. I will tell your new partner of this."

Lilith left and Belos looked at the massive heart.

"Soon."
