Lex Luthor looked at the monitors in front of him, he had made sure that none of them were connected to anything that was infected, and the moment that any camera was discovered the computer would automatically isolate that part of the system from the rest of the network.
It was all gone, the world had ended there was no point in fighting the metahumans- the aliens and even those so-called gods and devils.
It was all gone, he had managed to save some people, but the truth was he had only bought some time, all it took was one drop of blood or an infected device.
The device didn't even have to be connected to anything, t just needed to show an image and if another device or living being looked at the image, then the device- person or animal was infected.
Leaving this dimension wasn't even an option, the last time he tried, he found himself in another world that was in even worse condition than this one.
He had tried more than once to open a portal to another reality, but it was pointless, either the worlds were in the process of falling or had already fallen.
He had more than one magical device he used to communicate with whatever magicians were left, but the devices were easily tracked y the infected that can use magic.
He had- had the pleasure of hearing the screams of magicians as the infected overwhelmed them and the people they were protecting.
He had searched for a solution and he had come to the only true answer left, he needed to leave the earth, but doing so would be a lot harder than it was before.
He had built several spaceships before, most were outdated, no, not anymore, if anything they were probably the most advanced pieces of technology left that weren't built by aliens.
"Luthor, I know you're in there," Deathstroke said to one of his cameras
Lex wasn't even surprised that the man survived, he was surprised to see how Slade looked well-fed and from the way his clothes looked, Lex deduced that the man must have had a bunker of his own.
"I'm here to make a deal with you"
"So here's the deal, you work with us and if you don't I kill you' Lex listened to Slade's words and he smirked, dying wasn't much of a threat when the world was ending
"Look, We're trying to get everything that's not infected, and let's face it this planets days are numbered, but you have a lot of technology that's not infected"
"Look, everyone and everything on this rock is something and someone that belongs here, that makes them one of us"
"Isn't that what you always wanted, for our species to thrive on its own"
"Well guess what, everyone that's left is one of us," Slade said to Lex
For a moment Lex stopped to consider the man's words but he dismissed them, even if Superman was dead, there were more people just like him, if just one of them managed to intercept one ship them
"We can protect those ships of yours, you have to make sure they get off this rock, and Luthor, this planet belongs to us so we aren't leaving it, we're just relocating our people somewhere else while we clean up this mess," Slade said to him
"Let's say I agree, how will we keep all of the extras from betraying us?" Lex asked Slade
'Eay, everyone else abandoned them
"The aliens don't have anywhere else to go, the magicians are dying out, and let's be honest if you could just go to another dimension, you would have done so already"
"No, everyone's best option is that we all get along," Slade said to Lex before showing him a white sheet of paper filled with what looked like rules
Lex smirked as he read what Slade showed him, collar and chains for the dogs, this meant that the metahuman's abilities would spread evenly amongst the regular human population, as well as whatever powers the extras had.
As long as there were always more humans than extras, humans would always be on top and would enjoy whatever inventions were made from now on.
The problem was, what would happen when those that abandoned everyone realized that everyone they left behind had managed to not only survive but managed to escape the planet.
"Look, off-world, the rules are the same, but everyone watches out for each other, down here everyone has their little kingdom because we have to," Slade said to Lex
'What if the heroes return to try and meet everyone, along with whatever people they rescued?" Lex asked Slade truth be told he already decided to agree to the man's terms, but he wanted to hear the man's answer
"Let them, how many people do you think are still going to see those bastards as heroes. Maybe the people and extras will see their loved ones as their loved ones, that doesn't mean everyone else will" Slade answered Lex
Lex didn't like that answer, humanity would be a divided race and that made them vulnerable to everyone else, so he would have to think of a way of improving relations between the two groups, but he was satisfied for now.
"Okay, I have the ships, we just need the destination and the people" Lex answered Slade
"Why don't you go visit the guy keeping the infected away, Dark Citadel," Slade said to Lex as a stone castle grew around the bunker and the entire area where Metropolis once was.
"Lex pressed a button and headed towards the exit, Slade didn't bother greeting him he just began to explain the bare minimum to him.
"This place belongs to you, don't move or let anything destroy the card. Before you ask, this place will keep the infected away and to travel from place to place just walk into the walls"
"Now, I still have a job to do, you handle the rest with everyone else," Slade said to Lex before walking away
Lex walked towards the walls of the citadel and he closed his eyes expecting to feel something, but when opened his eyes, he was surprised to feel the wind on his face and the smell of the sea.
