A/N: Hi. This is your first and only warning. Spoilers for Season 2 Episode 5 of ToH. If you haven't seen it, go see it you goober. And if you don't have cable, find a friend that does, beat them up and steal their cable box, because it's very important that you watch it. Ok enjoy the Lumity fluff.
"Why'd I do that?" Amity asked herself one last time as she closed the front door, and subsequently leant against and slid down it. She'd done either the dumbest or the smartest thing she could've thought of: she kissed Luz.
She couldn't stop herself; in that moment, Luz looked so beautiful and compassionate. After all that had happened that day, after everything she had just been through to get her her job back... Heck, she even tamed the Paper Dragon. Malphus had told her stories about it, and even she didn't want to mess with that thing.
But Luz did. She tamed the dragon and went through Malphus' trials and categorized those dang man eating books she hated.
Luz did all that, for her.
Being around Luz made her do stupid things, sure. But today's events made her realize that the feelings she had for Luz, that wasn't stupid at all.
That kiss, on the other hand...
"Didn't think you had it in you Mittens," Emira's voice was heard from the upstairs balcony. Amity looked up and saw her siblings leaning on the railing with their stupid smirks on as always, though they looked extra smug at that moment.
"You... saw..." Amity's face began glowing a bright red, though there was a lot of anger mixed in the usual embarrassment.
"Oh, we saw everything, sis," Ed said as they hopped over the railing, landing a few feet in front of their little sister. "I gotta say, you got guts."
"You... I'll kill you..." Amity snarled. She drew a spell circle, ready to summon an Abomination and turn her siblings into quadriplegics. However, before she could, they both put a hand on her shoulders.
"You did good, Amity," Emira said with a soft smile. That was weird. It almost sounded like she was giving Amity praise. She even sounded... genuine!
"Yeah, nice work, Mittens," Edric said with the same sincere tone, "better than I would've done, that's for sure."
Amity lowered her hands and smiled back at her siblings. Out of the moments they could've not been jerks, she was glad it was this one.
"Thanks, guys."
Emira nodded her head in Edric's direction. "Now c'mon, we still need to get this doofus ready for his da-Ed! I told you not to pick at it!" Em yelled at her brother.
"It itches!"
Emira grabbed Edric by the ear, leading him back to her room, but paused.
"Hey, Mittens," she turned back to her baby sister, "nice call on the hairstyle. I bet she's into it~"
There was the teasing Amity was expecting. However, she allowed it this time. "Y-you think?" she asked, sheepishly spinning her newly purple hair around her finger.
Emira didn't get a chance to respond, as another knocked rounded on the door.
"Ed..." Amity said cautiously, "is your date meeting you here?"
"No, I'm meeting him at the park." Edric replied.
Amity walked back to the door, praying that Ed's date had a change of plans. Unfortunately, when she opened the door, she saw Luz, that beautiful, compassionate and amazing girl that she had kissed on the cheek not two minutes ago.
"Luz! Look I... you didn't... I dont-MMM" Amity's nonsensical sputtering was cut off by a pair of lips crashing into her own. Luz's lips; Luz was kissing her.
"Woah," Edric and Emira said in unison.
As many questions as Amity had at that moment, they were drowned out entirely by the fact that her crush of several months was kissing her.
She didn't care that it was a bit messy, or that their teeth clacked a couple times, or that neither of them really knew were to put their hands. All that mattered to Amity then was Luz, the bravest, sweetest, prettiest girl she'd ever met.
Her Luz.
After a moment, though, Luz broke off from Amity, leaving the two of them blushing heavily and gazing into the others' eyes. It had only lasted about 5 seconds, but it felt like they'd been connected for an eternity.
Luz smiled warmly at Amity, and said, "I guess you snuck into my heart, too."
She started heading back out the door, but turned back just before she closed it.
"By the way, I love what you did with it. Purple's a nice color on you."
And with that, the door closed, and Luz was gone again. Amity, who had hardly moved a muscle since the kiss ended, was coming to terms with what just happened. She couldn't really pay attention to anything else, so when she started falling backwards, Edric and Emira were there to catch her.
"See? Told you she was into it."
Luz's beat red face was planted firmly in her hands as she walked away from Blight Manor. She had either done the smartest or the dumbest thing in her life: she had just kissed Amity.
As she replayed the event in her mind over and over, she kept asking herself the same question.
"Why'd I do that?"
A/N: I'm sorry, I couldn't help it. I couldn't just NOT write about that episode, I mean, c'mon. The Lumity ship has FINALLY left the harbor and its got a new Amity design on board to boot.
