It only took Spider-Man a few minutes to arrive at the Starbucks café. But as he feared Harley and Flash were nowhere to be found. With only a couple of onlookers still gasping as he landed near the shop. Peter however ignored them and scan the area over with the camera lens in his mask. But when he couldn't find any evidence of were his friends or teammate's went to. Peter made another call to his A.I.
'Sharon have you found were Harley and Flash are yet?' the asked
'Sorry Peter but I am still overlooking footages. However I am able track were the Goblin is headed to. Meaning that he is likely just as concern with rescuing Thompson as you are'
'Or to permanently silence him' Peter muttered bitterly as he then swung out of the cafe and now knowing he had to work doubled time to save his friend from both his rogue teammate and his enemy.
'Are you able to pinpoint were he is heading?' The web-hero asked and for once Sharon replied positively.
'Yes Peter. Going by the footage and satellite imaging. The goblin appears to be going to the warehouse north to downtown avenue.' Sharen explain while also showing the address through the installed monitors on Peter's mask lens along with a picture of the building.
'Thanks Sharen and hopefully if will be able to swing fast enough to-!?'
Before Peter could finish addressing his A.I. His spider-suddenly sense tingled. Forcing the hero to immediately swing out of the way in a instant. As a barrage of dozens of razor sharp tail feathers came right at him. Before landing and sticking to the side of a nearby building. Only to dodge out of the way again from a massive metal tail that nearly impaled him on the wall Forcing him to flip down to the ground.
But when he saw his assaulters. The hero quickly let out an groan upon recognizing who it was.
'Glad to meet you again Parker' Toomes said while circling around the hero in his red and black vulture suit 'Though I rather it be in more favorable circumstances'
'I don't have time to mess around you Adrian. My friend Flash is in trouble and I am not letting you get in my way!' Spidey rerouted in hast while Toomes nearly gave off a smirked.
'Oh believe me kid. Thompson is the last person you ever need to worry now. In fact…' the vulture paused as he readied his bladed wings.
'I think you should start worrying more about yourself!' The Vulture threaten while the scorpion jump down from building and join him. Much to Spider-Man's continued frustration.
Back at the warehouse.
Liz was on the edge of breaking down. As Harley grabbed her by the throat with his iron-gauntlet. Threatening to crush it to mush.
'I am tired of playing these games with you Eugene. Tell me what you know or you won't be speaking about anything else ever again!' Keener said coldly as he tighten his grip further. Which caused Liz so much pain she burst into tears. Yet for whatever will to fight she had left the disguised women continued to remain definite.
'I told you I don't know any-UGCK!' Liz tried to mutter but this only made the Iron-lad further tighten his grip and choke her.
'Really? you are really going into denial even wkith all the evidence piled against you!? Just what exactly does your father has on you!' Harley spatted in frustration while pulling the disguised Flash close to his face.
'Is it because your daddy dearest approval or did he threaten your life? Well either way I will make you talk Thompson. Even if I have to dissect you piece by piece!' The mad Iron-lad threaten and Liz her knew to growing horror that he would deliver on that promise.
However before she could rat herself out or go into further denial. Several beams heat suddenly shot through roof and pierced though all the iron-man suites that floated near the hero and then before Harley could register what happen. A figure came crashing through the wall from the back of the warehouse and slammed his fist at Harley in his metal plated face. Forcing the later to drop Liz to the floor and crashing into a nearby couple of crates.
In a daze Liz realized that the figure who saved her at the last minute was the real Thompson in his goblin form and despite his frightful demonic appearance. She couldn't help but feel relieved in seeing her boyfriend rescuing her from the crazed super-hero.
Flash then turn to face Liz and more then anything he wanted to ask if she was alright. But knew with Harley still around he couldn't blow his or her cover. So the best he could do was gently helped her up and look to see if she he was okay. Before going back to deal with the down Iron-lad.
'I…' Liz tried to speak up. But she too realized she needed to maintain her cover. 'Thank uh…don't you think we should leave?' she tried to ask. But the goblin shook his head sadly.
'No…sorry…Thompson but I have a target that needs to be dealt with and I want you get as far away from here as possible…please.' Flash said in a low yet somber voice and Liz can tell exactly from his tone on what he meant.
'…Okay' she said sadly before running out of the exist of the warehouse and as soon as she did Harley push aside the piles of crates on him and stared down at his newly arrived foe.
'So it would seem that the old crook still has a heart after-all. Shame how it is all misplaced by your own son!' The Iron-lad mocked. While the Goblin merely scold.
'Sorry my good Ironclad-gentleman. But I honestly have no idea what you are going on about. However whatever fate you believe that boy deserves. It most certainly does not involve him being crush to death by you…I alone reserved that right!' Flash boasted darkly in order to keep up his act and as a means of imitating Harley.
But the Iron-hero just chuckled it off.
'Oh so now you are playing the whole innocent act too Huh? Well whatever!' Keener shouted while readying his pulser blasters. 'I'll just beat out your confession too!'
The goblin then narrowed his eyes. Before readying his own flaming sword. 'Not before I burn you alive first!'
Meanwhile back to Spider-Man, scorpion and the vulture
'Oh okay usually I am alright with taking down multiple common enemies at once. But taking on two high level bosses at once. That's just flat out cheating!' Peter joked to himself even when was in the fight for his life.
Not only has his enemies gotten a lot better at fighting like the web-head, which was most likely due to training. But also with their added new tech. With the scorpion's new suit making him almost as agile and as fast as him. Along with the Vulture's manipulation of gravity making more in the air and more unpredictable.
But what was worse was if how they were working together.
For whenever Spidey tries to web-sling from the air the vulture shot blade feathers from his wings to cut them and when he was force to the ground he would soon attacked by the scorpion…while also dodging more razor sharp feathers from said Vulture at the same time
It was only his own honed timing and spider-sense that the web-crawler wasn't torn to prices by now.
'Come now Spider-Man. Surely you can do better then this' scorpion mocked as he stuck at Peter with another strike from his scorpion tail. With the hero narrowly dodging it. Along with a few more of the vultures feathers.
'I mean it's like you don't even want to win and save your friend!' The crook continued to mock. But the hero remain impassive.
'Oh let's just say, I rather save strength for those who actually deserve it and not to those I have already kick their butts once or in your case Mac. Thrice!' Spider-Man mocked back to his enemy which made the scorpion to growl.
'Don't let him get to you Gargan!' The vulture shouted out from the air.' he is just messing with you! Keep up the assault and we will wear him down eventually!'
'Yeah but that doesn't mean it is true' the spider said with a shrug. 'I mean you only gotten me on the ropes this much. Because you have grandpa buzzard here babysitting you all the way. Which was something that not even your personal army of goons or even your giant mecha scorpion could do!
Mac then spun a nerve. 'Oh shut up you brat!' He scream in hatred as he then lunged himself at Peter with one of his pincer claws. Which the web-hero then catch with one hand before immediately flipping the villain over and into the brick wall of an office building. Smashing through it. While Toomes could only sigh In frustration.
'Idiot' he muttered to himself before noticing that the scorpion already pulling himself out of the building and stared down hatefully at the wall crawler and immediately another idea form into Adrian's head and proceed to phone in on scorpion.
'Mac we are going it changed strategies for a bit. You keep Parker Occupied while I will keep trying to stab him through from the air' Toomes explained while while Gargan merely growled.
'You think that might make him shut up!?' the villain asked and the vulture huffs.
'Maybe enough to overwhelm that spider-sense of his if we continue our assault without pause and without getting ourselves distracted!'
Mac while angry at the stealth retort. Just sighed with an irritated sneer. 'Find whatever, let's just take that this stupid kid down already!' Mac shouted into his intercom before he lunged himself at the wall-crawler. With the web-hero once again dodging and evading every blow the scorpion throw at him.
Eventually the vulture saw his chance then Spider-Man grappled both of the scorpions pincer gauntlets and pin his stinger with his right leg. Though to was clear the The hero was struggling to keep the villain pin down.
Which was more then enough time for Toomes to pierce through his pray and soon enough began dive right at Peter. However to the confusion of the scorpion he realized that the hero was relaxing his grip. Which at first made him thought that his partner was finally over-powering the kid. But then Toomes though that Peter was just readying himself to jump out of his tackle in the nick of time. Having already seen through his ruse.
Yet none of those things happen.
Instead the vulture was slammed buy a massive force of gravity that sent him crashing into a whole row of cars and then went on bouncing across the pavement. Which in turn caused the scorpion to drop his jaw in shock…only for Spider-Man to then used the opportunity to jump out the way or another gravity blast that sent the crook right next to his partner on the street.
'Glad you can make in time Gravity! Spider-Man called and the other hero blushed.
'Hey the plan was to stick together whenever those bad guys came knocking. So I'm just following through on it…though it did kind of scared me a bit when I saw the vulture nearly gutting you!' The Gravity said in worry. But Peter just waved it off.
'Oh I wasn't worried because I knew you would have my back at the moment' Peter said then narrowed his eyes at vulture and the scorpion who getting off from the ground. 'And besides right now I need your help in taking theses goons down so that I can rescue my buddy'
'From The Goblin whose threatening him right?' Gravity asked and Peter's mood immediately soured
'Uh not exactly…but I will tell you when all about that once this fight is over!' The Spider promise to Gravity much to the latter's confusion.
However before The younger hero could ponder any further. Toomes and Mac were already charging at the two Avengers. Ready to fight once more.
