A/N: Greetings, mortal. The following story contains spoilers for Episode 5 of ToH's 2nd season. If you haven't seen that, stop what you're doing and watch it. I don't care if you're "at work" or something, just do it. Also, this is a continuation of "Why'd I Do That", as I believe that that's how TTLGR should have ended. Fight me.
"You did what?!"
"Do I really have to say it again..." Luz said to Eda, sheepishly poking her index fingers again.
"Say it again? Sister, I gotta hear the whole story!" Eda replied, leaning forward on the couch with her glass of apple blood.
Luz, who was seated on the opposite end of the couch, sighed, before speaking, "Well, we were watching this little chula," she pet the echo mouse on her lap for emphasis, "play some of Wittebane's diary, then Amity said something really sweet and... kissed me on the cheek." She covered her face, as she could feel it getting hotter by the second.
"And?" Eda nodded her head in anticipation, "Go on?"
"And I just sorta, fell." Her hands were off her face, now moving wildly and expressively. "I didn't know what to think or feel, I was just sitting there, thinking about how beautiful she is, and powerful, and sweet, and how her hair looks amazing, it's purple now, by the way, and she's just so amazing and compassionate and beautiful, did I say that already?"
"Yes, you did," Eda replied, as the mouse scampered away from Luz's fit and onto Eda's shoulder, "also, you're rambling."
"Right, sorry," Luz shook her head to get it back on track, "Anyways, I just kinda... sat there, thinking about everything, until it got to the point that I just couldn't take it anymore. So I got up, knocked on her door again, and she answered the door, and... y'know..."
Luz's face was indistinguishable from Eda's apple blood in color, which gave her a pretty solid clue as to what happened next.
"And then you kissed her, huh?" she said with a cheeky smirk. Luz nodded bashfully at this.
"I wasn't even thinking, I just... I never knew she liked me that way. I didn't think anyone liked me that way. I mean, I only found out I liked her, like, last week, when she saved me from an Abomiton."
"Abomi what now?"
"A big Abomination thing that Amity's dad made. It... kinda almost killed me." Luz cringed a bit, realizing she'd never actually told Eda what happened that day. Eda squinted at her.
"Ok, one," she raised a finger, "we're gonna talk about that later. And two," she raised a second finger, "would it happen to have gold armor and a big purple gem on it's chest?" Eda asked, sounding slightly concerned.
"Yeah..." Luz replied slowly, "why? Have you seen one?"
"Just... something I saw in the scrying potion Lily made," Eda waved her hand dismissively, "but, forget about that, let's get back to the juicyness." She leaned forward again, ready to hear more.
Luz chuckled nervously. "There... isn't much more to tell. I pretty much just did... that, and left."
Eda whistled I'm surprise. "Dang, girl, you got some guts. I'm gonna have to make a Bad Girl Coven badge for that, because you earned it." She made a finger gun at Luz, who just chuckled and looked away bashfully.
"Now you just gotta ask her on a date."
Luz's attention immediately snapped back to Eda. "A... date?" she asked, with a tinge of dread in her voice.
"Well, duh!" She threw her hands in the air, spilling a bit of apple blood. "Unless, of course, you just wanna sit on your hands, instead of getting into another smooch-fest with this girly."
"Please don't call it that," Luz deadpanned.
"You know I'm right, though."
Luz groaned for a few seconds, but finally responded, "Ok fine, you're right. I really wanna go on a date with her. And y'know what?" She stood from the couch with supreme confidence, "I'm gonna ask her tomorrow at school!"
"Yeah! Get it, girl!" Eda whooped at Luz.
"But... I need sleep first," Luz's shoulders dropped, her exhaustion evident. "I'm gonna call it a night." She started heading upstairs to her room, when she remembered what Eda mentioned earlier.
"Hey, Eda? What did you mean when you saw something in the scrying potion?"
"Oh... right. That." Eda almost sounded worried, and that worried Luz. She got up and grabbed the cauldron with the potion in it. "I was checking it a few hours ago, when I saw this."
Luz looked in the cauldron, and saw a hallway with guards in it, just like the last time she looked. However, after a few seconds, she saw something walk by. Something purple, hulking and clad in gold armor: an Abomiton.
Luz shrunk back slightly, remembering how that thing had her on the brink of defeat, and it was only with Amity's help that she survived. As it slowly reached the end of the hall, another one appeared behind it, walking the same path.
"They have two Abomitons?" Luz asked, worry now filling her voice, "but, I barely held my own against one!"
"Yeah, and here's the problem," Eda said dryly, "this is live, right now. They were still coming hours ago."
Luz paled. "You mean...?"
"They could have dozens of these things. All working for Belos." Eda growled, showing a mix of contempt and fear.
"Well, what do we do? We can't fight that many Abomitons, I don't even know Abomination magic!" Luz was pacing a hole in the floor, trying to come up with a plan. "What if there's a glyph combo for Abomination magic? Do you think you could help figure it out?"
"Kid, Abominations aren't exactly my specialty. Plus," she tried to draw a purple magic circle, only for it to cough and sputter comically, "I'm not gonna be much help there. But you know who would?"
Luz stopped in place, face beginning to glow again. She knew exactly where Eda was going.
"P-Principal Bump?" she unconvincingly guessed.
"Haha, no. I mean your little girlfriend, Amity."
Luz turned even more red at this. "I'm not- she's not- we're not-"
"You said she beat one of these, right?" Eda cut off Luz's sputtering to ask.
"Y-yeah," she brushed off Eda's comment, "well, almost. She held it off of us long enough to convince her mom to stop."
Eda scoffed at this. "Odalia, I knew she was a jerk, but her own kid? Jeez... well regardless, I think she's your best bet to get you started on Abominations. And if Belos is planning something this big..." she looked at Luz sympathetically, "you may have to put that date on hold."
Luz looked down, sombered. After all that deliberation, she'd finally convinced herself to ask Amity out. And now she'd have to wait. But at the very least, she'd still be spending time with Amity.
She looked back up at Eda. "Yeah, you're right. This is more important. I guess I'll ask her to help tomorrow at school." She turned again to head to her room.
"Night, Eda."
"Night, kiddo."
As Luz made it upstairs, Eda looked into the cauldron again, seeing yet another Abomiton walk by. She downed the rest of her apple blood.
"Damnit, Belos..."
A/N: Hoo, boy. I'm looking forward to writing this one. This will be about a three parter, so expect the rest coming pretty soon. I've also got more Colorblind in the tube, so look forward to that. Alright, now get out of my house.
