As Naruto trained with the pervy sage he was unknowingly like normal has the tenant watching whats going on and honestly both his tenant and him have been getting more and more tired of the bull he has been subject to sense he can remember and what the fox knows Naruto was subject to early on after Naruto's birth.
Which most honestly don't know about him aside from the fox is he has the cheerful stupid goofball behavior as a mask to hide how hurt he is inside and he has easily caught enough signs from the Pervy sage the guy had some kind of old reason to have been around him but blew it off for likely some spy network. So hes planning ways to guilt trip this old guy to keep teaching him, as sure he acts clueless but he's smart like a fox ironically enough as he acted dumb for so long so as to not seem like a threat to get less attacks and less hurt by the villagers and the few idiot ninjas that can't tell he is the jailer or jail and not the inmate ,then again a better one to say is can't tell the kunai to the scroll its sealed in.
Yet he through the guilt trip plan out the window as he oddly stayed more or less calm when he was tossed off a cliff yet he still was cursing the pervy Sage when he felt a pull and he showed up in what he assumed is his mind and let out a dry laugh''I've heard of you're mind is in gutter but really my mind scape a sewer ?''Naruto already decided to read up on how to change a mind scape as he has no desire to keep his mind scape a sewer
Still as he walked he blinked when he came across a giant set of bars with a seal''So um Fox you got a name I can call you? I'm sure you know my names Naruto Uzumaki its nice to meet ya but um can I have some of your chakra so I can kinda not die at the bottom of a ravine I was tossed into by the Pervy sage?''
Kurama saw Naruto approach her cage, she could see the fear in his eyes and smirked big behind the bars. "Kid, Come closer..." She said as she tried to grab him through the bars. "I want to devour you, but this gate will not open. It is a detestable seal." She ignored his comment as she watched his reactions to seeing her for the first time. "Why did you come here boy...?"
A muscle twitched behind Kurama's eyes as she heard what Naruto said. The whole village has hated and despised him for what she did to the village, and it wasn't even her fault. Hell, wouldn't you be pissed after you just got released from someone elses control... But the village had finally started treating him a little better. Now someone supposed to be Naruto's teacher throws him off a cliff! As much as Kurama would hate to admit it, she had grown to be kind of protective of the boy, sure she wanted out of him...but she lived with the boy since he was born...she kinda viewed herself as his step-mother. She may have hated Kushina but she wasn't the worst host that she had ever been in and this boy, Kushina gave her life for when she tried to kill him.
"I will give you my power boy, consider it a gift for coming here on your own. But also consider this...what if you could have a family again? Someone to be there at home waiting for you with a meal and a hug? Think about it and when your not falling off a cliff, come find me again..."
"And for now you can call me Kurama..." she said with a smirk as Naruto was pushed out of his mind scape. This boy has never stopped amazing her, she was interested to see what would happen.
Most of this day was as one would expect impressing the boss summons of the toad contract and then passing out yet despite all that Naruto had keep the unspoken offer in the back burner of his mind sure he was taught Kurama is a force of nature and a beast among other negative things but he never believed the later things said about Kurama .
After all their has to be good reasons behind why Kurama is like how she is and he has a very good feeling the unspoken offer is true so on his own right before he passed out had on his own entered the mind scape and blinked at how it changed sense he first willingly came here on his own''Kurama you awake? If I'm disturbing you sorry''Naruto does feel the need to be polite and nice to Kurama as the Fox is surprising nicer then most villagers and Shinobi he has meet in the leaf so he felt he should be nice to Kurama for that''But um what were you getting at with the unspoken offer?''
Kurama smiled when she heard the echoing foot steps and splash of water of Naruto walking towards her again. She honestly didn't think she would be seeing from him again. She rested her muzzle on her paws behind the gate and watched as the boy entered the room. His politeness something that always threw her off guard, no matter what someone did to the boy he still always tries to find the good in them... "Surprised to see you back her so soon boy...get thrown off another cliff again?"
Kurama raised an eyebrow at the boy. He actually had been considering her offer, that was not something she really expected. She had thought she wouldn't see him again till he wanted more of her chakra.
"I have seen you grow up boy, I've been with you since the very beginning and I saw the life you have been living because of me inside you. I have seen all the hate and malice the village has shown towards you. I saw you gain your friends, do your best to prove yourself, saved you when Saskue got hurt..." Kurama stopped and watched for a reaction before continuing "And Then you get thrown off a cliff by the Pervy Sage...for training..."
''Ha ha very funny for your information I made a deal with the toad boss I won I think right before I passed out''Naruto though wasn't that disrespectful more of a blunt stating facts after a poor joke directed at him
Kurama's statement though on seeing him grow over the years it made Naruto honestly tense at that as sure he understood the fact Kurama would either be sleeping day dreaming or watching either dreams,nightmares,memory or current happenings its still not a comforting matter to know his past thoughts was true.
''Yeah I wish I could pound the guy for that little stunt ''Naruto grumbled on the last tidbit of the Pervy Sage methods
''Whats the catch? I know enough that their must be some catch to this offer''Naruto wasn't being rude but after reading about the Edo Tensei in the forbidden scroll of sealing and all the fiction he has read he is genre safely enough to not blindly agree to a deal to have a parent or parents in this manner before he knows most if not all the details to this deal
"Congratulations little one, and no doubt you're one of many people who want to pound pervy sage for one reason or another." Kurama smirked, well at least the boy wasn't as easy to sway as she hoped. She wouldnt have expected anything less from HIS son. "I never said that I would give it for free...speaking of freedom...that is the cost...You want a family and I want my freedom. You give me my freedom, and I will give you the family that you wanted..." She wondered how Naruto would take her request, she knew at the very least that the Pervy Sage would have told the boy a bit about the fox and how removing the seal wouldnt be the best decision for the boy to make.
However, Kurama still held an ace in the hole, she knew what had happened all those years ago, she knew who Naruto really was, who his family was, and the big secret that Sandaime Hokage and even Jiraiya had been keeping from the boy. She decided to sweeten the deal by offering something that she knew would be hard for Naruto to pass up. She said with a smirk. "...and I will give you the truth that everyone has been keeping from you...the truth about who your family was and what happened..."
''But wouldn't freeing you cause me to die?''Naruto asked but still reaching for the seal as its clear Naruto hates his current life but does have people he loves and cares for which they return yet Naruto doesn't believe everything he is told by people so he isn't taking the 'Free the fox and you die' things as total truth as hes pretty sure doing it of your free will or maybe some linage would let you live as so far he can sense no lies from Kurama as of yet.
''I already figure I'm the 4th Hokages son unless I'm one of those rare look-a-like cases that spring up now-and-again as either I'm his son or a natural look-a-like''Despite Naruto saying that and showing willingly hes not as dumb as he acts its easy to tell he picked up the pace trying to reach the seal but its too high to reach''Um Kurama could you um set your paw down and lift me with one of the claws?''Naruto asked having nicely'' The seal is kinda too high to reach on my own.''Naruto said clearly not kidding
Kurama chuckled. "You are only partially correct little one, if I was to be forcefully removed from you, it would be the stress of the removal procedure that would kill you." The fox watched the boy as he headed towards the cage and raised her eyebrows at his next statement. "You are correct but dont know the whole story...of what your father and mother did and what the Third hokage did to you... After you free me I will tell you of your family and your birth..."
Kurama watches the boy walk over to the cage, trying to figure out how to give up to the seal on the cage. She smiles at his request and holds out a paw for him to step onto and then raises him up level with the paper seal. Not yet telling him there was more behind the seal that was going to give them trouble. But she would let him know about the next steps afterwards.
Naruto hopped onto the claw of the paw and once on it soon enough at the seal he started to pull it as hard as he can but its coming slow centimeter by centimeter as despite pulling with all his might well the seals strong at least.
Kurama watched with bated breath as the boy removed the paper seal, however it only revealed the true spiral lock to the cage. Kurama smiled as Naruto finally ripped the seal completely off, she was going to have fun with this. "Unfortunately you don't have the key...but with that seal removed...it's time to break the lock...forgive me if this hurts, you're going to have to want this seal to open or this is going to really hurt...but it will only last for a moment..."
Kurama backs away from the gate, braces herself, and gathers the chakra for a tailed beast bomb and compresses it down to the size of a marble. She launches it straight at the center of the lock where it stops, pushing against it. The manifestation around them starts to shake and shudder. The lock started to bulge and crack before finally shattering as the gate opened.
Naruto had watched interested on what Kurama was doing but backed up not sure what was going on yet wasn't going to risk letting himself get smacked by the gate when it opened so when the tailed beast bomb was launched not that he knew what it was but he figured breaking a seal in a mind scape meant to hold you would still take alot of force and he really does want the gate to open so long as Kurama isn't going to needlessly harm others anyway
Yet he was shocked at all the pain he was feeling as he doubted it'd hurt so much that to keep from screaming he was squeezing his hands so tight while hunched over on his knees to the point his fingernails was piercing his hands and he now was waiting for Kurama to uphold her end of the deal
Kurama stared at the boy on his knees in pain, it was tempting to break her deal and just attack the boy. It would be easy to just kill him and take over his body. But she did make him a deal and he did release her...it also didn't hurt that she did truly think of him as her child "I believe that I promised you the truth, so you're going to want to listen up..." She took a few steps closer to him before familiar chakra chains reached out from the walls and trapped her as she searched the area around them.
"KUSHINA! I didn't think that I would ever run into you again...!" she yelled out as a Red haired Konoha ninja appeared behind Naruto. "Looks like Yondamie Hokage and you had some last tricks up your sleeves to help your son from beyond the grave. But even I was surprised that you decided to put this burden on him on top of leaving him without a family..." Kurama decided to rub it in a bit of what she succeeded in making Naruto do. "However now thanks to him...my seal has been broken and I can do what I please..."
Kushina looked at Kurama and then to Naruto who seemed to be in pain and back to the broken gate. This wasn't how things should have been...Minato was supposed to have talked to him already, she was supposed to be here when Naruto was trying to control the Kyuubi.. "WHAT DID YOU MAKE HIM DO KYUUBI! WHAT LIES DID YOU PUT INTO HIS HEAD! ANSWER ME DATTEBANE!" Kushina yelled at Kurama, her hair flying around and her eyes white with anger.
Kurama laughed loudly, shaking the area around them. "Let me spell it out for you, Naruto removed my seal. He would rather take his chances with what I offered him instead of being ABANDONED by his parents, left alone to grow up with the whole village hating him and then to top it off, after he starts making progress and making friends, HE GETS THROWN OFF OF A CLIFF BY THE PERVY SAGE IN THE NAME OF TRAINING!"
Kushina tightened the chains around the fox, smashing her into the ground, but the comment about abandoning Naruto stung her as she looked away for a moment. "ME AND MINATO LOVED NARUTO! WE DID WHAT WE DID FOR HIM! TO GIVE HIM A FUTURE!" She walked past Naruto and to the Kyuubi and looked like she was going to punch him six feet under. "WHAT COULD YOU POSSIBLY GIVE TO HIM!? YOU JUST WANT YOUR FREEDOM!"
The fox roared at Kushina and pushed against the chains, managing to stand up, although barely. "I HAVE LIVED HIM WITH HIM HIS WHOLE LIFE! I was there for all of his firsts, his good days and bad days, his graduation from the academy, and all the nights he cried himself to sleep, calling out for his parents! I WAS THERE WHERE YOU WEREN'T!" Kurama glared at the woman.
"WE..." Kushina went to yell back at the fox for what she said but she didn't have any sort of come back. She was right, right about everything. Her and Minato did what they thought was best...
Kurama knew she had hit the right nerve. "I am willing to give Naruto what you and Minato failed to do...I will give him a family. I have lived with the boy his whole life and watched him grow up. It is hard not to at least slightly think of him as my kit..." She waited for a response and when she got nothing she continued. "I promise I will take care of your son...I can even give him back his mother..."
The Red Hot-Blooded Habanero didn't know what to say. The chakra chains slowly relaxed their grip. "Wha...what are you going to do..."
Naruto after abit rose up and looked at the woman that had showed up''Kurama didn't make me do anything or lie'''Naruto took a deep breath''LET HER GO LADY ''Naruto yelled at Kushina as well even if Kushina is his birth mother he has no honest bonds to the woman that he can remember so its easy enough to yell at her as much as he regrets yelling at a girl or woman
''And even if she had lied its too lonely and hate filled to not take this chance especially when my only friends and pseudo family are,Kurama now, afew goof offs like me,Jiji or the third Hokage,Jiji's grandson who's just started the academy,A Academy instructor,Tenchi and Ayame of Ichiraku Ramen ,my Jonin instructor who's often late seems to show favoritism and my two team mates. ''Naruto was worked up into a mess of emotions as he held himself how Kurama would know from Third person memory however the hell that feature of the mind scape is possible is still strange anyway he's holding himself as he does when he's very upset too much to not be able to keep up the mask of happiness up any longer
'' Wondering if my parents abandoned me for at first if something was majorly wrong with me then when I knew about Kurama if it was for the sealing,most of the village hating me which I thought was do to something very wrong about me till a insane traitor blabbed that I had Kurama sealed in me. DO YOU CALL THAT A FUTURE WORTH LIVING LADY? ''Naruto ended with that last bit screamed but its clear he had that pent up inside for a long time
Kurama looked at Naruto when he started yelling at Kushina, that was not something she thought he would do when he ended up first meeting his mother. She looked back to Kushina to see her reactions, this also probably caught Kushina off guard as well.
Kushina winced at Naruto's comments, she never thought that this was how her son's life would have turned out. Her and Minato wanted him to be viewed as a hero in the village, how did Sarutobi let his all happen to her son! Kushina's fists clenched in rage. "That's not how it was supposed to be Naruto...the Kyuubi got ripped out of me shortly after your birth by a masked man and went on a rampage in the middle of the village. Your father, Minato was able to get the fox away from the village but something had to be done to stop her. Me and your father were able to trap her but she still needed to be resealed in someone. I told Minato to seal her back in me, I was going to die soon anyways because of the extraction. At least then they would have time before the Kyuubi was reborn. But your father wanted to make sure that the village would be safe, and more importantly that YOU would be safe. He used a deadly sealing jutsu to take away half of the fox's chakra at the cost of his life and he was going to seal the other half in you..." Kushina took a breath, her voice starting to shake a little. "We couldnt stop ourselves...Kyuubi tried to kill you and prevent the rest of her from being sealed...we both jumped infront of her claw and..." She couldnt finish... "You were supposed to be a hero for saving the village and keeping the Kyuubi contained. Minato told Sarutobi to make sure that their was no resentment against you that you were the jailer keeping everyone safe, not the prisoner...I guess that people were not able to let go of the past...but they should not have taken it out on you little one...I'm sorry that all of this happened to you Naruto...I'm so sorry..." Tears slowly started falling down Kushina's face.
Kurama turned away slightly at the story...she was the one responsible for taking away his parents in her blind rage...and after seeing him grow up, it was one of her biggest regrets...the old man would be so disappointed in her...
''I-I'm sorry I yelled at you its just...''Naruto never finished as he hugged Kushina then and then tried to get Kurama over''Hey Kurama get over here please...''Naruto is clearly still upset but trying to calm down and maybe put up his mask again '' You're family too and seems to need a hug as I don't blame you mom or Dad''Naruto called to Kurama seems Naruto sees Kurama as family truly, well this might through the two for another loop
Kushina was speechless when Naruto hugged her, she smiled slightly and looked down at her son, all grown up. "Its OK sweetheart, don't worry about it..." She said as she rubbed his back, and she loosened the chains around Kurama.
The fox stared at the ground for a bit and didn't move, even after Kushina removed the chains. Eventually she walked over to the two and rested her muzzles next to them. "I'm going to make things right for you Naruto, at least as best as I can..." She looked over to Kushina and saw her slowly starting to fade away as the little chakra she had sealed in Naruto was being used up.
Kushina looked down at herself as she felt herself start to slowly fade, her time was running out, she looked to Kurama. "Kyuubi please... take care of my son..." She looked back to Naruto and held him close as she kissed the top of his head. "I love you my little Naruto..."
"Don't worry Kushina, I promise I will look after him..." Kurama replied right before she thrust her claw right through Kushina, and it almost seems as if she has betrayed her. Kushina's remaining chakra was sucked into Kurama as she started shrinking. She kept getting smaller until she started taking human shape, she finally took form and ended up looking like Kushina, though her hair took on a color making nine unique streaks resembling tails in her hair.
The fox looked over herself and then to Naruto before she pulled him into a hug. "It is time for you to go to bed Naruto-kun..." Kurama said as she formed a few handsigns behind his back and watched as Naruto passed out and left the mindscape. She had some work to do before morning. In Naruto's apartment, Kurama materaized next to the sleeping Naruto. She looked at him and smiled and she tucked him into bed. Time to adjust reality...Kushina just couldnt magically appear again... Kurama stepped out onto the balcony of Naruto's apartment and looked around at Konoha... Time to make some adjustments...She gathered her chakra and formed seals before releasing a massive and very powerful genjutsu over the village, very similar to what Tobi wanted to do with his eye of the moon plan. The village would view her as Naruto's mother, as if she had never died, it would also have them back in Naruto's original house, which had remained vacant since the incident.
Kurama quickly went to work with clones and cleaned up the old house, moved everything over from Naruto's apartment. After it was all done, there was nothing left but to wait until morning...it was going to be her first day as a mother...
Naruto was out could and really he could practically sleep through a tailed beast bomb explosion in as deep of sleep he is in a combination between him having passed out from exhaustion and the justu cast in the mind scape as well as the mental stress of all of what went on in his mind scape. So really if Kurama wants to wake Naruto in the coming day its going to be tricky. Besides Kurama will need to somehow also factor in people who was out of the village to get them under this screwing-the-rules-genjustu
Still Kurama should be thankful Minato's old childhood clothes was stored in this house as those old practically trash clothe Naruto has isn't in any shape a mother would allow their kid to wear so Minato's old childhood clothes will need to do till shopping is done for the coming day
Kurama stared at the moon for a while, thankful that it was the full moon, giving a boost to her powers, drawing on the old man's gift to her and the other biju. As she pulled on energy from the moon and nature around her and cast one more jutsu using herself as the medium. It would help not only reinforce her genjutsu she cast on the village but would help put anyone else who saw her with Naruto under it as well.
The fox was drained after using a good portion of her chakra to cast the genjutsu. She first headed into Naruto's bedroom to check on him and saw that she left him sleeping still in his day clothes. She smiled and then made quick work getting the boy out of the clothes and into some PJs. She tucked him back in and kissed his forehead. "Sleep well my little kit, mommy loves you" Kurama then left the room, quietly closing the door and fell asleep in her new bedroom. Tomorrow was going to be a very interesting day, her first day of true freedom and her first day as a mother...
Come about 1 pm a startled sound of surprise from Naruto range out in the house confused where he's at and thinking he might have been kidnapped as sure he's not that dumb but he just woke up your mind while not in full gear would make you think out nonsense or stupid ideals or reasoning at least well that and he wet the bed he hasn't done that for years heck that odd dream was crazy as well about some red head and Kurama arguing among other things like his out burst
Kurama was in the living room reading a book when she heard the commotion from Naruto's room. She thought about waking him up eairler but felt that she diserved a good nights sleep after what she put him through. She set the book down and headed down the hall to Naruto's room, as she did a smell started to fill her nose. Kurama couldnt place it at first but knew exactly what it was once she saw her little one in the very wet bed. "Good morning sleepy head, how is my little one doin... Oh sweety did you have an accident?" The fox said with love and concern as she walked over to the side of the boy's bed.
Naruto blinked at the voice and was about to call the person crazy till he swiveled around and seen the Kurama in the form from what he seen in his mind scape before passing out and for the first time he can remember sense the Third game him that apartment when the Third couldn't reasonable split work with caring for Naruto nor make it seem like the leader is playing favorites with civilians, Naruto was sheepish and feeling bad he wet the bed leading to a he sniffle''Yes''
Kurama smiled as she took a seat on the edge of the bed. She pulled Naruto into a warm embrace, his head ending up resting on her chest, and started to rub his back. "Its okay my little kit, it was just an accident. You can go get cleaned up and then I will make some breakfast for us. How does that sound?" The fox looked down at the ninja with a caring smile and waited for his response. She figured she would let the boy take care of himself instead of cleaning him herself. He was still a ninja and she didn't want to embarrass him more by making him feel like she was babying him.
Then again Naruto has been starved for physical affection he might just welcome it but its wise to take it slowly so as not to overwhelm Naruto as he clearly was reluctant to brake the embrace but he did'' You can cook? Truly? ''Naruto wasn't trying to be rude as given what is taught about the Tailed Beasts it makes them sound like well more beast like then human like and Naruto really is looking forward to having a warm truly home cooked meal as his Jiji or rather the Third Hokage even when caring for Naruto had been hopeless at cooking much of anything so even then it was either take out from different places or pay someone to cook for them the latter option tended to result in Naruto being attempted poisoned by the cook so it was simpler and less trouble to do takeout do to that
Kurama smiled. "Contrary to what people think they know about us tailed beasts, we were originally free to do as we pleased and did co-exist with humans. It was only when we started being hunted for our powers that we started defending ourselves." She went silent for a moment, remembering the attacks that made the beasts split themselves up and try to find a place to be alone. "...But yes, I can cook" She chuckled at Naruto's curiosity, the world was a difference place from when Hagoromo-san was around. The fox stood up and started to leave the room, wondering when Naruto would realize they weren't in his apartment, probably when the shock of his accident wears off. "Just put your wet PJs and sheets in the laundry basket in the hall and I will clean them later. I'm going to go get breakfast started sweety."
Which would be soon as when he was alone he stripped to his boxes and stripped the bed as well as afterwards doing from memory putting some medical powder on then turning the face up side of the mattress to be on the box springs and first depositing the clothes and linen in the laundry basket after which he went to shower this is when e noticed they are not in his apartment as the bathroom is in too good of shape and the hot water is hot not barely lukewarm yet he figures after the shower he'll ask why they aren't in his apartment so with spare clothes off to the side by the sink and his night boxers on the floor to be picked up after the shower
Kurama heard the shower start to run and grabbed the basket from the hallway, making a quick stop to grab the blond boys boxes from the bathroom floor, and heading to the little laundry nook, starting up the wash. After she got the wash going she went to the kitchen and started prepping everything for breakfast. The fox ends up deciding to make pancakes and sausage and makes the pancakes in the shape of chibi foxes. She sets up two place settings at the table and pours some orange juice for the both of them.
Surprising Naruto once down with his shower and all that's related darted into the kitchen and his first question wasn't about why they aren't in his apartment but a question he probably doesn't realize is rude to ask a woman ''How old are you Kurama? Someone as amazing as you must be like a person who's sage age atleast''Ironic if not somewhat funny working for anyone or thing in the know to have a tailed beast referred to as Sage age given it was the Sage of Six Paths that had brought the Tailed Beasts into being still its rude to refer to a woman as old so this could be Kurama's chance to give a lesson a mother gives their child about politeness to woman.
Kurama turned around when Naruto came into the kitchen. "Morning sweety..." A muscle twitched behind Kurama's eye as Naruto asked his question and she felt Kushina feeling angry as well. "WHAT DID YOU SAY, DATTEBANE!" Kushina's catchphrase slipping into Kurama's speech. In true fashion to when Naruto would say the wrong thing infront of Sakura or when Kushina was angered when she was around, Kurama brought a fist down on the blond boys head, not enough to do any real damage, but enough to get the message across. "You do NOT ask a lady their age, nor do you call them old little one! My age doesn't really matter, but I have seen many things" Kurama said as she pulled Naruto into a hug and kissed his forehead. "Now, I made pancakes and sausage for breakfast. Take a seat and we can enjoy the food..." She replied as she took her own seat at the table.
