Yu Narukami was pleasantly surprised when everyone had gathered in Dojima's place. Although he was nervous about what he did next. Before his close friends and families was a petite girl who looked akin to a first year in middle school.

Ayane Matsunaga had never expected to see the famous clique Yu had boasted and talked about in person. She knew about Yosuke, the scion of Inaba branch's Junes manager. Chie, the athletic tomboy of Inaba. Yukiko, the heir of the Amagi Inn. Kanji, the gifted stuffed doll maker. Rise, the pop-idol sensation. Teddie, the boyish blonde and mascot of Junes. Naoto, the detective princess. Marie, the mysterious weather girl. Dojima-san, Yu's uncle. And Nanako-chan, Yu's cousin and his adorable little sister.

She could not believe she was among these great people, whose future looked absolutely blinding to her.

"So, Sensei. Who is that girl?" Teddie started with a smile on his face. "Could she be the star of today's meeting?"

"Quiet down," Yosuke reprimanded as he smacked Teddie's ignorant head. Clearing his throat, he passed the metaphysical mic back to Yu. "Alright partner, it's all yours."

Yu nodded, appreciating Yosuke's kind gesture.

"I'll say it straight then," Yu said, confidence brimming in his voice. "Her name is Ayane Matsunaga; she is my girlfriend. I want to make it official for the both of us."

Instantly, everyone's eyes turned toward Ayane. They were wide-eyed and their mouths were either hanging or shut and frowning. It was not vices that blindsided them, for it was the sheer surprise that caught them off guard.

Though Yosuke had an inkling and suspicion, he didn't know that she was actually his girlfriend. It was unexpected for Yu, of all people, to like a petite and demure girl such as her. Then again, it partially explained how he had never been into the girls in the team. Yosuke thought he was adhering to the bro code, but apparently, he just had a different, yet refined taste.

Chie took it rather well, though it seemed a truck had slammed her frozen stiff at present. Maybe it was a mix of surprise and curiosity that sneaked her peripherals. Then again, she was never good at looking at anything beside her goals. It would make sense that she was no good at discerning what Yu was searching for as his ideal girlfriend. The girl beside him was tiny. A bit taller than Nanako, but she looked no older than three years Yu's actual age, and he looked as mature as a grown and healthy young adult!

Yukiko did not know what to say. She had nothing to say, especially with how adamant Yu looked in his declaration. She recounted the times when she would pine her interest on him, but now that she had grown out of that romantic interest she could only congratulate them in earnest. There was nothing else she could say, especially when Ayane looked so domesticated and refined. If Ayane had been a bit older-looking, akin to your average teenage girl, she ought to surpass her in beauty. In terms of hidden beauty, Yukiko could appreciate Yu's taste in women, for he had found what she had considered a flower that bloomed deep in the mountains. Even she had to stave off her jealousy, just long enough for her to accept his decisions.

Kanji was whistling. Not like a wolf, but like a bird; it was in adoration. He knew his senpai was amazing, but he did not know he was this amazing. He knew full well how talking to a girl, and being accepted, was harder than trading punches and kicks. Now with a new respect for his senpai, Kanji couldn't help but analyze Ayane in his own way. She was cute, like a small cub, or a single sunflower shorter than the rest. In her own ways, she looked both frail and fragile, but stubborn and strong. Then there was the air of warmth and kindness in her, as if she smelled of forest leaves basking in morning dew.

Rise couldn't help it. She was both furious and confused. Her mouth was open and her eyes were wide-eyed, truly unbecoming of a bubbly girl she had created as her image. She was this close to losing it, but before she snapped, a single feeling welled up inside her, telling her that she was making a mistake. A huge mistake. So she calmed herself, took a few deep breaths, and gave the couple a wide smile. If Yu had decided, then so be it. She just had to double, no, triple her efforts in enticing and capturing him for herself. If Ayane didn't treat Yu right, for example, or if their relationships had failed at one point, though it would be rude and uncouth, she had planned to claim Yu back for herself.

Teddie, the madman himself, whistled uncontrollably like a wolf. Shouting various sultry sentences that made Yosuke smack his mouth shut. Clearly Yosuke was not having the stupid bear ruin it with his incessant shouting. Now, with a wounded cheek, he apologized for the disturbance he had caused, prompting Ayane to concern herself with him. Teddie could only blush as he sheepishly smiled at her, accepting Ayane as Sensei's girlfriend.

Naoto knew from the start that romance was never in her favor, though she did try to claim Yu for herself, but if it was not to be, then Fortuna would never let it be. She resigned herself from that game of cat and mouse, as she opted to accept defeat as calmly as her heart could. True that his existence would be irreplaceable, but if they would still be friends and kept in contact with each other then she had nothing to fear except death itself. She had to tip her hat, though she did not wear one at present, to the couple for calmly letting their secrets out with her full attention and respect.

Dojima was half-attentive, but even he knew the gravity of this situation. He was not part of the clique, but he was part of Yu's life; his adventures in Inaba. With all due respect, he should approve of their open relationships and convince his sister to accept them too. But for now, he should look forward to what they would bring in their relationships. Maybe he should give them a present soon to commemorate their big reveal.

Nanako was astounded, completely lost for words, and unsure what to say in this situation. Ayane did not look that much older than her, but her big bro said she was a highschooler, and that completely threw her off the loop. There was a misunderstanding brewing within Nanako, though she did not understand what came out of her mouth herself.

"Does this mean I have a big sister?" She looked at Yu, who was nervous about his reply. "Is she my big sis?"

And to that Ayane beamed like a sun, walked toward Nanako who was sitting on the couch, and said with her utmost sincerest reply: "I will gladly be your big sis, Nanako-chan!"

Ayane grasped Nanako's tiny hands, reassuring that she did not misunderstood Ayane's intention.

And to that Nanako grinned from ear to ear and shouted happily.

"Yay!"

With that, a day passed peacefully in the Dojima Residence.
