Originally, I planned to write a sequel and expand the story into bigger series but my disillusionment with MCU and 'Black Widow' film and how mishandled the Disney+ series were honestly killed my desire to write a sequel. While I would like to write Oliver/Natasha in the future, it would not be a continuation of this story anymore. I knew that 'Black Widow' film wouldn't be as good as The Winter Soldier or other great MCU films but I'd hoped it would be good enough, while the action was good and Nat's and Yelena's banter was fun to see, I disliked that Natasha had secret family prior to the Avengers, which just cheapens her relationships with Clint and his family and her other Avengers friends and don't get me started on how they handled the other Black Widow stuff, Dreykov or Taskmaster. At first I considered just doing things differently but the end of the first season of 'Loki' just reinforced my disappointment with MCU after Endgame, alongside seeing 'Black Widow'. The only thing good after Endgame so far has been Season 7 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., though I am curious about Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Guardians of the Galaxy 3 and Hawkeye series. The rest, that depends but given how have all the things after Endgame fared so far, not getting my hopes up.
Honestly, MCU is finished after Endgame, all the films after that so far have been letdowns, alongside the Disney+ series, they have been off to a good start with an interesting premise, good in the middle but at the end it turned into a letdown, either ruining the main characters or doing twists that are just weird and dumb.
Besides, and honestly, I felt like if I was going to continue the story, I'd be ripping off other authors, who have already done MCU/Arrowverse crossovers with a similar premise and my interest in writing Arrowverse stories these days is almost non-existent, with The Flash I am considering doing at least one or two stories but outside of one-shots, shorter stories or crossovers with other fandoms or some AUs that diverge from canon, I'm done with Arrowverse altogether. As for MCU, I do have ideas but another thing is to plan them out.
I enjoyed writing this story, which was on suggestion from marcus97L, thank you to him. I might write Oliver/Natasha again at some point but it would not be linked to this story anymore. I'll keep this on this site if anyone wants a good read but after seeing 'Black Widow' and first season of 'Loki' and my disillusionment with MCU and Arrowverse, this story is getting discontinued.
