The goblin village was in a busy state as they all are doing their very roles that were given by their new masters. Rimuru had given each of the goblins the work that they are needed to guard the village.

Meanwhile, Rimuru and Meliodas are helping in anything that they can. The former was handling the injured goblins by giving them a healing potion by simply swallowing and spitting them out of his body. Meliodas on the other hand was giving out tactics for the goblins that were on the frontline of their defences. As he was up to that, Meliodas look towards the fence that was a build-up and simply thought about it.

'Not the sturdiest but at least it's something. If it somehow does not hold I can just deal with the rest myself.'

The makeshift fence was surprisingly the li'l slime's idea. That somehow weird out Meliodas a bit. How can a slime even know about making fences? Sure it was not an ordinary slime but this was beyond what a slime could do. Was it after eating Veldora that he somehow got the intellect? Somehow he thinks that was unlikely.

Rimuru came back from healing the gobs as he went on to check the progress of the fences. Hopping next to Meliodas, he starts to address the others.

"So guys! How are the fences looking?" ask Rimuru.

One of the goblins went towards him and answered.

"Lord Rimuru! the defences that you have instructed has been finished! All that's left is to wait for the time comes!"

And when it does, they hope it can save them all.

The blue slime simply gave an approving look at that. Truth to be told, he doesn't have high hopes on it. Who can blame him? he hardly has experience with this kind of problem.

"What do you think Meliodas? Is this enough to protect us?"

There was also Meliodas. For the time that they hang out with each other, Rimuru had that feeling that he was more than it seems. Despite looking like a child, Meliodas was quite good with this sort of situation. Everything about him screams an experienced figure. Even though he has his skill to help out, Rimuru seems to like it more by asking Meliodas' viewpoint.

Meliodas gave a thought while putting his fingers on his chin. Everything looks okay for the part but maybe it is a lot better to add something more.

"Hmm... everything seems to be alright. Although it would be good to have something like a trap. That could help strengthen the defences a bit."

Hearing that, Rimuru already got the idea of what to do as he starts to hop forward the fences and using the ability that he has acquired, created a steel-like thread trap in Infront of the fence.

"Ho... Good thinking li'l slime!"

Rimuru simply huffs in pride as he took Meliodas compliment wholeheartedly meanwhile, a presence within the being gave an annoying sound.

With that all and done, they all waited for the moment of truth.

The sunsets and the moon rises. The time where the fates of the goblin village will begin. Each individual waited patiently for the jaws of death coming for them. Though scared, they stood their ground to protect their home and not face a demise.

One of the goblins took himself to be on the lookout. Hence, which is why he has to cling himself to a tree.

The goblin far and wide to see the sign of wolves. For now, there wasn't any movement. Here he thought that maybe the wolves were no more and have left them be...

until

Awooo....

The howls of the wolves echo in the night as it took the goblin by surprise. He again took another look at the horizon and what he saw made his blood ran cold.

Wolves. A whole pack of them were running as fast they can towards the jungle. Every single of them having a bloodlust eye.

The goblin, seeing this hurriedly warned the rest.

"T-they are here! The Fang Wolf Tribe! They're here!"

Hearing that every single one of the goblins went into their position while the children and female goblins stayed inside their houses.

Rimuru and Meliodas stood between the entrance of the fences as they waited for the wild wolves.

Not a moment too soon, the pack has already gathered at the village. The only thing that was in their way was a human and a slime?

The slime then hoped forward not even fearing its safety.

"Stop right there!" Shouted Rimuru towards the sprinting wolves. The pack simply halted from that as they were quite surprised that of all things that try to halt them was a slime. But despite that, they know something was off with it even their Alpha also senses it.

"Listen! I will only say this once! leave and I will spare all of you!"

The alpha wolf didn't take the threat kindly as it was simply damaging its pride as to be looked down on by a pathetic slime. With a growl, it ordered the pack to charge and kill the slime and the other dwellers.

The wolves dash forward following their leader's command. As the alpha was about to think about its victory, something unexpected happened. Its pack suddenly dying in its eyes.

'Alright, looks like the steel thread traps work like a charm.' thought Rimuru as he observed the situation. As of now, the defences are working properly. Not a single was able to enter the village no matter what. The only problem now was the alpha. Well... not something that he or Meliodas can't handle.

As on cue, the alpha went for the attack by itself. Seems like it doesn't take kindly for its kind to be killed that easily. Dashing through its dead kind and biting the threads all the way. Seeing itself getting closer, the alpha pounce on Rimuru ready to tear him to shreds.

"How naive..."

Suddenly, a bunch of threads starts to entangled around the alpha. Before it could even realise it, a sharp pain went through its neck as it realised that someone just cut its head off. As the head still has a bit of consciousness, it saw a glimpse of a human holding a bloody rusted sword.

Seeing the chance that was taken, Meliodas simply reacted without think as he finished the deed. Honestly, he never thought the slime and the goblin's defences works. Here's hoping that he had to do everything himself. Well, it should not surprise him anymore. Might as well just stop thinking about it.

As for Rimuru, he was quite startled by Meliodas going for the killing blow himself. Not that he's complaining about it. Still, though, he was fast. Couldn't even saw him appearing. Not a surprise for him though. Already learned that Meliodas was a lot stronger than he looks. But enough about that, the problem is not done yet.

Once the alpha was killed, the pack had stopped their assaults and were now just standing, giving a threatening look.

"Listen well fang wolf tribe! Your leader is dead! Now submit or end here! Make your choice!"

After Saying that, Rimuru simply curse himself for saying that. He should not have made them choose which fears him that they may choose to fight till death rather than submit. Maybe he could give them a push.

Moving towards the alpha's carcass, he quickly devours it. After hearing the confirmation of the voice in his head, he activates his skill.

(Mimicry: Fang Wolf)

Shrouded with black flame, Rimuru instantly transforms into a wolf.

"I won't force you to submit to me! If you won't submit, just leave this place! Quickly leave!!"

'There! with this, I'm sure that they would-'

"We will submit to you!"

'Eh?'

"Nishi-shi-shi-shi...! Well, well, well. Looks like you got yourself a new follower li'l slime!"

Far future

A huge army is seen standing in line as they are waiting for the command of their superior. For some, they seem to be like a group of normal individuals. But for those with a trained sense knows that this battalion is hardly normal. This is not hard to say since every single one of them are what's know as a demon. Even more outstanding is that they are all high ranking. This is why the aura that they give is quite suffocating. However, none of them was to compare to the five individuals that stood at the very front. Theirs was more overbearing as they stood side by side.

To those five, they were like ants.

"The armies are all set. All that is left is to wait for your command." Spoke one of the five who was wearing a butler suit while giving a courteous bow towards that it spoke to.

"I fail to see why I'm in command since this army is yours to begin with." answered the person with a cold voice.

"Fufufu... true but, I am simply a lowly servant while you on the other hand share the same authority of my master. Which is why giving you the command is a much more appropriate matter."

The butler answered slyly as he gave another bow.

"Besides, we are all curious to see the strength of the person that our master think highly so much."

From that, the person could only stay silent. Seriously... he only came here to give as much aid as possible not commanding a damn army. Knowing this guy, he would just start pestering him none stop if he doesn't accept.

"... fine. I'll do it. Get ready."

The butler simply gave an amused smile as he looks towards the being that gave him a hard time understanding since the first time they met.

"We await your command... Lord Meliodas."

He and the other three gave a bow as they look towards the being shrouded with a coat of pure darkness as he sets his cold eyes on the horizon that was filled with an army of a mighty scale from the opposite side.

To War...
