"That was tough guys!" Momo said tiredly.
The Seigaku team was huddled in the infirmary and Oishi was caring for Momo's injuries.
Fuji chuckled. "It was a frustrating first half." He looked down at his right arm and sighed. "Does anyone know how long this lasts?"
Ryoma chuckled and shrugged.
Everyone talked about what happened with each of their battles and how they felt. Inui and Tezuka even gave their opinion and viewpoint. They also voiced their surprise that he used a different type of water magic. The team talked for a while and one by one they all left to watch the rest of the Semifinals. They had the final immediately after with an hour intermission for healing, rest, and extra practice so most of the team thought it best to gather as much information as they could. Ryoma however wanted to take a walk outside, fuji joining along.
They walked in silence for a while until Ryoma stopped and started walking into the forest nearby.
Fuji was surprised by the detour but followed anyway. The two ended up walking pretty deep into the forest until they finally stopped walking.
"It's okay he knows," Ryoma said seriously.
Fuji was confused about what the boy was even talking about. He was going to ask but tensed when he felt a presence behind him.
He turned and jumped back. He did not even notice there was someone else around them. Since when was this blond there and for how long? Was he following the whole time or did he just get there?
The blond gave a small head bow. "I'm surprised you acknowledged me your highness, here I thought I would have to get your attention myself."
Ryoma smirked. "You were taking so long I got impatient."
Fuji coughed, he had quickly gotten over his surprise and relaxed knowing Ryoma knew the person.
Ryoma sighed. "Kevin, did you do as I asked?"
Kevin nodded. "As I mentioned before the man is very arrogant. He did not see anything wrong with my offer and agreed. I told him there was no date yet but he said he would make the deal whenever you are ready."
Echizen smiled. "Excellent. Fuji remember when you asked about your brother?"
Fuji was surprised. "yes?"
"In exchange for your silence, I managed to locate your brother or more specifically I found the Vampire who turned him."
Fuji was overwhelmed. After talking to Echizen he did not think he would be able to do it. Ryoma had told him that his brother would be difficult to find because he was probably changed illegally. He had given up on the idea of The prince finding him and was going to do so himself. He only expected Ryoma to follow through with reverting his brother back. He was happy and hopeful but more importantly, the rage he had bottled up was coming to the surface. He could feel his illusion magic slipping.
Ryoma didn't back down, fuji's wayward magic did not affect him. However, Kevin felt it full force. He was not expecting the human boy around his prince to have such magic pressure. It was suffocating and he felt that if he lost his focus he could be killed in an instant.
Ryoma coughed and Fuji managed to regain his composure. "Where?" Fuji asked.
Ryoma was silent. He understood the anger Fuji was feeling. He hated the unwilling turning of Humans. It was disgusting, it took away their control. Most people don't see it that way because the fledglings will be completely aware and can make their own choices but not really. It just seems that way, to the fledgling as well. The blood of another Vampire is in their veins. It a kinship. The turned human will have an unconscious desire to obey their creator.
An example would be if Fuji appeared before his brother now. If the Vampire did not want to let him go Fujis bother would reject Fuji. It will seem like he chose on his own though and he's afraid of what Fuji might do. He was unaware of how much Fuji knew when it came to turning a human and the traditions and rules that followed after.
He also knew that if he told him now there's a high chance Fuji would leave soon after. He needed to tread carefully. He had to convince Fuji to go along with his plan. That way they could finish the competition and Fuji wouldn't just be going to attack in a blind rage. Ryoma had created a plan. A carefully designed plan and Kevin set it all up already. It would work out for both of them. He could get rid of a Vampire who is breaking the law and Fuji gets his brother. Though if he knew Fuji he knew he would probably want to deal with the Vampire by himself.
"I won't tell you now because he travels constantly. It was hard to locate him in the first place." Ryoma finally answered "I've set it up as a deal. He thinks Kevin is a messenger for a wealthy client willing to buy quality merchandise."
"Merchandise?"
Ryoma frowned. "He's a dealer." Fuji looked confused so Ryoma continued. "A dealer is someone who kidnaps humans and sells them to other Vampires for feedings. It's illegal to feed off of humans or another race without consent, even then it's monitored in case magic is being used. There is a list of Human donors and we keep track of any contracts. There a supplement to replace human blood that tastes the same but without the effects. Human blood gives our race more strength, unlike a hybrid, werewolf, and fairy blood. Also, some Vampires are picky with who they feed off of, that's where a dealer comes in. They provide Humans against the law to Vampires willing to pay the large price."
Fuji was fuming. Vampires desgusted him. They used their powers to force his kind to do whatever they wanted. They treat humans as nothing more than food and playthings. Was it not the responsibility of those with the strength to protect the weak? Vampires don't protect, instead, they insist it is well within their right to mistreat those beneath them.
It was like this before too. When he was younger and they took his brother from him.
Fuji dropped his head, his power was slipping again. Kevin and Ryoma were surrounded by darkness. Kevin once again was unable to handle the pressure and fell to his knees.
Fuji chuckled like a madman. "Sorry, Ryoma but your kind is revolting."
Ryoma looked over at Kevin and signed. "I know." He then looked directly at Fuji and had a sympathetic look. His eyes glowed golden. "Suppress."
Fuji opened his eyes in shock. His magic left him. The darkness disappeared and Kevin was able to stand now that the pressure was gone. Fuji looked down at his hand confused.
"I'll release the spell once you've calmed down." Fuji heard Ryoma say but he was too focused on the feeling of loss to even respond. He took a deep breath. Ryoma was right, he needed to calm down.
"It's okay I understand, my apologies for losing control." Fuji turned and walked in front of Kevin. "Thank you for the help and forgive me for this display."
Kevin raised an eyebrow but smiled. "I understand, I think the same way as you." Fuji was surprised he would say that, was this boy not a Vampire as well? He worked for the prince. Seeing the look on Fuji's face Kevin added. "I am a fledgling."
Ryoma's eyes stopped glowing and Fuji felt his powers return to him. "Like I mentioned before I have set up a fake deal. After the competition, I'll have Kevin give him the location and time of the meeting. I'll also provide that information to you. However, we will go together. I have no intention of stopping you once we get there, all I ask is you wait until I've asked all my questions."
Fuji nodded. "Understood."
Ryoma smirked. "Perfect, The wraith will be unleashed once again."
Fuji was startled by Ryoma's comment by was unable to ask about it as another person showed up behind Kevin.
"Glad to see you weren't just messing around and was completing your responsibilities." The black-haired woman who stood next to Kevin said. Fuji did not know this person but he suspected this was the stand-in queen Nanako. She ran up and hugged Ryoma. "So proud of you and the team you created. Everyone is so strong!"
" I thought I saw you and the counsel in the stands. Their faces were priceless when they realized. I surprised they did not cause a commotion. Are they aware of the prize?" Ryoma stated while laughing. The head council member Izumi looked like he wanted to erupt in a rage as with the rest of the members. Well except for Kaito who looked like he was laughing at the others. He did always like that one.
Nanako shook her head. "No, otherwise I'm sure they would have gone to find you to convince you to back out."
Ryoma nodded "Good, can't wait to see their face when we win. Also Nanako this is Fuji."
Fuji did a small head bow when addressed. He did so out of respect but he would never do a full bow to a Vampire. Nanako had a sad smile like she understood and did not mind. She then looked back to Ryoma. "Do you mind filling me in now?"
Ryoma shook his head. "Not now. I'm sure you'll understand at the end of this competition though." he looked up to the sky. " Fuji we should be getting back I'm sure the others are practicing now."
Fuji and Ryoma left the others behind and started walking back to the Competition. Their team had to discuss how they planned on facing Atobe's and Yukiura's team. Ryoma was sure Inui watched their matches and would fill them in.
Before they got back though Ryoma wanted to go into more details about his brother.
"Fuji, about turning your brother back to human." Fuji nodded to show he was listening. "I didn't tell you everything. the price of the process is not only being unable to use magic. There is also the possibility of brain damage."
Fuji sighed. "I thought as much."
"Do you still want to go through with it?"
"I told you it is not up to me. It would be up to my brother."
"And what if he does not want to go back with you."
Fuji smiled sadly. "I wouldn't know what to do."
...
"Alright Welcome back from the intermission everyone. We finally move onto the Finals. The winners from the prelims are Seigaku, Hyotei, and Rikkaidai!
Now because we have three teams in the finals the lineup will be like so.
Seigaku Vs Hyotei
Hyotei Vs Rikkaidai
Rikkaidai Vs Seigaku
The battles will be on a K.O basis. Whichever team knocks out the other will be the winner. However, on the chance there is a tie with all three teams the team who accumulated the most points will be the winner.
Points are rewarded based on attack, blocking, and strategy. So keep in mind it's not just about knocking out your opponent but how you do so as well.
There will be no time limit. Also, the full team will be participating. So we get to see what the others are capable of besides making plans and healing their team members.
Other than what has been stated before there are no rules. Use magic, martial arts, or natural talent to defeat your opponents. As long as you remain in the ring anything goes.
Now Shall we begin?
