Chapter 298: Arc 18: The Sea Is For Pirates! Raid! To Onigashima

"Wait, are you going to give it all up?" Momonosuke wailed as the Akazaya set forth towards Onigashima by boat.

"We're not giving up, Momonosuke-sama." Kin'emon assured. "Since we are a small team, we will able able to sneak in and point a sword at Kaido's neck before anyone realizes. As long as we live, we will not give up."

"Something is not right." Kiku realized. "This means our plan has been leaked again."

"I was..." Kanjuro started. "I mean I am sure everyone is thinking the same."

"I didn't want to think so, but there's probably a spy among us." Kin'emon related. "To be honest, I really don't want to know now."

"Kin-sama, this isn't like you." Kiku rebuked. "You must find the spy and cut them off and move on. Otherwise, we can't move ahead."

"There is no way they will confess." Kin'emon reminded.

"Somewhere in my mind, I'd suspected there was a spy." Ashura admitted. "But I kept a blind eye to it. This is the price we have to pay."

"How long has this person been betraying us?" Dogstorm wondered. "And why?"

"Wait." Raizo cut in. "We must not suspect one another now."

"If we become paranoid and start fighting each other, we play right into the enemy's hands." Kawamatsu agreed.

"But if we keep the person alive, we'll lose our already slim chance of winning." Kiku reminded. "Besides, this person betrayed Oden-sama, I cannot let it go."

"I agree with Kiku, Kin." Kanjuro concurred.

"We have all eaten from the same pot and shared the same hardships." Kin'emon declared. "Even if there is a spy, that person must have a compelling reason. Perhaps blackmail by Kaido and Orochi? That person must have been through a lot. I am sorry that I did not notice. Because of my incompetence, one of my colleagues was coerced into spying."

"How can you be so naive?" Kiku scolded. "If it were not for that person, Oden-sama would still be here with us."

"I don't want a quarrel amongst us." Kin'emon wept.

"I understand how Kiku feels, too." Kanjuro sobbed. "Kin, let's clear it all up" by acknowledging that it was me." he smirked.

"Stop joking..." Kin'emon gaped. "We were all almost boiled to death."

"That's right." Kanjuro noted. "I could've fulfilled my role by dying with you guys. One of the Akazaya Nine, Evening Shower Kanjuro, who pledged his loyalty to Oden, that man never existed. I shared joys and concerns with you guys every day and earned your complete trust. I didn't hate anyone nor mean to hurt them. I just kept sending information to Orochi-sama."

"So you are saying it has all been a lie from the beginning?" Kin'emon demanded.

"Why would you do that?" Kiku snapped.

"I've been persecuted since I was a child and my parents were killed in front of me." Kanjuro snorted. "Since then, I've only been able to live by playing someone other than myself. Because I myself couldn't think or feel anything: Evening Shower Kanjuro, that's just a role that Orochi-sama has given me. My real name is Kurozumi Kanjuro. Isn't that enough reason? The first plan was leaked not because Law's subordinates spilled it, it was me who informed them. Yasuie beautifully covered it up and changed to rendezvous point in exchange of his life. That was impressive. But one I got the message, his death became meaningless. When Jack appeared at Zou where no one can reached without a Vivre Card, you were wondering why, weren't you, Dogstorm? That's right. I gave it to him. And I leaked everything about the latest plan to Orochi-sama, too. I guess Orochi-sama blew up and blocked all the roads that led to Tokage Port, as well as the Straw Hats' ship. It's no wonder no one has come. Why didn't you suspect any of us?" he grinned as three Beasts Pirates galleons appeared on the ocean. "Why didn't you suspect your people before all of this happened? You knew something wasn't right. All this time, about everything."

"Kanjuro!" Kin'emon roared, slashing the artist with his katana.

"I would've felt great as an actor to be swallowed by the sea with you guys without revealing myself." the Kanjuro clone chuckled. "But Orochi-sama stopped me this time. He said 'Good job. The play is over'."

On the shore...

Appearing behind Shinobu, Kanjuro materialized a pair of snakes form his drawings and sent them to entangle the kunoichi. "Orochi-sama also said this, 'Come to Onigashima with Momonosuke'." With Shinobu incapacitated, he ran forward to grab his target, Momonosuke when the crystal pendent Momonosuke had around his neck flared to life, forming a spherical energy barrier around the boy.

At sea...

"Momonosuke-sama's pendent..." Kin'emon gaped. "Did Sasha-sama know..."

"How did Kanjuro get there at the port?" Raizo barked. "Then this is..." the group turned to the Kanjuro clone. "A drawing." he gaped when the coloring faded into black and white.

"The Kanjuro we knew can't draw this..." Dogstorm was stunned.

"Kill the rest!" the Bird Gifter ordered and all three galleons aimed their cannons at the boat and fired.

Ashura jumped in and sliced a cannonball into half. "Guys, we don't have time to talk." he barked. "We must trust Momonosuke-sama to protect himself."

"Regain balance!" Dogstorm ordered as the cannonballs continued to wreck the boat.

"This is it." the Butterfly Gifter grinned when a sudden shot was fired to the galleon's fore.

On board the Thousand Sunny...

"You guys, how can you sleep under such circumstances?" Nami chided.

"Is the ship repaired?" Zoro stirred awake under the mast.

"After I eat, sleep and wake up, I'll be the strongest I've ever been!" Luffy jumped to his feet. "Fire!" he ordered, one of the ship's cannons shot at the galleon closest to them. "Sorry for being a little late."

With the Akazaya Nine...

"The boat's gonna sink." Dogstorm realized.

"There's something in the water." Kawamatsu corrected when the boat was lifted from the water and the six samurai found themselves on the deck on the rising Polar Tang.

"How foolish are you guys to go out on the stormy sea in that small boat?" Law rebuked. "Don't underestimate the sea, you damn samurai."

At sea...

"Hey!" Eustass Kid snapped, the Victoria Punk's side cannons were already bombarding the Beast Pirates galleons. "I saw a ridiculous amount of ships and samurai gathering at the other port. Who are they? They were in my way, so I wanted to sink them."

With the Akazaya Nine...

"Sasha-sama, you're all okay?" Kin'emon shouted.

"Was about time, Kid." Sasha chided as the Thousand Sunny pulled in.

"Straw Hat, I won't let you have Kaido's head." Kid swore.

"What in the world is going on?" Kiku wondered.

On the shore...

"I didn't hear about any of this." Kanjuro was shocked by the sudden turn of events.

At sea...

"They're pirates." the Bird Gifter realized who their opposition were. "The pirates of the Worst Generation who were supposed to be in prison."

"You're no sea experts." Law retorted. "Don't be reckless."

"You guys should stand back." Kid growled.

"The sea is for pirates to fight on." Luffy grinned.
