A deadly Spartan sent on a mission that might be his last

An ODST fireteam is sent in response to a distress signal made by a UNSC research base. At first, there's little else besides dust and echoes, and hints of a battle long since fought- and lost. But what begins as a routine asset denial op quickly spirals into a desperate struggle for survival.

Six months after the fall of Earth, Blue Team is deployed to the planet Ballast - the birthplace of Frederic-104 - to retrieve a new innovation that could alter the course of the Created Conflict. [FIFTH INSTALLMENT] Some time after the fall of Tartarus, the Covenant Separatists are informed by the Oracle of the Demon's AI being held captive by the Gravemind. When the Flood escape to Earth, Shipmaster Rtas 'Vadum, the Arbiter, Ludo 'The Plague' Macdem and his apprentice all arrive with reinforcements to assist humanity and locate Cortana.

The year is 2551, and the Human-Covenant War rages. A lone Spartan III finds himself at the center of a conspiracy that could either destroy the Covenant from the inside or permanently cripple Humanity.
