Chapter 299: Arc 18: The Worst Generation Charges in! The Battle of the Stormy Sea
"The Worst Generation?" one of the Beast Pirate lookouts peered through his spyglass. "Why are they here? I thought there were only remnants of the Akazaya. Let's get them first. Fire!"
On the Thousand Sunny...
"This is perfect for trying out my new sword." Zoro grinned.
"Green Star: Skull Blast Star!" Usopp sent his pellet flying towards one of the enemy's cannons.
Zoro's energy blast from Enma took out the remaining cannons.
"Kin'emon, everyone, sorry to keep you waiting." Carrot beamed.
On the Polar Tang...
"Don't give up hope." resolve renewed, Kin'emon encouraged. "We still have a chance to win as long as there are people who fight with us."
"They showed off as usual." Law spat.
On the Victoria Punk...
"Enjoy crushing those small fry." Kidd snarled. "All I want is Kaido's head."
On shore...
"What's this all about?" Kanjuro was stunned. "Why's Luffy's clan here? Not only them, I heard Law was jailed. I reported all about Kin'emon's plan and the circumstances to Orochi-sama. Don't tell me Orochi-sama didn't take any measures."
In the sky...
"I can't believe it." the Bird Gifter growled. "The lion ship appeared undamaged?"
"We blew up that ship last night ourselves." the Butterfly Gifter swore.
"We received an order from Orochi-sama and went to the beach of Kuri." the Bird Gifter confirmed.
On shore...
"I knew Orochi-sama took measures." Kanjuro grinned. "But then why?" he wondered. "It would've been impossible for them to repair it overnight."
On the Thousand Sunny...
"So it was you guys who messed with our ship." Franky retorted, firing off his shoulder cannons at the two Gifters in the sky. "Did you think you can destroy the Sunny with an ordinary bomb? How naive. This Thousand Sunny is a ship that was built from the Jewel Tree Adam and it'll sail through a thousand seas. There's no way this ship would be destroyed by that stupid bomb."
On shore...
"You mean it didn't work?" Kanjuro gaped.
On the Thousand Sunny...
"Of course not." Franky fired back. "It didn't even make a scratch."
"Though, the sails did get burnt." Sasha supplied. "Sorry, Kin'emon. It took a while to fix the sails."
"Hey, Kin." Luffy shouted. "Why are there only a few of you? It's not exactly as I heard, but it's okay for me to destroy those battleships, right?"
"He's right." Brook agreed. "There were supposed to be a lot of allies here."
"What happened to the 3500 people from the Excavation Labor Camp?" Chopper inquired.
"I don't see them." Shishilian concurred.
"Those bosses scattered to different regions and gathered mobsters." Sanji mused. "There must've been over 200 of them."
"I don't see them." Robin noted.
"At Itachi Port, there were 200 of Dogstorm's Musketeers and 280 of Atamayama Thieves Brigade." Franky related.
"The ships that we repaired with them were supposed to join us here." Usopp pointed out.
"A huge cache of weapons that'll be enough for everyone was supposed to be delivered here from Ringo, too." Zoro added.
"Kin'emon, is there any problem?" Nami shouted.
On the Polar Tang...
"I made a blunder." Kin'emon admitted. "Luffy-dono, I'm so sorry. Our plan was all leaked. It's all my fault. I deeply apologize. I have no idea what happened to everyone."
On the Thousand Sunny...
"I see." Sasha turned to the shore. "So the traitor finally reveals himself."
"That's why they're not here." Chopper realized. "Traitor?" he echoed. "Kanjuro?"
"No way!" Carrot exclaimed.
"Sasha-sama, you knew..." Shishilian gaped.
"I had my suspicious back on Dressrosa." Sasha replied. "Hint Number One: when Kin'emon found him, he was in the underground cell of the Colosseum filled with toys. Was it not puzzling why he hadn't been turned into a toy for all the time he was there? And most importantly, why does he draw with his non-dominant hand?"
"I see." Luffy nodded. "We have no choice. Sasha, I'm leaving Kanjuro to you."
"Roger, Captain." Sasha nodded. "What condition should I leave him in?"
"I'll leave that up to you." Luffy shrugged.
"Idiot." Franky retorted after the Bird Gifter tossed a bomb at the Thousand Sunny. "Bombs cannot destroy our ship."
In the air...
"I don't think you understand the situation." the Bird Gifter mocked. "You guys are all alone. None of your allies will come."
"If the ship can't be destroyed, "I'll pull you into the water." the Butterfly Gifter chuckled. "Enjoy your watery grave, fools from the Worst Generation."
On the Thousand Sunny...
"What do you mean by none of our allies will come?" Luffy growled.
In the air...
"Knowing that doesn't do you any good." the Butterfly Gifter smirked.
"You guys have no chance to win now." the Bird Gifter readied his bombs.
On the Thousand Sunny...
"Zeus!" Nami sent out the homie and fed him two Weather Eggs. "Ninpo: Lightning Blast!" she shorted out the tossed bombs.
"Cien Fleurs." Robin's enlarged extended hand replica tossed a tossed explosive barrel back to its owner.
Activating Diable Jambe, Sanji shot into the sky, exploding the metal chain whip the Butterfly Gifter threw at the ship.
"You guys, answer my question." Luffy barked.
In the air...
"All right, I'll tell you before you die." the pink-winged Bird Gifter snorted. "However, we actually don't know much about it, either."
"We couldn't destroy the lion ship, but we sank all the ships docked at the port last night." the green Bird Gifter revealed. "That's not all, Orochi-sama is a meticulous man. We were ordered to destroy all major bridges connecting the regions. Now you get it? No one's able to come here anymore. Even if they could get here, they wont' be able to reach Onigashima without ships. And if you miss today, you'll never get another chance for your raid. And we'll kill all the rebels that we found one by one from tomorrow.
On the Polar Tang...
"You idiots!" Ashura roared at the mocking laughter of the Beast Pirates.
On shore...
"These voices that jeer the Akazaya members." Kanjuro bragged, snatching up Momonosuke once the energy barrier faded. "That's praise for the greatest act of my life. Now the curtain will fall for the Akazaya members."
On the Polar Tang...
Bepo, Shachi and Penguin jumped in to cut down the incoming cannonballs coming towards them.
On the Thousand Sunny...
"Protect the Akazaya members." Shishilian led Concelot and Giovanni into battle, the lightning charged strikes from the Musketeers' swords creating a electric web that dispelled the incoming cannonballs.
In the air...
"There is one more thing that we haven't told you." the Butterfly Gifter added. "Today's banquet isn't just another banquet on the night of the Fire Festival. It's also a banquet to celebrate the alliance between us the Beast Pirates and and infamous Big Mom Pirates. It's easier for you to just give up."
On the Thousand Sunny...
"You're in no position to be arrogant." Luffy snorted. "Don't mess with us. Everyone, back off."
On the Polar Tang...
"Idiot, you back off." Law snarled.
On the Victoria Punk...
"Both of you, back off." Kidd retorted. "I'll do it."
On the Thousand Sunny...
"Well, while our three Captains are having their pissing-off contest," Sasha remarked, the three Captains had moved to the middle galleon to settle their fight. "Let me deal with our traitor, shall we?" she turned and manifested the Blizzard Wand, a short stick shaped in a jazzed ice shard. With a cool look, she pointed the wand at Kanjuro. "Crucio." she snarled in pure hatred.
On shore...
Kanjuro sucked in a breath before he was overwhelmed by intense pain that wrecked his whole body and forcing him to drop Momonosuke.
Pain; all-consuming pain was the only thing the artist felt when the bolt of light hit, pain so intense it was as if white-hot knives were piercing every inch of his skin.
At sea...
The Kyoshiro Family's ship entered the battle. "Seems like you are in trouble." the last remaining Akazaya in Wano stood on the deck. "What can I do to help?"
"Orochi-sama ordered us to sink the Akazaya members." one of the surviving Beast Pirates reported. "And that's all we have to do, but it's not as easy as we thought." he cast a look at the squabbling three Captains.
"Sink the enemy, right?" Kyoshiro snorted. "Count on me." drawing his sword and coating it with Armament Haki, he cut the galleon in front of him into half with one strike.
SailorStar9: Any OOC-nes is regretted. *Sighs* Don't you just hate plot bunnies sometimes? Reviews are much appreciated.
