Docks

Hayley thought she would faint, was Jackson okay?

"Jackson!" she screamed as she tried to run over. Marcel and Josh both stopped her from putting herself in danger.

Rebekah whispered, "They are breathing. I can hear them. Just let us see what they want, Hayley."

Now noticing that their invisibility spell was dissolved, Nora spun on her heel, "Who is the bloody hell are you?"

"You're the Heretics, aren't you? From the Ascendent, the prison world," Marcel growled.

Mary Louise smirked, "So what if we are? Come closer and let us show you how much we appreciate your fine city."

Beau, stood silently, but proudly. He may have lost his voice, but he could still siphon and do magic.

Davina could sense their power. "They're siphons." She cast a small boundary spell as a test to see if they could escape it. Mary Louise put up her hand and it glowed red as she siphoned up the spell.

"Thanks, dear. I needed that," Mary Louise laughed.

Rebekah stepped forward, "What do you want? What are you doing here at the docks?"

Mary Louise and Nora looked at each other, and then Beau. They really just wanted to get the Ascendent and escape. Beau seemed to agree with the girls. Although, Beau could no longer speak, they loved him deeply and depended on him to stay by their sides.

"We need in this tomb. We need another Ascendent. It's a delicate situation. We'd hate to hurt these pretty wolf boys," Nora replied. Her green eyes flashed with danger and a spark of cunning.

"You stay away from them!" Hayley thundered as Josh held her back.

Marcel smiled graciously, "What do you need the wolves for?"

"The tomb is spelled. It was another Guerrera stash. We're not quite sure how to get in. We've been trying to siphon the spell, but it's blocking us," Mary Louise admitted. Nora elbowed her slightly. Mary Louise always did have a big mouth.

"You know, Kai, right? You were in prison world with him. Does this have to do with the Geminis?" Rebekah inquired.

"Of course. Lily, our mum, made a deal with Kai's coven. They want the boy back and Lily, well, she wants Malcolm back. It's a win-win situation," Mary Louise explained.

"We are not handing Kai over to you. You have to know he is under our family's protection now," Marcel said plainly.

"We heard that. Lily actually doesn't want to harm the boy. She grew quite fond of him in prison world. But Lily also is keen on getting Malcolm back...I think she was intending on double crossing the Gemini coven," Nora confessed.

"That's a dangerous proposition. Look, we want the wolves and you want this guy Malcolm back...and we need our missing vampires," Rebekah said diplomatically.

"Sorry, but the vampires are gone. We need to talk to Lily before we make any decisions. Give us a day. As a gesture of good faith, we'll give you back these wolves," Nora stated.

Hayley and Josh both breathed a sigh of relief.

"But," Nora continued, "they are under a sort of sleeping beauty spell. They won't wake up until Mary Louise and I wake them up with a kiss. That's some insurance so you can't kill us, just yet."

Marcel shook his head, "We're not going to kill you. Just let them go. How are we going to find you again? What's your name?"

"I'm Nora. This is Mary Louise and this is Beau. We'll be in touch," Nora said. She took Mary Louise's hand and silent Beau's and they disappeared.

Davina tried to suss them out, but the trail was cold. Hayley and Josh ran over to sleeping Jackson and Ollie.

"They just seem like they are taking a nap," Hayley cried.

Josh dialed, "I'm going to call Aiden and let him know they are here. Maybe we should take them back to the Bayou."

Rebekah cringed, "I don't know. I think we should take them to back to the compound. We can keep them safe there."

Josh spoke quickly into the phone and tried to fill Aiden in. Before he could finish, Marcel shouted at him. Rebekah and Marcel had found the other vampires.

"Drink, Diego," Rebekah muttered as she shoved her wrist in his mouth.

A few drops of her strong Original blood seemed to revive him quickly. He began to feed more deeply until he was able to move.

"My guys," Diego groaned.

Marcel clamped him on the shoulder, "Sorry, man. They're gone."

"Marcel, we need to get out of here," Rebekah said glancing at the unconscious wolves and the girls.

Diego staggered, "Go, Marcel. I got this. I need some time."

Josh offered to stay, but Diego brushed him off.

Louisiana Bayou

11pm

Mary had demanded that Jackson and Ollie be returned to her back at the Bayou. Eve was there as were Aiden and Tommy waiting anxiously outside.

"I don't understand! They just went fishing like this always do," Mary exclaimed. Mary remembered earlier whacking them when they got home from school with her broken yardstick. How insignificant it seemed at this time, just a few hours later. Now, she would let them drop out of school if they would just wake up. She wanted to hear their voices, even if it was just to hear Oliver complain or Jackson laugh over one of his stupid jokes.

Marcel and Josh carried the boys into the small house and into their bed. They seemed unharmed. Davina had tried to remove the spell in the car with no luck at all. She had never thought about how handy it would be to be a siphon witch. Instead of reversing spells, which was almost impossible unless you knew the exact spell, you could siphon them. Then again, Davina couldn't imagine not drawing her magic from the earth.

Hayley and Mary both went in the bedroom to tend to the boys the best that they could. Neither would leave their bedside.

Josh decided to stay with Aiden and help defend the wolves if the siphons came back. However, he wasn't sure how much good he would be.

"You folks call if you need anything. We're going to get Davina home. Josh, can I have a word?" Marcel said quietly.

"Marcel, this is awful. How are those witches going to find us? They seemed really powerful," Josh scoffed.

"I know, man. Look, be on high alert. Don't just be cuddling with Aiden. I want you to keep these people safe until I get back. I love you, buddy," Marcel said clamping him tightly on the shoulder.

"I know. Me, too. I'll protect them. Don't worry about that," Josh promised. Davina and Rebekah exchanged a tearful goodbye with Josh and Hayley. Mary seemed too dazed to even notice they were leaving.

"Maybe I should stay, too!" Davina said.

"Davina, honey, get in the car," Marcel said gently.

"No, I just don't feel right leaving Josh. Maybe I can break the spell tonight?" Davina offered.

"It's late. We're all tired. We'll talk about it tomorrow. Now in the car," Marcel repeated.

"But,_" Davina argued.

Marcel's face hardened, "We're not letting you spend the night here. Now get your butt in the car before you get another good spanking right here in front of everyone! Now!" Marcel was bluffing, but they were all tired and on edge.

"Dad! I was going...," Davina huffed and got in fast. Marcel slammed the door and looked over at Rebekah who shrugged. Sometimes they had to use whatever threats worked.

The Compound

By the time they finally got home, Davina was asleep in the back of their SUV.

"She's exhausted, Marcel. Don't wake her up. Just put her in bed," Rebekah directed.

"Yes, what a night, huh? Let's just keep her home from school tomorrow," Marcel said getting her out of the car carefully.

"Yes, she needs rest," Rebekah smiled. She shut the car door and helped them inside.

Rebekah watched as he got her settled in bed and covered her up.

"At least, she's in sweats," Rebekah joked.

Marcel kissed Davina and softly shut the door.

Rebekah grabbed his hand, "It's been a long time since we had a quiet night."

"Too long," Marcel smiled as her drew her in closely.

"Oh Marcel, are they going to be okay?" Rebekah groaned, breaking the silence.

"I don't know, Rebekah. I'm worried, too. But just for tonight. Just for a few hours, can it just be us? No Originals, no vamps, no wolves, no witches, just you and me?"

"Yes, we can do that. For just a few hours...Turn out the light," Rebekah smiled.

Marcel woke up the girls with a big breakfast. He had made it all, waffles, pancakes, and sent out for beignets. He also had some volunteers whom they drank blood from. They were well-paid and the vampires typically only did this out of sight of humans.

"Marcel, this looks wonderful. I'm going to feed from this young lady before Davina wakes up," Rebekah said digging into the girl's wrist.

"Then, I'll feed from the gentleman," Marcel said drinking from his neck. They drank and then compelled the volunteers to forget where they lived until they were called again.

"I can't believe you broke out the waffle maker," Rebekah smiled. "What is the occasion?"

"No occasion needed to try to make you happy. Sometimes I forget how little it takes to do that. I'm sorry I've been so caught up in work and faction business," Marcel pointed out.

"Nonsense. I see it as the faster you straighten out things here, the faster we can get back to Mystic Falls," Rebekah said popping a strawberry into her mouth.

"I've been texting Diego to see if he is okay. Besides Josh, he's my right hand man. Losing his crew is going to be hard. We need to hit those siphons hard, but they are too powerful. Who would have thought that a vampire could also be a witch?" Marcel said giving her a mug of coffee.

"Thanks, luv," Rebekah said taking the mug. "Will it ever end, Marcel? Our enemies only seem to multiply, year by year."

"I guess not. For many years, we ruled, I ruled, with a heavy hand. I didn't see things as I do now. There is a balance to things. These siphons upset the balance...hybrids, I guess of any kind do. But they said with great power comes responsibility. Maybe we could trust these siphons, these Heretics to police themselves and just go away?" Marcel said now handing her a plate of waffles.

"We need to find out more about this Malcolm fellow. Why does Lily want him so badly? Also, why do these heretics follow her so loyalty? It's odd. Can you call Nik or Elijah today and find out?" Rebekah wondered.

"Yeah, it's time. I've been trying to handle as much of this as I could on my own, but I think it's time to get everyone on the same page. I hope these siphons honor the deal and wake up Jackson and Oliver on time. Jackson, especially, is from a very important wolf line. His loss would be a real blow to the Crescents," Marcel shared.

Davina padded in looking groggy and tired.

"Morning, sweetheart. How'd you sleep?" Marcel said to the testy teenager. Davina was never in a great mood in the morning.

"Finnnne," Davina groaned.

"We're supposed to be the ones who are vampires. Are you sure you're not turning? Want some blood?" Rebekah joked.

"Ha, ha. No, I'm fine. I just wanted to stay at the Bayou last night with my friends," Davina moaned.

"I know, hon. But it was too dangerous," Rebekah said firmly.

"But I could have done something! Something to help," Davina retorted.

"Maybe? Maybe not," Marcel said giving her a plate of pancakes.

"Yum, but Dad. Seriously, I could have, if you would have let me!" Davina said with emphasis on the word you.

Rebekah cut in sharply,"Luv, don't blame Daddy. We weren't leaving you in the Bayou, especially with a lot of siphon vamps on the loose. End of story, miss. Now, sit and eat your breakfast, young lady, while you still can."

Davina rolled her eyes and shoved a forkful of pancake in her mouth. She could tell that she had pushed the issue too far. They weren't going to let her stay in the Bayou, even if she could help.

"Can we at least go back later?" Davina tried one last time.

"We'll see. Honey, we don't know if these witches are going to show up or what's going to happen. Let's just play it by ear, okay?" Marcel said sitting down to eat with them.

"That sounds like a good plan," Rebekah agreed.

"To you," Davina uttered with a hint of sarcasm.

"Look, we're all a little on edge and worried about Jack and Ollie. After breakfast, I'm going to call Mystic Falls and fill them in. So much for trying to work this out on my own," Marcel shared.

Rebekah grabbed his hand, "You don't have to. That's what family is for. We'll get these siphons taken care of and make sure they won't hurt anyone we care for again."

Evening

Marcel had no had good news from the Bayou. The wolves were still asleep. He called Mystic Falls. They were sending down Freya, Keelin, and the twins to help. Freya and Keelin weren't staying, but the girls would stay for as long as needed.

"Rebekah, how do you think Davina is going to feel about having twin sisters for a while?" Marcel grinned.

"Two siphons? Wow, that will help. But god, those girls are a handful. Marcel, there are days we can barely handle one teenage, hormonal witch. Now, we'll have three? We're going to need more wine," Rebekah ticked off.

Marcel grabbed her and started massaging her shoulders.

"We always wanted a big family, didn't we?" Marcel pressed.

"Yes, but not of kids who can drain us dry if they don't like the way we make their toast! I'm going to go make sure the room is ready. Should they share a room? Or what? What time will they be here?" Rebekah said panicking.

Marcel heard a sound, "Ugh, I think they are here. Sorry, I didn't think they would leave so fast."

Rebekah popped up and went into host mode, "No worries. Let me just put towels in their rooms. Better keep them as happy as possible."

"Rebekah, it will be fine," Marcel said kissing her on the lips. Sisters might be good for Davina. At the very least, they could test out what it would be like back in Mystic Falls when Davina wouldn't be the only teenage witch.
