Chapter 304: Arc 18: The Samurai Warriors' Earnestness! The Straw Hats Land at Onigashima
"Everyone!" Luffy turned to his enlarged crew. "When we kick Kaido's ass, we'll have a big banquet!"
On the Victoria Punk...
"Get out of my way, you weaklings!" Eustass barked.
On the Thousand Sunny...
"Jaggy!" Luffy spotted the older pirate Captain.
On the Victoria Punk...
"I won't let anyone take Kaido's head." Eustass declared. "Right, Killer?"
"Yeah, that's right." the twin scythe wielder nodded, the defective SMILE Fruit he had consumed had been purified by Sasha before the group had set sail.
"Is that it?" Eustass snorted. "Don't you have anything else to say?"
"No, I don't." Killer retorted.
"Is that it?" Eustass demanded.
With an unison roar, the Kid Pirates set sail towards Onigashima.
"Kaido, pretty up your face and wait for me." Eustass growled. "I'll chop off your head and display it on the bow of my ship. Straw Hat, see you later." he smirked as the Victoria Punk went on ahead.
On the Thousand Sunny...
"Wait, Jaggy!" Luffy fumed. "That bastard! They're in good spirits. Jinbe, you know what to do. Keep up with Jaggy's ship."
"Sounds fun." Jinbe laughed. "Leave it to me. I'll catch up with that punk's ship in no time."
"I'm gonna bring you down." Luffy grinned as the Thousand Sunny sped towards the Victoria Punk. "Wait for me Kaido."
On the Polar Tang...
"Raizo." Kin'emon called out, he and Denjiro had boarded Hyogoro's ship. "Explain out plan to everyone again."
"Here is the plan Kin'emon created." Raizo pulled out the Onigashima map. "While Luffy-dono lures the enemies to the front, Kin'emon and Denjiro will split up and lead everyone else along the side mountain paths to the back entrance of the castle. To avoid the whirling waves, we will try to reach the back entrance with this ship."
On Hyogoro's ship...
"Set sail." Hyogoro ordered.
In the Polar Tang...
"Law-dono, I am counting on you." Raizo requested, shutting the submarine's door behind him.
"Guys, prepare to submerge." Law ordered. "Full speed ahead to the back entrance of Onigashima."
On Hyogoro's ship...
"Everyone!" Kin'emon called out, with Luffy and Eustass taking the lead. "Stay sharp. Don't let your guard down. There could be an ambush any minute. The fate of the Land of Wano will be determined by this battle."
"Kin-san." Denjiro approached. "I'm glad I can fight alongside you again."
"Haven't you lost your touch, Denjiro?" Kin'emon teased.
"Why bother surviving the last two decades if not to improve my skills?" Denjiro snorted.
"You must have been through a lot." Kin'emon laughed. "Let's end this."
On the Victoria Punk...
"There it is." Eustass smirked as his ship sailed into the entrance of the island port. "I can finally avenge myself."
On the Thousand Sunny...
"So this is Onigashima." Luffy gawked at the decor.
"It's enormous." one of the horse Mink Musketeer Squad was in awe.
On Hyogoro's ship...
"Kin-san, look." Denjiro nodded to a building in sight.
"They just enjoying a banquet." Kin'emon noted. "They are not on a lookout for an enemy attack at all. I guess they have not received Kanjuro's report yet. Or maybe they have received it, but it does not worry them. Even so, we are lucky. We can even launch a surprise attack now."
On the Thousand Sunny...
"Kaido's castle is deep in the island, right?" Sanji asked.
"That's what it looks like." Franky agreed. "It's farther from here than we expected."
"If they haven't noticed, we must attack swiftly." Zoro reasoned.
"We must buy time for Kin'emon and the others to reach the back entrance, too." Franky reminded. "What should we do?"
"What's that?" Usopp peered through his binoculars. "Is that a guard?" he spotted three sentries drinking on duty. "Why don't you guys take a nap?" he readied Black Kabuto. "Special Attack: Green Star, Sleeping Grass!" he fired off a Pop Green at the three sentries. Said Pop Green stopped short in front of the guards' faces to reveal a flower that emitted sleeping gas. "Problem solved." he grinned.
On Hyogoro's ship...
"All enemy guards have been silenced." Hyogoro was stunned to see the guards had all fallen asleep. "Why don't you guys relax?" he rebuked Jo, Tetsu and Hanji, all three samurai had their hands on the hilts of their swords. "If you're already this nervous now, you'll be useless when it matters most. You guys, too." he turned to the rest of the samurai. "Don't you dare slow the Akazaya down. In any case, I can't believe we made it this far."
On the Thousand Sunny...
"Letting our main force, the Akazaya members, charge in front from the back entrance, huh?" Jinbe mused, the Straw Hat crew having docked at the port. "I see. I've got a rough understanding of the plan, but if we moor this many ships out in the open, our enemies will definitely be provoked."
On Hyogoro's ship...
"Everyone!" Kin'emon called. "Get ready to disembark."
On the Thousand Sunny...
"What's going on?" Usopp wondered, hearing the loud roar from the samurai ships.
"Don't tell me they..." Franky gaped.
On Hyogoro's ship...
"Break them!" Kin'emon ordered and the samurai started smashing their ships to pieces.
On the Thousand Sunny...
"What decisiveness." Jinbe realized what was happening. "What determination."
On the Onigashima port...
"Everyone." Kin'emon addressed the samurai. "Go ashore quickly but quietly. Listen, fellow warriors. We will split up into two groups and take the mountain paths to the back entrance. Follow me or Denjiro."
On the Thousand Sunny...
"Hey, we all worked so hard to repair those ships." Franky protested.
"You hid the ships by sinking them?" even Luffy was confused. "But you can't sail them anymore. How are you guys gonna get back?"
On the Onigashima port...
"Luffy-dono, you do not have to worry." Kin'emon assured. "We will let them all sink because we do not need return ships. We must go now, so excuse us."
On the Thousand Sunny...
"What an incredible display." even Brook was awed. "We saw how earnest those samurai warriors really are. There is no hesitation in them, only determination."
"Sink or swim, win or die." Sasha added.
"What if they wanna escape?" Chopper gasped.
"They'll just be swallowed by the sea." Robin answered.
"A small number of ships can be hid." Jinbe reasoned. "Make your way ashore, too, guys."
On the Onigashima port...
"This is no good." Carrot exclaimed, seeing the horde of Gifters on the other side of the bridge they were about to cross.
"What is it, Carrot?" Sanji asked. "What's no good?"
"Look." Chopper pointed. "How didn't we notice..."
"There are so many enemies at the shore." Carrot gaped.
"Aren't they Gifters, the power-users who ate the artificial Devil Fruits?" Brook wondered. "We've already been found by the enemies?"
"No, they're not." Robin frowned. "Look at the other end of the bridge."
"What is this?" Eustass demanded, walking through the mirror Kin'emon conjured and finding himself in Gifter clothing.
"That's what the enemies wear." Killer stated.
"Hey, Jaggy!" Luffy called out. "That looks perfect on you. It makes you look really strong."
"Do you like it?" Kin'emon asked. "That's one of my special techniques: Garb Garb 'Kin's Clothing Company'. It seems you people sure are some mighty pirates." he addressed the Kid Pirates. "You can invade this island as you like, but they are overflowing with talent. Their forces are more than five times larger than ours. So I advise you to take advantage of those disguises."
"This is good." Killer nodded. "We just wanna take down Kaido, we don't have time for any other small fries."
"Let's go." Eustass growled, leading his crew off.
"Luffy-dono," Kin'emon turned to the Straw Hats. "Why don't you guys pass through it, too? My fellow warriors." he turned to the other samurai. "This is Onigashima, Kaido's stronghold. Our enemies are way stronger than us, but our spirits are high enough. However, avoid any unnecessary battle whenever possible and try to reach the castle for the final battle."
