Louisiana Bayou

After School

Tommy checked his traps and came inside early. He was tired and just wanted to watch tv.

"There you are. Tommy, you hungry?" Mary asked. Her fingers and hands ached but the herbs Josh got her from the witches in the Cauldron helped a lot. She was able to cook still, but bigger chores were a challenge.

"No, thanks, Grandma. Can I just watch some tv?" Tommy asked.

"Sure," Mary said, "As soon as you've done all of your homework."

"But Grandma, I'm tired. Can I do it later?" Tommy whined. He dumped his backpack on the table.

"You said that last night and you fell asleep. Now, one more word out of you and I'm going to get after you with the fly swatter," Mary threatened. Her eyes looked at where she stored her favorite weapon on the old metal refrigerator. It was never used to kill an actual fly. She used a rolled up newspaper for that.

"Fine. I'm getting it. You don't have to be like that," Tommy muttered. "This is stupid."

Aiden heard the argument and didn't like Tommy's tone, "Tommy, get your butt to the table and don't get up until everything is done."

"I'm doing it. Can everyone stop hollering at me? Jeez," Tommy complained. Since Mason had left and Tommy had almost been killed, he was feeling on edge. He just wanted to have fun and be a normal kid. Being responsible was boring.

Mary softened as she always did with Tommy, "No one is hollering at ya. Here, sweetheart, let me help you. Then, you can relax." Mary went into Tommy's backpack and unloaded his history book. She knew that was the class that was dragging him down. An envelope fell out address to "The Parents of Guardians of_" and penned in was Thomas Legardeur.

Tommy saw the note in Mary's hand and paled, "That's from the new teacher. She is in some kind of program or something from out of state. Sorry, I just forgot to give it to you."

"Boy, I had a grown son and this ain't my first rodeo. Now, you tell me the truth, did you forget or was you gonna spring this on me right when you was about to leave tomorrow. Or worse, not at all," Mary asked sternly.

"Tonight. I was going to give it to you tonight. Honest," Tommy said softly. He knew he was busted. Was it a crime to just want to relax after being at school all day?

"Well, let's see what it says," Mary put on her glasses and opened the envelope,"'Thomas is not paying attention, he's disrupting the class, he's not doing his class work and he has an F grade for the semester. Please talk to him and have him do his work or he will not pass. Sincerely, Miss Marx."

Aiden came back in and inquired, "She that new lady, that real young one? Tommy, what's going on? You never acted like this before?"

"My friends are in that class. Yeah, I reckon she's real nice. I guess I thought I could get away with it. I'll fix it, Grandma. I just got to do the reading and two reports. She said I can have extra time, as long as you sign the note," Tommy said shamefully.

"Well, the lady seems awfully generous and you're in the class actin' like a damn fool. You set down and do your work. Then, you can write her a letter of apology, you hear?" Mary thundered.

"Yes, ma'am, I will," Tommy agreed, the fight was gone from him. Mary never talked to him like this.

Aiden said, "Grandma, Ollie and I are ready to take you now. Tommy, Jack and Hayley are gonna be here. They can keep an eye on you. Jack, you hear that. You have to babysit Tommy because he ain't doing nothing in class."

Jackson came out, "I heard. This house ain't that big. Y'all go to that meetin' at Eve's. Hayley is busy, but I will sit here with our Tommy. I promise, he'll get it all done."

"And if he acts up, Jackson, you feel free to take down his drawers and tear up his disobedient backside. I mean it, Tommy, this ends tonight. You are better than this," Mary said firmly.

Tommy opened his books glumly, "I am doing it now. Jack, you ain't gotta babysit me."

Aiden pounded a fist on the table, "But it looks like he do. Now, stop whining about it. Grandma don't need more problems to worry about. The wolves are all up in arms with rumor about the moonlight rings that we still never got. We gotta lay those to rest."

"Sorry, Aiden. I just wanted to have some fun. The other guys, they got a note, too, but they said it's no big deal," Tommy muttered tapping his pencil on the old worn tabled.

"Those guys are punks, Tom. They are prob going to drop out and work at a factory, if they are lucky. We want more for you. Mom and Dad would have wanted you to learn and graduate. Do you get that, little bro?" Aiden said more kindly.

"I guess I do now," Tommy admitted. Aiden patted him on the shoulder.

"We'll talk more about it later. If you need help, all you have to do is ask," Aiden said softly.

Mary smiled, "Eve is expecting us. I hate to leave now, but I guess we gotta to go. Tommy, behave or Jack will act in my stead. With my arthritis bad, I can't teach you a lesson myself no more. But you know I love you and I don't want to get no more bad notes, ever. Next thing I get better be some award, cause we all know you are smart enough."

"Yes, ma'am," Tommy smiled. "Love you. Sorry, Grandma. Good luck at the meetin'."

Mary kissed Tommy and Jackson and led Aiden out of the kitchen. Ollie was outside somewhere.

Jackson exhaled, he had been looking forward to some private time with Hayley. But if his little brother needed him, he'd be here. Jackson said down at the kitchen table heavily to supervise.

New Orleans, Louisiana

French Quarter, The Compound

Evening

Davina was torn. She kept thinking of Kaleb Westphall. His beautiful eyes, his curly brown hair, that Irish accent. He was just too cute. She was worried that he got into trouble, also, for the little disturbance at school yesterday. The disturbance that got Davina expelled.

"Davina, are you even listening to me?" Josh prompted.

"Ah, sorry, Josh. You were saying?" Davina blinked.

"Never mind. So you are expelled from that stuffy private school? What now? Um, I really don't think you will like that public school. Do you even want to know the kind of brutal shit they do there? Aiden is still traumatized from...," Josh drifted off.

"From what?" Davina asked abruptly. She had no clue what Josh was babbling about.

"They paddled Aiden with this like, giant board when they got caught skipping. My poor, sweet, kind boyfriend was basically assaulted by this grown man. I swear if he wasn't a werewolf, his whole butt would have been bruised. Davina, you can't go to that school!" Josh exclaimed.

"My parents won't let them do that to me! They won't sign the form. Heck, I won't even give it to them, I'll just sign it no myself. Come on, Josh, it will be fine. Plus, I found out that Kaleb already enrolled. You act like I am going to get in trouble every day. I mean, I had a couple of tardies at my old school, sure," Davina admitted.

"And? You got into that argument with the school secretary," Josh reminded her.

"That lady was a rude bitch! She's lucky I didn't light her wig on fire. I was so tempted," Davina giggled.

"Oh, didn't you trip that girl on the stairs? The one who sprained her ankle?" Josh added hastily.

"She was an idiot and I made that look like an accident. Keep your voice down, my mom and dad don't know half the shit I do and get away with!" Davina smirked.

"D., when are you gonna realized that we can hear you?" Marcel said sternly folding his arms across his chest. "Now what about this little accident?

"Daddy, that girl was a brat. She deserved it. Believe me," Davina whined.

"Hmm," Marcel said skeptically. "I think Mom and I are going to have a talk about giving them full permission to paddle you. That might be exactly what you need. Josh, I think you better go. Little Miss Davina has chores to do that she's been skipping. Too busy with school and all. Sorry, baby, but that ain't gonna be an excuse you can use tonight.."

"Okay, bye, guys. Davina, it will all work out. Marcel, call me later," Josh said hugging his young girl friend. He had a feeling she was on a verge of a major temper tantrum.

"No, you can't let them paddle me! I want to go back to my old school then," Davina thundered.

"Sweetheart, you got expelled. You can't go back there," Marcel said patiently. "And apparently, a school where they spoil and indulge the rich privileged elites who go there, just encourages you to engage in more bad behavior."

Rebekah came in, "What is all this hollering about? Davina, you were asked to keep up this room. Ugh, there is a layer of mold all over these dishes. Disgusting!" Rebekah started picking up the wet towels from the floor.

Marcel stopped her, "No, she can do it. Miss Davina here seems like she has been up to more mischief that we knew. Tripping kids, fighting with staff, and what? Being tardy all the time. That is unacceptable behavior and you know it!"

"What? Davina, is this true?" Rebekah said dropping the damp towels into a pile.

"Yes, Mom. I'm sorry. It's just I get frustrated with regular people and do things, bad things," Davina said glumly.

"I told her that maybe we would be signing that corporal punishment permission form after all," Marcel said sternly.

"I said no! You can't do that. It's not fair," Davina said stomping her feet and cracking one of the plates staked on the floor.

Rebekah heard the crack and crossed her arms. She shouted, "You know what, I was just about to say to Dad that we would give you another chance. But seeing the way have been behaving is starting to make me think that you would benefit from more discipline. Now, clean this room up this instant!"

Marcel saw the rage on Davina's face and put his arm on her, "D., I am warning you right now to obey and do what your mother says. Please. Because one more outburst and you are going to be grounded and without a phone for the next few days."

"Dad, this sucks. I just got my phone back. You said I'd only lose it a day. You guys freaking suck!" Davina said pulling out her phone. Kaleb hadn't texted her back. She was going to break down and call him.

Marcel vamped over, "Give me the phone again. You can have it back when you learn some respect. Now, please."

Davina was shocked, her dad never took her phone. "Are you serious? Dad, Kaleb only knows my cell phone! Come on."

"I'm going to count to three and then you are going to be grounded to this room with no tv or music on top of losing your phone. One," Marcel said still holding out his hand.

"Take it," Davina said popping her cell into his hand. "I don't care."

"Davina,...-" Marcel said heavily.

"Just leave me alone! You got what you wanted. Now, go!" Davina yelled.

Marcel forced himself to not say a word and leave the room calmly. He found Rebekah stomping around in their bedroom putting away clothes.

"Whoa, if you slam that drawer any harder, we're gonna need a new dresser," Marcel said taking the stack of laundry out of her hands. "Come here and talk to me." He laid on the bed and pulled Rebekah to him.

Rebekah wiped tears from her eyes, "Damnit, Marcel. The harder I try to be patient with her, the more I snap. I didn't want to yell at her like that. We just spanked her last night. Now we find out she's doing worse things at school. Where are we going wrong?"

Marcel wondered, "I don't know. She needs a school that can handle her tricks. I wish there was a school for witches. Or at least a place they could sense magic and nip her spells in the bud. She gets away with too much or she did anyway, until they expelled her."

"Do you really mean for us to sign that form? To let them paddle her? With her inability to be anywhere on time, she won't get through a week without getting swatted," Rebekah admitted.

"Maybe that is what she needs, a few whacks to let her know that she has to be responsible," Marcel decreed.

"Well, I suppose technically she could just heal herself," Rebekah intoned as she stared at the ceiling. There were small cracks in the plaster that only vampire eyes could see.

"See, if she were in a school for witches, she would have to face a real punishment. Damn, we do need a school for supernaturals," Marcel pressed.

"A school for witches, a school for wolves, a school or vampires? Who ever heard of such a thing?" Rebekah laughed.

"Sorry, it's a stupid idea. It would never work," Marcel added.

"Never. Will she hate us?" Rebekah groaned.

"Probably. Who are we fooling? I'd never let anyone else smack our baby girl. I'll go talk to her. I took her phone again," Marcel said getting up from the bed.

"Thank you, luv," Rebekah smiled. "I just gave her the phone back."

She knew Marcel would relent.

Marcel walked down to Davina's room and smelled smoke. He opened the door to find her belongings burned to ash and Davina missing. Marcel vamped to the open balcony. It was empty.

Davina was gone.

Louisiana Bayou

After leaving Davina in the Compound, Josh went home to take a shower. He wasn't sure why because he always got sweaty and icky in the Bayou. But he wanted to see Aiden. He had checked on his new vamps that he was supervising. They all seemed to be doing fairly well. They were all at least adults, it was the teens around New Orleans that seemed out of control to Josh.

"Hello!" Josh called out from the front porch.

Hayley called back, "Hey Josh, we're inside. Come on in."

Hayley's hair was pulled back and she was wearing shorts and a t-shirt, but she looked beautiful.

"Hayley, you know, you have a great bone structure. You should be a model," Josh said honestly.

Hayley hit Josh lightly on the arm, "You are full of shit, but thank you. Aiden went to the wolf meeting with Mary. Ollie tagged alone. Jack is supervising Tommy during his homework."

"Oh no, homework, that sounds dire. Tom, what are we working on?" Josh said as he looked in on the small kitchen.

"The War of 1812 or some crap," Tommy griped. "Sorry, hey Josh. Aiden left."

"I know. But did you know that Andrew Jackson had his greatest land victory at New Orleans? I mean this stuff is local history. That's pretty cool," Josh prompted.

"Yeah, I guess. Honestly, my friends fool around so much in there that I kind of missed that part," Tommy admitted.

"Tommy, you gotta ignore things like that. You know, there is more to life than this Bayou. Don't you want to go to college?" Josh asked.

Tommy frowned, "I guess I never thought that far ahead. I mean last year at this time, I was a wolf most of the time. I guess a part of me is waiting for that to happen again or worse...," Tommy confessed.

Jack leaned over and put his large hand over the boy's smaller hand.

"Look, Tom. We ain't gonna let the Crescents get cursed again. Yeah, things were rough. But you gotta trust your alphas that we're going lead the pack through rough times to safety again," Jackson vowed.

"I trust you, Jack. Now, can y'all let me get this done in peace?" Tommy asked with a smile.

"Sure, buddy," Josh said.

Jackson, Josh, and Hayley went and talked on the porch.

"Is this meeting a wolf only thing?" Josh inquired.

"Nah, it's just at Eve's. She's cooking. Josh, why don't me and you head over. Then, Jack, if you can get Tommy straightened out, y'all come too," Hayley suggested.

"That's a good plan. We'll see you in a little while," Jackson said as he shyly kissed Hayley on the cheek goodbye.

"I will never wash my cheek again," Hayley joked.

"You better not. Save us some gumbo!" Jackson yelled as he watched them recede from the porch.

Jackson quietly went in to tell Tommy the new plan.

"What are you doing?" Jack asked suddenly. He saw the paper with some other girl's name on it and knew right away what Tommy was up to.

"Ah, nothing. It's my friend, he ah, I'm," Tommy stuttered. "I'm cheating, I guess."

"Cheating? You guess? Are you serious? After all that talk? You are now cheating!" Jackson bellowed.

"Jack, don't tell. My friend gave me this old assignment of his sister's. It's the same essay. All I have to do is change some of the words. It's perfect. Plus, I paid $20 for it!" Tommy whined.

"Tommy, you get your butt into the shower right now and then into your night clothes. I guess we ain't going to make it to Eve's tonight after all. I'll make supper here," Jackson fumed.

"But I can't go to bed. I still have to write this paper! It's 5:30pm," Tommy argued.

"You ain't going to bed. You are going wash, get a licking, then eat supper, and set on your sore behind and write the damn paper. Do you hear me? Only when it is done and you wrote that apology note are you going to bed, little boy," Jack scolded.

"No, Jack. You can't spank me for this. I was trying to do my work!" Tommy wailed.

"Tom, you were cheating. I am your alpha and your big brother. Now get your ass in the shower because I whup you now and then again later. I'm running out of steam here with your excuses. You know right from wrong. Crescents ain't cheaters and liars. Now, get!" Jackson said as he picked up Tommy by his bicep and swatted him out of the kitchen.

"I'm going. I'm going," Tommy muttered. He threw back his hands to protect his butt from the random swats. But Jackson let him walk the rest of the way to the bathroom.

Jackson sat back at the table to calm down. He tried to think what Mary would do and he got up and went to her dresser and got her heavy wooden hairbrush. Tommy was a wolf and would heal quickly, but a whacking with the brush would surely teach him not to cheat or slack off anytime soon. Jackson hated the sight of that fly swatter, but Tommy was fifteen and it would take more than a little hand spanking to set him straight.

Jack stuck the brush in his back pocket and went to wait in Tommy and Aiden's room.

Tommy came out of the shower a minute later with a towel wrapped around his waist.

"Ah Jack, can I get dressed first? Please," Tommy begged.

"Nope, let's get this over with. Then, you can do your reading at the table while I cook, I'll help you do the paper. Over my knee," Jackson said patting his left thigh.

"But I am naked!" Tommy quivered.

"Yup, stop fussing or you're going get the strap on your bare butt in a second. Tommy, I know this is hard, but you best mind me," Jackson chided.

Tommy felt tears drip down his flushed cheeks and bent over Jackson's knee. The towel was still around his waist, but he knew its scant protection would be brief.

"Lift up a little," Jackson said gently as he loosened the towel and bared Tommy.

"Jackkkk," Tommy couldn't help plead.

"Hey, you're lucky no one else isn't here. And if you can cooperate, then we can just keep this between us. Now tell me why you're about to get a spankin'," Jackson said tapping the behind in front of him lightly. Tommy was clenching and unclenching as his nerves were taut.

"I was gonna cheat and use someone else's paper," Tommy confessed.

Crack! Jackson swatted Tommy lightly on his right cheek.

Crack! Tommy felt another moderate whack on his left.

"And why else are you here, Tom?" Jackson said now tapping Tommy's white behind in warning.

"I was acting up in class and not doing my work!" Tommy wailed as Jackson gave him the first firm swat across both cheeks. Whack!

"I was rude to the teacher. She's real nice and I back talked her," Tommy said crying.

Whack! Jackson began to spank Tommy in a left, right, center pattern.

"I wasn't gonna give Gram the note until tonight because I didn't want to get a lickin'," Tommy admitted.

"You know better than to be disrespectful to adults, boy. You weren't raised like that. You oughta be ashamed of yourself," Jackson chided. Crack! Crack! Crack!

"I am. I'll apologize tomorrow!" Tommy shouted as he began to kick his legs. Jackson was not smacking him hard but on his damp bottom, each crack seemed to ignite his sensitive nerves. Soon, Jackson increased the tempo and intensity of the swats and had to throw his leg over Tommy's legs to restrain him. Tommy's behind grew pink and Tommy felt his backside go from slightly warmed up to engulfed in flames.

"I'm sorry, Jackson! Stop," Tommy began to protest as he pounded his fists on the bed. "Please don't spank me! I'm scared."

"Tom, if I survived all the butt whuppings I got that were a lot worse than this, you're gonna be okay. But you have been sassing Grandma and giving everybody a hard time lately. This paddlin' ought to set you straight. If it don't, then a harder one might. You got me?" Jackson said spanking the bare seat in front of him all over.

But Jackson continued to swat until Tommy's behind was red and his own palm was getting numb.

"Fuck. Please...N-nooo...more. Jesus...J-Jack, Stop," Tommy wailed next.

"I guess it is time to break out Grandma's brush, huh?" Jackson said slipping the brush out of his pocket with his right hand. He was using his left to hold down Tommy who was struggling despite his leg also restraining him.

"NOOOOO! AHHHHH," Tommy shrieked. Jackson laid the flat back of the wooden brush on Tommy's hot behind and rubbed it slightly. He wasn't planning to whack him hard, but just flick it a few times to make an impression. Jack used his wrist to slap the brush down. Pop!

Tommy screamed, "Owwwww."

Pop!

Pop!

"The back of the brush on the bare butt always makes an impression. Try getting this when you don't have wolf healing. That is a whole other ballgame, my friend," Jack informed him. He didn't think Tommy was hearing him.

Pop!

Pop!

"Five more and we're all done. I don't like paddling you, but I also don't want to have this conversation with you again, Tom. You could be a good student, go to college, and live in the city," Jack started. POP!

POP!

"You know, you and Aiden both could live another life. You and your brother could go live with Josh in the city. You could have a career! But buddy, this crap you pulled today, will get you no where," Jackson lectured.

POP!

"I love this Bayou, but you have options. You and Aiden are smart in ways that Ollie and I aren't. Tommy, don't close those doors but being a knucklehead. You are a smart kid and we will do everything to help you achieve your goals, but I will not help you fail," Jackson said. "These are going to be hard."

Jackson raised the brush high and gave Tommy a hard crack on the center of both cheeks to end the spanking.

POP! POP!

Tommy wailed and then went limp and sobbed into his arms. Jackson unlocked his leg and let go of his waist. Tommy's behind was a shiny red and looked sore. Jackson hadn't touched his thighs. He gave Tommy a minute to catch his breath and then carefully wrapped his towel over his battered rump.

"Tom, you'll heal in a minute or two, but I want you to remember that I spanked you because you are better than all this. You hear me? This kinda behavior is not you. I know you want friends and to have fun, but those guys sound like idiots. If we hear about it again, you're not just gonna get the flat of the brush over my knee. What do you think it's gonna be?" Jackson promptly firmly.

"The strap?" Tommy cried.

"Yup. A couple times, Ollie and I got a switching and then a couple licks of that old strap on top of that. Wolf healing don't stop that kind of butt pain. Don't make us do that. You're a good kid, Tom. You made a mistake. You paid for it," Jack said rubbing his back. "But don't repeat the mistake."

"S-Sorry," Tommy sniffed.

"All forgiven," Jack said softly. "You want to lay down a little, then get dressed? I'll make you something to eat and then we can get to it."

"Stay, please, Jack!" Tommy said as Jackson helped him crawl into the bed on his stomach. The towel came off and Jack could see the red had already faded to pink.

"Okay, buddy. Let's just rest a few minutes. I'll talk to Grandma about giving you a short break after school before your homework. Like 30 to 45 minutes, then work, okay?" Jackson offered.

"Thanks. I should work harder in study hall or homeroom, even on the bus. Then, I wouldn't even have much to do," Tommy revealed.

Jackson laid beside Tommy and put his arm around him.

"I mean it, Tom. You're a good kid. I couldn't ask for better brothers," Jackson said holding him tightly. "I love you. When we almost lost you, it scared all of us."

"I love you, too, Jack. I want to make you guys proud of me. If I get the work and the note done, can we still go to Eve's? That way you won't have to cook?" Tommy asked suddenly.

Jackson said, "I don't see why not. They should be there a good while."

Tommy rolled over and sucked in his breath as his sore posterior rubbed again the sheet, "Okay, I'm going do that paper now. I can do it on my own. But I just have one question."

"What?" Jackson asked in amusement.

"Can I set on a pillow?" Tommy said gingerly.

"Sure, let's get going then," Jackson said laughing.

New Orleans, Louisiana

French Quarter, The Compound

Evening

Davina would show them. She did a spell to sent a note to Kaleb to meet her near Rousseau's in an hour. She was a witch. She didn't need a damn phone to communicate. Her parents would be sorry for the way they were treating her. Burning up her room was a little accident of her temper, but she put out the fires quickly.

No one was waiting around Rousseau's but Davina admitted that she could be early. Without her phone, she really didn't know what time it was. She had just gotten it back and they took it again.

"Isn't that the little bitch that almost beat you up, Ron?" Davina heard as she turned around to see two boys from school standing there watching her.

She saw the overweight, pimply boy from her chemistry class, but didn't know his name.

"Ah, the fat sidekick of the headmaster's bully son. Great, and the bully himself, Ronald," Davina muttered.

"Yes, that's her," Ronald guffawed. "How does it feel to be expelled?"

"Great, actually. How does it feel to be mute?" Davina said whispering a spell under her breath.

Ronald and his friend opened their mouths but nothing came out.

"Davina, what are you doing, lass?" Kaleb said from behind Davina.

"Oh Kaleb, you made it! I was just teaching these fools a lesson," Davina smirked.

"I think ya better reverse the spell quickly. Is that your Mum and Da coming?" Kaleb said going pale. He had seen Davina's mother at school the day she got expelled.

"Oh shit, it is. Se pou nou fe sa yo dwe fe." Davina muttered.

Ron bellowed, "What the hell did you do to me? What are you? Some kind of devil wizard?"

Rebekah and Marcel ran up and Rebekah gasped, "Davina, are you okay? We saw your room and...is this the bully from school?"

"Yes, and he's accusing me of being a devil!" Davina said.

Marcel grabbed him by the collar, "You will forget what you saw here today. Go forth and be nice to people. Do good." He waiting until the boy repeated the instruction. Rebekah compelled the friend.

Kaleb looked on with wide eyes. He had been warned his whole life about vampires, but until now, he had never met any.

"Mummy, Daddy, this is Kaleb, Kaleb, these are my parents," Davina said in a small voice.

Marcel shook his hand, "Hi Kaleb, nice to meet you. Um, sorry it had to be like this. Say, we have to get Davina home now."

Rebekah said, "But maybe we will see you again soon. Are you a member of the French Quarter coven?"

Kaleb was amazed, "Yes, but how did you know?"

Marcel laughed, "It is our business to know. Davina, come on, we have some things to discuss, young lady."

Davina turned, "Sorry, this was a bust. They took my phone again. But it seems like I will see you at the new school soon. Hopefully, it's not filled with bullies like the last one."

Kaleb grinned, "Well, if it is. You seem to know how to take care of them. Nice to meet you all." Kaleb said before disappearing into the crowd of tourists and locals surrounding them.

"He's cute," Rebekah said simply.

"Super cute," Marcus said sarcastically, "But this one will be cleaning her room for the next month so I'm not sure she will have time to see him again."

"Can I clean it with magic?" Davina said hopefully.

Both Rebekah and Marcel shouted, "No!"

"Fine," Davina pouted. "Then, change my name to Cinderella!"

"Move it, Cinderella," Rebekah said trying not to roll her own eyes.

Davina looked back to see if she could see Kaleb, but he seemed long gone.
