Chapter 309: Arc 18: Enemy or Ally? Luffy and Yamato!

Meanwhile...

Yamato had rescued Luffy from Ulti's pachycephalosaurus form and was fleeing from the battlefield.

With Usopp and Chopper...

"Shoot!" Chopper shouted, the Brachio Tank V was also fleeing from battle as Usopp drove the tank back to the bridge. "I knew it." the crew's doctor panicked, Big Mom was emerged unscathed from the energy blasts. "It wouldn't work."

"Don't give up." Usopp encouraged. "If we can't trust this Brachio Tank V, who else will? I won't let go of this lever, even if it kills me."

"Targeting Big Mom." Chopper relented.

"Brachio Tank V, High-Explosive Anti-Tank!" Usopp readied another shot when Big Mom just smacked the tank off with one hand.

"Life or..." Big Mom loomed over the two pirates.

"Mama." Prometheus stopped Big Mom from taking Usopp and Chopper's souls. "Zeus and the woman who kidnapped him are here."

Her interest diverted, Big Mom left Usopp and Chopper alone and headed off to retrieve her waylaid homie.

"We've got to combine with the Black Rhino ASAP to form General Franky." Chopper urged. "But Big Mom went after Nami and the others."

"I guess she'll try to take back Zeus." Usopp reasoned.

"I'm worried about them." Chopper noted.

"They'll be fine." Usopp assured. "Sanji's with them, too."

"Kin'emon and the others were able to move forward, so we're doing well." Chopped nodded, Usopp steering the Brachio Tank to meet up with Franky.

With Jinbe's group...

"Everyone is drunk and there's virtually no security." Jinbe noted.

"It's like an all-you-can-assassinate buffet." Robin remarked.

"Robin, please don't say that with a straight face." Sasha shook her head.

"Is that..." Jinbe spotted Hyogoro amongst the crowd. "Those samurai have successfully snuck in."

"You're quite cute." a drunk Gifter grabbed Robin by the neck. "Which unit do you belong to? What's you name? Tell me."

Robin instantly knocked the molester out with a chop to the back of his neck using the Hana Hana Fruit. "I'm sorry, but I don't have a name to tell you."

"You scare me." Jinbe chuckled.

With Luffy and Yamato...

"You said you were Kaido's son." Luffy stated. "What do you want from me?"

"I have something to tell you." Yamato replied. "It's important."

"I don't have time now." Luffy refuted.

"Don't worry." Yamato assured. "I'm not gonna hurt you."

"Didn't you hear me say I don't have time?" Luffy set his feet down on the ground and flung Yamato over his shoulder. "I said I don't have time."

"I have something to tell you." Yamato insisted.

"Where are you taking me?" Luffy demanded. "I don't have time for a stranger."

"Wait, I just wanna talk." Yamato replied.

"Get out of my way." Luffy glared. Coating both his arms in Armament Haki, he sent them flying towards Yamato.

"Listen to what I have to say." Yamato effortlessly blocked the attack.

"You have five seconds." Luffy stated, Yamato blocking off the next kick and sending a 'Gear Second' Luffy to the wall.

"People can hear us." Yamato reminded. "I wanna talk to you in private."

"Then, no." Luffy stood his ground. "Gomu Gomu no Gatling!" he fired off his rapid punches at Yamato.

Yamato swatted the punches off and closed in on the younger brother of his best friend. "You're hard-headed." he chided.

"Red Hawk!" Luffy sent his flaming punch flying at Yamato.

Yamato coated his kanabo club with Armament Haki to fend off the flames. "It reminds me of the fight with that man." he extinguished the flames.
