Chapter 310: Arc 18: Desire to be Oden - Yamato's Dream

"That man?" Luffy coughed out the smoke. "Who are you talking about?"

"Till you listen to me, I won't let you go." Yamato insisted.

"All right." Luffy relented. "I give 10 seconds."

"That's impossible." Yamato protested.

"Then, 30 seconds." Luffy offered.

"10 minutes." Yamato pressed.

"One minute." Luffy laid down his final condition. "I won't compromise anymore."

Meanwhile with Law's group...

"It's getting quite rough." Dogstorm noted.

"Yeah." Kawamatsu agreed. "I feel this foreshadows how the battle's gonna go."

"No matter how tough the battle may be, we'll take Kaido's head." Ashura declared.

"Adjust trim, 38 degrees." Bepo instructed.

"Get as close to the island as possible." Law ordered. "Strong currents are developing over a wide area." he concluded. "It's the same up there. When we surface, we'll get only one shot."

"All systems are clear." Shachi confirmed. "We can surface anytime."

"Right." Law nodded. "Surface."

"It's snowing." Dogstorm looked up at the skies once the Polar Tang surfaced from the ocean.

"Room." Law expanded his bubble from the Polar Tang to Onigashima. An energy slice from Kikoku took off the island's mountain peak. "Shambles." he swapped out the floating rocks with the entire group.

"Close the door." Jean Bart instructed. "We'll submerge again."

At the rear entrance of Onigashima...

"We're here." Ashura gawked.

"We're finally here on Onigashima." Dogstorm remarked.

"I see." Law gave the back entrance a closer look. "There are two entrances. Kaido will definitely be up there."

"We're this close to Kaido now." Kiku added.

"We're take him down along with Orochi and restore the Kozuki Clan." Raizo declared. "The moment we've waited for while suffering for the last 20 years."

"The moment we restore peace to Wano and open its borders just as Oden-sama wished." Kawamatsu agreed.

"Is finally at hand." Ashura breathed.

"Why can't you treat me more nicely?" Marco chided. "You're asking too much. Is this your fine idea?"

"Wait..." Cat Viper protested when Marco dropped him right in front of the others. "Ow..." he whined. "That was terrible."

"Cat Viper." Raizo gaped when the last Akazaya samurai joined them.

"Marco, you carried him here?" Dogstorm turned the the First Commander of the Whitebeard Pirates.

"I'm exhausted from carrying two people." Marco landed on a nearby branch.

"Izo!" the rest of the Akazaya samurai beamed when Kiku's elder brother joined in.

"Onii-sama..." Kiku breathed in disbelief.

"Kiku, you've become a fine samurai." Izo let his sister weep.

"How reassuring." Raizo was relieved.

"I'm glad you came back." even Kawamatsu was tearing.

"I didn't tell you about him." Cat Viper teased. "Marco said he knew Izo's whereabouts so I went to see him."

"Marco, you haven't changed at all." Dogstorm remarked.

"You think?" Marco wondered. "Let's talk about the good old days later. Something on the sea caught my eye earlier so I'm gonna go check it out." he then flew off.

"I'm glad I waited for 20 years." Ashura announced. "Let's take down Kaido at any cost."

With Luffy and Yamato...

Yamato had taken Luffy into an attic. "One day, I told my father that I wanted to become Kozuki Oden." Kaido's daughter started. "My father kicked my butt. 20 years ago, I witnessed Oden's execution; the Legendary Hour. There was no samurai as great as him. The ones who killed him were Orochi and my father, Kaido. That was frustrating. But more than that, I was deeply moved and couldn't stop crying. Later, I found this in Kuri. It's Kozuki Oden's logbook." she pulled out the book from her juban. "It's my bible. Even my father and the others don't know about this journal. His heroic tales and other important tidbits are written in here. He met the strongest man in the world, Edward Newgate and joined the Whitebeard Pirates. He set out to sea and had numerous adventures and eventually, he met the infamous Gold Roger. After joining the Roger Pirates, he visited various islands, met so many people and saw all kinds of things. And he realized how big the world is. Now that the Akazaya samurai are dead, someone has to inherit Oden's will. That's why I'm gonna open this country."

"You're..." Luffy gawked when Yamato removed her oni mask and ripped her yukata sleeves off to reveal her true gender.

"Let me fight alongside you." Yamato requested.

"You said you were Kaido's son." Luffy reminded.

"Kozuki Oden was a man, right?" Yamato grinned. "So I became a man, too. You're really strong. You weren't going all out when you fought me, were you? You remind me of Ace."
