The 57th Expedition Arc Part III: The Knightess versus the Dragon

"GUNTHER!"

"Shit! Eren! Keep going!" Evangelica yelled at him,

The assassin pulled up beside them,

"W-Who are you!" Eren yelled at the assassin, but to no response.

"Eld! What do we do?!" Oluo shouted,

"No time to get the horses! Break for HQ!"

"Is it the Female Titan?!" Isabel asked.

'The Female Titan?! But no...we captured it didn't we?!' Eren thought rapidly,

"Damn you! Come at me you bitch!" Petra yelled, and then the assassin vanished behind a tree.

And then the area exploded in a flash of golden light

Alto shielded his eyes as the Female Titan transformed again,

'Shit! Levi Squad is cornered. The Female Titan will wipe them out hands down!' Dropping from a tree, he pursued after the Female Titan moving from tree to tree to catch up with the fight,

Eld feinted straight for the Female's eyes, but when it reached to grab him he used the steam from his Maneuver Gear to create a screen, the Titan's eyes widened as Petra and Oluo approached the left and right flanks of its eyes, while Furlan and Isabel dove for the arms.

With both arms and eyes disabled, the Female Titan backed up against a tree to protect it's nape.

'There! It's both blind and it's arms are immobilized, we should have at least a minute before everything regenerates.' Eld thought

'To hell with capturing this bitch!' Isabel thought angrily,

'We're killing her!' Petra thought,

'I'll see you in hell!' Furlan thought

'Cut your way to it's nape!' Oluo thought,

Petra spun, aiming for the center of it's throat, while Furlan and Eld aimed for the sides of the neck

1. And then everything went wrong

It's right arm swung around, as Furlan's and Petra's blades clanged off it's hardened neck, it grabbed Eld and juiced him like a fruit, his guts sprayed everywhere as it dropped his remains then a single eye popped open.

"ELD!" Eren screamed as he turned around,

"Eren don't!" Evangelica followed him,

"H-how?!" Petra shoots her hooks back, retreating, "It hasn't even been 30 seconds! There's no way...wait. Only one eye and arm?! It concentrated its power on it's eye and arm?!"

Next was Oluo, he tried following Petra, but the Female Titan was too fast, easily snapping him in her jaws and swallowing him.

Furlan gritted his teeth and dived for it's now exposed nape, he redrew his blades. "I'LL KILL YOU!" He screamed but as it hardening around its neck flaked off, the nape was almost instantly covered in the crystal.

"FURLAN NO!" Isabel shrieked as his blades clashed against the invincible crystal, the Titan whirled around, spin-kicking his body mid-air. The sheer force of impact broke every major bone in his body, killing him.

The Female Titan stood, it's body healing rapidly. Then it began to run after Petra, winding it's arm up, she prepared to throw it at Petra,

Then for a brief second, another Scout appeared in front of her, before bursting into golden light.

'I'm too late...to save the others. I'm sorry.' Alto bowed his head inside his newly formed Titan body. Placing his hands out, he stopped the Female in it's tracks. Forcing it to retreat several steps before repositioning it's stance.

He raised his head, he turned his hands into claws of hardening and steadily approached the Female Titan.

'But..nonetheless...I am-"

1- "GOING TO KILL YOU!" Eren bit down on his thumb. The Attack Titan slid against the ground towards the Female Titan. Screaming wildly, he continued to run towards the pair.

Alto made his move first, launching his Titan body towards the Female Titan he feinted a punch at her face and she moved to the side and right into a sidekick. Recoiling several paces the Female Titan hardened her fists before aiming a punch at Alto's center, forcing him to block with his arms. The impact sent a shockwave of energy around the forest. 1x

2. The Female Titan dropped down, aiming a kick for his shins. In response Alto leaped backwards, forcing the Female Titan to charge at him and aim an uppercut at his chin, Alto ducked to the side, barely dodging before bringing a claw down on the Female Titan's left shoulder blade. The Female Titan acted slamming a fist into the open palm, if it wasn't hardened it would've been incinerated. Instead, the crystal absorbed the impact, and began to crack. Alto retreated a few steps.

Eren jumped in, aiming a wild uppercut for the Female Titan's head, she immediately leapt to the side before planting a kick in his abdomen. Causing Spittle to fly from the Attack Titan, but Eren quickly recovered, grabbing her leg and tossing her into a tree. However, Eren couldn't maintain the assault, and retreated to catch his breath.

'This is bad...I'm exhausted from my first shift. And Eren fights like a wild animal and is tired already as well. Thankfully the Female Titan is at a disadvantage, neither her right eye or left arm have healed fully. We need to finish this, and fast.'

2- Alto charged first, rapidly jabbing and kicking at the Female Titan's face and upper body, forcing her to dodge. Reinforcing his hardening, he swiped at her face, but the Female Titan leaned backwards, and he only managed to slash her chest.

Eren came in next, bringing his arm down on the Female Titan, she flipped to the side and he ended up barely missing Alto's foot. He kept up the offensive, aiming a right hook for her face. Only for her to dodge it again.

'Her size makes her faster and more maneuverable. And a hardened punch at the right time could easily destroy either one of us.' Alto analyzed. Finally, Eren managed to land a blow on her right arm, throwing her to the ground. She rolled a few paces before recovering and running deeper into the forest.

"Captain Levi!" Petra reported, her voice began to choke as she said, "Oluo. Furlan. Gunther. And Eld are all dead. We don't know where Evangelica is, and Eren is currently engaged in combat with the Female Titan." She paused, "There's more. A second Titan has just showed up and begun fighting the Female Titan with Eren."

"Why aren't you engaging?" Levi asked coldly,

"Sir...with all due respect there's only two of us. And considering how fast things are moving neither of us could find an opening."

"Lange Squad! We're heading into the forest to see what the fuck is going on!" Ambros said at last before taking off into the forest.

"But our orders-" Jean began, but Ambros was already off,

Mina said nothing, but headed off after Ambros.

"Come on! Someone might be in trouble!" Historia told them before going with Mina.

"There she goes again." Ymir muttered before sighing and following Historia.

Armin nodded to Jean before following the trio,

"What am I doing…" Jean murmured before activating his gear and heading off.

2- Eren threw two punches at the Female Titan which she quickly dodged. However, she was on the complete defensive against the two Titans. Her wounds hadn't fully healed.

As she kept dodging, she stumbled and ended up falling back and Eren leapt on top of her, pushing her down as she tried to get up. He raised his fist, and brought it down, and the Female barely managed to avoid getting her face destroyed by moving her head seconds before it came. But before the other fist could come down, a third flash of light came from the forest beside them.

Suddenly, three skeins made of a mix of Titan hardening impaled Eren's body. The Female Titan seized the opening, quickly wrapped her leg around one of Eren's and kicked him off her, sending him flying into Alto.

'Shit! What were those things?!' Alto looked down on one of the skeins. 'A throwing knife? Made out of Titan hardening?'

"Oh dear god." Alto could sense panic in Dante's voice, "Don't tell me it is here."

Out of the trees emerged a titan clad in a form of pure white hardening covering almost every inch of its body. It opened its palm, and a giant warhammer materialized in it's hand.

Eren and Alto barely scrambled out of the way before the Titan slammed its warhammer down on where they were mere seconds prior.

"What the hell is that thing?!" Alto shouted at Dante,

"The third most powerful Titan, following us and the Founding. The Warhammer Titan."

"Captain Levi!" Ambros and the rest of Lange Squad approached Levi and the remnants of Levi Squad.

"Good timing." Levi nodded,

"Captain!" Mikasa landed near them, "Where's Eren?!"

"Fighting the Female Titan. Anyway, we need to keep that brat from getting killed." He pointed to where the Titans were fighting

2- Alto ducked as the Warhammer swung it's hammer around again, 'This is bad...the Female alone was bad enough. But the Warhammer as well?' He jumped to the side as the hammer came down, shearing of a bit of muscle. 'I need to get in close and use my Dragon ability.' Planting his feet, he rushed the WarHammer Titan, ducking to the side as it swung it's hammer around.

Inhaling, Alto released a torrent of flame from his mouth, forcing the Warhammer to turn cheek lest it's eyes are burned. This provided the perfect opening, raising his fist he slammed a hardened fist into the exposed cheek, smashing the armor and sending it sprawling.

The Warhammer slid against the ground before the telltale electricity that came from summoning a weapon appeared, but this time, it wasn't a hammer, but two shortswords she began to dual-wield.

She gave no room for Alto to counter, throwing one of the swords, it impaled straight into his chest before she rushed at him with both hands on the other one, driving it straight through his head before she cleaved it through the upper half of his head.

The Warhammer stood, and dropped the shortsword.

And that's when Levi and Lange Squad made their move.
