A/N: First, I want to say thank you! Since it's because of you all that I reached 1001 reviews, wow how crazy is that? LOL.

As for this new instalment of the saga, I will only say that this was inspired by a minor scene from the episode "Jade Dumps Beck", plus it is said that Jade's childhood was not an easy one throughout the series, so I thought what if one small gestured lightened her whole day? And so this idea was born.

This chapter is very meaningful to me and you will all know why soon enough.

Matt was anxiously looking out the window, waiting for the mailman to arrive.

"Come on; come on, when is it going to get here?" The boy asked. "It's getting late!"

"Mijo looking out the window is not going to make the mail arrive any faster." Tawny said to her son in amusement. "Don't worry the package I ordered is going to be on our doorstep today."

No sooner that Matt was about to open his mouth, he saw the mailman approaching the mailbox.

"HE'S HERE!" He jumped excitedly, running towards the front door, opening it with such force it took the mailman by surprise. "Do you have anything for me Mr. Mailman?"

"That depends." The man chuckled. "Are you Matthew Shapiro?"

"I sure am!" He replied happily. "GIMME!"

"Matt! In this house we say please and thank you!" Tawny admonished. "I'm sorry about that."

"No worries Ma'am." The mailman said. "I got kids of my own; I do know how they can get when I have to give them the toys or whatever children these days order online."

"Oh this isn't for me." Matt interjected. "Mom, do we have present paper?"

"It's wrapping paper. Mijo." She corrected. "And we do, I'll go and look for it." She then looked at the mailman. "Thanks again."

"No problem, have a nice day." He said as he was about to leave. "Oh, also I need you to sign this."

Meanwhile Matt happily ran towards the kitchen with the package in his hands, sitting down on the dinner table he began to open the box and turning upside down, making a mess as packing peanuts were falling everywhere till he saw a toy colliding with the table, he grabbed it, making sure it was the same one his mom ordered online, once he was satisfied he put it back in the carton, even though he tear it apart trying to open it in the first place. "I'm going to need a smaller box."

"And a broom." Tawny said as she entered the kitchen. "You're cleaning this mess up, Mijo."

"Aww."

After getting rid of all the foam, Matt once more was solving the issue on what he could use to pack the toy in till his mother suggested a shoebox, withy that decided, the young boy began to work, he insisted he wanted to wrap the box, Tawny relented as she watched as her son struggled to wrap the shoebox in the wrapping paper, picking out the gift wrap was the easy part, cutting it so it was the right side of the box was a challenge in itself since Matt didn't consider certain factors like how much paper to use or how to cut it, since he was too small to use scissors, he instead used his own hands to tear the paper apart.

Granted, he could've asked his mom to do it for him but he insisted this was his project to make, so after the seventh try, Matt finally got the correct amount of wrapper, then he began to envelop it around the box, which was easier said than done as the paper wasn't staying still and in a moment of frustration, Matt simply grabbed as much duct tape as he possible could around the shoebox, the end result was as if there was more tape than paper visible.

"Look Mom! I'm done!"

"I can see that Matt." She said with an encouraging smile. "You may need a little more practice, but not bad for a first time."

"I just hope that…" The boy began to say, stopping mid-sentence when he grabbed the box, noticing that when he shakes it, felt a little empty. "Wait… Something isn't right."

Matt saw the discarded package on the floor but more importantly, the toy still within, this made the young boy to put his face in his hands and screams, something he had noticed his Grandma Jade do when she had hit her tipping point.

"Want me to wrap it now Mijo?"

"Please Mommy."

After Tawny wrapped the present for her son to give, they were getting g ready for their car ride, Matt held onto the gift protectively, almost as if he was making sure it wouldn't unwrap at the last minute and start the fiasco all over again.

"One last thing." Tawny muttered as she puts a small luggage on the car's trunk. "Now that we got everything, ready to go Mijo?"

"Yeah!"

"Good." She said with a smile. "Now buckle up, this is going to be a bumpy ride."

About half an hour later both mother and son arrived at their destination, Matt was jumping up and down in his seat, excitedly watching out the window, Tawny opened the door and unbuckled her son. "We're here, Mijo."

Not sooner that she said that did he ran out of the car, present still safely within his arms, he began to knock onto the front door, "Grandma! Abuelita! Grandma! Abuelita!"

Jade and Tori were in their living room watching a movie, that is until they heard the commotion outside, both women shared a grin.

"Looks like our little guest just arrived." Tori chuckled. "Want me to go and answer it or do you want to do the honors?"

The Thespian didn't bother to answer and instead she walked to the front door, once she opened it, Matt jumped into her waiting arms, giving him a loving embrace.

"Grandma!"

"Well look what the wind brought in." Jade joked. "You're getting bigger everyday Matt, how old are you? Four, right?"

"Four and a half, grandma!"

"Of course." She chuckled. "How could I forget?"

"Hi Mom." Tawny greeted. "Hi Mama."

"Hi sweetheart." Tori replied as she stood next to her spouse, it always brought a smile to her face when their grandson came to visit or in this case stay with them for an entire week since his parents were going on a cruise and his maternal grandparents were asked to babysit him for the time they were going to be away. "Do you have everything ready for your trip?"

"I checked and rechecked to make sure I'm not forgetting anything." Tawny said. "Thanks for looking after Matt, Lukas and I really needed this time to ourselves."

"Think nothing of it." Tori said grinning. "We're going to have a lot of fun, aren't me Matt?"

The young boy nodded.

"Hey Kiddo, what you have in your hands?" Jade asked, finally noticing that her grandson was holding onto something even when he was hugging her.

"Oh! I brought a gift!" He replied giving it to the Thespian. "And it's for you grandma! For letting me stay with you."

"Oh you didn't have to do that." Jade said. "We love having you here, right Vega?"

"Right."

"I still wanted to give you something." He said. "Open it grandma!"

Tori noticed that her daughter had gotten her phone out, clearly recording what was happening, this peaked the Latina's curiosity and her raised eyebrow showed that, so she watched as her wife began to unwrap the gift, once Jade opened the shoebox, she blinked to make sure she wasn't seeing things, she got a Potato Patch Pals from her grandson, she was a little confused as to why he would give her a toy she had no use for.

"Do you like it?" Matt asks with hope in his eyes. "It's the zombie Potato Patch Pal."

"I can see that." Jade said inspecting the toy. "I remember I had one of these when I was seven, until my mom…"

"… Gave it away to some greedy orphans." Both she and Matt said at the same time. "Surprise Grandma! I know you don't play with toys anymore but no one should lose a toy they like so I wanted to give it back to you… Even if it's not the same one you had when you were little."

Jade had tears in her eyes; her grandson was too pure for this world. "Wonder where he got that from? He certainly didn't get it from me."

"Who told you about that?"

"Your Mommy did, grandma."

All the adults froze when he said that, for a minute or so, after all they sometimes forget that Matt could talk to the dead.

Jade didn't care for that at the moment, she simply held her grandson in her arms, it was such a small gesture but it meant a lot to Jade, after all she had gotten the original Potato Patch Pal as a gift from her grandmother and now she had gotten a new one from her grandson, it was almost fitting in a way.

"Thank you Matt." Jade said. "It's the best thing I could have ever gotten."

"This time no one can take it from you, grandma."

"Never."

Tawny and Tori were trying to hold in their tears and were failing miserably, after all only someone made of stone wouldn't cry at such a tender moment.

Jade washed her tears away. "I know the perfect place for this."

The Potato Patch Pal found its way into Jade's Woman cave, so every time she entered her hidey hole, the first thin she would always see was that toy but much more importantly, it would always serve as a reminder of how much her grandson loved her.

"Anyone who dares to touch that thing out of it's place is so dead."

Author Notes: So, remember when I said that this was inspired by a scene the episode "Jade Dumps Beck"? Well the part where Jade complained about her mother giving a way one of her favorite childhood toys made me think, what if she got a new one?

Fun Fact: Today is my birthday but I'm dedicating this chapter to my grandmother who sadly passed away several years ago but I still miss her every day, so this was my way of remembering her since I was very close to her like Matt is with Jade.

Another fun fact: The bit with Matt trying to wrap the present? That's something that happened to me when I was younger, LOL.

This was a very mushy chapter and I don't regret it, since this was in fact very important to me.
